Chapter Text

[Kenma's POV]

'Ugh..', I turn off the alarm as I get up. I'm never going to get used to this. I keep my eyes closed for a while longer before I get out of bed to leave for morning practice. Kuro is gonna be over soon to walk together.

I get a small piece of toast after getting ready and take my switch as I head out the door, "I'm leaving" I call out to mom. I go over to where Kuro is standing, waiting for me. “Hey Ken, ready to go?” he asks while I just nod. We talk while we walk together, half of my attention on the game.

“OH! Speaking of your new game, did chibi-kun get past that one level he was stuck on?” Kuro asks. “Yeah, I helped him out yesterday. He just needed a few tricks.” I say looking up, finally turning off my switch, since school is just a few blocks ahead. “We played for a good 5 hours yesterday. We got like 6 new quests for the next part of the game..” I go on explaining the game while Kuro listens. This is our usual, I don’t even know if he’s paying much attention, but I’m happy he’s listening regardless.

After morning practice, our conversation dies off when we reach the lockers, the bell about to ring. “Goodluck at classes, Ken. Pay attention in maths this time.” Kuro teases me while walking off to his own class. I groan, ‘Right..I have maths today.’ I think to myself while walking to class.

–[Very short] Timeskip–

I start to doodle on my notebook since I can’t play games in class, completely tuning out the teacher. I looked down at my notebook to see what I drew absentmindedly….It looked like two cats and a crow. ‘Huh. Strange’ I thought, the crow had really messy hair all over the place, one of the cats had spiked hair and the last one looked like me. ‘Now that I look closer, the crow looks a little like Shoyo. And the other cat..it looks like Kuro. Hm-’ my thoughts get cut off by a light cough.

“Ahem.. If you’re done drawing random animals, could you answer the question now, Mister Kozume?” the teacher says, standing right in front of me. ‘How embarrassing ..’ I closed my notebook and looked towards the board, luckily I knew the answer. Class ended soon after so I made my way down to the gym for after school practice.

I greeted everyone with a nod as we started practice which got pretty chaotic, as per usual. After practice, I waited for Kuro to finish his last few sets with Lev and Yaku. We walked home together after, making small conversation, I paid little attention until, “You know how finals start next month? Man, these exams are gonna be tough to ace. I need to get an A+ for my college application though.” Kuro says. “College..” I stray off. ‘Right. Kuro’s going to college soon. That’s gonna change everything. I don’t like change.’ My train of thoughts gets interrupted by Kuro calling out my name. “Kenma? Are you alright? You just went silent.” Kuro asks worriedly. “I’m alright. Sorry about that. You better start studying for your exams then, Kuro.” I say, brushing off the previous thoughts. He still looks worried but moves the conversation along regardless. I didn’t sleep that night.

I turn off my phone before logging onto my computer to get the stream setup. I open discord and connect to a vc before opening twitch to set up the stream layout.

Starting Stream. . . .

The screen shows a blank space with Kenma and Hinata's cameras in the top right corner. Kenma decided to add Kuro's screen when he decides to turn on the camera. People start joining instantly, he doesn’t have a lot of viewers but that’s not a problem. If anything it helps him get used to talking in front of an audience. The screen is instantly filled with comments from people who watch his streams regularly, they love it when he plays with Shoyo or Kuro.

Kenma chuckled when he read the comments, quietly saying to the other commenters. “They really like it when you’re playing, Sho” I say to Shoyo who seems to be setting up his mic. “I’m glad!!! I like joining your streams from time to time!!’ Shoyo replies just as energetic as ever, I wonder where he gets all this energy from. “Oh yeah, Kuro is also here today, he’ll turn on his camera later on.” I direct my statement to the viewers who seem to be even more excited at that.

“How rude, eli chan!” Kuro responds suddenly, startling me “I won’t get scared this time you wait and see!” he continues before Shoyo starts laughing. “Sureeee Kuroo-san, we’ll see how long you’ll last on that!” “It’s on, chibi chan!” I sigh lightly at the two before setting up the game. “Join the link, you two, and Kuro stop saying things that are false, we both know that you’ll scream at least once tonight. I’m sure of it.” I say with a small smile “There you go again with wanting him to scream, Kenma, you need to stop giving me stuff for the jok-” Shoyo says before I interrupt him “STOP taking things in the wrong way Shoyo PLEASE” I hurriedly say, feeling embarrassed. Both Shoyo and Kuro start laughing at this along with the comments.

“GUYS stop this is so out of context oh my god,” I say before starting the game quickly. “Let's get started on the game already. Alright so, Kuro, Shoyo select your characters. I already got mine so I’ll just select the villains and jumpscares we get.” I inform them. “WAITWAIT KEN WHY IS THE DIFFICULTY ON HARD???” Kuro suddenly asks, making Shoyo laugh. “Because we completed medium difficulty last time when you were busy screaming like you lost a limb” I reply, trying to keep my voice as monotone as possible.

“Orange, you are now my favourite viewer on Ken’s streams,” Kuro says, laughing softly.
“You aren’t allowed to choose favourites, Kuro.” I say quietly while Shoyo laughed, “Kuro, don’t flip me off.”

[angeliclia]: WOAH???? ARE Y’ALL TOGETHER RN OR SOMETHING?
[rpgloverjay]: I think they are neighbours?? IDK I REMEMBER KODZU SAYING SMTH LIKE THAT ONCE

“Jay is right, we live next door to each other. His room is right next to mine too, we can see each other through our windows.” I say, sighing softly as Kuro snickers. “He only says that because I always tell him off for playing games all night on school nights.” Kuro replies, still snickering, Shoyo starts giggling at that time. “I can definitely see that happening.” Shoyo replies. I see Kuro pull on a shirt through my window as I quickly change the layout to fit his camera in the corner. “Anyways, did you two choose your characters yet?” I ask, my cheeks a little flushed from embarrassment.

Shoyo burst out laughing as he read out the comments, “Looks like Kuroo-san has fans,” he says teasingly, elongating the end of his sentence. I let out a chuckle as he said that, “Not surprising. He gets a lot of confessions from girls at school too.” Kuro makes a small embarrassed noise, “Can we just start the game this is kind of embarrassing” he says chuckling lightly.

This time I was the one who chuckled as Shoyo’s face turned red in embarrassment, “Looks like both of you have fans.” I said teasingly as I saw Shoyo turned even more red. “Shut up…” Shoyo replies quietly. “Alright let's actually start the stream now.” I respond quietly as I share the game screen, “Kuro, try not to scream as much today, it’s almost 2 am.” “KEN!” he yells in response as I chuckle. “Flirt later you guys, I don’t want to third wheel.” Shoyo responds and Kuro quickly replies before I can, “Does chibi-chan feel left out? Want me to flirt with you?” “Please don’t make him short-circuit, Kuro.” I respond as I sigh, “Anyways get ready, the loading screen is up.”

“AHHHHHH STOP HE’S AFTER ME AND I’M ON 20 HEALTH,” Kuro yells.

“KUROO SAN SHUT UP OH MY GOD, JUST HIDE SOMEWHERE ONCE YOU GET AWAY FROM HIM A LITTLE AND TELL US WHERE YOU ARE” Shoyo yells back.

“Both of you need to be quiet, Kuro, just tell us where you are.” I respond.

“KENNN I DON’T HAVE ANY MEDICAL KITS PLEASE HELP ME,” Kuro yells as I sigh in response.

“I have a lot of medical kits, I’ll trade some to you in return for energy drinks, Kuroo-san,” Shoyo responds.

“DEAL,” Kuro replies.

“He would cry,” I respond simply before going back to killing the villain chasing me in the game.

“I WOULD NOT, NEXT STREAM I’LL PLAY IT,” Kuro replies back proudly.

“OH PLEASE LET ME BE THERE WHEN HE PLAYS SISTER LOCATION” Shoyo yells back.

“Pff- Of course, Sho.” I reply, chuckling as Kuro yells in protest.

“Alright guys, it’s almost 4 am, I’m going to end the stream now because if Kuro yells anymore, we’re going to have to explain this to our entire neighbourhood. Also, I think Shoyo’s little sister woke up at one point so he has to leave as well. I’ll see you all next week.” I say to the camera quietly, smiling as I read the goodbye comments before ending the stream. “I’m tired. I’m going to sleep now. Talk to you two tomorrow.” I say to the other two as they say their bye’s and we all leave the voice call.

I stayed up a little later after the call, realising just how happy I was during the stream talking to both Shoyo and Kuro. I eventually fell asleep cuddling my pillow with a small smile.
