Work Text:

Billie sighed softly as he trudged through the streets of this shitty town he lived in, clear wet crystals beginning to fall from the heavens as they landed in his greasy brown hair. He shoved his hands into his pockets, fiddling with some paper he had scrunched up inside his palm. When he arrived home a while later, he gave his mother—the sweetest woman known to god's nonexistent ass—a hug as she smiled and said something about him getting "all grown up" and his brother was bickering with their sister over something, before he hurried up the stairs to his room. He opened his bedroom door, being greeted by Tré sat on his bed, skimming through some novel the older boy had borrowed from their school library.

As soon as he shut the door, Tré's head lifted and he smiled as Billie came and sat down on the bed next to him. "Hey, Bill," Tré mumbled, giving Billie a kiss on the forehead as he felt the boy smile against his neck.

"Hey, Tré." The older boy pressed a soft peck against Tré's neck, holding the boy gently in his arms as they cuddled quietly. Tré buried his face in the guitarist's curly brown hair, playing with the locks between his fingers. At some point, Billie raised his head and Tré gave him this sweet smile he loved so much and the older boy leaned in slowly and pressed a soft, loving kiss to his lips.

He loved this boy so, so much.

There was no lust in the kiss—no greed, or steam. Only sweet, affectionate love—a love only shared between lovers, the kind of love that made your chest swell up and that made you just think, "fuck I love this person so god damn much"—much-needed affection and pure, beautiful love.

They stayed in the kiss for a few moments before pulling away and holding each other close. Billie needed this. No matter how shitty his day had been, no matter what his classmates had called him, Tré always made Billie's day just that bit better.

To others, it wasn't much. But to Billie, it felt like pure rays of sunshine had been mixed with homosexuality and humour and placed inside a person's soul and whatever higher being up there was like, "oh, you made a new person? Send him in, give it to that kid there" and blessed Billie with him.

And you know what?

Billie loved Tré so, so much. Despite both their flaws and their problems, they were in love, and nothing could ever take that way from them. And he was thankful for that.

Maybe, just maybe, things were starting to look up in Billie's life.
