Work Text:

Stars. The extent of his love for them was so great that it led to him destroying everything he knew for them, their light and their acceptance. As he watched the stars dance around him, seemingly mocking him, Bill felt trapped in time, drifting in this endless void. Wow, he must really be crazy if he thought the stars could make fun of him, he thought as he laughed. Ha! As if! However, as he attempted to chuckle, his form began to ache horribly. Normally Bill would find such pain amusing since he had possessed people to feel it, which he found pleasant. But now the pain wasn’t funny or enjoyable; rather, it ached so much that he really thought he was done for.

The Axolotl floated in front of him, and the entity sighed. “I had hoped you would have given up on world dominance.”

“Oh frills, when will you finally get the idea stuck in your hollow head? I’m a being of pure energy who runs on nightmare fuel! Of course I’m not going to give up on world domination! It’s what I live for!” He cackled. Once again the seething pain clawed its way throughout Bill’s fragile form.

“You wouldn’t want to be in this state much longer,” The Axolotl murmured, his gaze fixed on Bill, watching him struggle. But something in the Axolotl’s eyes made Bill want to reorder every single one of The Axolotl’s atoms into alphabetical order. Pity. He was pitying him. Pitying the one who was the most feared being in the multiverse. Ridiculous.

Bill burned red with rage before collapsing onto his knees in another terrible wave of anguish. “AHH” “MAKE IT STOP, YOU EXCUSE OF A SALAMANDER!” Bill screamed.

The Axolotl took a breath and snapped his fingers. Bill gasped on the floor, trying to recover. “I am sorry Bill but I am not able to fully restore your form, it’s quite difficult to restore something that’s been shattered out of existence” He stated, “You will most likely have a permanent scar across your form.”

“WHAT?!” Bill screeched, crawling up to his feet. “Give me a mirror or something!! I need to see how bad it is.” The Axolotl frowned but formed a mirror out of thin air and handed it over to Bill. “MY FACE!! My beautiful face is ruined!! All because of that stupid hick Pines family!” Bill hissed. “How dare they? First they decide to ruin my plans of world domination, and now this? Can’t a triangle do anything around here without someone messing it up for him!”

The Axolotl looked down at Bill. “Little Star, you're not helping yourself in this situation.”

Bill glared up at him. “Well then how am I supposed to help myself, wise guy? Come on, don't be shy, spit it out!”

“I think the only thing that can help you is therapy” “So I am admitting you to the Theraprism to undergo therapy; this is what you really need to finally help you get better.”

“Therapy?!?! No, no, no, this has to be all wrong! You can’t send me to therapy. I'm a free triangle! You can’t force that stuff on top of me!” Bill protested.

“Actually I can and will send you to therapy whether you like it or not. And no you're not a free triangle anymore Bill, you’re under arrest and will serve jail time in the Theraprism alongside mandatory therapy sessions.” “There’s no getting out of this. You thought that you could cheat death by invoking my name, and you have. I’m giving you a second chance to make up for all the bad things you’ve done.”

“What?” Bill stared at The Axolotl helplessly “I’ll do anything please, Axie! Don’t send me to that hell hole!” He began to plead, but it was no use. The Axolotl escorted Bill to the Theraprism. Bill tried to put up a fight when he got inside the building but found himself flailing helpless as guards held him down. He heard them click on an ankle monitor, and he physically felt his powers drain from his body, and that was it. Bill Cipher the feared dream demon was no longer free and couldn’t hurt anyone anymore. Or at least that’s what everyone thought.
