Summary:

A little post in a normal Monday morning is what starts an operation of confirming a relationship.

An University/College & Roommates AU I wrote so I could write a comedy with Sidefall.

Notes:

Short fic I wrote just to rest from writing my other works in progress.

I really like this AU, so I'll probably write more ｡⁠◕⁠‿⁠◕⁠｡

Work Text:

It was a normal Monday, and the campus was full of students walking around, some going to class, others meeting up with friends, and some just walking around skipping class.

And like every Monday morning, the news forum had a new post made by Sidefall.

But everyone who decided to click on the post didn't find the usual article of why the volcano would erupt soon, but a surprisingly full of images and nearly as long as the last 5 posts of Sidefall together of a very unusual topic.

It was nearly a 20 pages document filled with images of two of the most popular students of the campus, Saparata and Fluixon.

Sidefall's article quickly spread and by the evening everyone had already heard of the article.

The campus was divided in two main building that the students called Pangea and Yggdrasil. Sidefall, was a student mainly seen in Yggdrasil, and was well known for his weekly posts on the news forums about the volcano nearby.

Many people (mainly those who studied at Yggdrasil) knew that Sidefall's articles weren't completely true, always insisting on the fact that the volcano will erupt while the Infernus club (name their own members gave to the geology club, leaded by two students named Cynikka and Harvest) always assured there was no sign of an eruption happening.

The comments under the post was full of people questioning the proofs by just saying things like "It can be a normal activity between two friends" and some few convinced people.

But Sidefall wasn't going to back down. He knew that with those proofs he wasn't going to convince many people, but he was going to do it, he was going to find an undeniable proof.

That evening, he had overheard Saparata telling his friend he was busy that Saturday evening and he was very sure of the reason.

He had managed to contact a friend of Fluixon, Thomas, who confirmed that the guy was going somewhere on Saturday evening.

That seemed suspicious for Sidefall.

Thomas

That's obviously a date!

Sidefall

You know the time?

Thomas

Don't know. I'm going to ask Cynikka

Sidefall

What?

DON'T YOU DARE

THOMAS

CYNIKKA HATES ME

Thomas

Too late, Cynikka's writing back

Sidefall

At least tell me you haven't said my name

Sidefall was very nervous, he was sitting in a lovely cafe where he wrote many of his weekly posts and in front of him was Cynikka, who looked at him with deadly eyes.

He knew that Infernus hated his guts deeply, everyone knew that Infernus wasn't an ordinary club and more like a religious cult that worshipped the volcano.

Cynikka was the president of the club a title shared with Harvest, but inside everyone called them both 'Queen and King of Infernus'.

All the members shared a hate for all the things Sidefall had wrote about the volcano and he was completely banned from the club's room (not like he wanted to even go near there).

Thomas whispered something to Cynikka after seeing that rising tension between the two of them.

Cynikka sighed, and just nodded a little. "Alright" she whispered.

Thomas looked at Sidefall and smiled, giving him a thumbs up.

"I'm going to forget everything you've done. But only because I really want to know what's going on between Fluixon and Saparata" said Cynikka reaching a hand out as if they were doing a deal.

"That's fine for me" said Sidefall, reaching his hand out into a temporary peace between him and the Queen of Infernus.

Cynikka

They're leaving in an hour

It's obviously a date, I heard Saparata say something about a movie

Thomas

Where are you Cynikka?

Sidefall and I are waiting for you in the park nearby their house

Cynikka

I am at their house

Thomas

YOU'RE WHAT???

Cynikka

I am at their house

I can't pass this opportunity to tease Flux about his 'totally not a date'

"Cynikka, want something?" asked Saparata from the kitchen.

"No thanks" she answered, still typing on her phone, but Saparata still come out of the kitchen with a glass of water for her.

Saparata sat beside her, sipping his own glass of water, waiting for his roommate.

"Why are you here?" asked Fluixon, entering the room, he looked at her suspiciously.

"Not happy to see me?" she said with a big smile.

"Not really" answered Fluixon. "I said that I'm busy today."

"That's why I'm here! To help you prepare for your date" said Cynikka, ignoring how Saparata choked with his drink and started coughing.

"It's not a date" said Fluixon rolling his eyes.

"No? Then why are you getting red?" teased Cynikka, very amused.

"I'm not" said Fluixon, but Cynikka could see how he was blushing slightly. "Get out" he said, grabbing Cynikka and pushing her outside the apartment. "Goodbye." And he closed the door with a slam.

He kicked me out Ó⁠╭⁠╮⁠Ò

Where are you guys?

I don't see you

Sidefall

They kicked you out?

Thomas

We're at that ice cream stand

"What's that?" Cynikka asked, pointing at the black and dark turquoise ice cream Sidefall had in his hands.

"It's called Rising Lava" he said, rising it up to show Cynikka, his eyes shining with proud as if he was seeing his firstborn child. "My creation."

"That looks nothing like lava" said Cynikka.

"Of course not, it's Rising Lava, not lava" said Sidefall, taking a spoon of ice cream to his mouth.

"And I present you, Fluxarata" said Thomas, showing her his bowl of ice cream. There was a black ball of ice cream, golden long sprinkles and two purple dots decorated it; beside was a white ice cream ball, it's only decoration was a smiley face on it.

Cynikka watched them both, talking while they ate ice cream, they really bonded.

"They're out" said Cynikka, jumping from the wooden bench.

In the distance they could see the two of them going out from the building.

"Come on guys" said Cynikka, starting to go after them.

Sidefall and Thomas followed her, their ice cream bowls still on their hands.

Meanwhile, Fluixon immediately noticed the strange trio that was following them.

"Cynikka and Thomas?" said Saparata, who was also aware of his followers. "Didn't knew they were close."

"I didn't think they even acknowledged the existence of eachother" said Fluixon. "And what's that other guy?"

"I think that's Sidefall."

"Sidefall?" said Fluixon surprised. "Isn't he like the biggest enemy of Infernus only behind Linguilini and his mafia? How is he beside Cynikka?"

"Don't know. Just ignore them, God knows what they're doing."

So they continued walking, but now, their objective was trying to lose the strange trio by walking in crowded places and doing multiple sudden turns into alleys.

But the three of them were persistent and followed their trail like some kind of (very bad) private detectives.

"Why are you following us?" asked Fluixon, scaring the trio after they turned a corner and found Fluixon and Saparata waiting for them.

Cynikka, who was leading the group just turned back silently and dragged Sidefall in front of her, offering him like some kind of sacrifice. The guy was still holding his half finished ice cream bowl, already melting into a puddle of black and dark turquoise liquid, he had a plastic spoon in his mouth, still enjoying his ice cream before he was grabbed by Cynikka.

Fluixon raised a brown, waiting for an answer. Saparata looked at him, there was a little glimpse of curiosity.

Sidefall swallowed the ice cream and taking out the spoon from his mouth started to explain everything (and by everything it means that everything, ice creams included) under the deadly gaze of Fluixon that reminded him a lot to Cynikka's.

When he finished explaining Fluixon looked like he would jump at his throat at any moment, while Saparata just enjoyed the scene.

"So you're looking for undeniable proof?" asked Saparata.

Sidefall just nodded slowly.

"I'll help you. Not gonna lie to the media" said Saparata before grabbing Fluixon and giving him a sudden kiss.

"What the hell!?" shouted Fluixon after pushing Saparata away, his face was completely red.

"I've got it!" shouted Thomas excited, showing his phone.

"Send it Thomas, I need it" said Cynikka, Sidefall nodded.

"THOMAS!!!" shouted Fluixon. "Delete that photo NOW!!!"

But Thomas just ran away, Cynikka and Sidefall did the same and immediately followed Thomas, leaving the pair behind.

"My undeniable proof!" said Sidefall, his eyes glowing from enthusiasm.

"I'm going to print copies of this and stick it all over his room" said Cynikka with a diabolical look that showed that wasn't the only thing she'll be doing.

"Fluxarata's real guys" said Thomas, recording the audio he would send to everyone in The Conspiracy group alongside the image, and were those tears in his eyes?

That following Monday, Sidefall published a new article, the shortest he had ever made and with only one image. And there was no longer comments of people questioning his proof.
