Love, Ochako.

Summary:

Uraraka finally wants to confess to Izuku. She goes old school and uses a love letter. Unfortunately, it finds itself in the hands of someone else.

Notes:

You guys remember the My Hero play, and the part Izuku picks up the cute heart letter from Ochako and gives it back to her and when she looks bummed, she runs into Bakugou and He’s like sure see ya at 3pm? Lol.

I’ve always wanted to do this. I’m still working and waiting on other fics as well but this one will not be so long so it’ll be easier to upload. Hope you guys enjoy <3

Chapter Text

“Your second year is almost over. How do you feel?”

Uraraka bit down on her lip while she squeezed her other fingers. “This year I think the staff has took a lot of pressure off of us. I get it.. but it’s also been hard to ignore things too.”

“And what are we wanting to ignore?”

She pursed her lips as they curled. Shrugged with an exhale. “Stuff..guilt. Curiousity.. I don’t know..”

“Your guilt about Himiko Toga. Correct?”

Her eyes slid down to her lap with a brief nod.

“You feel guilt because of her upbringing. This isn’t your fault. Neither how she met her end. You understand that don’t you, Miss Uraraka?”

Uraraka agreed with a small shrug. “Sure. I didn’t make those things happen.”

“But..” her therapist knew it was coming.

Uraraka rested her arms on the chair arms. “We were around same age. Why didn’t we run into each other beforehand? I mean I didn’t have a lot of money but I went to the mall like any other normal girl. I mean surely.. surely I came across her.. Why did it only happen when she was so far deep into her hurt?..”

Her therapist pondered. “I suppose we will always question that. We know there were other options the universe could have offered and for some reason we didn’t get them.. That kind of anger and curiousity will never be answered I’m afraid.”

Uraraka for once felt like she got something she needed. Being told it all happens for a reason. Darkness before the light.. I mean thats a little annoying to hear after a while.. especially if it feels it doesn’t make sense.

“So..I just have to live with it?”

“Yes and no.”

Uraraka knitted her brows.

“Yes you have to live with life being unfair but no you shouldn’t allow this to keep you from being the hero you are. Himiko Toga lost her life, but you helped her also save herself.”

She’s heard a few times and it’s not that Uraraka was so bashful she rejected any credit due to herself but how was she suppose to feel giddy about helping someone changing their life around if they’re not here to celebrate that with.

“Did you ever talk with that young man?”

Uraraka flushed as she itched at her clothed legs. “Oh.. uhm.. I didn’t..It’s just not a good time!” Her hands waved before her.

Her therapist chuckled. “Yes. It wasn’t a good time a while ago. I agreed. A lot had happened. You had been wounded. People you loved tragically lost. There was much debris. You weren’t fighting with your friends. You had your own battle in which you nearly lost your life while others were around one another.”

“I was supported.. It was just hard for them to reach me.”

“You awakened a boost. That was going to take some time to work on as well. I hear you’re up for the international rescue program next year.”

“Yes. I’m really looking forward to that. I believe with everything Mr. Aizawa taught me, along with Gunhead and Ryuku. I’ve learn so much and I want to continue to make them proud I’ve not wasted any of their teaching nor what I been through.”

“I believe that too. This year hasn’t had the pressure of last year you mentioned. Have you been spending time with friends and loved ones?”

“Yea. Yaoyorozu will be having a pool party her parents are permitting and I can’t pretend I’m not excited.”

“Miss Yaoyorozu’s is a good student. You are good friends with her too, correct?”

“Yea! It’ll be nice to cherish the time before third year comes around.”

“I’m glad you’re willing to embrace your youth as a young woman and not just a young hero.. Which brings me back to my earlier question. Why have you not spoken to the boy you told me about?”

Uraraka fitted with herself. “If I knew how, I would have.. but it’s just he is super busy. I’m busy. Our families are with us a big amount of time. Plus, I just feel with everything that’s happened.. I couldn’t handle the rejection.”

Her therapist exhaled through her nose and nodded. “I suppose I understand that. Many girls find trouble in confessing but not many have endured all you have.”

Uraraka exited out of the counselors office. It was now almost 1pm. She was glad she didn’t have her sessions on a weekday. The walk across to the dorms felt so nice. The sun was warm but not blinding. The crisp wind was blowing her hair back.

“Come on guys, give me a turn!” Denki was heard whining once Uraraka opened the front doors of the Dorms.

“Sorry, bro but you know the rules.” Kiri kept his eyes narrowed on the common areas tv.

“I’ll remember that when you need your phone charged.”

“Aww!” Mina coo’d wrapping her arms around a pouty Kaminari crossing his arms on the couch. “You guys are mean to my son!” She pats his hair.

“Mom, tell ‘em it’s my turn.” He whined again while his foot pushed into his Kirishima’s side whose on the floor legs crossed.

“Knock it off, man!” Kiri jerked as his Kart went off the rainbow road.

”Thanks, bro!” Sero laughed.

“Serves you right, babe.” She ruffled his non gelled hair.

“Hey, how’d it go?” Jiro greeted her.

“Good.” She shrugged. “Glad to be home.” She stretched.

“You’re tired like it was training.”

“It’s worse.” Bakugou grumbled walking by.

Oh that’s right.. Bakugou also was in therapy. She supposed his was a lot of breathing exercises and such for his heart.

“Hey, Bakugou.” She waved with a chipper smile.

She was surprised to even get a nod back as he kept his eyes toward the kitchen.

“Oh, hey Kacchan!” She heard Deku’s voice come down the steps. “Jiro and I thought of the perfect thing for our group project while you were with your parents.”

Katsuki had an apple in his mouth as his brows laid down. “Well thanks for involving me!” He griped with a mouthful.

“Chill. We both come up with the idea and we think you’ll like it.” Jiro gave him the iPad to go over.

Ochako noticed Deku’s hair filled out again. Now that she thinks about it, it didn’t look that bad before. Of course she was glad about his curls coming back.

”Lurk much?” Mina whispered.

Ochako jumped out of her skin. “What?!”

“Way to be smooth, Chaks.” Mina teased.

Uraraka blushed and pouted at Mina. She was such a tease. She couldn’t wait to return the favor when the roles were reversed.

Ochako loved when parents were permitted to come visit for longer hours. They had been super busy with their business taking off again but lately her parents are making much effort to be here with her as possible.

She especially loved when it was just her and her mom. It was hard to feel that way without her dad though. He always made her laugh but one on one time with her mom was special.

They had sat on her bed and trying out different “By that face, I see you found the blue jelly filled.” Her mother giggled.

Ochakos face was twisted sourly. “Mhm!”

“So.. Grade cards are coming soon. Anything I should know?”

“Nope. I’ve been a good cookie!” Ochako beamed with a mouthful of gooey fudge.

Her mother chucked. “What about boys?”

She shrugged.

Her mother leaned in. “Come on.. I miss the days of my youth. Give me all the tea.”

Ochako snorted. “The tea huh?” She dusted off the chocolate of her hands. “I don’t know.. I’m not really involved with anyone..”

“Do you like anyone? That Todoroki is a sweet looking boy. His mother is very kind as well.”

“Yea but he’s not my type ya know..”

“What of Ida? He would be funny to hee around your dad.”

Ochako cackled. “Dad will make Ida lose his religion!” They put away some of the treats. “There is someone I guess..”

“I knew it!” Her mother giggled with excitement. “Who’s the lucky boy?”

“Well..It’s the green haired boy. Ya know the one who saved all of us pretty much.”

“My daughter shooting for the stars as always.” Her mother pinched her cheeks. “So have you two talked or-“

”No!” She made quite clear. “I never told him I liked him.”

”What? Why not? I think he’s sweet, adorable, a good hearted person. He’s obviously got a good head on his shoulders. Plus you two would almost look perfect together.”

Her mom filled her head with all these sweet things and it felt like a sweet tooth ready to rot out. It was too good to have.

“Yeah, and he never notices me that way. Anytime I think I catch him blushing at me, it always ends in him saying something about my routine or future as a hero. Nothing about just me..”

“Oh come on. Really think about it. Is that true? He’s never been more interested in just you?”

Uraraka lied back on her lounge pillow. “I guess a time I remember before the war.. I felt a little down and he said all these nice things about me and I guess then I didn’t think of it as much because of what was going on.”

“Yeah..” Her mother rubbed her knee.

“Well..That was over a year ago now.. He’s really bummed about losing his quirk but a relationship let alone a good friend coming to him confessing would just make it worse for him right now.”

“Or.. you tell him you like who he is on the inside and want to spend more time with him.. and it developes into something more.. giving him a good reason to keep being the person he is seeing if he has such a beautiful and strong girlfriend he must not be doing too bad.” She teased.

Ochako smiled and appreciated her mother’s effort. “I don’t know..”

Her mother gasped. “Oh you could do something my friends and I did back in the day.”

“What’s that?”

Her mother sat up. “We’d all make a love letter to the boys we like. We’d never sign our name but it would be decked out in glitter and our perfumes to see if they’d catch on who sent it. We’d slip it in their lockers or mailboxes and just wait.”

”Mom, that’s kinda cool! Did it work? The boy you liked?”

“Well, yeah, for about three weeks.”

”What why?”

“I don’t know.. I was thirteen at the time. A relationship seemed great at the time. Made me feel grown up.. but when I went out with him, he just was not what I expected.”

“Was he mean or something?”

”No. He was generally kind, and was a good date.. just kinda would look at him and be like.. ‘This is not my guy’.”

Ochako pondered on that. “Wow.. I guess that’s just how it works with some people.”

“But after school, I met your dad. I was glad for the things that didn’t work out ya know? But my whole point in this, Ochako is that you try. You make that effort. You take chances. Not just to risk your life, but on other things you want to try and feel for the first time and find who you are.”

It was pretty cool to hear about how her mom was brave enough to semi confess to her crush. Even if it didn’t work out for her, doesn’t mean that should stop her. Her and Izuku could either become a couple and it works out.. or it’s weird and you explode into a thousand pieces.

She shook her head and looked at all her crafts on her desk. She was glad for Mina being next door. She was also glad when asked for these things, her excuse of wanting to do fun crafts was enough to make her happy to give her what she needed and enough to know Mina wasn’t the crafty type. With nails she had, she couldn’t blame her.

Hair back, music on. She cut the paper in a heart shape. Trickled white glitter on the paper lightly for it to shine. Applying glue in the shape of hearts on the yet to be letter and applying hot pink on top of the heart shaped glue.

Carefully and neatly writing her confession. Trying to make it sound romantic but nonchalant was rough. How do you tell someone you love them, but in a friendly no pressure way?

Uraraka stood in front of his locker. It’s like it stared back at her. Giving her a ‘You sure you wanna go down this road?’ Look. But she didn’t care. She didn’t get glitter all over her desk, and annoying sticky glue over her fingers for nothing!

She slipped the small envelope in the crack of the locker. She felt her breath knocked out of her as she realized she actually did it. She signed her name even. Her mom didn’t but she couldn’t trust the perfume bit.. She uses Mina’s and that would make things so messy.

“Still mad?” Jiro snickered by Bakugou as they left class. They got an A. Katsuki was just sour he was last to know about the chosen project. He snarled a lip but it was more of a pout.

“Sorry about that, Kacchan. You gotta admit it did work out right?”

“Yeah, whatever.” He shrugged not actually caring that much of it. Opening his locker and glancing down at what fell at his feet.

“Oh and thanks for exhsncinf lockers with me too. You didn’t have-“

“Deku, drop it already.” The blonde barked but with no real bite. Katsuki was doing small things here and there to seem friendly to make up for causing so much to him growing up. Little things like volunteering to do projects with him, and changing lockers since his was next to the fountain which got cramped a lot wasn’t that big of a deal.

“Right. I’ll see you later for movie night!” The green head grinned and waved before heading off.

A spit inside Katsuki felt warm. It wasn’t like anything he did now undid what he’s done in the past.. but it feels nice to know He’s not filled with so much insecure rage.

The hell? Katsuki now picking up the letter and seeing nothing written on the envelope. He swears if this is another made up coupon Pinky does for their movie nights snacks, he’ll kill her.

Oh my god..

Chapter Text

“We’re not talking today?”

He could be doing anything today. Training. Giving his gear a tuneup. A nap. Hell anything.. but no. He has to talk to some know it all wannabe about how he’s feeling. Again.

“I talked to you two weeks ago. Did you forget how I felt then?”

The therapist never unamused by the teen across from her. One arm propped on the side with his fist supporting his chin, the other lying on his knee.

“I do. You mentioned even then you didn’t need this anymore. Correct?”

“Well I don’t.” He shrugged.

“So you’ve not had any issues? Nothing to irraticate or make you feel stressed out?”

“No.”

She cocked a brow. “Really? So a very highly skilled, top A student, highest in their ranks of his class, always sharp and who had come back from death itself has no problems at all? It’s all so easy right now?”

He gave her a blank stare. “Yeah.” He sasses.

“How are your relationships going?”

He shrugged. “They’re going.”

“You mentioned before to me once the childhood friend of yours and you have gotten closer. You’ve accomplished this?”

He flexed his jaw. “It’s been okay. Guess so.”

“You guess?”

Katsuki pondered for a bit. “He’s lost what he wanted most in his life.. I can’t get that back for him.. Least not right now..” Already planting a seed to return to him what he lost.

“You don’t want Izuku Midoriya to lose his position he’s held in your life as your rival?”

“We’re not rivals anymore.” He pouted.

“No, not really.. but rivals aren’t always a negative thing. For Professional Hero’s it’s good to feel driven to out best the other in a healthy way. It keeps you wanting to be the best you can be. If you’re going to be a hero and no doubt you’ve proven that. It’s important to remember that.”

He briefly took that in without verbally agreeing.

“What about other relationships? Your parents, friends or are you dating?”

“Mom’s been up my ass more.. She has to get a f-“ he grimaced. “Picture of me before I sleep or she hassles the security.”

“Your mother is also dealing with a lot. She didn’t even know you had lost your life. Had she or your father seen that battlefield, many mothers would go into shock or worse.”

Katsuki shuffled uncomfortably. He knew that. He’d thought of it.. it didn’t happen though so it’s over.

“I think she also sees she has a star child and just how much pressure that is to carry. I’d get use to your mother being a mom.”

Katsuki huffed.

“And dating?”

He scoffed. “I’m not doing that shit.”

“Oh?”

“Waste of time. If Sparky stopped thinking about someone to date or even stopped giving Ears googly eyes maybe he’d stop frying his brain and become stronger.”

“Sparky. Ears. Oh yes. Denki Kaminari and Kyoka Jiro. Other wise known as Chargebolt and Earphone Jack.”

“Oh. Yeah, guess I mentioned them already.” He mumbled.

“Yes. I have a few of them identified as their nicknames you’ve given them.” She looked down flipping her notebook.

“Anyways.. I’m working to be the best and I can’t do that with some..girl on my arm.”

“I understand. Your youth is the funnest days of your life, so remember that. Of course you do have priorities now. You also have your health as a main factor.”

It’s a good thing Bakugou didn’t have a girlfriend to be making his life miserable. His health didn’t need it but then he’d actually have to come to these sessions like he needed them too.

  •

Katsuki didn’t tell anyone. He didn’t even know how to process it.. Of all people.. she sent him this? Hell he’d even understand Pikachu. He’s been drooling over here from time to time. Like he does anything that walks.. but him? He thought she’d disliked him.. a lot..

She’s not even talk to him. Not in class, unless it was her teasing him or something about his cooking. Other times, it was always Ida or Deku. Maybe it was a mistake. Maybe she hadn’t known about whose locker was who and it was meant for one of them.

How does he figure that out? He’s actually have to engage with her.. Eugh. This is annoying. This is why he didn’t want no damn girl. It just meant drama. Mixed signals.. and their hair everywhere. He had pulled Pinky’s off of his floor matts in his car more times than he can count.

They were having a movie night. He’d might try there. See if he can get some reaction out of her to find out, before he goes asks her looking stupid.

“Where’s my popcorn seasonings?!” Mina stood on the stood searching through every cupboard and cabinet like a Racoon.

“Mina, you’re messing the place up.” Kiri complained softly.

“Don’t play with me or my popcorn toppings!”

“Chill, they’re all in the living room right now.” Jiro informed while grabbing a few sodas.

“Oh.” Mina blankly stared before beaming. “Lives have been saved!” She leaned back for Kiri to lift her off.

They prepared popcorn, pizza bagels, and chocolate and vanilla fudge bark.

“Ready to get our seats, Ochako?” Tsu stands beside of her noting she was drooling over the food.

“Oh sure.” She grabbed a bowl and they head to the living space.

There were long couches but a comfortable blanket with pillows was also displayed.

Katsuki came down in an orange tank and black gym shorts. He’d seen the living room get crowded and the overwhelming smell of popcorn. He’d found her on the sheet with Tsu on one side and Ida on the other.

Great. The dorks are in the way..

“I thought you said earlier you were gonna nap instead of rotting your brain with us.” Todoroki interrupted his stare and concentration.

“Yeah, well I felt obligated to save them from your smell.” He shoved by him to grab him a drink.

Todoroki smirked softly. “You missed me.”

“In your fucking dreams.”

“Okay, children let’s huddle up! We don’t need Daddy zawa in here cutting our movie short because we know he will!” Mina clapped for their attention.

“Did you refer him to Daddy?” Shinso disturbed.

“Oh don’t be embarrassed, Hitoshi.” Sero wrapped an arm around him. “She’s not taking your dad away.”

”He’s not my father.” He’s said for the millionth time.

“Uh huh. Let’s see a dna test.” Jiro teased.

The kids made jokes about going on daytime paternity tests shows.

“You two do oddly look familiar.” Shoji commented.

Shinso took that as a compliment. He had been fond of Eraserhead so the thought of people thinking there was a relation was anything but bad publicity.

“Hey, Kacchan. You want orange or grape?” Deku had been bent over in the fridge. “Kacchan?”

“Heh?” He pulled his head away from the living room. “Oh. Doesn’t matter.”

Deku gave him the orange and closed the fridge door after getting himself a grape.

“Izuku?” Katsuki voiced as he caught a glance at Uraraka looking over to jolt her head back to Tsu and her friends.

“Yeah?”

Katsuki looked around. “You and Round face.. you two dating?”

“What?!” The boy turned red. “Me and Uraraka? No way!”

“Keep your panties on!” He rolled his eyes making sure no one heard his squeal. “You two could have fooled me.”

“I don’t know what this is about, Kacchan but Uraraka has never shown interest in me. Trust me, I’ve watched at least three hundred rom coms I think I’d know.”

“You didn’t know that villain chick did.”

“Well, to be fair I don’t think tasting my blood was exactly screaming ‘I like you’.”

“That’s fair.” He frowned. “What about you? You like her?”

“Well, I think Himiko Toga got a bad-“

”Not her, Deku!” He groaned, before nodding to Uraraka.

“Oh, we’ll..”  Deku watched her laugh with her friends and knew she was a beautiful person with a great heart and great determination. “I like her but it’s not really that I have anything for her but complete respect. I’m her friend and that’s more than enough for me.”

Deku of course was infatuated with her. She was on all physical terms beautiful, and caring. I mean there’s no one better than that.. but all they went through and to his point of view he never seen anything romantic going on his life. Between him and Uraraka or anyone with him for that matter.

“Why? Do you like her?”

“Tch!” Bakugou scoffed and didn’t know why he felt he tried that hard. He didn’t like her.

That’s all he said before he went to the living room.

“Uraraka, I’ve noticed you’ve glanced toward the kitchen a few times. Have you forgotten something? Want me to fetch it for you?” ida asked adjusting his glasses.

“Oh no! It’s okay!” Ochako felt embarrassed that she has been pitted. “I was just hoping the guys will hurry up and get in here so we can start the movie.”

Damn good save.

She was terrified Deku had got the letter and since he hasn’t said anything all day, and judging by the way they kept looking over here they had to be talking about her.. Did he really tell Bakugou? Surely not. If anyone, Ida or Todoroki maybe and she’d be a little embarrassed but he’d only be confiding in those close to him about what to do.. if he wasn’t interested..

“Yes. Uraraka is right. Young men, if you are ready I think it’s time we get this as you say ‘baby started’.”

Uraraka and Tsu snorted.

“Absolutely. Let’s start and waste no more time.” Momo added.

Bakugou had no choice but to give up for the night. Least he found out about her and Izuku. Of course that didn’t mean it still wasn’t for him.. but maybe Ida? They certainly don’t seem flirty. They’re talking like nothing is there. She doesn’t seem put off by the fact her letter went ignored to say and Ida is his stiff and nerdy self.

Honestly, they’d look ridiculous together. Uraraka is too laid back and takes risks and Ida would probably have to either become whipped or just non existent in the relationship to care. He bit on his thumb as he concentrated.

“Hey, man you good?” Kiri leaned over.

“Huh? Yeah. Why?” The blonde shrugged while he still wore a busy frown.

“Nothing. Just seem somewhere else.”

“What’re you? My wife?” He pushed him off making Kiri laugh.

He noticed her shaking her can drink and like she was getting up for another. That was his que.

Wait. He needs a reason. He can’t just follow her..

“Please..” Mina pushing the bowl to Kirishima.

He grumbled. “I got it last time.”

“Yea but I’m so pretty..” she pleaded with a pout.

Kirishima huffed like a beaten man. Knowing he can’t argue a girl on that.

“Here. You both are hobos.” Katsuki grabbed it and smiled on the inside that he had lazy friends.

Uraraka has tossed her can in a bin and opened the fridge. Katsuki entered nonchalantly grabbing another bag of popcorn.

“Hmm..” She had been squatted looking at the colorful cans. Wanting strawberry again but having to decide between grape or orange was rough. At least it was for a strawberry always kind of girl.

“Like the movie?” He asked and damn was he too loud? He felt he was too loud.

”Yeah.” She answered back looking up and realizing it was kind of interesting he asked. She was going with grape. “Making more?”

”Is that what this looks like?” He answered with sarcasm. Grabbing m&ms.

“Sorry for returning the conversation.” She shrugged.

“Wait.. sorry.” He sighed. Hating to apologize but knew he had to if he wanted to find anything more out.

She leaned over noticing the mixture. “You like chocolate in your popcorn?”

“No, Racoon eyes does.”

“You’re making it for her? That’s really sweet.” She beamed.

Okay he may be getting somewhere. “I’m not sweet.”

“Well, mean guys don’t do that for their friends.”

She was leant over the counter her elbows touching the granite.

“I just did this so I didn’t have to hear Shitty hair gripe.”

“Oh but he likes doing those for her. They’re cute aren’t they?”

“Hell no.”

Ochako giggled. “You’re funny, Bakugou.” She stood up on her heels again. “I’ll see you in there.”

Katsuki needed a fucking grip. Why did her tell him he was funny make him feel.. a way.

Chapter Text

Uraraka woke up with her mint green duvet sprawled as she woke up starfish positioned. She hated the first thought she had was maybe he texted.. just to see only her usual good morning texts from her parents.

She sighed. Her shoulders shrugged down in defeat. She supposed it was better than him texting her a rejection.

She tossed herself back down blowing a puff of air. Oh well.. she can’t wallow. She guessed Izuku was just being nice and threw it away and probably too embarrassed to mention it to her. She guessed that was fine. It needs to be forgotten though.. like as if that was as easy. Doing all that just for a guy, let alone a close and personal friend to ignore you when you went all out like that.

“ Ever since I came to U.A. You have changed my life. From the first day I seen you to the moment we were going into battle. I always told myself I will be just like you.. I tried thinking it was only that.. That I was just idolizing you.. but I was wrong.. I’m in love with you. Have been. I just realize I could go on for years never telling you when there’s a chance you can feel the same way.. I’m sorry if this is a shock and it’s disturbing because our friendship is everything to me! Seeing you smile or brainstorm makes my day better. Please if you feel the same way, talk to me.. if not, don’t treat me differently.. but I can take rejection. You are more important to me than a little crush. Love, Ochako. “

A sudden knock on her door snapped her from her somber.

“Hey, Mina.” She yawned.

“Do you have an extension?” She barged in.

“Uh, like one I think. Why?”

“Because I accidentally melted mine and if I go back to Yaomomo for another she’s just gonna give me that mom look like I can’t take care of anything.”

“Ya know, remind me to never ask you to watch my plants for me.” Ochako teased plopping in her computer chair.

“Very funny.” She bent down to grab the extension. “Uhm.. Chaks?”

“Yep.”

“Your extension.. is a fire hazard!” The device was fried like Denki’s brain. “I’m afraid of even touching it!” She dropped it.

“Wha- it’s fine!” She whined. “It’s.. just exhausted.”

“No, I’m exhausted. That-“ she points dramatically “needs to be put down!”

“Well, I’ll take that in once I had breakfast.” She combed her hair down a little before sliding into her house slippers.

“Oh! Good point. I’ll just see if Tooru is downstairs and has one. She and I are supposed to be joining Sero and Kaminari later anyway.”

“What are you guys doing?”

“Earth to ChakoChip? Just visiting Yaomomo’s beautiful and elegant mansion for a party ya know, no biggie.”

Mina eyeing her cautiously as they walked toward the elevator.

“That’s tonight?”

“Yea, where you been?” Pinky nudged her giggling.

“Sorry, I guess my minds been busy.”

“Wait, is everything okay?” She pushed for the first floor.

“Yeah.. just.. I don’t know..” Ochako avoided Mina’s concerning gaze.

Mina pursed her lips, pushed emergency stop button and rested back against the elevator wall with her arms crossed.

“Mina?!”

“Spill it or we’re dying in here.” She squinted her eyes.

“Mina..” she emphasized on the ending vowel. “I’m so tired.. and hungry and it’s early-“

“Well I guess you’re ready to fill me in then huh?” She sat on the floor crossing her legs patting the spot before her. She was so unreal sometimes.

Ochako knew Mina was not going to drop it and she was too tired to come up with anything she’d buy.

“Okay..” coming down to join her in the floor. “So..” she clicked her tongue.

After informing Mina, the curly pink haired acid queen was filled with irritation.

“I’m gonna kick his ass!”

“Mina!”

“No way! You went through all that and he never even so much as confronted you or anything?! By the way, I’m kicking your ass too for keeping this from me.”

They both were standing and Ochako quickly pushed the button to head down. “Can we please drop it okay? I thought it was best I put myself out there but at least this way it saved me the humiliation of seeing what I’d look like being rejected.”

“Look, we all know Midoriya isn’t boyfriend like or even aware of other girls sure, but this is just out of question a dick move! You don’t get a love letter from one of your best friends and pretend it didn’t happen!”

The doors opened and Uraraka made a clear notion for her to not say anything. “Look.” She pulled her close toward the window and plants. “I don’t want no one else knowing. I thought he’d at least reply but maybe it’s just too weird and I guess I kinda regret it now but I just wanna forget it happened okay?”

Mina inhaled and exhaled thoroughly. “Fine.. I’ll attempt to not be a conniving bitch but accidents do happen!”

“Mina!” She laughed.

“But I won’t say anything. I promise okay?”

She embraced her brunette friend in a much needed hug.

“Thanks..”

“Well, luckily for you tonight is gonna be about relaxing by a pool, with good food and if I play my cards right i can get Yaomomo to invite class B for extra entertainment.”

Uraraka thought the idea was nice and seemed fun but on the other hand, she couldn’t help but smell some competition will also be there too.

“Okay, listen up, everyone!” Ida began. “We are arriving early to get settled in, but make note just because we are all good friends with Yaoyorozu doesn’t mean we should act as if it’s our own home. Please be respectful, and remember of her families-“

“We get it! She’s rich as fuck.” Bakugou groaned out.

“Dude aren’t you rich?” Sero used the back of his hand to smack his bicep.

“Got you there.” Jiro mumbled typing on her phone.

“Allow me to continue and add, and I’d like to think you’ll listen, Bakugou. That there shall be no quarreling, no quirk use, and no violence of any kind. We are guests and if I find-“

The doors of the dorms opened and Momo and Mina came walking through.

“Oh. I was just going through some of the ground rules, ladies.”

“And boring us to death.” Bakugou mumbled.

“Well, I would like to add some news for tonight’s event.”

“Oh please.” He backed up a step for her to begin.

“Okay, well I know it was just going to be us tonight but Mina made it clear with all we been through I think it would be nice to invite class B with us. They’ve suffered too and I think it could be a lot of fun.”

“What a wonderful idea, Yaoyorozu.” Ida intercepted. “That means us being on a good behavior is more of an order, class.”

Mina caught Ochako’s ‘Nice work’ look and she gave her a wink.

As they gave rules about no alcohol, no running amok in her home, no personal photography for public gain or exploitation, and definitely no fighting. Of course giving Bakugou the glare when they mentioned that one.

Uraraka was pretty thrilled. Yeah, her crush was ignoring her attempt to express her feelings to them but at least they weren’t ignoring her completely. It could be worse.. and tonight is gonna be so nice she can’t afford to let a little issue like this to disrupt it.

Evening air, cool temperate pool, great food and people she loved? She may never leave. Not to mention, they needed this. I mean she was at deaths door.. and she needs this okay? They all did.

A knock come to her door and she was expecting it being Tsu making sure she had all she needed for the ride. They were going to ride with Todoroki, Deku and Ida. It was going to be nice. She didn’t need to be weary of being in the same vehicle with Deku. They were friends and despite all this, she still loved their friendship.

“Oh.. Hi?”

“Hey.”

Bakugou being at the door was not expected.

“You er..you going soon?”

“Uh..” she looked back at her bag. “Yeah.. just grabbing an extra towel and outfit.”

He stuck his hands in his pockets. “Right..” his jaw tensing made Uraraka worrisome.

“Bakugou, did something happen?”

“What?”

“Well, I don’t think you’ve come to my room many times before and you look.. really uncomfortable.”

“Well I’m not!” He groaned.

She shrugged and hoped he’d explain why he was here because either she’s gonna slam her door shut for him being awkward and rude or assume he’s sleep walking.

“Do you wanna go with me?”

Uhm.. what?

“Uh..go with you?”

He looked so out of place. He was definitely nervous by the way he stared at anything but her and his arms crossed making his chest look bigger.

“Just a question. We’re all going to the same damn place anyway.”

“Uhm, sure okay.”

Why did I just agree? I was supposed to go with the others.

“Okay..” he blinked and looked a little surprised  she agreed. “Don’t take too long.”

She was still processing him asking her as he walked away.

“Well that was unexpected.” She tucked her hair behind her ears before finishing up.

“Hey, Bakubro I’m just gonna grab my charger.”

Shit.. he didnt tell Kirishima. Should he tell him so he’d go with someone else? Hell, it’s not big of a deal. He’d probably just fuck it up if it was just two of them right now. Kirishima had a way of making things lighten up and maybe it’d help.. or make him throw the redhead out of his car one.

He decided to head out to the jeep. He wasn’t gonna put anymore thought into it. He invited her. Damn. He shouldn’t have to think of everything.

“Tsu.” Ochako knocked a couple times at her door.

“Hey, Chako. I was just about to come to you. Kero.”

Tsu wore a cute white t shirt and a loose blue shorts with a little blue hat.

“Hey, so change of plans I think?”

“What do you mean?”

“Bakugou invited me to drive with him..” Her eyes jumped.

“Bakugou?”

“Yes! Isn’t that weird?!”

“It’s.. unexpected.”

“Right?! That what I said!”

“Are you going to go with him?”

“I mean.. it happened just suddenly and I said yes without thinking and I’m sorry I should have said I already was riding with you guys but I don’t know I felt it was kinda crazy he asked I of all people.”

“Chako, chako. It’s okay.” Her friend held her arms to calm her. “If you want to go, we’ll understand. It is odd he asked but maybe he’s just trying to reconnect with the class after tormenting us for a year.”

“Yeah.. yeah you’re right.” Ochako nodded realizing she’d probably made him uncomfortable by not seeming to be more welcoming. “I’ll go! Make sure Todoroki doesn’t think anything of it. You know how he gets with his conspiracies.”

“I’m not sure if I can control his thoughts, but I’m sure Todoroki knows Bakugou better than to think anything weird. Kero.”

“Right. Well, see ya!” Ochako shrugged and gave a hopeful smile before heading downstairs.

Heading into the student parking lot and catching Bakugou in his black jeep with orange designs. Uraraka seen his spiky hair through the tinted window looking at his phone. She never drove with anyone other than Todoroki and Ida. Once with Mina.. never doing that again. She wasn’t allowed to get permit for another year.

“Uraraka.”

Kirishima made her jump as she thought she was alone.

”Oh, sorry.” He chuckled. “You coming with us?” He asked just as surprised as she still was.

”Uh, yeah. Bakugou invited me so I-“

”Really? Hell yeah. You can have shotgun.”

“Oh, no Kirishima it’s okay.” She felt that was way too pushy especially since she was extremely bashful enough.

“No, here let me have your bag.” He took her tote and opened the backseat to slide in.

Ochako blew a puff of air out trying to collect before making her way to the passenger.

“Hey, you didn’t tell me you invited Uraraka?”

Katsuki looked back frowning. “The hell I gotta tell you everything I do in this car?” He scoffed. “What are you doing back there? Get the hell up-“

The door opened and Ochako held the most fakest grin she can achieve. “Hi!”

He made a noise. It wasn’t even a word. More like an almost word. Kirishima smirked and thankfully strength wasn’t just a physical talent of his as he held back a knowing laugh.

“Cool if I keep your bag back here, Uraraka? I probably looked like an ass just grabbing it without asking.” Kiri leaned in.

“No it’s fine! Just got a few girl items anyway.” She buckled in. She couldn’t help but look in the jeep. It was kind of high up, and it was so clean and why does it smell so good in here?!

On the way out of the dorms parking lot, Kirishima was being the brave one to make sure this wasn’t the most awkward car drive ever.

“Bakugou, play my playlist.” He reached his phone by his arm.

Bakugou rolled his eyes. “We’re not listening to Skillet again, shitty hair.”

Uraraka softly chuckled as she didn’t know what he listened to but Skillet did seem to fit.

“Come on, man, I got some other stuff on there. Just shuffle.”

Bakugou grumbled and took the phone connecting it to the aux and letting it play.

Uraraka was pretty impressed by his music. She heard bands she thought only her dad listened to.

“You like this shit, Round face?”

“Yeah!” She looked over his way. “I remember my dad blasting these songs at his work when I was a kid.”

“Wait your dad likes Quiet Riot too?” Kiri leaned in.

“Yeah, he raised me with some of the greats.” She beamed.

“Tch. I’ll show you great.” He stopped at a red light and Ochako couldn’t help but smile at the way he looked to make sure it was safe first before connecting his phone.

”Uhm, Bakugou maybe-“ Kiri trying to save him from being laughed at by someone he’s possibly trying to impress.

The moment it wasn’t something that started with a violin or a dramatic intro relief hit him. Uraraka would have thought he’d been joking if it played his classical shit.

“Wait, is this cigarettes after sex?” Uraraka looked to Katsuki with an incredulous look.

”Yeah. You listen to it?” His focus on the road.

“Yeah! Some of their music helped me learn to relax while I’m quirk training.”

Katsuki nodded briefly not annoyed by the fact they shared mutual music.

“Bro I didn’t know you listened to this. You’re a softie.” Kiri patted his shoulder.

Bakugou jerked his shoulder away. “Piss off.” He grumbled.

Uraraka giggled at Kirishima’s tease.

The rest of the ride wasn’t so bad. They played different music they liked and Kirishima decided it was time he considered himself a swiftie after hearing it once Uraraka played a few songs.

Within an hour and a half class A and B filled the pool scene. It was crowded but thankfully the space was large with a pool, patios, stretched lounge chairs, and bar.

Uraraka hadn’t got into the pool yet but kept her legs inside while sitting on the Crete with Kyoka.

“Come any closer.” Kyoka glared at Denki who silently inched closer to dunk her in.

Uraraka giggled as the blonde sulked away again. “You guys are cute.”

“Tell that to the vein in my forehead.”

“Aw, I think he’s sweet. Why not give him a chance?”

”it’s not that simple..” She shrugged. Ochako could see there was more to say but she wanted to make sure she wasn’t overstepping. Jirou was private about her feelings and was good about closeting them.

“Well, you just need to be happy. Whether it’s with Kaminari or someone else or just yourself.”

“I mean I am happy..” she leant back on her hands. “Hell I’m alive after that shit show aren’t I?”

“Yeah..” Ochako’s hand crept over her stomach. “You’re right about that.”

Jirou caught her and sat back up. “How is therapy going? Does it help?”

Ochako nodded. “It does. I feel it’s helped me challenge myself in some ways.”

“Really?”

“Yeah.” She exhaled. “Something’s have been fruitful and others..” she glanced at Izuku next to Katsuki and Ida talking.

Jirou found where her eyes gandered. “Oh?”

Ochako looked into the dark eyes of her friend with a ‘don’t remind me’ expression. She stretched her hands out on her knees.

 “Wait what am I missing?”

Uraraka tucked her hair behind her ears. “Nothing. Just an exercise my therapist suggested. Turns out it didn’t work out as I’d hoped but I don’t regret it I guess?”

Jirou noticed just how precious Uraraka looked in the night air. Honestly who wouldn’t be under the moon ljke this and the warm summer air blowing. Uraraka just looked different though. She wasn’t the girl she was when she first joined UA. In some ways, she was but in other ways she was more grown than she thought she’d be before eighteen.

“So, Bakugou.” Ida adjusting his glasses as he held his small drink. “I’d like to think driving Uraraka here was a safe drive.”

Katsuki’s brow lifted. “You could assume that or ask the pedestrians I hit on the way.”

“Excuse you?!” Ida nearly choked.

”Kacchan is joking, Ida.” Deku chuckled as he gave a hopeful look to Bakugou that he was joking.

“She’s over there, go ask ‘er yourself.” He huffed.

“No.” Ida nodded and seen the error of his questioning. “No, Bakugou, I apologize. You’ve done much approving and adapted well into a good specimen. One I consider a friend. I’m sure I don’t have to ask Uraraka if you were safe with her on the drive.”

Deku nodded as he seen Ida relax.

”You know I haven’t got to talk to Uraraka all night. I think I’ll go take her some punch.” Ida had grabbed a small cup from the tray before leaving.

“Make sure to ask her if I copped a field too.” Katsuki yelled out grabbing attention from a few students and an embarrassed Ida.

“Kacchan.” Izuku scolded rubbing his brows.

“What?” Katsuki snorted. “I’m sure he was going to anyway.”

“Hey eh.. Kacchan?” Deku sat his drink down and sitting on the barstool. “Why did you ask Uraraka to go with you?”

Katsuki felt his neck turn a little pink. “What?”

”Its just..You two don’t really hang out.. and it was just surprising.” He shrugged. “When Asu-Tsu I mean came to tell us Uraraka wasn’t coming, it nearly startled Shoto.”

“Well, he’s not her damn dad. Uraraka’s a big girl, she can ride with anyone she wants.”

“You’re right.” Deku nodded and was feeling uncomfortable about it all. “It’s just ya know, Todoroki sees us as his family. Especially with all he’s been through.. I think he was just more curious than worried.”

Katsuki hated to but he knew it was right. They were probably the ones he thought of first when a family tree is mentioned. His old man really messed up that house of his to feel it’s a home.

“I guess.”

“So..”

“So what?”

“So..” Deku cracked his fingers to relieve the tension on his back. “You two are suddenly hanging out..”

“What if we do?”

Deku thought He’d keep deflecting but seeing he was now challenging him with a question for an answer and a tricky one at that.

“What if we spar more often.. We go out.. What if she starts riding in my car instead of with you guys?”

Deku flushed by the thought as it wasn’t at all a big deal at all but the vibe he was feeling didn’t seem thoroughly platonic.

“W-well, that’s her decision. We’re all friends now aren’t we? None of us belong to another person or group.”

Katsuki nodded briefly. It’s not like he was about to duel Deku over her. He wasn’t sure of what this was or what it will be. There was relief though when Izuku seemed welcoming.

It was unbelievable but so far there had been no ‘friendly’ competition suggestion from Neito and no threats made by Bakugou. They even seemed to talk civilly amongst one another. Yaomomo was pleased. Both classes listened to her rules and were playing nice. She blamed it on their cruel year. It was about to get more real for them, so a night of no heroism or competition was a blessing in no disguise.

Uraraka was now snacking at one of the patios. Dipping her strawberry in a chocolate dip.

“I knew you’d be stuffing your face.” Mina popped in sitting beside her giggling and helping herself.

“Are you kidding me?” Uraraka with a full mouth. Momo went out of the way to grab tons of the best treats. Ones she couldn’t see Momo approving of but then again, Mina was there helping her plan so she probably should thank her. “It’s all I could think about since I seen the snack table.”

“Well, I came over here to drag you back where some of us are hanging out. It’s a night of fun with friends and you’re messing up my vibe, babe.” She nudged.

Uraraka chuckled. “Sorry! I’m just relaxing though.”

“Or.. you’re thinking how to get back at Midoriya.” Mina tsked.

Ochako gave her an exasperated look. “I don’t care about him right now.”

“Uh huh.” Mina dusted off her fruity and chocolatey hands. “Is that why you arrived Bakugous passenger seat tonight?” she leant in to see the blush on her cheeks.

Uraraka’s eyes widened. “It’s not like that! He asked me!”

“Uh huh.”

“Mina, come on. It’s Bakugou. He’s just being nice.”

Mina nearly choked. “Nice?! Him?!” She pointed back at him who had a fried Kaminari in an arm lock.

“Eh.. You know he’s trying to be more friendly. The other day, he helped Kota get a cat out of a tree.”

“Yea by climbing up there and screaming at it!” Mina cackled. “Come on, just be real with me is all it takes. Is it so foreign to think you and Bakugou is a little plan to get a certain someone’s attention?”

Minas words began playing in her brain. “I mean.. I didn’t think of it that way.. I just feel if he hadn’t noticed me this far.. why would Bakugou make a difference?”

“True.” Mina sighed leaning in the chair with her arms crossed. “It is Midoriya.”

“Plus.. Bakugou really is just being nice.”

Mina groaned. “Slight maybe, babe. Come on, let’s go have fun.”

Notes:

Adding another pool part later. Just didn’t have time but wanted to get some of the chapter released at least

Chapter Text

Some of class A and B was relaxing at a round patio couch.

“I can’t believe how huge Yaoyorozu’s place is.” Tetsutetsu had looked back at the estate and the huge yard that held several different spaces.

“If I had a home like this, I would never had stepped foot in those dorms.” Tokage sulked back into the cushioned seat.

“Imagine the fancy parties!” Mina daydreamed. “I’d make everyone get all dressed up and use only the most elegant language.”

“Yeah and imagine all the fancy food that would be served!” Ochako drooled.

“Ochako Uraraka if I had a yen for every time you mentioned food.” Mina pinched her cheek.

“Shut up.” She pouted a little embarrassed.

Mina giggled loving her cutie best friend when she was all bashful and put on the spot.

Apparently she wasn’t the only one either. Her black and yellow eyes found a pair of vermilions also staring and it wasn’t one of his lazy scowls either. He has a look of curiousity and dare she say beguilement.

Once Katsuki noticed Racoon eyes caught his glare, he became flushed and looked away immediately feeling like a jackass for staring.

Mina knew Ochako said it was Bakugou being nice.. but Mina was a realist and this man didn’t do nice. Sure he’s become a better person, but let’s test that.

“If I had known you rode with Bakugou and Kirishima, I’d have joined you. We could have all went on a quick double date!”

Katsuki choked on his soda and Uraraka became red. She pinched her pink friends arm.

“Ow!” Mina rubbed her arm. “Or ya know you two coulda dropped us off here and you guys go on the date.”

“The fuck you talking about, Alien bitch?” Katsuki scowled and everyone can see his neck shaded pink.

“Oh am I wrong? Just thought because you were pining for Chaks to ride with you meant you wanted her all to yourself.”

Ochako had officially had it set. She would either kill Mina or herself. Perhaps both.

“Tch! I don’t know what the fuck you’re on about, Pinky but you can suck my dick.” The blonde flustered and smug left the group and class b glared as they didn’t get to see this part as much as class A did.

As Mina opened her mouth, Ochako braced her. “Don’t even.”

“Don’t worry, he’s just embarrassed.” Hanta shrugged.

“He really gets bashful about dating doesn’t he?” Tokage smirked finding it amusing.

“We’re not dating!” Ochako quickly protested.

“She didn’t say you were.” Mina teased. “She said about dating.”

Ochako now felt she’d sink under their gaze.

“Oh.. well good. Because it was just a ride. Why did you tease him like that? You know he’s only being nice?”

“Ha-“ Tetsutetsu cackled. “Bakugou.. nice?!”

“That’s what I said!” Mina giggled kicking her feet.

Uraraka rolled her eyes chuckling and glancing back to see if she can find where he went but unfortunately didn’t find him.

Some of them now deciding to begin games in the pool.

Kirishima begging to be Polo but ones such as Kaminari begged to not let him since he had some weird talent in always winning.

“Okay, so our first game of Marco Polo. Our Polo’s are Bakugou and Honenuki. Our Marcos will be Kaminari, Uraraka, Pony, and Todoroki.” Yaomomo states.

“Okay, Bakugou the best way to win-“

“I think I can handle a little kids game, Shitty hair.” Katsuki sat on the edge of the pool as he tied a band around his head.

“Yeah, I’m sure you will.” Kiri grinned giving his buddy a pat as Bakugou helped himself inside.

“I’m sure this will be a peice of cake. Nothing class B can’t win.” Neito cockily shared.

“This is not a competition, Monama. Keep that reminder secure.” Ida refreshed his memory.

Not to mention, Class A would reign victoriously over your class.

Both polos had to be back to back as the swimmers got inside. The sounds of coo’s and soft howls upon getting into the cool water.

Uraraka was excited to finally be in a bikini again. Mina gave her an old one. It was plum pink with designs, and had a sparkly look. It wasn’t too revealing but it was perfect for a physique.

“Let Marco Polo commence!” Momo began the game.

Uraraka and Kaminari kept giggling to each other as Bakugou kept reaching out. Kaminari having the time of his life seeing how far he could get Bakugou to play along til he lost his head.

“Kacchan, you almost had me.”

Katsuki hated that name growing up but if anyone would call him that now, it’d be only Izuku. Why the hell was he picking it up?

“Fucker. “ Katsuki seethed and Uraraka knew his senses were well enough to hear her breath if the noises weren’t so loud to distract him. She stepped back and almost yelped when she seen Honenuki coming for her.

Uraraka felt a pair of hands pull her back and thankfully Todoroki never left anyone behind.

She carefully swam beside him and while everyone was laughing at Kaminari screaming like a girl as Bakugou was making it his greatest achievement to catch him, Todoroki had cleared his throat.

“So you came with Bakugou.”

Uraraka wondered how he’d take it. He loved Bakugou and knew he was a good person overall and trusted him for the most part.. but there was still that part in him where he was super protective over the ones closest to him.

“Oh.. yeah. You’re not.. mad right?” She whispered.

He blankly stared at her for a second and shook his head. “You wanted to go with him?”

“Uhm… it was kind of surprising to be asked but I guess part of me wanted to yeah.”

He nodded. “That’s all that matters then.”

She smiled nudging him. Kaminari had been caught by Honenuki by running into him as he swam from Bakugou and accidentally taking Pony with him.

“Aw man!” Kaminari whined.

“Good going, Chargebolt.” Ponytail sighed.

“Your ass is mine after I win this shit, Sparky!” Bakugou growled.

Shoto and Ochako were the last and Todoroki didn’t at all look stressed. He looked to even be relaxing. She on the other hand felt they’d probably make rounds around the pool to see if make sure they weren’t camping in a safe spot.

Todoroki mouthed. “You go right.” He nodded to his left. Somehow at that Bakugou turned his head like as if he heard. How?! She didn’t even hear him, and he was right beside her!

Uraraka’s eyes widened. Afraid to go left now that the movement in the water would stir him. A slight smirk was on his lips before turning around. Both of them sighing carefully in relief and Uraraka looked to her left making the slightest movement when suddenly and unexpectedly an arm blocked her path pushing her back into Todoroki.

She yelped and only after she seen the hand placement she became super red.

Bakugous grin faded as he knew. Just because he never felt a woman up, doesn’t mean he doesn’t know what he has a hand full of now.

Todoroki frowned and pushed Bakugou back. “The hell’s the matter with you?!”

Bakugou slid off his head band, and the first thing he seen was Uraraka blushing hard and helplessly looked down to what he knew was in his hand only seconds ago.

“You’re looking now?” Todoroki closed up on him.

“It’s not like I was trying to, Icy Bastard!” Pushing him back.

“Gentleman!” Ida had to cut in.

“Look, it was an accident.” Uraraka tried to get in the middle. “Come on, Todoroki, Bakugou would never do that. And Todoroki is just being concerned.” She went back and forth to relieve the pair. “So let’s get over it and get back to the game okay?”

Truthfully this was embarrassing enough and she was kind of glad Todoroki got the attention off of her but she couldn’t let this escalate.

Both men looked like they were ready to repeat the sports festival.

“Hey! Don’t disrespect Yaoyorozu’s house like this, guys. Chill out. You wanna fight, take it anywhere else but here.” Awase had made sure they both heard before looking to Momo with an appreciative nod. One he’ll definitely swoon for later.

With a huff Bakugou backed up, exiting the pool and was given a towel by Kirishima who’d follow to calm him down.

“Are you okay?”

“I’m fine, Todoroki. I’m a little embarrassed but I’m more concerned how it affected you. Bakugou wouldn’t try that. I’m sure he feels embarrassed too.”

“Probably.” He nodded and they exited the pool allowing the other students to start their round.

To lighten the mood, Kaminari held a hand over his face and reached for Kyoka. “Hey, guys have you seen Jirou?” With his hand reaching lower.

To which made nearly almost everyone but Ida, Momo, and Jirou laugh.

“I hope Bakugou paralyzes you.” She rolled her eyes pushing him in the pool with one hand.

“Hey, man. It’s okay. You’re not the first guy to accidentally.. grope.. a girl..” Kiri was wording it out uncomfortably as he didn’t realize how crazy it sound.

“I didn’t know that was her or that I was touching..Ugh!” He groaned sitting on a bench. They were in a secluded spot thankfully where he didn’t hear the laughing and most likely think it was about him.

“I know and she knows too. Honestly the best thing you can do is apologize. She’s probably just worried about how you feel.”

“Yeah, Kirishima?! Have you ever had your tits groped? Hell no! She’s probably thinking about what a piece of shit I am and hates me.”

Kirishima knitted his brows. “Why do you care if she does?” Katsuki didn’t reply and Kiri smirked leaning down. “Wait.. you want her to like you?”

“Fuck this, I’m going home. She’ll probably ride home with half n half bastard anyway.”

“Hey, man, come on.” Kiri walked after him.

“Bakugou.”

Katsuki’s eyes widened and looked away shyly.

Kiri looked between the both. “I’ll see you guys, gotta make sure I show off my Polo skills.”

Ochako gave an amused smile to Kiri before he skipped off.

“Uhm.. you know I’m not mad right?”

He looked at her.

“I mean yea I’m embarrassed.. but I’d be more embarrassed if I was the one who- ya know?” She snorted.

He blushed hard. “I didn’t mean to, fuck!”

“I know.. I know.” She nodded. “I just don’t want you to think Todoroki thinks that either. It was just on impulse. Plus, I think he was saving me from some of the attention.”

Katsuki sunk his hands in his trunks pockets. “Well remind me to give the fucker some flowers.”

She gave a ‘good one’ chuckle. “So.. wanna still ride home together?”

“Really? Youre not going with your friends?”

“Well.. we’re friends.. and I don’t mind.. if you don’t mind that is.” She shyly shrugged hoping she didn’t look desperate.

He nodded and felt his chest flutter. He’ll blame it on his wounds.

“It’s cool.”

“Okay cool.” Oh he just said that.. “Well, I’m gonna go see if I can find any Mochi.” She blurted and skipped off biting her lip to keep from bursting.

  •

“Hey, Chako.” Tsu comes to sit with Uraraka, Mina and Kendo.

“Hi, Tsu!” She beamed. “Congrats on winning!”

“As if anyone else had a chance.” Kendo winked.

“Thank you guys. Momo is now seeming to have more fun now. Kero. She was really busy making sure no one broke anything.”

“Yeah, I kept telling her she was honestly asking for a lot to think some of us were going to be neat little angels, but I think it turned out okay.” Kendo chuckled as she watched Her, Jirou, Pony and Shoji play with a beach ball.

“Heck yea, it’s been! Free food, big pool, and a show.” Mina nudged Uraraka.

“By the way. Are you okay?” Tsu checked.

“Wha-oh yeah!” She gestured a hand toss. “He and I talked and I know I don’t wanna linger it ya know?”

The girls nodded other than Ashido. “Pft! Not me. If someone like Bakugou groped me, remind you I’d have to be very drunk, I’d might fall in love.”

“That’s disturbing.” Tsu cringed.

“You’re so funny, Ashido.” Itsuka cackled.

“Come on, Chaks. Be honest how did it make you feel?”

Uraraka heavily sighed. “I don’t know..” she shrugged looking down at her knees. “It was kinda.. a little bit of everything. I felt embarrassed. Shocked. Like I wanted to laugh it off.. and I don’t know.. I didn’t realize his hand was.. that big.”

Kendo and Mina both coo’d teasing. Tsu didn’t exactly like what she heard but Ochako was her best friend nonetheless. So she’d hear her out and support whatever she felt.

“But.. It’s not like I have anything for him but pure platonically respect.” Upon Uraraka making that statement, Katsuki and Kirishima were play fighting and dunked one another in the pool.

Bakugou climbed out with his hair slicked back which was never usually seen ever. Catching his smirk of whatever he and Kirishima were conversing on about. He had a really pretty forehead, she thought.

Uraraka hoped it wasn’t visible just how much she was staring at him right now. Butterflies swarming in her belly about the car ride again. Secretly hoping Kirishima decides to ride with someone else.

She didn’t think anything would happen but there’s something about just being in his presence. He was strong and he knew it. He was powerful and he knew it.. Maybe that’s why she’s liking their new friendship a lot. He’s a good influence in a way..

“Hey, Uraraka. You okay?” Deku had appeared with a small drink with a tiny unbrella in his hand.

“Ugh, she just had a very traumatic experience, Midoriya! Give her some space which I’m sure you can do.” Mina groaned.

Ochako, Itsuka and Tsu gawked at her.

“Oh.. er sorry. Sorry, Ochako!” Deku bent down before leaving.

“Very subtle, Mina.” Ochako glared with annoyance.

“Aren’t you glad I held back?”

Ochako hid her face in her hands.

“What’s that about?” Tsu frowned.

“Nothing!” She looked at Mina. “Nothing.” giving her a once over.

Kirishima had fallen asleep on the patio couch. Bakugou had got changed into his dry clothes and went to nudge Kirishima whose mouth was open.

“Get up, idiot.”

Kiri grumbled.

“Come on, you’ll sleep in the car.” Bakugou rolled his eyes as he swore if he didn’t already see he’d be the designator driver for these morons in the future.

“Hey.” Uraraka had her bag and her dry clothing on. She looked down to a sleeping redhead. “Oh, he’s really out.”

“Yea not for long.” Bakugou went to grab a bucket and filling it with pool water to dunk it on him. “Rise and shine, Princass!”

Kirishima jumped up like he was drowning. Ochako was snickering.

”What’s up?”

”We’re leaving! Go get dressed. I’m not waiting forever for you.”

“Okay, okay. I’ll be right there.” Kirishima yawned stretching and went to the shed to grab his bag.

The pair sat in his jeep waiting. She wondered if her parents would care she was in his car. They trusted Todoroki. They met over the year with his family. They knew the Bakugou’s. They never seemed to dislike them. This was silly to think about. She was his classmate. They didn’t mind. Plus, he wasn’t as much of a rage driver as she expected. He was pretty cautious. She’s sure she’s seen Ida lose his cool a couple times more than Bakugou had.

Bakugou thought of several things to say but then would close his mouth again. The image of her in his hand kept ruling over and made him feel anything he said made him look dumb or a try hard.

“You have a nice car.”

She spoke and he looked at her to make sure she did actually speak and he didn’t think so hard on it he imagined it.

He nodded. “It’s okay.”

She scoffed. “It’s more than okay. I’ve never rode inside a jeep before.”

“I wanted a Porsche.”

Ochako cackled. He didn’t realize that was so funny.

“You really are a rich kid.”

“Tch.” He blushed as he felt read and singled out. Not his fault he couldn’t be poor.

“Smells good too. I always liked that smell. Girls perfume sometimes is so much it makes me sneeze when I sample them at the mall.”

“Yea bet you get ‘em anyway.” He scoffed.

Ochako pursed her lips. She had a lotion she was able to use she got for Christmas, but telling anyone let alone a boy even if it’s Bakugou she doesn’t own any was too embarrassing.

“Yeah.” She faked a laugh.

Katsuki glanced and realized he probably sound like an ass. He bit his lower lip. “You can uhm use it sometime..”

She frowned. “Hm?”

“My cologne, not the car.” He recollected.

She chuckled. “I didn’t know you used any.”

He shrugged. “I sweat most of it off. Pointless to wear really.”

“Oh..” her mind betrayed her going to a sweaty Bakugou. Making her cheeks rosy. “I’ll uh.. keep that in mind.”

A silence came over and both of them stole glances and quickly turned away.

“Hiya!” The door opened and it nearly made them both jump out of shock and relief.

She watched as they pulled out. She always seen Pinterest aesthetics of ‘Boys that drive.’ but now she gets it. It really was captivating.

The ride home was quiet. She dozed off a little as it was past 9pm and the city was silent.

A sudden hit on the breaks stirred Uraraka awake and noticed Katsuki’s hand across her. Not touching her but held out to make sure she didn’t lean into the dashboard.

She was wearing a seatbelt.. Did he have to do that? He didn’t apologize for that or anything or look as if it wasn’t needed. She rested her head back down. He on impact just thought of her safety.. The feeling that came with made her fuzzy.

If she wasn’t so tired.. she’d just have to tell him how cute he could be.. but maybe another time.

“The arms looking great!” Kiri hyping Katsuki up as he spotted him. “Ten more.”

Bakugou pursing his lips in a strain as he pursued. His arm had gotten better. It’s like he swore. He wouldn’t give up. He kicked that son of a ball sack looking bitch to hell. He’s not throwing in the towel anytime soon.

“Ya know we’re doing the swap soon.”

“Huh?”

“Ya know, in class. Which probably means we’re not gonna be running buddies for next few weeks.” He threw a small towel on the blondes chest.

“I’ll recover.” He groaned slightly as the weight was lifted to the top bar and he rose up.

“Aw, come on. Im the only one who actually offered to pair up with you.”

Katsuki could feel the redheads grin on his back. “The fuck I need a running partner for anyway?”

“Eh.” Kiri shrugged. “Think where less action for villains has been a thing, teachers are trying to give us normal shit to do.”

“Yeah.” Katsuki agreed shrugging. “Nothing normal about us.” The sting of what his chest and face looks like will always be that reminder.

“Nah, we’re greater than that.”

Katsuki smirked.

“You all have five minutes to decide. If you can’t choose, I’ll do it for you.” Aizawa gave that stained glare like he enjoyed watching them squirm.

They knew they’d only be paired with people they didn’t really want to be partnered with. Not that they don’t love one another but there were ones they had a more closer link to and say Ashido was paired with Shoji. It wouldn’t do either of them good that Ashido would drive him crazy with gossip and Ashido with someone who really hates it.

“Sorry, we can’t be each others partners anymore, Chako.” Tsu pouted.

“Oh Tsu, That’s not your fault! Look at it this way, we can pick someone who challenges us more. I think us both being small doesn’t exactly give us that opportunity.”

“Kero. You’re right. I was thinking Shoji would be a good fit for me. He and Koda were partners this past semester.”

“Wish I had someone picked.” Uraraka scratched her head with a helpless smile.

“What about Ida or Midoriya?”

She grimaced. “Okay so when I said someone that could challenge us, I didn’t exactly mean them. They’re great and so well driven but they really can be annoying with being too driven ya know? Hope I don’t sound mean.”

“It’s okay, Chako. It’s understandable you don’t want to over do it. This is just running.” Tsu supported her knowing she can’t exactly know what she’s thinking or feeling considering her patched wound, and mentality.

“Froppy. I was thinking You and I could partner.” Tokoyami had appeared blankly.

“Oh-“ Tsu caught off guard. She had wanted to try this with Shoji but Tokoyami was an interesting and caring friend so she accepted.

They seemed to talk more to one another like Uraraka wasn’t there. It wasn’t intentional of course but she felt she should probably shy away and find someone or Aizawa may set her up with someone like Minetta. No. Aizawa knows better than that she believes.

Oh! Shinso! We haven’t got to hang out as much.

She finds his purple wild hair between Kirishima and Kaminari as they’re debaing something about a video game, she beams at him. “Hi, Shinso! Do you have a partner?”

His brows lifted slightly in surprise she came by herself. He shrugged and Uraraka took that as a no.

“Wanna partner with me?”

“Oh. You two are going together?” Deku had appeared on her left.

“Eh-“ Ochako a little confused. Part of her hoped he’d wanted to partner with her for some reason and the other part dreaded that very thought. “Well, I don’t think we’ve hung out much yet and it would be a nice change of pace for me.”

“No, I understand. I was hoping to partner with him too so we could discuss the sports festival for this year. It’s not too far from now and we have a routine for our upcoming obstacles.”

Ochako swore there was a shorter way to answer that.

“Oi!” Katsuki was heard with an annoyed tone. “Thought you wanted us to run.”

Uraraka held back a smile. He was so funny when he was using his attitude to hide his inner jealousy.

“W-well I do! I just thought maybe since Shinso didn’t- or at least I thought didn’t have a partner all three of us can partner up-“

“I’m not gonna partner up with two people! Take mindfreak, Round face you’re with me.” He said with his hands on his hips and spoke with some type of playful venom.

Ochako felt a chill up her back by Bakugou suddenly calling them to partner up. She knew that it was accidental this happened but why was she constantly in his space anymore? It wasn’t like them to always be so close.

“Oi- ya hear me?”

“Huh- Yeah! Okay!” Her face was coloring as she thought she was playing it cool.

Thankfully Kaminari’s whining was enough to deter everyone’s attention away.

“You seriously don’t wanna partner with me because I disagreed?!”

“No I don’t wanna partner with you because you’ll slack behind!” Kiri groaned.

“You’re like a big baby with abnormal muscle!”

“Awh, I’ll partner with the big baby!” Mina coo’d holding onto Kirishima’s arm.

“Try not to come back pregnant.” Kaminari teased and Mina pushed him playfully.

She blew out puffs of air and stretched waiting for Bakugou. They got in their new gym wear. Girls were to wear their choice of bottoms, Ochako had decided to wear knee length, and a U.A. Tank top. Her head band was used to tie her hair back.

Finally, Katsuki had joined her.

Was time slowed down or was he walking slow? Why did he walk with such Aura? What happened to that constipated walk he used to do? He seemed even taller somehow too. Maybe it was the gym suit he was wearing. He was wearing a zip up jacket of U.A., and a pair of joggers to match.

“Let’s get this shit over with.” He began stretching.

Ochako exhaled and rolled her eyes. Jeez I wasn’t the one who practically demanded to be your partner, buddy!

Half way down the mile, It began sprinkling. They stopped at their checkpoint to drink water and check their pulse.

“Oh hell!“ Katsuki grumbled and forced his headband up his head driving back his hair.

Uraraka felt a shift somewhere. He was corrupt with pretty. Moments like this could make a girl really weak for him.

He grits his teeth and scowled. “What’re ya staring at?! Let’s go!”

Well.. almost.

They continued with their jog and Ochako’s adoration for the rain is fading as it’s pouring. She didn’t know how the teachers didn’t know there was a storm coming. If she knew Aizawa, she would assume he did know. Giving them something to waver through.

Uraraka tried to hold her own, but her legs compared to his in this rain wasn’t exactly ruling in her favor.

Bakugou looked back a couple of times. “Ugh! You’re slacking!”

“I can’t help it! I’m barely five feet and if ya haven’t noticed-“ her arms spread out. “It’s freezing!”

He rolled his eyes as his legs continued on, he removed his jacket tossing it to her. “It’s soaked too but whatever.”

Ochako knew this was the worse time to feel her chest flutter. “Thanks..”

He was glad it was pouring for only that moment. He could feel his neck turn color by the way she looked in it.

  •

“I can’t believe Mr. Aizawa knew it would pour like that!” Mina whined with a fuzzy blanket wrapped around her. They were all toasting up in the living area while the rain continued.

“I can.” Denki scoffed. “This is the guy that gave my parents consolation for having me!”

“That was funny.” Jiro mumbled with a smirk holding hot cocoa to her lips.

“Jiro!” Denki whined.

“I’m glad it’s over. I’m surprised we’re not sick right now.” Hanta stretched.

Ochako was falling asleep on the chair arm as they all talked. Taking their words in slowly as she dozed off.

“Well, most of us.” Kiri sighed.

“Oh right, Kacchan possibly has a cold now.” Izuku pursed his lips. “I’ll go check on him.”

Bakugou is sick?

”Yeah. He was sneezing like hell earlier.”

“Surprised his mommy didn’t come by.”

Kaminari galred at Hanta. “Wait.. Mrs. Bakugou might come by?”

Jiro woke him from his daydream by smacking the back of his neck. “Pervert.”

”Wha- I’m not doing anything!”

“Ya know she’s basically Bakugou with breast.”

Kaminari cringed. “Why’d you have to ruin it for me?!”

Jiro snickered nudging Momo who helplessly couldn’t deter herself from smirking.

“Someone should make him some soup.” Todoroki voiced.

“That’s a good idea. I have multiple-“ Momo stood.

“Already handled, guys.” Kiri winked. “Bakugous mom has a certain recipe she uses.”

Kirishima had went up to their floor and saw Izuku trying to communicate with him on the other side.

“What are your symptoms? It’s been a while since you been sick, Kacchan.”

“I can’t sleep with you in my ass!”

Izuku grimaced.

“Ready for your sponge bath?” Kiri teased as he welcomed his self in despite his irritable tone.

He groaned in his pillow. “I’ll kick your sorry asses whether I’m sick or not-“ He pushed his blankets off and made an effort to get up but barely.

“Sit down, cry baby. I’m just getting your mom’s recipe.” he said as he knelt down and opened his drawer.

“How the hell-“

”Stop whining and get back in bed.” Kiri moreso ordered him to and Katsuki wouldn’t ever do what he was told of course but it just so happens he’s too sick to care right now.

Deku thought it was funny how he tried to be exactly that for Kacchan but he guessed He was relieved he had a friend he allowed to be so close to him to take care of him like that.

“Do you any medicine?”

“‘m fine.” He coughed softly before throwing the duvet over his head. “Let me sleep, Izuku.”

”Oh.. okay. I’m sorry you’re sick, Kacchan. You’re the only one who seemed to know it would rain, I thought that’s why you took your jacket.”

Katsuki was tucked well under the covers to hide the blush creeping on his cheeks, but the reason why his jacket had been taken off in the first place just seemed more important.

•

It was a couple hours later, and Ochako found herself waking up with fewer people in the room.

Wow, I must have slept pretty hard.

The smell of spices had lured her. No one was in the kitchen but the stove had a small pot of something brewing. She wondered if someone forgot about their food.

“Sorry about that!” Kiri had come with haste turning off the stove. “I just had to step out for a minute but these herbs gotta marinate for a bit anyway.”

“A family recipe?”

”Kinda. It’s for Bakugou. Last time he was sick his mom found out that I was taking care of him, well she told me where to grab a packet of spices she puts in his soups when he’s sick. It usually kicks it right out of him.”

Ochako beamed. “Kirishima, you’re such a sweet friend.”

Kiri blushed as he’d do it for anyone but Bakugou was his best friend and he was kinda proud. “I am pretty great huh?” Grinning and teasing Uraraka.

“He’s uh.. he’s like actually sick huh?” She crossed her arms and felt something trickle down in her chest.

“Yeah. Nose is stuffy, and he looks like he needs sleep.”

She frowned and rubbed her temple. “Damn.. I feel so horrible.”

“Wait do you feel sick too?”

“No, no.” She sighed hating herself right now. “He’s probably sick because he gave me his jacket. I didn’t wear one because I mean..” she shrugged. “It was decently warm. I didn’t wanna have a stroke or anything but then the rain came, and..”

“Uraraka, chill out. You saying Bakugou gave you his jacket?”

”Yeah. Oh, I need to actually get that back to him.”

Kiri held in his happy dance his best friends heart was growing and also a tease it just so happened to be toward the girl he was sure he was trying to impress lately.

“If ya want, come by tomorrow. He should feel a little better.”

“He won’t be going to school?”

”Oh he’s gonna try but he’s definitely not in the case for that. I’m gonna note that to Mr. Aizawa so he doesn’t sneak.”

Ochako half smiled. “I hope he isn’t that mad.”

Kiri frowned. “I doubt it. If anything he probably is just blaming himself for it.”

“Yeah.. Goodnight, Kiri.” She gave a small wave before walking past the island.

“Plus, even if he is mad at you..” He spoke stirring the soup pot. “Batting your eyes at him might help.”

Ochako turned red. “Wait what..”

“Ya know..” he shrugged. “You two always giving each other eyes and stuff. It’ll probably make him forget it.”

”Ugh- Wha.. Kirishima! You’re hysterical..” She semi laughed and shook her head.

“Mhm. Goodnight.” He smiled back at her.

Uraraka had volunteered to be the one to take his homework to him. Usually it was Kirishima or even Deku lately but seeing she had to return his jacket anyway it just seemed to fit.

She had handwashed and dried it off for him. It really was kinda big on her. Especially the arms. Hee brain scrambled to what she’d look like in his shirts and she quickly and embarrassedly shook that thought away. She wasn’t his girlfriend why would she start thinking that??..

”Bakugou?” She knocked a few small times. “Are you awake? I have your homework and your jacket.”

She didn’t hear anything at first so she assumed he was sleeping really well or just didn’t feel like answering the door. She pursed her lips.

“I’ll just leave it at the door..” she leant down to place it neatly and as she did the door swung open.

“Had to get clothes on.”

He mumbled bending down to grab the books and his jacket.

“Oh.” A blush appeared as she imagined he was most likely naked before knocking.

“Tch. ‘M not a pervert. I sweated through my other clothes.” he nods to his basket.

“Oh!” She nodded. You may not be a pervert but I’m obviously am. She was even more embarrassed now.

She looked other parts in his room. “Wow.. I never knew your room was so nice.”

He gave her a once over. “Tch.”

“Not in a bad way!” Her hands arose. “It’s just I thought it would have more.. edgy stuff? Or maybe All might figurines like Deku’s.”

”Yeah after seeing his room, I think I’m good.”

She laughed crossing her arms. “Well..I also wanted to say I was sorry. I didn’t know I caused you to be sick..”

He knitted his brows. “I took off my jacket, Round face. You didn’t make me.”

”Yeah, but-“

”Oi!” Her doe brown eyes gawking. “I said you didn’t make me.”

He was stern and made no room for hesitation. Part of it made her feel heat somewhere and another part of her really respected he took the responsibility.

No doubt her cheeks were flaring right now.

“Okay.. I’ll uh..” she nodded back to the door.

He stared as she awkwardly walked. Voices going between from making a move on her and telling him he was still sick and gross so it wouldn’t be any good and he’ll look stupid.

“You liked wearing it?”

She was in the doorframe frowning at what he meant.

“The jacket.”

“Oh..Uhm.. it was.. cozy.” She shrugged bashfully.

He nods. “You looked pretty in it.”

Pigs are flying. The cow went over the moon, and Katsuki Bakugou gave her a really really sweet compliment.

Before she could muster a thank you or a WHAT?! He closed the door. He looked semi nervous the had said that but another part of her seen a glint smirk like he was proud of it.

Katsuki Bakugou thought she looked.. pretty.

Chapter Text

“You’re serious?”

Ochako gave Tsu a bearing look. “I don’t know maybe he had some heavy cough medicine.”

“Ah yes. Couch syrup. Mans beverage of choice to get drunk and do stupid stuff.” Jirou adds to the conversation.

Ochako pouted. They were in the girls locker room bathroom. She had told Tsu as the girls were taking their time to soak but the room wasn’t great for privacy.

“It makes things a little complicated. Kero. You don’t think this is him going back to his old ways to annoy Midoriya do you?”

Ochako sulked and shook her head. “I don’t think so. He and Deku seem to be friendly and stuff so..I don’t know what to think of it.”

“Why not give him a chance? I bet he’s really cute when he’s nice!” Tooru nudged her.

“Who’s cute?!” Mina chimed in wirn a towel wrapped in her hair. “I’ll be the judge of that!”

“Good luck.” Jirou mumbled before going to the lockers.

“Well?” Mina began using her hair dryer. “I wanna know, Chako chip!”

“I er- have to go get dressed! Don’t wanna freeze in this towel.” she marched to the lockers.

Mina finished up and followed being the nosy gremlin she is.

“Must be spicy if it’s a secret!”

Ochako ruffled with her underwear and so on. “It’s not that important.”

“Hey.” Mina closed in. “Why would you say that? What is it like about Midoriya?”

Ochako sighed. “No.” Sliding her stockings on. “Honestly it’s about someone else and I don’t know.. they’re acting weird and-“

“Bakugou?”

Ochako blushed. “How did you know?”

Mina gasped. “I didn’t! You guys have been so close lately I just figured he’d attempt eventually.” She cockily grinned crossing her arms and leaning against the lockers.

“Well, it was just a small thing! He was sick and he hasn’t made a move since! So there’s no reason-“

“Uh huh. We’ll see.” Mina began spraying her perfume on her neck and chest.

Ochako frowned at her pink friends choice of words. “Mina what does that mean?”

“Huh?” She played oblivious. “Nothing!” She booped her nose before dressing.

“Just one verse! I promise I’ll make it worth your while!” Kiri hovered over Jirou.

“I don’t know if the song is for two people, Kiri.”

“We can make it like that though! We can totally Evanescence this!”

Jirou smirked. “As much as I love that reference, I don’t know. Guess we could try?”

“Alright, thanks!” He embraced her making her blush. She didn’t have boys hug her or pay much physical attention to her except for Kaminari and Kirishima was quite broad and masculine so it was an annoying trait to always blush when that happened.

“Bakugou, can I count on you as our drummer again?”

“Tch. Like I don’t have anything better to do?”

“You’re the only drummer I know.” She shrugged.

He scowled his pride wounded.

“Hey, come on, Bakubro your skills are amazing! Plus we can be on stage together!” Kiri’s arm wrapped around his neck.

Katsuki scowled and pushed him off. “Yeah he’s probably got a hot date.” Mina giggled. “By the way, Ocha is probably gonna be too busy too.” She sipped her juice.

Katsuki scowled and his can drink slowly crushing in his grasp.

“Wha- dude you dating someone?” Denki fully invested. “How does a guy who shouts at threats everywhere we go gets a girl first?!”

“I don’t have a girlfriend, jerkoff. Shut the hell up.” He growled and without realizing looking back to Ochako talking with her friend group.  “Fine.” Nodding to Jirou.

“Good.” She made a confused expression before exhaling. Finding another drummer would have been exhausting.

Mina began choreographing the dance team as the band practiced.

“Mina I feel these outfits are a little-“ Ochako hand combed over the purple and black frilly skirt.

“I’d think you like it, Chako!” Mina sasses wirn her fists on her hips. “You get to wear your tights!”

She looked down at tethered stockings. “Was I mauled by cats?”

The theme was gothic. It was Halloween down the road. The girls dressed with comfortable corsets, with skirts. The boys in black tops of their choice as long as it fit the theme with the eye make up and fake piercings.

“Okay guys take five.” Jirou rubbed her temples.

“I can deal without the heavy liner.” Kiri struggled to keep from scratching.

“Don’t ruin it! You have to practice with it on!”  Mina swatted him with a roll of paper.

Ochako would sneak glances at him just to see him also staring but unlike her he wouldn’t turn his attention away.

It confused her. When he was being a jerk, he was intolerable and when he’s being like.. this.. It didn’t help. She hadn’t looked at anyone like that.. had he? She thinks he had when he’d glare at Todoroki or Deku. It’s that stare when he couldn’t figure someone out.. is that what he was doing? Trying to figure her out..

“Chako.”

“Huh?” Uraraka snapped.

Tsu rose her brows. “You’re overthinking most like.”

She exhaled. “Yeah.. I feel so confused right now.. about Bakugou.” She couldn’t help but feel more screwy about it. Ruffling her hair out of frustration.

“Tsk tsk!” Mina swatted her hands.

“Ow!”

Mina caught the glare which was most likely causing her frantic need to ruin her ‘edgy Uraraka’ hairstyle. “Go over there.” She cocked her brows as she gave her demand.

Ochako scoffed. “No way!”

“Why not?” Tsu asks catching Uraraka surprise.

“Why not?”

“You two have gotten closer.. He complimented you. He seems to not care we’re noticing him stare. Kero. Just think it’s the next thing is to go over there.”

“See?” Mina pushed her. “Stop acting aloof and go over there before we start.”

Ochako with the help of her rather masculine friend was more closer to the drum set to just turn around.

Katsuki cocked a brow. He nodded as she approached.

“Hey..” she chirped with her hands tied behind her back.

He nodded as he was teetering at his drum sticks.

“You looked great out there! Everyone is doing a good job.. I don’t think I’d be able to ever do this stuff.”

”Tch.”

”What?”

”Simple shit, Cheeks. Pick up an instrument and practice.”

Ochako rolled her eyes and chuckled. Ah the ego.

Not as simple as hard as that is for your excellency to believe.”

“If you’re lazy, just say it, Round face.” He smirked.

Her round cheeks puffed out and frowned. She exhaled. “I’m not getting lessons to make you feel better.”

She wouldn’t, but she also didn’t have the finances to just sacrifice grocery allowance to take lessons to convince McBlasto.

“Pussy.” He mumbled.

She closed up on him pushing her index finger in his chest.

Flustered at how thin his tank was. He swallowed. “I’m not a pussy.”

“Prove it.” He seethed with challenging eyes.

“I’m not doing shit to prove anything! If you want me to take lessons from someone so bad, you pay for it!”

“I’d be teaching you, moron!”

Ochakos cheeks ran red.

“Uhm.. You?”

“Tch.” He scoffed raising up his orange and black drum sticks. “Not like you’d find a better one.”

“You probably don’t wanna take your free time out to-“

”Do I look the type to invest in time wasting, Angel face?”

She sighs and slightly smirks. “I’m not.. really a musical person, Bakugou. I mean no offense..” she shrugs rubbing her palms together. “You’re not exactly teacher material.”

He scowled. “Ha!” Crossing his arms. “What’s there to best? Teaching is just educating brats with shit they don’t know. I mean if you can’t handle me..” He flexed.

She cocked her brow. “Oh? I think I’ve proven that.”

Katsuki almost purred.

”After breakfast.” He nods.

”Huh?” Her arms dropped.

”We’ll start after breakfast. Unless you’re chicken shit of not being better than me. Slim chances but hey no shame in admitting, huh?” He teased.

She scowled. “I’ll be there!”

With that she stormed back to her friends as they waited for an upstate of their strange situationship.

•

Ochako slipped on her ducky slippers and pink hoodie. On a Sunday, she’d rather sneak back up to her room and take a nap, but she had to admit, being in his room was making her nervous and interested in getting a better view of where many didn’t get to see.

“So?” She shrugged.

He sat on one of the arms of the couch as he one upped her. “Go get dressed.” he ordered with a shrug and like he was annoyed he had to tell her to do the simplest thing.

She frowned and looked down at her comfy Sunday fit. “Why? It’s just your room.”

“We’re not going to my room.” He scrunched.

She knitted her brows. They weren’t allowed in the studio when it wasn’t rehearsal hours.

“Well, where are we going?” Her shoulders bopped.

“My home. Duh.” He tossed a whole eaten apple in the trash.

His home.. where his parents are.. his childhood was.. Ochako Uraraka was about to just go inside him house and practice with him?..

Katsuki looked back as he waited for the boys’ elevator to come down. The brunette was floating as she was in her own world as usual. His neck tanned pink as the thought of her being somewhat nervous in his home. A smirk appearing on his lips as the elevator doors closed.

Chapter Text

“So.. is your mom used to your friends coming with you?”

Bakugou had all his phone back in his pocket. Making sure they’d be alone. Kirishima and Kaminari had been over a couple times but not much considering he’d not live here anymore. His old friends were only granted permission when he felt like which was usually never due to them getting too comfortable.

“I guess..” he entered the code for the door to open.

Ochako was really nervous. Between this being the first boys house she actually been in and it being Bakugou of all her close guy friends it was just super unexpected.

“Oh.. wow!” His home was spacious and so well decorated. The structure and set up was something she seen in magazines. Something she said she’d want her future home to look like. “Oh it smells amazing!”

Katsuki wouldn’t admit it out loud to save his pride but he almost cried smelling the aroma of his home. Part of him wanted to reign in his age and come back home and take it easy, but he’d take weekends here to help suffice that temporary feel.

“Thirsty?” He mumbled as he walked through his home.

“Oh, uhm no thank you. So where is everyone?”

“Heh?” He cocked a brow coming back from grabbing a water from his fridge.

“Your parents. Duh.” She giggled.

He didn’t tell her. It’s not like he’s trying to be a creep but he didn’t need jaws and lamb here to make this dramatic.

“They’re not here.”

He noticed the color in her cheeks darken and he hoped he didn’t make her uncomfortable. He didn’t care how he offended people but making someone(he may have questionable interest in) feel weirded out made him feel sick.

“Oh..”

“Look, it’s not a big deal but if ya wanna go home-“

“No!”

He looked back to her with a relaxed interest.

She let her shoulders lay back. “It’s okay. I mean I should have asked but it’s okay. I trust you.” She smiled shrugging holding her hands behind her.

It made him appreciate her outfit a little more. A bright yellow demin jean skirt with a white loose sleeveless top tucked into it.

To keep her from seeing any sign of infatuation he rubbed the back of his neck and nodded to the back. “This way.”

She noticed he didn’t scowl when she said that. Usually comments like give him grievance, but his expression still seemed soft.

She followed him past the dining room and to the doorway to the garage.

“Wow.. It’s kinda big for a garage.” She scanned the space.

“Yea well when cars aren’t in here, I imagine so, dumbass.”

She rolled her eyes and noticed the reason she came. His own actual drumset.

“Catch.”

Before Uraraka could ask, his tied drum sticks flew in the air and she activated her quirk before they could reach the cold floor.

“Wait- Me first?” She asked as if she forgot that’s what this whole thing was for.

“What you’d thought I was giving you a free show?” He snickered cockily.

She frowned. “Despite watching you explode your garage which sounds lovely, I didn’t expect you’d trust me just yet.”

“Don’t you trust me?” He turned and asked and although he held no ill tone she knew it was a real honest question.

She supposed she did. He is painfully amazing at everything he tries and he’d make a good teacher if he wasn’t such an ass sometimes.

She nodded.

He pulled a chair up behind the drummers seat, slapping the cushion hard enough to make a loud noise. “Well sit down already!” He groaned while taking his own seat.

She supposed it was dumb to assume that wouldn’t make his palm sting. His palms are probably used to pain.

“Wow this is actually nice.” She beams as she settles. Finding the right position for her arms.

As if she forgot, from behind he began instructing her.

“Keep your right foot rested on the pedal. It won’t go down unless you force it.”

She positioned her foot and his voice felt a little distant when he spoke again. She guessed he was relaxing back at this point.

“Start a beat on Hi.”

“Hi.. right.” She nodded and clicked her tongue. “I will do that.” Looking for whatever one that was. Should she have searched this up?..

“Okay.” He stood up going through a drawer and labeled them.

She admired his writing. Even just marking things he seemed to have a nice way of doing it.

“Back to it, Round face. Make a beat. Hi.”

She nodded while making distracting noises.

“What are ya waiting for?” His agitated tone chimed in.

She jerked her shoulders up. “I don’t know what tune to use.”

“You know Queen, Cheeks?”

“What?”

“Queen. Ya know, the classics. Shit you apparently know.” He emphasizes.

“Oh! The band!”

“Tch. Yeah, the band.” He rolled his eyes. “We will rock you. It’s simple enough beat.”

“Simple for even me?” She poked.

“You know what I mean!”

She laughed at how annoyed and defensive he got. Giving it a go. It was kinda cool but after a moment she felt she was growing kinda bored of it. “Should I do another or..”

“No. Keep doing that.”

She pursed her lips and waited fil he spoke again which wasn’t for another moment.

“Switch to spare and floor.”

‘Spare and floor’. She mouthed while changing her routine.

The beat was a little off and Katsuki could tell it was stressing her.

“Relax your shoulders.”

She paused for a moment and tried letting her shoulders sink before continuing. Uraraka could feel him staring at her back and she supposed what else would he stare at? It’s not like he could see her face anyway.

“Damn cheeks you’re not an animatronic.” He commented before she felt two hands hold her waist gently. “Relax a little.”

Relax? Relax?! Your hands are around me right now, you idiot!

Face fully red. His hand was on her boob the other day so this should be nothing.

“Uh-okay.” Trying to comply so she doesn’t squeak like an idiot.

“Work on your cymbals now.. Make sure to use the pedal in between.”

Ochako was actually feeling more comfortable now. It was kinda funny thinking about it. He was actually really good at this and to think she was getting the hang of it just by his hands on her.

Man.. she really didn’t mean for it to sound dirty but it did make her feel her hormones turn up.

A little while later goes on, and he’s switching the volumes and after she was comfortable and understanding the instrument, he stood.

“Well?” His brow lifted a smirk.

She felt pumped and giddy. “It was awesome! I still feel kinda lost on when to change symbols though.”

A little too comfortable now, he lowered behind her positioning her arms. “It depends on what you’re tuning with. We didn’t do anything fast paced but if you do, the rhythm kinda guides you..Like this..”

Katsuki pulls the chair a little closer sitting behind her. His knees propped behind her where she’d almost be in his lap if it weren’t for their chairs.

He held the sticks and gestured to the toms and cymbals if it were a different tune.

Seeing his hands and tetheredness sent a strike of heat through her. She got a whiff of his cologne. It wasn’t thick but it was kind of like his car smell. Something you can’t get enough of.

On impulse she looked to the side where his face was and before he turned she was embarrassingly gazing at his bone structure. From his nose, cheek bones and jaw bones. Then his vermilions caught hers in her crime of wander.

Her round doe browns never snapping away as his eyes didn’t show irritation or distraught.

Both silently gulping. Why were they this close? So close they literally could feel the others breath hit their face. For a vulnerable moment, Katsuki felt that known weakness hit him again. The kind that hit him when she made comments or teasing remarks or when she really flexed her strength. His face as if on instinct lowered toward hers.

Til the alarming buzz in his pocket made him jerk and with a violent exhale he pulled it out of his pocket noticing it was his mother. She must have seen his car from the surveillance.

”Shit..” he mumbled. He’d not want to wait around for her to come by and make this worse.

Ochako sat there red, confused and flustered. Was she about to kiss Bakugou?.. or was he going to kiss her?..

That would be such an awkward drive home!

”We should get goin..”

“Oh. Right!” She gave a brave smile and gave him his drumsticks and quicker than he anticipated she was already waiting for him in the jeep.

Bakugou was kinda grateful. He needed the space to really take in he was about to suck face with Ochako Uraraka. Pride and Guilt ran over him. Pride because she’s badass and the damn prettiest thing he’d seen.. Guilt because.. part of him felt Deku had some claim on her still. Even though he seemed oblivious to her feelings or romantic feelings that is, and she seemed to not try so hard for his attention like before.. His own issue with insecurity would bubble up.

The car ride home was awkward. Thankfully, Bakugou didn’t stay quiet the whole time. He managed to finally present to her his road rage. She assumed it was to cover the tension.

She thanked him for the lesson and hoped to conquer it one day and he nodded and said whatever. Not much. Guessed it was better than nothing. She just needed to shower and shake off this weird feeling but part of her felt she was washing off his scent. Why did that upset her? She liked the feeling that someone might smell him on her.. was that weird? It felt weird.

“Chaks!” Mina bounced toward her interrupting her own selfs conversation with Kyoka. “Guess what I managed to pull together? Go ahead! Guess!”

Before Ochako could guess, Tsu introduced herself into the conversation. “Hey, Chako. Where were you?”

“Oh- I was just out.” She shrugged. She didn’t think right here in the common area was the best place to say where she was.

“Did Mina tell you about class A and B sleepover yet? Kero.”

Mina gasped. “Tsu Asui! She was supposed to guess!” She whined.

”Sorry..” Tsu gave an awkward apology.

”It doesnt matter.” Mina waved it off as it didn’t. “What does matter is we get all the goodies to make for tonight’s fun! Momo, we’re burning daylight!” She groaned back as she was discussing a list with Ida and Sato

Momo gave her a motherly scold look.

“Well, you guys have fun!” Ochako smiled and was making the move to go toward the stairs til Mina skipped before her.

“No way, you have to come with! Tooru and Kyoka has to stay to go over rules wirn Aizawa and Vlad king so that’s up to me, you, Tsu and Momo-“ she turned around “if she hurries her butt up!”

“Oh I don’t know guys-“

”Any sweets you want on me!”

You treacherous treacherous woman!

“Ochako, where were you at?”

Ochako looked back at Tsu and away from the cookies for a moment and blushed.

“I did notice Bakugou was also among the missing today.”

“it’s not that serious, Tsu. Really.” She sighed pretending to read the ingredients on a small bag of vanilla wafers.

“I won’t push you if you don’t want me to.. but you know I am only here as your friend right? Kero. If you are enjoying being with Bakugou I wouldn’t be opposed.” Tsu wasn’t entirely honest. Morely yea, she wasn’t Bakugous enemy or someone who didn’t root for his character.. but seeing two different people collide as such, and one do them is her best friend she couldn’t help but be concerned.

“I know..” she looked around. “We went for a.. drum lesson.. but I think we..almost kissed..” she whispered.

”Almost k-“ she raised her voice before Ochako gently covered her mouth.

“Tsu!”

“I’m sorry.. I didn’t expect to hear that..Did you?”

”No..”

“You don’t look happy about that..”

”Wha..” she shrugged. “I don’t know.. Bakugou had this..”

“He’s hot.”

Ochakos eyes widened. “Huh?! Did you just say that?” She guffawed.

“I mean not to me no, but to most girls in our school he is.”

“Yeah..I forgot about that.” She couldn’t help but feel a weird and unwelcoming twist.

“He doesn’t really notice them though. Kero. Well, he does but he tries scaring them away.”

“I don’t think it works.” She chuckled.

“Remember that one girl who made a full binder of pictures of him?”

”He almost fainted.” Ochako wheezed.

“I would do the same. Kero.”

”It is kinda weird I guess. I mean but sometimes you can’t help who you like.”

”Speaking of which.. Are you and Midoriya still friendly?”

”Huh?”

”I mean.. do you still think about him?”

Ochako knew Tsu knew.. but it’s not something she’s exactly happy to talk about. “I don’t know.. I haven’t felt.. much lately.”

”Because of Bakugou?”

”I don’t know..” she shrugged.

“If you and Bakugou did ever.. become something, it’s best to be honest with him about that. I think despite his flaws, he’d be honest first as well. Kero.”

Ochako nodded. She knew that too but a relationship? And with Bakugou? She’d never think that far ahead.

“Bro!” Kirishima was trying to hype him up with once Bakugou confessed what happened at his parents house.

”Don’t be stupid.”

“Come on, man.” Kiri continued with his reps as Katsuki was sitting on the edge of Kirishima’s bed. Arms leant over his knees and deep in thought. “You’re being a man about how you feel! I’m proud of ya!”

”The fuck you know how I feel?” Katsuki scowled pouting.

“Think I don’t know? Wanting to impress her, liking any attention they give you but it also makes you so tense you feel nauseous.. Feeling your necks hair stand up and feel hot when they laugh.. You’re into her dude, I can tell.. and by the sound of it. You know you are too.”

“So what the hell do I do?”

”You’re asking me?”

“No, the moron behind you- yes you! I don’t know what I’m supposed to do! If I try anything what if she backs out or still wants Deku?”

”Dude I gotta tell you, I love Midoriya but he’s not a relationship dude. I mean I think he like ya know, has feelings and-“

”Don’t go any further.”

Kiri chuckled. “I think Uraraka knows that too. I mean you two should probably talk about that.”

Katsuki’s jaw clenched. He knew it was too soon.. She probably most definitely had unresolved thoughts for him in the least.. but big part of him wanted to help her get rid of that.. but another part of him felt he was robbing Izuku. Maybe he wanted this.. even if he acts and seems aloof of it.

“Wow, Sato! You make such good treats. I am horrible at baking.” Kendo had another lemon puff.

“I’m happy bake you some anytime. With the extra time for us to do whatever lately I’ve decided to just start giving out a lot of my baked goods. Well other than when Uraraka takes a box of them.” He winks at her and Ochako smiled nervously.

”Sorry, but they’re so good!”

“Tch. I can make better.” Bakugou grumbled with his mouth full.

“Yea stuffing your mouth with them isn’t at all convincing.” Sero teased making Bakugou scowl.

Ochako had been thinking about talking to Bakugou. They’d got closer. They definitely were about to kiss.. and despite trying to be firm and real with herself how she feels, when he wears a headband up his bangs like he is now with a snug tank on.. it was kinda hard to focus.

“When are we getting back to games?” Kaminari asked like a child asking if they’re there yet while stuffing meat balls in his mouth.

“Don’t worry, Ashido has fun games for us planned!” Momo cheerfully stated.

“Arm wrestling?!” Tetsutetsu flexed.

“Why so you can lose?” Bakugou challenged.

“As I recall, friend last time-“ Neito chimed.

”Because you had cheated!” Kiri’s palm firm on the table.

“Is being a sore loser manly, Red riot?”

Eijiro scowled but by yank of Pinky’s fingers in his hair braiding he’d settle for muttering curse words.

“Ease, big guy. How you going to handle the mouth of a villain if you can’t handle his mouth, huh?”

He pouted but Mina was right.

“I’m no villain.” Monama placed a hand over his chest.

“You’re going to be thrown out if you don’t shut it.” Kendo warned.

As they stopped snacking and playing cards, Mina called them for the living area. There was a hat filled with peoples names. “So our first game is going to be called would you rather, ask the person next to you, and if anyone passes-“ she looks to Bakugou, someone gets to dare them!”

“Sounds like fun!” Deku beamed.

“Wait a minute, I’d like to know what dares Midoriya has got up his sleeve.” Sero teased.

“Okay, okay. We’ll go in a line. Todoroki, you’re up!”

He cleared his throat and didn’t want to underplay this or over do it. He pondered.

“Midoriya. Would you rather be allergic to cats or dogs?”

”Hm.” He placed a finger on his chin. “I never owned a dog so it would be a bummer to never get the chance. However, my grandmother had a cat and well he didn’t like me much.. but I think it was because I was petting it wrong, perhaps if I used another technique to-“

”Someone make him stop!” Denki begged.

“Midoriya.” Ida cleared his throat. “Let’s not linger, there are others after all.”

”Oh! Right!” Deku felt embarrassed and worried he’d upset others. “I guess cats is my answer.”

Deku looked to his other side where Tokage sat.

“Make it hard.”

Sero and Kaminari peeping at each other.

“Okay, would you rather become Japans number greatest number one or be a universal rescue hero and save millions?”

“Tch!” Bakugou griped. “you’re asking that as if All might could be beat!”

“It’s just parend, Kacchan. I know she couldn’t be the greatest.” Izuku looked back to Tokage with a concerned fringe. “Oh! I didn’t mean you can’t-“

”Is it because I’m a woman, Midoriya?!”

“No that’s not it!” He waved frantically.

“No it’s because you suck!” Bakugou griped.

The sound of people trying to calm down and the other quite entertained.

“Enough!” Kendo slammed her big hands together.

“Thank you, Itsuka.” Momo bowed. “Midoriya, your words weren’t thoughtful and you should apologize. Tokage, Midoriya would never demean you as a woman. It’s only due to his lifelong adoration for All might.”

Tokage nodded and gave Izuku a look of understanding. “I guess a rescue hero. It’s what it’s about anyway.”

As the line goes down, Denki looked to Jirou. “Would you marry me?”

Jirou slapped his calf as the students laughed. “Be serious, jackass.”

Katsuki leaned back as if he had better stuff to do. He didn’t.. but this game was getting boring. His eyes began to wander and caught a pair of round browns glaring and quickly moved away when he caught them. His lips finding its curl to turn to a smirk.

“Okay, Bakugou it’s your turn. Remember, you gotta get dared if you don’t answer.” kirishima teased.

“If it’s stupid, I’ll kill you.”

“Okay, buddy.” Kiri grinned. “Would you rather be given three wishes but it can’t be to become number one or would you rather solve world hunger?”

Katsuki’s jaw dropped. “Are you fucking idiot?!”

“What?”

”First of all, I don’t need to wish for number one, I’ll obtain it easy! Secondly, who asks something like that?! Save people from hunger or get a wish, Gee I don’t know Kirishima!”

”That does sound unfair.” Ida agreed. “But rules are rules, Bakugou.”

“I’m not answering him!”

“Then you understand you’re up for a dare?”

”Tch! Anything’s better than his stupid question!” Katsuki scowled.

Ochako wondered who’d be the one daring. What would they ask him to do.. As she thought it was her turn to be asked.

“Okay, Uraraka, would you rather be a great actress but star in gory horror films that kept you up at night or be a star in romantic dramas but any guy you kissed on set was bad at kissing?” Tooru asked.

“Oh- uhh..” She felt a little embarrassed answering. She hasn’t kissed anyone before so saying the second one felt really personal but the first one seemed a little drastic. Who knew Tooru had such a question to give..

“I guess the second one? I mean it’s not like I gotta be with them in real life anyway.”

As the game went on, the only player who didn’t comply was Bakugou.

“Okay, so I have a preferable punishment but I think I’d like to hear some suggestions!” Mina wagged her control around.

“Kill me.” Katsuki grumbled.

“Warned ya.” Kiri shrugged.

“Ooh ooh!” Denki raised his hand. “Make him take a modeling gig for us to laugh at!”

“We could make him eat junk food and quit working out for a week?” Todoroki suggested.

“Me getting fat is not gonna happen, icy bastard!”

“We should put him in a dress and make him get guys’ numbers.” Tokage added.

”Tch. Bitch.” He muttered.

“Well, as much as that last one would be fun I think I’ll stick with mine. Bakugou you are being sentenced to seven minutes in heaven.”

The sound of ‘ooh’s’ filled the room. He frowned confused and not at all aware of what that is.

“He doesn’t know what it is!” Sero wheezed.

“Shut up!”

Kiri leaned over whispering what the part entailed and watching his face dropped made it funnier to the group.

“In your dreams, Racoon eyes!”

“Well not with me, Romeo! Someone else, I’ve just not decided yet!”

“You’re deciding?!”

”Uh huh! So I guess you better start being nice to me.” Mina grinned.

Tsu noticed Ochako’s curious and unsettling focus.

“Why don’t we make it a game? Kero.”

“What’s that, Tsu?” Mina batted a barking Bakugou away.

“We could play a game for it. Something fair. Sorry, Kirishima but you did give a bad question.”

Kiri shrugged and Mina decided to agree a game it is.

“Okay, firstly, off you go!” Mina shoo’d Bakugou to a closet as he growled. Uraraka face Tsu a warm smile as she knew what she did why she did. “Now, everyone who is willing to sit in the closet with Yours truly, please get in the middle.”

Some were nervous and some knew better.

“Midoriya?” Deku’s hand raised and he was given suspicious sounds and looks.

“I was just wondering what if it was just talking?”

“Ugh! Then his punishment would mean nothing!”

“Hey, Koda send a goat in there.” Denki snickered.

“Poor goat.” Jiro commented.

“Perhaps this is a little too much, Mina. I mean it could-“ Momo began to whisper.

“I wouldn’t be opposed to-“ Yui raised her hand.

“Ooh! A volunteer!”

Ochako clenched the rug beneath her. she didn’t see if Tsu’s eyes were on her if Mina gave a curious look to her. “Me too! Plus, Bakugou is comfortable with me.”

“Wouldn’t he be more comfortable with a girl he barely knows though if he has to kiss her?” Monama mentions.

“Hm.. Sounds like a challenge!” Mina grinned.

“Uraraka vs. Kodai!”

“Arm wrestle!” Kiri and Tetsutetsu shouted.

“No arm wrestling!” Ida grieved.

“Well, it’s when you think about it it’s not so competitive when you men do it. Plus, if anyone helps the other cheat, you have to leave. Whoever wins should win on their own!”

“Well.. I suppose if Yaoyorozu feels the same way.” Ida Checked.

“I suppose. Okay, Mina.”

“Yes! Alricht, Queens! Let’s do this! Bring your biceps!” They went to the dining tables and once they’re positioned Uraraka’s sleeve is rolled up showing off her short but noticeable muscles.

“It’s all about being calm and knowing your enemy.” Todoroki warned.

“It’s not that serious, Todoroki.” Jirou commented.

“Not sure why this is happening but I know you can do this!” Deku gave her a cheer.

“Ladies, on one! 3,2..1!”

The girls immediately went at it. Yui wasn’t ripped but she wasn’t weak either. She definitely had strength to her but Uraraka had an advantage. Kodai hasn’t had her combat experience, and near death experience. Ochako knew if she believed in her goal, she’d get there. She knew it was highly possible Bakugou wouldn’t kiss this girl.. but who’s she to let that chance go amiss? If anyone was gonna kiss him, it should be her!

“Let’s go, Yui!” Kinoko cheered.

“Bakugou literally having girls fight over him was not expected tonight.” She heard Sero say. It wasn’t about that.. this girl may have some crush and she gets that.. He’s ridiculously handsome, wealthy, successful, strong, smart, honest.. with a pinch of rudeness.

Was this her type now? Jeez.. she’ll blame it on hormones. One minute she’s making a love note to her crush the next she’s falling for his former bully.

“Winner! Uravity!”

Ochako wasn’t even paying attention. She was thinking about him and her arm did its own thing. The look on Kodai faces wasn’t disappointing either. She almost looked relieved. She was grateful and wouldn’t put any why into that.

“Not sure why we’re congratulating.” Todoroki mumbled as now she is sentenced with him.

As the others went to the kitchen to grab refreshments, she caught Izuku’s stare. He was curious for sure. She guessed it looked weird to see her fighting hard for Bakugou. She’d have to get to the bottom of how they both feel though to understand before she could talk to Izuku about it.

As Ochako turned the knob, and opened the door to Bakugou on his phone the color in his cheeks whitened and he exhaled.

“Hey..”

“Hey..” she softly smiled.

Chapter Text

Rubies that were either so enraged with fury or so nonchalant bore into her as she stood there. Felt as if they were undressing her brain of what she was there to say.

“Can I sit?”

He nodded to his right. “Hell you need me to invite you.”

Ochako bit back a smirk and crossed her legs beside him. “Can’t believe you came in here..”

”The rules ain’t it?”

“Yea.. but you’re not really one to follow someone’s orders.”

He opened his mouth to close it. He couldn’t disagree.. but he didn’t know.. something inside his gut told him to play along. Maybe it’s his way of becoming more of the group.

A quiet moment went by.

“Why’d you come in here?”

She bit her lip and shrugged. “I don’t know..”

He didn’t expect her to really say much but secretly he thought it wouldn’t be the worse thing to hear she wanted to come in here.

He crossed his arms. “Well, you don’t gotta stay in here.”

Ochako seeing the work before her. Apparently, obliviousness wasn’t just Deku’s thing.

Or.. maybe he wasn’t that.. but scared.. Bakugou may seem scary and threatening.. but as she looked over at his arms propped on his knees, she knew he was as human as she was. There’s no way he couldn’t possibly be dodging all of this energy.. unless he wanted to.

“I want to be here..”

Why was his chest so damn hot and cold right now? Is this what that icy bastard feels like all the time? He hated it. Why did it happen with her around..

”Why’s that, Pink cheeks?”

She knew he was aware of it. That barely noticeable crack in his voice gave it away. Thank goodness.. she didn’t know if she’d have the boldness to be as brave as Mina when it came to stuff like this.

“Because I wanted to be the one that got to kiss you.”

As if a roof of bricks fell to its ground due to gravity giving you a reality check. It was out there. No more tension behind the curtain. A breath escaping their lips in sudden surreal relief and fear that a confession came out of one of their lips.

To her surprise Bakugou didn’t leave. He didn’t look upset or embarrassed.. He looked to his right and Ochako knew she wasn’t floating but worried she’d almost vomit at how her stomach was churning and fluttering at the way his vermilions would switch from her eyes to her lips.

Did he know he was looking at her like this? Was he so unaware of how beautiful he was with such an vulnerable expression he had..

With no hesitation. Katsuki leaned in and pressed his lips into hers softly.

Ochako could have squealed but she kept silent. His lips were so warm and soft.. just as she thought they’d be. Did she wonder before? She couldn’t remember. She didn’t remember anything as of now.

He leaned back rolling his lips as if he was testing the feel of her lips too. “Have you ever kissed anyone?”

”Uhm..”

He smirked leaning in again with more drive. His hand cupping the side of her neck. His thumb running over her cheek. His lips still tender but seemingly to know what they were doing.

Her hand found his as his fingers were inching more in her hair. Once his tongue slightly made contact with her bottom lip, she whimpered at the feel.

Bakugou released but kept close contact still. “Fuck did I ruin it?” His voice horse but there was real concern.

“No..I never..” Finding herself blushing as it wasn’t crazy she a teenager who had been fighting for her and the worlds tomorrow hadn’t kissed a boy like this before but it’s the fact she didn’t think Bakugou actually kissed much girls either but why was he so good at it..

”Do ya wanna?”

The way his tone could then so softly playful but still give her goosebumps made her giggle. She nods giving him the flag to go again.

Her soft and surprised whimpers were fuel for him. Ochako kissed back but moreso she enjoyed and preferred to his lead. He lowered his hand from her hair, to her neck again. Softly he roamed her neck sheeting her flesh with his warm palm.

Once both releasing a kiss, they collected their breath with their backs resting against the wall. Why did it feel their kiss lasted for the entire night and as if it took a marathon out of them.

“Wanna..” he scratched his head. “Skip this cornball shit they got going on out there and hang out?”

He asked as if he wasn’t afraid of rejection and one part screamed for him to do what he just did and possibly more but then she was afraid this was going so fast she wouldn’t be able to come back to pace.

”What would we do?”

“Nothing you don’t want to.”

She could go back with the others. She confessed. She kissed him.. Oh yeah.. they totally kissed She smirked to herself.. but she also knew what it felt to have his lips and hand on her.. She wasn’t sure she was ready to stop feeling what he made her feel tonight just yet.

“Okay.”

The phone rang repeatedly on her nightstand. She was so exhausted and thought she could ignore it but perhaps this is the punishment for getting back to her room so late.

She rose up silencing her alarm and ran her hand up her neck. Thinking of how his lips found her neck briefly in his room last night was such a sensation she wasn’t sure if words were even possible to ensue.

He never went futher than that. He did have some control after all. The way the same man had used those hands to bring such exhaust and defeat upon her at the sports festival and now they were cradling her so sensually was such a massive wave of vulnerability.

Once it got late and she knew the girls would probably check on her at some point, he did give her a nod. “Later.” He mumbled nonchalantly. He wasn’t as cool and mysterious as he tried to be sometimes. She held back a giggle.
