Chapter 1: Introduction to the Snow
Chapter Text
January 10th 2019: Tokyo.
The light switch is flicked on. The morgue is suddenly illuminated. Okkotsu Yuta sighs as the humming from the ceiling lights deafen the room. Yuta takes a step forward looking at the rows of corpses waiting to be cremated. They never had the chance to give the sorcerers that perished during the culling games a proper send off. After Gojo Sensei's funeral it was decided that a mass cremation was to be held. With the ashes to be given to family members of the dead. Which is ironic seeing what happened to the Zenin clan.
“Let’s just get this all over with.” Yuta says, grabbing his katana. Suddenly a voice calls from behind him.
“Well this isn’t ominous at all.” Yuta turns around to see who it is. Only to see Ieri Shoko, the woman who taught him how to properly control his reversed cursed technique. Yuta notes to himself that she looks tired. Her eye bags look even darker, her hair left in a messy bun. After everything that she’s been through he’s surprised that she’s not taking a well deserved break. She lights her cigarette and walks towards Yuta. “Knowing how your technique works I'm guessing that you're down here for a little power up before the cremation. Am I right Okkotsu?” Shoko asks bluntly.
“Ieri sensei I’m sorry I didn’t know anyone would be down here yet and I thought I’d be able to sneak in before it all starts.” Yuta exclaims in his usual panicked tone. Shoko simply ruffles his hair and walks past him. “Yuta I couldn't care less about that. At least these bodies will be put to some sort of use, you weirdo, By the way, are the stitches healing well?” Yuta flinches and lifts his hand up to his forehead brushing past some strands of hair as he feels the stitching across his head. Each bump reminds him of what he did and the overwhelming sensations of the six eyes warping his vision. He still hasn’t fully recovered from the after effects of using Kenjaku’s cursed technique. Mainly being trauma related night terrors and hallucinations regarding Kenjaku, Sukuna, and mostly Satoru Gojo.
“It’s getting somewhere…” Yuta says, somewhat muttering to himself. He looks up to see Shoko taking the shroud off of multiple dead bodies. The bodies are sliced and cut. Some having arms and legs detached and even one that’s decapitated. “This is all Maki’s handywork if you can’t tell.” Shoko states bluntly. “So tell Rika that she can have these bodies but the rest are sadly off limits.”
“Thank you so much Ieri sensei!” Yuta says bowing down to Shoko. Shoko watches as Rika semi manifests herself to eat the limbs of some Zenin clan members that Maki killed. She lights another cigarette while looking at Yuta feeding her like some evil dog.
“Okkotsu before you go” Shoko says while Yuta is leaving the morgue “You do have his memories…Right?” Yuta looks at her and understands what she’s trying to say. “Yeah I do Ieri sensei. All of Gojo sensei’s memories are all up here.” He says pointing towards the scar that he was left with after using Kenjaku’s technique. For the first time in what feels like an eternity Shoko smiles. “I’m glad that Satoru gets to live on in some shape or form then.” Shoko says with a warm tone in her voice
Meanwhile…
New York City: United Nations Headquarters.
Principal Gakuganji stands before the world's leaders as the current new face of the Jujutsu world. “Why are we even considering this? You saw how powerful that monster was? He leveled an entire city in mere moments! I say we just blow the whole country to kingdom come so no more hellspawn like that can come crawling out of the debts of hell!” A world leader shouts. Which causes uproar in the meeting room.
Gakuganji stands there watching as these so-called “Leaders” act like children. “Gentlemen If I may.” Gakuganji states in an assertive tone. The room quiets down to listen to the old man. “I brought two specific sorcerers with me to help my case on why instead of being against Jujutsu you should accept it instead. Now I would like to bring grade one sorcerer Atsuya Kusakabe to the stand please. The door behind Gakuganji opens as Kusakabe walks in.
“Good afternoon uhh… It’s a pleasure to meet you all.” The world leaders stare at Kusakabe. He coughs before he speaks again. “As a grade one sorcerer I specialise in something called the new shadow style. It is a technique formed in the heian era as a way to defend the weak against the strong. As a part of the new curriculum of Jujutsu I shall teach the next generation the new shadow style as a way to defend others from cursed spirits no matter how weak or strong you are. It is my goal to have students of the new shadow style deployed into other countries in order to exorcise cursed spirits with ease. I see this is a painless way to eliminate cursed threats and would be beneficial for all countries involved in this jujutsu treaty.”
The world leaders murmur amongst themselves about the benefits of the proposition that Kusakabe proposed.
Hours go by and the meeting has gone from chaos to calmness. As the world leaders and the jujutsu society come to an agreement with Kusakabe’s plan.
“Before the meeting ends gentlemen I would like to introduce one more sorcerer to the stand. Someone who I believe is one of the many faces of the modern jujutsu world and will be one of its leaders in the future, special grade sorcerer Yuji Itadori.” Once again the door behind Gakuganji opens as Yuji enters the room.
The energy in the room shifts as the world leaders gaze upon Yuji. The title of special grade led the world leaders to believe that a wrinkly old man much like the one in front of them would saunter in but not a fifteen year old who despite all the cuts and missing fingers has a warm smile on his face and is carrying a multitude of bags from different designer clothing brands in both arms. “Sorry about all of the bags, Gakuganji sensei I was carrying all of them for Kugisaki and I didn’t want them to be stolen so I brought them in with me.” Yuji says while setting the bags down to the floor. Gakuganji looks mortified at Yuji and Kusakabe facepalms as his new student.
“Good afternoon everyone! It’s a pleasure to meet you all!” Yuji says with a bright cheery tone in his voice. One of the world leaders smiles at Yuji. “It’s a pleasure to meet you too son, I believe you're the one who put a stop to that Ryomen Sukuna monster that terrorised Shibuya and Shinjuku. Am I correct?”
“You would be correct for that, yes” Yuji says. “I would like to add on to what Kusakabe sensei talked about earlier. I myself want to help stop any cursed spirits terrorising certain regions of the world. I understand how evil and scheming these creatures can be first hand… So please allow me to be one of the many jujutsu sorcerers that help the entire world for a better tomorrow.” Yuji says bowing to the world leaders.
Another world leader speaks up.”You’ve certainly impressed everyone in this room that's for certain kid. As a way to commemorate you for your victory over that Sukuna curse I reckon we name this treaty the ‘yuji treaty’.”
The world leaders unanimously agree with Kusukabe’s proposition for a treaty between the united nations and the jujutsu world with them naming it the Yuji Treaty.

November 12th 2018: Kamo clan headquarters.
The halls are silent. Blood colours the walls in a violent crimson as body parts are sprawled around the compound. A young man walks into the main hall to find the origin of this chaos. He sees the Kamo clan head on the floor of the hall. Another figure stands over him wearing a gojo-kesa.
“If you think you’ve won you don’t know the hell you’ve unleashed, Suguru Geto!” The clan leader cries out in agony. “Again with this Suguru Geto bullshit. It was funny at first but now it’s just getting old. C’mon oh great clan leader you seriously can’t recognise the man who you named your own son after?” Kenjaku says in a mocking tone. He puts his foot on the clan leader's head and presses down. His screams echoing around the hall. “So t-the rumours really are true h-huh Noritoshi Kamo! You think this is the end of my reign, well think again! I have something up my sleeves that hasn’t been seen in hundreds of years! Blood manipulation! Supernova-” Kenjaku crushes the clan leader's head as blood splatters all over the room.
“Booooring. My own son can use that and I could as well before I traded it for this body's cursed spirit manipulation technique.” Kenjaku says as if he’s addressing an audience while wiping blood off of his face. He suddenly turns to look at the entry way of the hall, looking at the young man. A menacing smile appears on Kenjaku’s face. “Why hello there! I’m terribly sorry for the mess I’ve made. I promise I was gonna clean it all up after I was done I swear. Come on in, I promise I won’t hurt you.” The young man cautiously walks towards Kenjaku, trying to avoid the viscera sprawled across the floor. Kenjaku turns his head to look at the man. “Tell me what your name is.” The young man looks up at Kenjaku, towering over him. His body is in complete shock and is glued in place, despite his mind telling him to run as fast as he possibly can. “Saibõ, Saibõ Kamo is my name sir.” The young man says with fear running deep in his voice.
“It’s a pleasure meeting you Saibõ. My name is Kenjaku although I’ve gone by many different names throughout the ages.” Kenjaku says with a smile on his face. The two stare at each other for what feels like an eternity, until Kenjaku turns to face an entryway into a garden. “Walk with me for a moment, Saibõ.” The two begin to walk around the garden, feeling the cold November air when Kenjaku begins to speak again. “Something is different about you. Your cursed energy feels different compared to the other members of the clan I met tonight.” Saibõ laughs at Kenjaku’s remark and begins to explain his own cursed technique. “You see sir I was made a servant for the higher ups of the clan due to me not possessing the clan's blood manipulation cursed technique. Instead I can control the cells within my body.” Kenjaku looks surprised at this revelation. “Cell manipulation… I had witnessed a few people bear this technique when I was in the clan during the Meiji era, the fact that it still lives on is outstanding. Although during the Meiji era your technique was praised with most users of it being higher ups in the clan. It is quite a shame to see how they treat it now.”
The two stop at the large tree in the middle of the garden. Kenjaku looks at Saibõ with a new plan forming in his mind. “Saibõ, I have a proposition for you. If my plan fails and if I perish due to a meddling force you shall take the reins as the 26th head of the Kamo clan. However you must directly follow my backup plan as a requirement for your leadership… So do we have a deal, Saibõ?”
Saibõ looks at Kenjaku with amazement in his eyes. Kenjaku is offering Saibõ everything he has ever dreamt of in life. “Yes of c-course lord Kenjaku without a doubt. D-Do you mind telling me what your plan is?” Kenjaku turns to Saibõ with his menacing grin forming once again. “You're a very curious man. I'll tell you that Saibõ, however I’ll tell you the plan in the upcoming days…”
January 10th 2019: Kamo clan headquarters
“Lord Saibõ!!! Lord Saibõ!!! Are you even paying attention? You need to explain to us what Lord Kenjaku's plans were.” One of Saibõ’s advisors practically screams into his ear. “I told you already Lord Kenjaku told me to only tell the rest of the clan when it is time to enact said plan.” Saibõ says with irritation in his voice. “As I said previously we have the aniu jujutsu corp on our side as well, due to their close relationship to the higher ups. Since Satoru Gojo murdered them all they have chosen to follow our commands. With people seeing us as the closest thing to the higher ups in jujutsu right now. I shall send someone out on a reconnaissance mission to gather info about the gojo clan in the oncoming days. Since the Zenin massacre and the death of Satoru Gojo the power vacuum that once existed has since gotten much bigger. It is our goal to capture the Gojo clan's assets by any means necessary and take control of their part in jujutsu society, driving them out and making us the complete rulers of modern day jujutsu!”
The room goes silent for a moment before it erupts into cheer and praise for Saibõ’s ruthless strategy. The pure passion and dedication in Saibõ’s voice seemingly made everyone forget about the fact that he hadn't actually told them said plan. Saibõ leaves the room walking down the halls of the Kamo clan compound. The halls that he once used to clean with his bare hands are now his to rule. He can’t help but feel grateful for this opportunity given to him by Kenjaku. He reaches the end of the hall and is face to face with a door. Knocking on it three times when suddenly he hears it open quickly.
A woman comes rushing out of the door in bed wear. Her porcelain skin looking radiant in the moonlight . “You're finally home.” She says in a hushed tone. She clings onto Saibõ for a brief moment before kissing his cheek. “I’ve missed you.” “I’ve missed you too, Hasu.” Saibõ says with a smile on his face. The two walk into the large room with various paintings and photos on the walls. Some being family heirlooms and most being photos from their wedding night. Hasu sits down on the bed as Saibõ closes the door over “Come lie down with me Saibõ you deserve a rest my love.” Hasu says looking up at her partner.
“I wish I could my love but I need to make some final preparations. I won’t be long I promise. I’ll join you shortly.” Saibõ says as he walks into a side room. He can hear his wife complaining from the bed as he laughs. Saibõ looks down at his desk and sees a tarot deck arranged in a particular order with notes sprawled all over with details for the plan. Just how he wanted it. He quickly put the deck into its box. Before muttering to himself. “I won’t let you down lord Kenjaku I promise.”

Thank you so much for reading! I thought I would introduce the main antagonist of our story to get it out of the way so you might not see him or the Kamo clan for the next few chapters.

Chapter Text
January 11th 2019: Kyoto, Gojo clan headquarters
Yuta never expected to get anything from a will reading ever in his life but yet here he is. The Gojo clan invited the students and staff of Tokyo Jujutsu High to attend the reading of the will for their teacher, Satoru Gojo. The place was eerily quiet. With the Clan compound being draped in banners with the signature sky blue colour of the six eyes. Some seats remain empty due to the first years and Kusakabe being in New York for peace discussions after the Culling games. Yuta’s daydreaming is cut short when Maki sits down next to him.
“To be honest I have no idea why I'm even here, like I think everyone knows that I wasn’t that fond of the guy and I’ve already had about a million looks of horror once they realised that I’m the heavenly restriction user that ‘Slaughtered the Zenin.’ Like they know damn well that they had it coming.” Maki laments while scanning the small conference room that they’re sitting in. “Well Maki-San he’s still your teacher and obviously he left something for you and don’t even mind whatever the Gojo clan people do, you're much better than them anyways” Yuta says while looking at Maki. Their eyes meeting as they begin to look at each other.
Maki stops for a moment to look into Yuta’s ocean blue eyes. She can see herself in the reflection. It takes her back to a moment in time before all of this, in that classroom. Yuta and Herself were only first years at the time. It was the first time she told anyone in the school what her true dreams were. It showed her that people can truly be compassionate. Hell, it made Maki think of Yuta differently. The boy who she once thought was a shy idiot who had a way too powerful curse attached to him was actually someone who showed compassion and genuine care for the people he held dear to him. It was the first time that Maki was held dear by anyone but Mai. Yuta is special to her and he’s the only bearable person to be around besides Kugisaki sometimes.
“Yeah yeah I know I’m amazing no need to tell me twice. Thanks for the words of encouragement beansprout.” Maki says, looking away from Yuta’s beady eyes. “I know I know but sometimes I feel that I have to tell you these things Maki-San. Please don’t let these people bother you, you are truly amazing Maki-San” Yuta says with pure admiration in his voice. Maki can feel her face begin to blush. “Shutup dumbass, the meeting is starting.” She says, turning away from Yuta.
The room falls silent as an elderly man walks towards a microphone. “ Good Morning. Thank you all for coming. My name is Kouki Gojo. I’m the current stand in head for the Gojo clan. Satoru has left various items in his will to his students and also to his fellow staff members and it is my honour to give these items to you.”
The room looked at Kouki as he began to read the will of the late sorcerer. “For Ieri Shoko a letter and my signature pair of sunglasses that I had during our high school days”. Shoko walked up to the stand and was given the box with said items, retreating to the back of the room to read the letter her late friend had given her. “For Mei Mei. A…. Bank card? Loaded with some of my finances.” Kouki says with some confusion in his voice. “Score.” Mei Mei says after gaining the card. The room watches as she leaves the room directly after. Kouki has some sort of bewilderment on his face. “Well anyway. For Kinji Hakari a letter and the Private Pure Love Train full series directors cut boxset.” Yuta watches as Hakari, who is sitting a few seats away from him practically leaps out of his seat. “Hell yeah! I’ve been looking for this for like a year but everywhere is sold out.”
Maki grimaces at Hakari’s joy as she turns to whisper into Yuta’s ear. “You know I really miss when that guy was suspended.” Yuta can’t help but chuckle at Maki’s comments “He’s not that bad Maki-San but yeah he is a handful.” Maki laughs at Yuta’s agreement with her statement as they begin to listen again to the will reading. Kirara is walking down to her seat as Kouki begins again.
“For Yuta Okkotsu. A usb drive that contains directions to your actual item.” Yuta stands up, confused but to grab the drive from Kouki. He turns to sit back down and out of the corner of his eye he sees him. The glowing blue eyes looking at him, judging him, the scar on his forehead a reminder of what he did. He truly was a monster for what he did to his teacher. Maki notices Yuta’s panic as he sits down. “Hey Yuta are you okay? You don’t look good at all. Need me to get Shoko or something?” Yuta looked at Maki and smiled. “Don’t worry Maki-San, I'm all good. Thanks for worrying. Before Maki can say anything else Kouki calls Maki up to the stand for her to gain her item.
Detailed is a letter to Maki from her late teacher and a cursed tool. The cursed tool was a naginata called Hyõga. The tool was used by Heian era sorcerer Uraume as they got older. With the tool itself being imbued with the sorcerer’s innate ‘Ice formation’ technique.
Upon hearing this Hakari shot up and pointed at Maki. “Hey! I’m the one who fought them! I should have that weapon!” As expected Maki shot back with even more ferocity in her voice. “Yeah well Gojo sensei didn’t give it to you did he? So go enjoy your dumb anime boxset loser.” Seeing the confrontation made Yuta and the rest of the students present laugh.
Later on in the night after the students and staff finally arrive back to Tokyo, Yuta finds himself in his dorm, staring at the usb key in his hands. He finally gets the courage to insert the usb key into his laptop. As he turns the laptop on, its screen illuminates his entire room pushing the shadows away. After the overly loud start up noise all that can be heard is the light raindrops hitting against his window. Yuta looks in the disc drive to see the key and its contents.
The Key itself is named ‘For Yuta =]’ Upon seeing this Yuta can’t help but laugh. He clicks on the drive looking at its contents. Included is multiple screenshots of various things but before Yuta can click on any of them he notices a mp4 file titled directions to your super cool gift. Yuta decides to click on the file first.
The video starts with Gojo’s office with his chair turned around. Yuta watches as the chair turns around to reveal his late teacher looking back at him. His award winning smile showing. “Hey Yuta! If you're watching this then, sadly I’m dead and hopefully you're alive. I mean I doubt Sukuna knows how to use a computer or anything.” Gojo says, laughing at his own joke. “Anyway I know you're wondering why you got a little usb key while everyone else got a letter. Well I’m here to tell you why.” Gojo pauses for a moment. Yuta notices a slight change in his Sensei’s eyes. “Yuta, your gift is a specific cursed tool that I really only feel like you should have. Back when I was your age I went on a mission to protect the then star plasma vessel. Now the whole mission went to shit in the end like really bad. It caused Suguru to defect and hell I died at one point.”
Yuta is left in pure confusion on that statement about this supposed ‘mission from hell’ that his teacher went on. Gojo resumes his rambling once more. “An assassin dubbed the ‘sorcerer killer’ was the one who did all that and by the way little fun fact that guy was Megumi’s dad! Can you believe that? Anyway the cursed tool he used to almost kill me is called the inverted spear of heaven. Its innate technique is some type of form of technique extinguishment meaning that the angel lady on our side is probably the creator of said weapon.”
Yuta’s eyes are glued to the screen of the laptop as Gojo rambles on further. “It’s physically impossible for me to destroy the weapon with my technique so I stored it in a Gojo clan compound/safehouse in a foreign country so Tenegn couldn’t sense it. So now I’m asking you to retrieve it for yourself. I think if another threat like Sukuna rises again you could use it to stop them. Now I know you're asking where this awesome weapon is and congrats Yuta you just won yourself an all inclusive trip to Italy! I gave the key to the place to Shoko so all you have to do is just text her the code which is literally just pizza.”
Yuta looked at the screen with pure disappointment in his eyes and as if his teacher could see him he responded. “Oh come on Yuta don’t give me that look it’s the first thing I thought of about Italy! Also you should be lucky that you don’t have to pay for flights because Rika can do that weird flying base thing. Also the place is huge so you can definitely bring someone with you.” Yuta watches as Gojo leans into the camera as he winks and whispers “Maki” Yuta stumbles back as he begins blushing and stuttering. He can hear Gojo laughing in the background when he hears knocking at his door.
Yuta pauses the video and walks to the door to reveal Maki waiting for him. Upon seeing her Yuta leaps back. “Woah dude calm down I just wanted to check and see what you got from Gojo sensei everyone is dying to know.” Yuta laughs sheepishly and walks back to the door frame. “Sorry about that Maki san you just caught me off guard that’s all. Gojo sensei left me a cursed tool that’s in a storehouse in Italy so I’m gonna probably go one of these days. He also said I could bring someone which is cool.” After hearing this explanation Maki smiles at Yuta and says, “That’s sick I always wanted to leave Japan. I’m going with you now by the way.” Yuta’s jaw hits the floor after hearing this. He begins to stutter but before he can say anything she walks away. Yuta can hear Maki say to the common room. “Hey guys, me and Yuta are going to Italy to pick up this cursed tool. Isn't that sick?”
Yuta can already hear the jokes Toge and Panda are making in his head before they've even begun.
