One Death for Another
Tony felt his death coming on right after his “teammate” Ziva, shot him in the chest. On that Israeli tarmac, after he dared survive her father’s questioning and was let go.
He was aware enough to say goodbye to the suddenly grieving Gibbs, as he felt the call of the Spirit Plane he had longed to belong to calling him.
He had been forever Latent, with Gibbs having been driven Dormant due to his girls’ deaths, Tony had felt they had been quite the pair when they had been together as a team.
His Spirit watched as Gibbs dove deep into his grief again and he had tried to comfort him as best as he could. But in the end couldn’t stop the one who would have been his Sentinel from eating his service pistol.
And then they were both gone.
Tony got the feeling the Plane wasn’t happy with the actions taken by others that forced their deaths. As he realized that there had been a concerted effort by his father to keep him from gaining his Guide status over his lifetime, with drugs in his various drinks. And in the Yard that task had fallen to the little mouse of an aid in the coffee shop they had all gone too. Someone he would have to see picked up if he got the chance, he thought he was about to.
Their Spirits together, yet apart, found themselves flying over the Naval Docks to see the familiar sight of families lined up to see loved ones coming home from serving abroad and yet it seemed familiar to them both.
Flying further still they came to a much more familiar sight of the firefight between their team and Haswarri’s terrorists as the terrorists prepared to take out the families nearby.
Their local bodies arriving and shooting at the buildings where the terrorists were. Getting out and preparing to assail the building where Kate had been killed by sniper shot, they merged with their bodies. They were both now online. As the Spirit Plane demanded them to be. To fix the mistakes that had forced its hand to bring them back to this place.
Instead of running up to be in the kill shot range of the sniper, Tony forced Kate against the building as he caught his breath and tried to get his bearings on his new abilities. Gibbs did the same with McGee.
“Tony? What the fuck?” Called out the blessed voice of an alive Kate. He just kept her in place and called out to the one he knew was his Sentinel, who was almost feral, to go around and take Ari out quietly.
Gibbs needed no other word as he padded off on his Hunt, to take out the DANGER to HIS TRIBE. And Tony, kept his team behind on the ground and out of the kill shot range till he got word the danger to his tribe was over.
He ordered Kate to guard their tech, McGee as he was to set up next to the building and start to block the signal for the drone from being used. And he enforced his will on her to get her to obey the order, as he took out his phone and started a text to the Center that there was a newly awakened S/G pair in need of aid and pinned down by enemy fire and gave the GPS coordinates based on the phone.
Getting an order to stay put help was on the way.
Tony’s nebulous connection on his Sentinel to keep him grounded and to keep watch on him, found Gibbs on the same roof top as their enemy, and taking his own kill shot at him as Ari laid prone to keep his eyes on that roof top their team of old had glibly run up and around on with no care that they were in kill shot range of the snipers.
The shot taking out the brains of Ari were muffled by the shots ringing around them, and those same shots muffled Tony’s “gotcha you bastard.” And from there he monitored Gibbs heading off with Ari’s sniper rifle to take the war to the other shooters in action against them as the S&G teams started to arrive. Tony texting them as to what was going on and that the enemy’s leader was down by his newly online Sentinel Hunt.
McGee was keeping the explosive drone out of action for now as the new hunting teams split up and went after the new DANGERS TO THE NAVAL TRIBE and were set to take them down permanently.

While the outgoing Morrow was amused by the whole thing of the hunt by S&G teams and Gibbs, the new, incoming Director, Shepard, was not. As the one who had been the daughter of the Deputy Director of Mossad, had also been taken out by the hunters. And she had been left to explain why Ziva would no longer be an Asset in place for the two of them to Eli.
Eli removed all cooperation he had promised Shepard in her revenge due to this, and she went off the tracks quickly. Demanding the Bonding Gibbs and Tony be made to appear before her to answer for their actions. Showing up at the S&G Center where she had been told they were sequestered in the Bonding Suite and was ranting and raving about the two conspiring against her in their actions at the shootout.
She was remanded by the Guides at the Center to be given a psych exam.
She failed.
Owen Granger was quickly put in her place and Davenport also quickly removed his support from her.
Shepard stayed in the psych center till her own death from her tumor a few years later. Ending any legacy that had brought Eli to the agency and the deaths of the Spirit Plane’s newest Alpha’s of the East Coast. Who would go on to further stop other threats to their territory.
