Finally…
Finally after millions of years…
After countless journeys…
Your talons sunk into the hard earth of the chasm where the two of you found it. Countless small little sparks floated up, painting the skies even brighter than the stars ever could. You watched as the painted dark shadows across the visage of your partner. The deep gray plates almost looked black in the light
Her red optics met yours, blazing with all the hope that you had been longing for this whole time. You could get so easily lost in those optics, with how the light flickered upon them. The sparks refracting through her lenses created prismatic rays, shining upon your own plates.
Your companion inched ever closer to you, placing their hands upon the soft forge inside your chassis. Her husky voice dropped down low as she nestled her head atop your own. The warmth of her body spread through every cable, every circuit inside of you.
A little part of the steel within began turning around, reacting to the newfound warmth of your partner. It even kicked, enough to throw you off your balance for just a moment before recovering.
“Hey starlight…” You reached your hand out for theirs, feeling the warm steel curve its way around your own hand. It only took a gentle tug of your own to place her hand over your forge. “Look at what we made.”
Her hands grazed over your forge, examining every inch of the new sparkling forging itself inside of you.
A husky voice escaped from your partner’s lips. “Are you ready?”
You fervently nodded. It had been years of trying. At first, forges would deny you and Starscream on sight. Finally when you came alone, they would be down, or the operation would fail… or no spark would even house the chassis they had built. Through some trick of fate, every time you tried to have a sparkling, it would fail.
Until Starscream, ever the clever bot, told you about a specific kind of reproduction, something organics do. It took years, perhaps even centuries to truly figure out how to transfer it to bots. Both bots had to combine parts of their living metal, enough for the metal to gain a new form. But it had to be kept alive.
Starscream cradled your forge for just a moment, offering a small reassurance to the creature housed within. Now it was time. The hardest part of this process was to create the spark. The little bot could only be sustained by your body. It could never live outside of it until now.
You watched as Starscream caught one of the sparks in midair, cupping it gently between her hands. The prismatic hues appeared once again, but this time covering all of Starscream’s surface. Every joint of your chassis relaxed at the sight. With her gray plates, every color got a chance to shine across her.
For a second, you were stuck in time, watching the dizzyingly dazzling light show. But your trance was cut off as Starscream moved one hand up to cup your jaw. The motion was smooth, languid and fluid as she tilted your faceplate up so you were eye to eye with her own. It took every single instinct not to pounce up and kiss her on the spot right then. But you had restraint, as you knew what was required.
Her hand gently opened up your jaw, running a finger over your bottom lip, as if she was attempting to memorize every dent in the metal. You stood slack-jawed at the motion, awaiting whatever Starscream was going to do next.
As the seconds passed by, Starscream brought her other hand to your lips, pouring the spark down as if it was the sweetest honey the galaxy had to offer. It tasted the same, slowly pouring down your throat, warming each part of your chest like a fine whiskey.
Slowly, each of your circuits ignited, cascading all the way down your body until it reached your forge. There, it lit an inferno inside of you. The tiny bot, once helpless and dependent entirely on your body, began writhing unpredictably inside of you. They stomped on the edge of your forge, leaving tiny little footprints visible from the outside.
You practically beamed with joy, looking up at Starscream and closing the gap between the two of you with a fervent kiss. You ravenously devoured their lips, trying to capture exactly how elated you felt at this very moment. Through small tidbits, between you pulling away and repositioning yourself, you managed to cry out with joy. “Starscream! I can feel it! It's moving! We did it!”
“Of course, Shiresong. Of course we did.” Her husky voice only heightened the frenzy you were in. It was like a spell had been cast over you, like a beautiful mist flying through the air.
After all, every second of your life led up to this.
This exact moment.
The sparkling kept kicking. Each one more powerful than the last. “This one’s going to be a strong one, I just know it, Starscream! It’s got a warriors feist!”
As if on cue, the little warrior burst through the metal cage that had held it prisoner for so long. Immediately your gut was hit with a tidal wave of pain, as the metal ripped apart and shattered.
Your body fell limp against the floor, as the tiny little triceratops burst out of you. It crawled up Starscream’s leg until it found purchase on her broad chest, just as you had minutes ago. Only Starscream held it much more gently, allowing it to suckle for as long as the little jet-dino needed to.
When you tried to reach a hand up, your body fiercely rejected it, forcing it back down into the puddle of purge that was flowing across the earth, permeating into the soil with every second. It would not be long until your fuel tank was completely emptied.
You looked up to those prismatic optics you once found solace in, and found nothing but cold red pools of LEDs.
“S-Starscream…” Your vocalizer barely cracked out.
She looked down at you, and kicked your shell away with her foot.
“Thank you for your contribution Shiresong…” She started, her voice gravelly and hawkish. “You’ve been an excellent forge for me!”
Pick me up! You wanted to say. Take me to Knockout! Or anyone! Please! Darling, it’s me!
She hissed, almost as if in response to your thoughts. “I hope you enjoy a rather deep grave, darling!”
The last feeling you felt was her foot clanking against your empty shell. Your weight shifted slightly, until you were weightless. The light above you shrunk into a tiny slit in the sky, shining with glittering starlight.
And then there was nothing more.
