Flashback
During Bumblebees time with the Maltos, Optimus asked to lay low for him since ghost were putting the pieces together. And of course, he wasn't as eager to accept it since the new Terrans Hashtag, Jawbreaker, and Nightshade were born not to long ago. Even though it was a long time to be away from the Terrans and the Maltos, Bee did feel the need to take a break from teaching and to be honest the task wasn't even that hard, all he had to do was stay hidden for about 10-12 earth months. Luckily, he was still able to keep contact with Dot and Alex.
Once the yellow bot got there, he realized how much the place stunk, like literally. Mold was creeping in through the already smashed windows, vines growing all over the abandoned warehouse. Since he going to be there for quite a while he decided to fix the place up, how hard could it even be, maybe in the future he could even after his mission bring the kids here to explore for a lesson.
It took few solar cycles for Bee to fix the place up, it was as easy as he thought it was to be, since he had to kill the mold, fix the broken windows, get rid of the dust, and so on, but it was definitely worth it in the end. The place looked pretty good for it to be an abandon warehouse In Bees eyes the mission wasn't as exciting as he hoped, especially when he learnt that he was looking for mini-cons.
During his stay Breakdown, his sparkmate, actually called up over his com-link a few times, Bee was lucky Breakdown actually sat down long enough to give him a call. Although Breakdown was determined in getting his location after figuring out, he was in hiding by himself, but after a few calls and a very persistent Breakdown begging the yellow both to let him come over at least a million times he gave in. Bee always had a soft spot for his friend even if he would race knowing Ghost was probably on his tail pipe.
When Breakdown got Bee to spill his location, he wasted no time and immediately drove to the coordinates given to him. He was surprised how fixed up the place looked after Bee told him it was an abandon warehouse. and even more surprised in how short it took him to finish this whole thing
The two ended up enjoying each other's company, A LOT, and since Breakdown was a persistent little stunticon, one thing led to another and they ended up interfacing, and Bee couldn't lie since he generally really enjoyed himself. Him and Breakdown did interface a few times before that so it was nothing out of the ordinary for them.
After a couple of days, Breakdown ended leaving, something about a race, he would have asked Bee to join him but knew he would say no since he was supposed to be hanging low. Once he left Bumblebee was bored out of his fragging processor, he had nothing to do, and his only source of entertainment and comfort left.
He could call or even text Dorothy and Alex, but he was hesitant in distracting them from taking care of the kids and keeping up with what other things they had to do. So, he spent most of his time in recharging or watching nature do its thing.
After a few earth months went by Bee noticed his stomach beginning to grow, and his spark aching unlike anything he ever felt, but he ignored it and concluded that he was just eating more since he was bored all the time. Even after cutting his diet in half the pain and aching was still there but he ignored it.
Dot and Alex did end up visiting a few times, showing him pictures and videos of all the kids telling the camera about their day and how much they miss them. Bee missed them too but was disappointment he couldn't visit them and that they couldn't even visit him either. Luckily Dot promised to tell them Bee said hello. Even then he didn't feel the need to tell them about his pains since he didn't want to cause them more worry.
It was during his 8- or 9-month mark when he knew something was definitely wrong with him, his stomach was still growing and his spark pain started feeling unbearable. Bee finally decided to run a self-diagnostic on himself to actually see what was happening with his body.
Bumblebee would never forget that moment, the moment time froze, all because of a notification that popped up on his HUD. "Congratulations Bumblebee, you are soon to have a sparkling" it read. His whole frame tensed up, he could hear the thumping of his spark, the crickets outside the warehouse.
This would mean, Breakdown was the sire of his sparkling. He would have never thought he would be a carrier especially since he wasn't even conjunxed. Sure, him and Breakdown fragged around a little and were sparkmates, but they were always careful, but he couldn't say the same about the most recent frag. He was so touched starved he lost all focus of any type of outcome that could have occurred.
About a thousand questions ran through his processor, what would happen to the sparkling, how would he raise them, where would he raise him. How would he tell Breakdown, better yet how would he get the racer to stop running off like he always did.
Bumblebee knew the first thing he would have to do is tell Dot or Alex about this, he could deal with telling the others later. He decided to ask one of them to come since he knew the kids couldn't be left alone, so he just texted them both to see who was free and it turned out to be Dot.
Bee ended up telling Dot everything that happened, including the interfacing part which including a small scolding from her about not being careful. But she understood and promised to tell Alex when he finished up with work. Before she left, she promised to be there for Bee whenever she could.
Now all he had to do what tell Breakdown....
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Present {10 Months into hiding}
Dot and Alex carefully walked into the warehouse where Bumblebee and his newborn sparkling were. It was quiet but it wasn't an eerily quiet more of a peaceful quiet, the view in front of them astonishing, Bumblebee holding his sparkling who was deep in recharge. The sparkling's color was strong in resemble to Breakdowns, the red, blue, white, and a little bit of black on the helm
"He's adorable!" Dot exclaimed keeping her voice low, so she didn't disturb the sleeping sparkling.
"Surprised he didn't get any of your colors" Alex mentioned writing down in a little journal that had Bees face on the cover.
"Me too, especially since he's a mix of colors." Bee responded angling the sparkling so the humans could get a better view and also keep the sparkling comfortable.
"If you squint your eyes, he kind of looks like you" Dot said with a fond look on her face.
"You're not wrong there" Bumblebee gleamed.
"What's his name?" The professor asked looking up from his journal for the first time in a few kliks.
"Starscream."
"Thats a beautiful name." Dot encouraged watching as Starscream stirred in his sleep. "And just 2 months before your able to come back!"
"I know the kids are going to love to see you!" Alex added on.
Bumblebee nodded. "I hope so, but I think I need to ask Optimus to come over first so I can explain..him" He cheekily smiled using his helm to point at the sparkling.
"You haven't told him yet?" Alex question, his expression showed a look of confusion.
"Not yet, but I'm sure I'll have too sooner or later"
"Lets just hope he doesn't try and slice Breakdown into pieces" Dorothy joked.
"That part" Bee sighed.
"I can ask Megs to get him in a good mood before you ask" Dot suggested in a warm tone.
"That would be great!" Bee gleamed, his smiling reaching his optics.
"Have you told breakdown?" Alex questioned sitting down on a nearby chair that Dot had brought last time she visited.
There was a brief moment of silence before Bee chook his helm causing Dot to raise a human eyebrow.
"We talked about this already, he deserves to know" She softly spoke as she moved closer to Bumblebee.
"I know, it's just, there's never a good time to tell him". The yellow bot weakly reasoned his optics glance away from Dorthys eyes.
Bumblebee wasn't particularly wrong since most the times he called Breakdown he either wouldn't answer, or he was always about to race. So, after a while Bee just stopped trying every solar cycle and only a few earth days a week.
"When's the last time you spoke with him? Alex asked watching Dot gently stroke Bees ankle.
"I think a couple of days ago" He mumbled.
"You should text him right now to come over!"
"Are you sure Dot? Bee spoke out his helm tilting slightly.
"I'm very sure" she confidently stated watching Bee as he moved to Breakdowns contact.
She always loved the profile picture Bumblebee had for Breakdown, just a simple moment from last Christmas during the gift exchange with Breakdown giving Bee an actually happy smile.
While Bee was figuring out how to text Breakdown, he felt movement in his arms. The 3 watched as Starscreams optics fluttered open while his little frame rumbled out a small yawn.
"Looks like someone's awake" Alex chuckled in amazement when the sparkling snuggled closer to Bees chassis.
"He seems to really find you warm" Dot joked. "Reminds me of Robby and Mo"
"Speaking of, how are the kids?" the yellow bot asked.
"Their pretty good, there excited that they will get to see you soon!" Alex quickly replied looking through his phone for a picture of all the kids.
"So, when do you plan on telling them about Starscream?". Dorothy questioned.
The question had kind of caught Bumblebee of guard since he totally forgot about having to tell them about Starscream. He knew who had to tell them since Optimus told him after his hiding, he could go back to being the Terrans mentor.
"To be honest, I have no idea" He cheekily responded.
Dorothy was about to give an idea until the sparkling started chirping and beeping like he was giving an idea of his own.
"Seems he has an idea of his own." Alex joked.
Bee gently placed Starscream onto his lap, all of them watching as the sparklings optics widen at the sight. He seemed amazed by the humans staring right back him causing him to let out a small static gurgle.
"He seems really wowed by you two" Bumblebee hinted, earning a small nod and chuckle from Dorothy and Alex.
"Cant say im surprised, we are amazing" Dot teased.
Starscream continued to make small chirping sounds trying to figure out the deal with Dot and Alex.
The calm atmosphere was interrupted by the sound of two different devices letting out a small ping. One was Alexs and Dots phone, and the other one was Bees HUD.
"The kids just texted, Arcees going to be leaving soon so we should start heading back" Alex spoke out standing up from his seated position.
"I guess this is goodbye Bee" Dot smiled as her and Alex waved him goodbye walking out of the doors of the warehouse.
Bumblebee watched as the two left until he remembered that he had gotten a notification from Breakdown a couple of kliks ago. He quickly opened the notification and began reading it.
"I got you Pretty Bee, I'll be there in a few" Bee mumbled reading alone the lines before being interrupted by a loud squeal coming from Starscream.
"What's wrong with you?" the yellow bot managed to get out rubbing Starscream tiny cheek.
Starscream tried to wiggle out of his carriers hold but failed miserably when Bee held him more firmly.
"You seem happy that your sire's coming." He joked watching as Starcream showed a huge smile on his face plate
Bumblebee took the time he had to figure out how he was going to tell Breakdown about their sparkling. To be honest, he never thought he would make it this far in his steps to telling Breakdown. But his biggest fear was how he would react, would he help raise Starscream, or just leave the responsibility all on Bee.
It took a couple of breems, but Bumblebee finally heard the sound of an engine, and he could tell that engine sound from anywhere, it was Breakdown. Bee quickly rose up from where he was sitting making sure Starscream didn't fall out of his hold.
This was really happening.
"I'm here Pretty Bee!!" He heard the other bot announce as he opened the garage door. Bumblebee was going to do something with Starscream so Breakdown wouldnt go into shock as soon as he walked in, but he didn't have time as he saw his sparklings sire walk in
"No welc-"
Breakdown was cut off by nothing extremely crazy, but instead, it was the sight in front of him that had him in shock. Bumblebee, but there was something, someone, in his arms, he thought his processor was playing with his optics but it wasn't. His sparkmate was holding, a sparkling. Something he'd never thought he see after the war on Cybertron started.
"Um..Hi Breakdown!" Bee hesitantly spoke out, sheepishly waving towards the shocked bot while Starscream started happily chirping his little spark away like he was waiting for this day.
"Is that a..."
"Sparkling? Yes" the yellow bot finished avoiding Breakdowns glaze as he walked closer to him and Starscream.
After seeing the view in front of him he had one question.
"Is he mine? Breakdown asked, his voice barely above whispered.
Bee nodded at the question. "I know I should have told you early"
The sparkling began reaching out for Breakdown, his smile still on his tiny face from when he walked into the warehouse. His sire was hesitant for a nanoklik but soon reached out his servos to take the little one. When Starscream was completely into his Breakdowns hold he snuggled close to his sires chassis.
"He seems to really like you" Bumblebee spoke trying to ease the tension in the room watching Breakdowns gaze soften slightly until they looked back at him.
"We're not even conjunxed!" the stunticon mentioned his voice slightly slower than before.
"I know, but that doesn't mean we can't raise him together, and we could get conjunxed in the future" Bee tried to suggest his expression betraying his tone.
"I should probably tell you something..."
The sudden sentence caught Bee off guard. "You don't want to get conjunxed?" the yellow bot mumbled feeling his optics water. Starscream probably seeing how his carrier almost started crying, he soon had tears in his optics. So, the next thing Bee and Breakdown know, Starscream putting his name to use
"He's crying what do I do?!" Breakdown blurted holding Starscream out like he might explode in the next few kliks.
"You don't hold him like that!" Bee swiftly responded taking the sparkling from his sparkmates grasp.
"How was I supposed to know that Pretty Bee!" Breakdown shot back crossing his arms with a pout.
Bumblebee began slowly rocking Starscream for a brief moment, but it didn't seem to work as the sparkling continued crying.
"Aren't you supposed to know what to do? AND WHY IS HE SO LOUD" Breakdown questioned watching Bee walk to a nearby makeshift counter with a baby bottle that looked to be filled with energon.
"Hey, I'm still getting used to this!" Bee responded picking up the nearby bottle causing Breakdown to rise an optical ridge, while Starscream continued to cry which started sounding more like static and geting louder.
"How'd you get a bottle?"
"Dot got Nightshade to make it a while ago" the yellow mech mentioned walking towards the makeshift bed as Breakdown followed.
Bumblebee held the bottle to Starscreams derma, watching as the sparkling quickly latched onto the tip. The echoing cries stopped and were replaced by the sound of relaxing vents causing Bee and Breakdown to let out a sigh.
"He must've been really hungry" Breakdown quietly joked glancing between his sparkmate and Starscream, receiving a small nod from Bee.
There was a few breems of peaceful silence before Bumblebee silently handed Starscream back to Breakdown catching him off guard, but he gladly accepted and took the sparkling into his grasp.
"Who else did you tell?" the stunticon gently spoke this time, feeling Starscream snuggle into his chassis like earlier.
"Only Dorothy & Alex" Bee admitted holding out a single digit for the sparkling to hold to which Starscream immediately took.
"You didn't tell Optimus?"
"I was planning on doing it before I left hiding" He responded watching as Breakdowns expression went from shock back to his neutral expression.
"What about the kids you've been hanging out with? The Terrans?" Breakdown added on.
"No not yet, but I plan on telling them too"
"Why not just tell them at the same time?" the stunticon suggested, feeling Starscream touch his cheek.
"Thats a good Idea!" Bee acknowledged. "Also earlier..."
"I asked if you didn't want to get conjunxed, and you didn't answer..." the yellow bot calmly mentioned, the tension growing sharp.
"It's not it,Pretty Bee!" Breakdown reassured leaning closer to Bee to where there were only a few earth centimeters between them, then placing a small kiss on his sparkmates cheek
"Then what is it?" Bumblebee questioned tilting his helm, a habit Breakdown always thought was cute
Breakdown took a deep breath..
"I have to leave the country for a while"
