Chapter 1: All in
Chapter Text
In the deserted wasteland in which was now our home far far away, was a place home to a notorious rebellious gang
And I,Kusuo had the misfortune of joining this gang
It was a gang that was built on freedom and hope
Hope that our voices could stretch far to a planet unbeknownst to us humans
I dare call myself human with these powers..
But it’s what mom would have wanted
Strange.
After the alien invasion that took over our world the moment I was born,
it seems that all that remains in my life is simply my brother at the back of my mind
Sometimes I wonder whether or not they came for my powers, considering how alienated I feel from my very own “friends”
Although my time in anakt garden felt like a fever dream of trauma and confusion, the only thing that seems to make sense is when I lost that round
I aimed for an average score, nothing astonishing but enough to keep me living another day
It’s strange really..I don’t usually embrace basic human emotion and act them out like a theatrical experience, yet it’s not like these feelings are null in my mind
I still felt them.
I still felt them when kusuke died, that feeling of blue and lake waters with wilted flowers
I still felt them when I met teruhashi, that popular pretty girl who everyone wanted to be with or be like,a seed planted by the divine perfecting herself to that of a god
She was the concrete definition of beauty and purity but purity is a hard thing to keep up with
Their were times where I would peer over at teruhashi and I would see a hoard of men crowding her sight—all up in her line of vision as they proded their sticky fingers on her neck, face and chest like a cash prize
But for some reason she simply can’t just back off and say stop, because if she does then her reputation is ruined
I remember hearing from other aliens that one of her lovers killed himself the moment they competed against
Unfortunately during my time at anakt garden I never got a chance to compete with her because if I did, they will see that pretty perfect woman laying silently on that stage, with her golden blood which dripped down to the ground
If that did happen per say, then those aliens would suck up her blood like holy water
But I would never want to see someone destroy their figure by a person like me
Sometimes I regret not scooping her up and teleporting to the rebellion gang, but I didn’t even know its existence in the first place.
I blame myself for not using something to save her
I remember the moment I was taken from the stage when I lost, when auira and torisuka grabbed my by my hand and pushed me away
With that logo bedazzled in gems and glitter,it stood out of the crowd like an orange on an apple tree
Impossible
“Hey kusuo wanna sing your part?”
A yellow haired girl blocks my vision, her eyes painted in bold eyeshadow and her clothing sprinkled on with pink lace and skinny jeans
A tank top is sprayed on with the logo of the rebellion asserting her authority, with a silver chain which falls into That orb of fortune
My fingers grip onto the spoon with coffee jelly,as I bring it to my lips, chewing slowly because these things don’t come cheap
“It’s fine..continue your other songs”I murmur, dipping some cream into the coffee jelly
Torisuka jumps out from behind auira, his hair messily bunched into that little ponytail, which is tied by a white peice of cloth. His wrists and neck are also decorated in that same red beads which jangle every step he takes, for some reason
When I asked him about it,he said its for religion, but in a world where our own planet That god created is destroyed and abandoned, does that mean god is still looking for us?
Space is a very complex place indeed
“Come on kusuo!!!you won’t even think about it your amazing!!”
“If only I wasn’t”
Both Auria and torisuka plead with their hands pressed against each other, smiles frowned like a child.eyes watering down pools of water
I ignore their pleading and face the stage, the microwave hoping for a voice to speak up
“I’ll buy you an extra coffee jelly?”Torisuka blurts out
“Make that five and a deal”

Chapter Text
The cold, hard floor slightly stung her feet, as her eyes gazed over the image looming at her vision.
A sheet of a man with pink hair, scuffed and tired and filled with exhaustion, flowed to her gaze.
His shiny green glasses were tilted at an angle so beautiful it felt as if a god had adjusted them perfectly to an angular degree.
Teruhasi lifted her hands to his face, his eyes which were so solemn and inscrutable, all while looking ethereal like a sun-kissed tomato.
Her touch felt soft but planted onto the scrap sheet.
Touching back at her was the cold, stoned, bricked divide of the world.
She thought the gods had saved her, yet why were her endless prayers and silent tears all washed away down the drain and into the gluttony of those who kept her all alone and insane?
They made her feel entrapped in her own skin, that of which she often hoped of a man in shining armour to rescue her and swoop her away in her arms.
Yet it was the everlasting dream which played out a jouska in her mind.
All that was possible.
Why must her perfect image, so handcrafted by the likes of Aphrodite, be hunted down with endless eyes constantly watching as she sang on the stage?
“When will you come, oh dear…” she sighed, her breath leaving out a slight float as it dissipated with the hum and buzz and shim.
With blue hair that flowed round the room like silk, she counted each one of those eyes which followed her, the red shine which blazed her retina.
Her knees make a stand, and her fingers snapped off the heads which gazed at her.
Each labelled with a language no organism can understand.
Teruhashi knew many languages and spent many days simply reading and immersing in sagas, stories, songs and such.
Yet was this calligraphy something drawn on by Satan himself?
It makes sense why something so disgusting could be created by someone so cruel.
No wonder her prayers weren’t answered.
One down, 6 more to go.
——————
The den is draped with cloths and wood, the place littered with cans and bottles all stacked to make a tower.
Auria and toriska place their fingers round a rustic table, their eyes scanning through and highlighters were scribbled and scattered.
Ink scribbles round the sheet of paper, eyes darting round and round.
“We could take the back exit…?” torisuka points out, as he scribbles onto the square infront of him as the finger left behind still rattling on the table.
Auria looks back, her fingers and eyes gazing at the sheet, her voice mumbles out before increasing in intensity.
“No because those damn robots are there watching everyone’s move, if we go in we are getting shot at.”
Torisuka and auria both sigh unanimously while saiki simply zones off.
No one really knows what’s in his mind but it’s clear that it’s not about the mission itself.
But what they dont know was that saiki was using his clairvoyance to find Teruhashis exact location.
Which the others never really noticed or even tried yet.
Eyes crossed and finger on the poster, teruhashi face came into view.
Her face so radiant and her eyes so beautiful yet the truth was her aura was gone, just like her passion for music.
Although saiki so badly wanted to look away, he simply couldn’t, because maybe their was that hope of saving her.
“Yare yare,” he thought to himself, pushing up his glasses once more.
——-
And there he was.
In her room.
The truth is it was definitely not her room, just white walls and bright lights and illumination which was burning his skin and the cameras making his skin crawl.
To his corner, heaps of sweet potato and brown rice and cucumbers and salads all crawling and lingering and decaying, leaving a mush of textures and tastes not even he would want to eat.
Yet on the corner opposite that was stacks and stacks of pills all fleshed out and used, with old water cups simply at rest.
He watched solemnly as teruhashi began adjusting each and every one of those red cameras, her slim pale fingers fading into blue, as her bones were shown in a conjoined and twisted burial of skin.
Her hair, which used to smell like coconut and vanilla, now was covered with a faint stench of grease and dust.
“Teruhashi,” he spoke, hoping she could hear him with his voice, yet it flew from one rear to another, fading away into obscurity.
Saiki finally sighed once more, before teleporting himself back into the den.
Auria turns first with her eyes wide and her mouth ready to ramble but before she could speak torisuka yelled out:
“WHERE THE HELL WERE YOU MAN? YOU CANT JUST GO?”
The pink haired scruffy boy sighed in disbelief as he perks up his glasses while staring at the pathetic little man he is.
Eyes squinting.
Saiki didn’t want to burst in saying what he saw, her perfect image would be destroyed and no matter how sick she was, she wouldn’t want anyone to know the state she is in.
So he sighed, pushed his glasses to hide his eyes and said:
“I know where she is.”
