Chapter Text
It was a sunday, and also it was Yuji’s first day at Tokyo Metropolitan High School. He never even planned to come to Tokyo until his grandpa passed away, he didn't really have a reason to stay at Sendai anymore— plus considering the huge scholarship the school gave him due to his extraordinary achievements in sports that his teachers forced him to participate, it would be a huge waste to pass up this opportunity.
He knew it would take time for him to adapt to the school since he joined in the middle of the school year and most people came here for academic achievements, not physical.
Also, apparently people here didn't come with scholarships, at least not like Yuji’s situation.
Yeah, most people who came in weren't filthy rich, but Yuji only had his grandpa who was retired, he didn't have much to his name.
He was walking to find his locker to put away all the books the school gave to him when he felt a strong pat on his back, strong enough to knock out the air inside his lungs despite the fact that he was crazy strong.
He turned to see a ginger girl—he was guessing that she wasn't natural considering the fact that he could see her roots— grinning at him.
“You must be the new kid!” She said as she extended a hand for him to shake, “I’m Kugisaki Nobara, we are in the same class.”
He took her hand and shook it, “Itadori Yuji, nice to meet you too.”
He took a glance at her, noticing a black eyepatch on her eye, he decided to not comment on it yet.
He also noticed a boy in the back, basically glaring at them like he was about to kill someone, was he a possible bully? Was Nobara aware of him?
Yuji whispered to her, “Someone in the back…”
She cocked her head to the side before turning to look at what he was talking about. The moment she turned around her face fell into a scowl, “Megumi, I told you to stop scaring new people away!” She scolded as she smacked his arm which resulted in a few yelps, ‘Ow’s and a ‘Im telling Gojo-sensei!’ from him.
Nobara sighed and pulled back, “This is Fushiguro Megumi, he is also in our class. Try not to take it personal when he glares, he's just built like that.”
Megumi looked annoyed but didn't dare to say anything other than a small, “Hi, I guess.”
Yuji nodded awkwardly before getting ready to walk away, ‘forget the locker, this was getting weird.’
“I should check out my dorm, Gojo-sensei told me that he would meet me there too…”
“Oh?” Kugisaki blinked, “You met Gojo-sensei already?”
Yuji nodded once again, of course he met him. He was the one who arranged the whole thing for Yuji.
“Well, which dorm is yours?” She asked.
Yuji checked the forms he had once again, “Uh… Oh, room 2-1 is apparently mine.”
He watched in real time how Megumi’s face dropped and Nobara’s lit up.
“That's great!” She threw an arm around Megumi’s shoulders, he just grumbled, “This kind guy here is in room 2-2! He should show you around and help you!”
Megumi grumbled something along the lines of ‘Stupid Gojo…’
Damn, he mentioned Gojo-sensei at every chance given.
After many tries in persuasion Megumi reluctantly agreed to give a small tour of the dorm to Yuji, it wasn't like Nobara could enter the guys’ section anyways.
He looked Megumi up and down. He was a guy around the same height as him, he looked fairly well-built—of course not as much as Yuji, but it still seemed like he was a guy who worked out occasionally.
Also no offense at all but he looked nerdy. He had faint freckles on his cheeks with rectangle glasses over his eyes. Plus with the clothing type he had he looked like a stereotypical nerd— not that it was a bad thing of course! Just… he kind of looked like it, minus the scrawniness of course, he looked more like those hot nerds in animes.
What the fuck was he thinking about, get a hold of yourself Yuji.
After walking for a while more they stopped in front of a room with a simple metal plate that said “2-1”
Inside was pretty spacious, considering the fact that Yuji didn't bring much thinking his room would be tiny it would probably look empty.
Megumi eyed the lack of things he had but he decided to not comment on it.
“This is your room, rooms on this hall— rooms that start with 2, are male dormitories, the rooms on the other side of the building that start with 1 are female dormitories. We are not allowed to enter there. Rooms on the upstairs that start with 3 are teacher offices, we are also not allowed to enter unless we have permission or an emergency. There is also a common room where you can hang out behind the lobby. Any questions? I'm assuming not.”
“Actually I—”
“No.”
“Excuse me? You asked me—”
“You don't have any questions, ask Nobara if you really need to. I am not bothering with this more than I did.”
Before Yuji could even say anything Megumi already turned around to leave.
Yuji sighed, he should probably just accept the fact that some people are just mean.
He pulled up his luggage to the middle of the room, he didn't have that much to unpack. He just had some clothes and a few things that were important to him, he didn't bring that much stuff from his grandpa’s house yet.
While he was putting his a white haired and unnaturally tall figure entered into his room.
“Yuji-kun! I see you started moving in, though I thought Megumi would be helping you?”
Yuji sighed, “He left saying—and I quote, ‘he didn't want to bother with this.’”
“Ah… I see, don't take it personally though. He's like that with everyone, it's more weird when he actually seems happy.”
“Yeah I figured.”
Gojo nodded, “I came to tell you that the classes would be continuing tomorrow as usual. Yaga-sensei said that you can have a few extra days to settle in so you may not join classes, though both me and him strongly advise you to join the lessons if you can to avoid being left behind.”
Yuji nodded, “I see, I will try my best. Thank you Sensei.”
Gojo grinned, “Of course, no problem!” He turned away to leave before stopping. “Oh, I almost forgot!”
Yuji looked at him confused as he took out a small bag out of the bag that was obviously for sweets originally.
He handed the small bag to Yuji, “Think of this as a small welcome gift from me!”
Yuji looked in the bag before his eyes widened, it was a phone that looked like a new model, he shook his head, was this guy seriously counting a literal phone as a small welcome gift!? “I couldn't possibly take this, this is too much.”
“Nah, keep it. I bought it already, it would be a waste to return it.”
“But Sensei—”
“Ah! No buts~ Just keep it.”
Yuji paused before reluctantly agreeing even though he really didn't want to.
“If you need anything you can reach Megumi, he'll forward it to me, bye!”
And with that Gojo left and shut the door.
Did he really have to talk to Megumi if he needed something from Gojo-sensei? Ugh… Why?
He looked down at the phone he gave Yuji before sighing and setting it aside, not daring to open it yet.
He plopped down at his bed, he was pretty tired from the two hour train ride from Sendai.
After hours he groggily woke up, he looked at the time to see that it was around 6 a.m.
He got up from his bed, since he slept early he didn't feel like going back to sleep at all. Instead he decided to explore around the campus.
He decided to check out the common room Megumi talked about just to pause in front of the door, seeing that it wasn't empty.
Inside Megumi and Nobara were sitting together, they both had hairbands pushing their hair away as Nobara was applying some kind of a clay mask on Megumi’s scowling face as she was sitting on his lap..
Yuji never thought that Megumi was the type to do skincare at all, but when he thought about it, Megumi was objectively a pretty guy with smooth skin— not his own opinions of course, all factual, he had to maintain that skin somehow.
Nobara’s back was facing him so it was Megumi who realized that Yuji was standing there despite the fact that he didn't have his glasses on— because according to Yuji people who wore glasses became blind when they took them off.
“Why are you hiding there?” He asked which made Yuji jump a little.
Nobara also turned around, this time she had no eyepatch on her face which made him realize the fact that Nobara had a lazy eye.
She also had a face mask on her face as she was applying it on Megumi.
Why was Yuji hiding again? He honestly wasn't, he was just peeking in and he happened to be partially behind the door, “I wasn't hiding, just looking.”
Megumi's face scrunched up a bit more which earned him a slap on the shoulder by Nobara.
He sighed, “Why are you even awake?”
“I should ask the same thing to you! What are you two doing here with some weird goo on your face!?”
This time Nobara joined in “It's called skincare! Not that you'd know.”
This time it was Yuji who was scowling. He was offended because his skin wasn't so bad, “Whatever… You guys have fun with your weird goo on your face,” He said before he left
He thought to himself as he was walking, ‘Fushiguro and Kugisaki seemed pretty close ever since he met them, he wondered if they dated…’
He pushed the thought away because it was none of his business, and he left to go back to his dorm room.
Chapter 2
Summary:
Yuji attends his first class at his new school and gets assigned to a project.
Chapter Text
Yuji tossed and turned around on the bed but no luck, he couldn't sleep.
He sighed and decided to unpack his small essentials such as his hygiene products and school supplies.
He kept thinking of Megumi and Nobara, if they were this close, or maybe even potentially dating, he would probably be alone most of the year.
He tried to brush off the thought as he got up to go to the bathroom and have a quick shower, might as well get ready quickly. Who knows how much it would take to find his class?
He put on a sweatshirt and some pants befor quickly putting some pencils and a notebook in his bag, Gojo told him that he would take care of the school supplies but he didn't give him anything yet.
Lastly he glanced back at the phone box on his bedside, he still hadn’t set it up. He honestly doesn’t know if he would be able to with the small guilt on the back of his mind about Gojo casually giving such a huge thing to him.
He decided to leave it there after all.
It took him a while to find his classroom but in the end he managed to, when he went in Megumi and Nobara was inside already, again.
Nobara was hunched over a textbook while Megumi was scolding her about things he couldn't hear next to her, he assumed that Nobara was trying to solve questions but wasn't able to.
He could see that they were sitting on desks next to each other.
He sighed and settled at a few desks far enough so that it wouldn't look awkward but also far enough so that he wouldn't look like he was tying to forcefully join them.
Nobara noticed this and lightly kicked at the chair in front of her, “Hey, new kid. Sit here, you don't have to sit that far.”
Yuji looked at her caught off guard but didn't protest, he took his bag and walked over to the seat she showed her, he of course didn't miss the frown and the whisper Megumi gave to Nobara.
Just then Gojo arrived, just a few minutes before the bell rang causing Megumi to go back to sit at his desk, “Hello my lovely students! Oh, look at that, Yuji managed to come too. Thats even better!”
Gojo went through some stuff and looked up to them, “We apparently need to do a group project with two people according to Yaga-sensei.”
Yuji could feel Megumi and Nobara having a silent exchange between each other, he just wanted to sink into the ground at that moment.
“Yuji, Megumi. You two are a group. Nobara you're doing it alone.”
Nobara stammered something, “But Gojo-sensei—”
Gojo cut her off, “No, I said what I said. Don't worry, ypure doing half the work if that is what you're worried about.”
It was not what she was worried about, Gojo knew this too. Yuji felt guilty at the fact that he had to mess up the instant plan those two probably made about being together for the project.
“Sensei, I don't mind doing it alone. They can do it together.”
Gojo shook his head, “You are doing this with Megumi and Nobara is alone. This is final.”
Yuji heard Megumi let out a small groan, he mumbled a small ‘sorry’ even though they probably wouldn't hear it considering the fact that he couldn't dare to raise his voice more than a whisper.
Gojo clapped his hands together enthusiastically, “Now that the situation is agreed upon, the task is simple. Just make a small poster on a physicist we studied so far! Yuji and Megumi, you two are also going into detail about the work they did. Since I’m feeling generous you guys have until next week.”
The students nodded and Gojo went on with the class, it was honestly boring and Yuji felt like he was learning a whole different subject compared to what he was learning in his previous school.
The class eventually passed and the bell rang, “Yuji-kun, stay here. Megumi and Nobara, please leave for a few minutes,” Gojo called out as he was sitting on the corner of his desk.
Megumi and Nobara payed no attention and just left the room with no questions, but Yuji was worried that he did something wrong, Gojo apparently saw through him, again.
"Don’t worry Yuji, I just wanted to talk about your supplies.”
Yuji visibly relaxed before Gojo spoke again, “I also noticed you struggling, which is normal considering public schools most likely has a slightly different curriculum.”
Ah, so he noticed that too. Yuji realized Gojo somehow knew and sensed everything, I guess that was what was special about him.
“I was just going to point out the fact that despite him seeming that grumpy with you if you have trouble you can ask him to tutor you. Ill made sure he will accempt it, don't be shy to get help.”
Yuji nodded, “Okay, I will. Thank you sensei.”
Gojo smiled, “Of course, I need to help my students somehow, thats my job! Oh and also, your supplies should arrive at your dorm tonight or tomorrow, keep that in mind. See you tomorrow!”
Yuji nodded once again as he watched Gojo leave the room.
The day passed like usual. Nobara talked to him occasionally but other than that he didn't really have any new social updates until Megumi came up to him at the end of the day.
“The project, I can do it by myself.”
Yuji blinked a few times, “Excuse me?”
“I can do the project myself, I don't need your help. I’ll just put your name down too.”
Yuji furrowed his brows, “But its a group project, I don't think they would allow. Plus, that wouldn't be fair, I can’t make you do all the work.”
Megumi sighed in annoyance, “Just accept the offer, Im literally sparing you from doing work.”
“I don't want that though, I want to work with you. I know you don't seem to like me much so far but give me a chance to get myself known to you, properly.”
Megumi raised his brows in surprise, he was really adamant about working together huh?
He sighed once again, “Fine… Let’s meet at the library a few hours later, we will talk about it there.”
Yuji cocked his head to the side “Wait we have a library?”
Megumi cursed under his breath, “You know what? Just be ready in a few hours, I’ll take you from your room.”
Yuji grinned and nodded, “Aye aye captain!”
He let out a small ‘tsk’ before walking away, Yuji would normally think that it was because he was too energetic but he seemed to get along really well with Nobara.
Yuji brushed off the thought and just left behind him to his own dorm room.
Like Gojo said, his school supplies came tonight. He was putting his textbooks and workbooks away as he heard a knock on the door. He walked and opened the door to see Megumi.
He was wearing a simple black turtleneck with its sleeves rolled up and a blue knitted vest, Yuji couldn't lie about the fact that he looked really pretty like this— not that he wasn't before but still.
“Are you okay to go?”
Yuji nodded, he didn't change his clothes unlike Megumi, his clothes were clean after all. Why would he change?
Megumi led him out the dorms and after that out of the building. They went to a small building outside which was a library bigger than Yuji imagined, his school only had a room for a supposed “library” with school books.
The inside was cozy and filled with books— and not just school related.
He sat down at a table and Yuji followed, sitting down next to him, which resulted in Megumi scooting away a bit. Whoops.
“Do you have anything in mind?”
“Uhh… Cant we just do Einstein or something?”
Megumi shrugged, “A bit basic but works, hes one of the most important people in physics after all. We can simply make the poster about the relativity of time then. Easy.”
“Uh-huh…” Yuji said awkwardly, honestly, he doesn’t know physics at all. It might have been the subject he struggled the most to be honest, next to math of course. And biology, also chemistry and history too. Okay nevermind, he struggled with everything.
Megumi sighed, he knew that voice tone from Nobara all to well, “I’ll teach you about it, its honestly not that hard to understand.”
Yuji smiled, his eyes lighting up, “Wow, thanks Fushiguro! You are pretty reliable!”
Megumi’s eyes softened for a split second before they returned to normal before Yuji could even realize, he took out a notebook and set it on the table, “Whatever, listen carefully. I am not explaining it over and over again.”
Yuji nodded as he enthusiastically listened to Megumi teach him even though he still had a hard time understanding. He was starting to pick it up slowly but surely, plus he just made a small social progress too!
Gojo wasn't spying. Of course he had his son’s location on his phone, and of course he would secretly watch his son and a new kid’s relationship from afar. Just a usual father, nothing weird.
Obviously he saw that Nobara and Yuji were going well along with each other for people who met for a day, but Megumi was grumpy as always. He had to take matters into his own hands and assign them into a project together. Obviously there wasn't any project they needed to do, he could just give normal homework too. But this was better for his son to get along with new people!
But he didn't imagine him willingly tutor the new kid, he would have never thought about it.
Of course he wouldn't just straight up refuse an offer, Megumi wasn't a mean kid, but he didn't think he would willingly do it.
He chuckled to himself before leaving them alone to study by themselves.
Oh boy, his plan was goin a lot better than he thought.

Chapter Text
“Why are we even getting a new student in our class in the middle of the year?” Megumi grumbled.
It was a few days before Yuji had transferred, Gojo recently announced the fact that they would be having a new student. The way the man was so excited made Megumi cringe internally.
“Come on Megs, cheer up a little! Maybe the kid is cool,” Nobara replied. She didn't understand why he was so annoyed about a new kid coming to school.
He groaned, both at her reply and the nickname, “Why would he need to suddenly transfer if he isn’t troubled?”
She chuckled, “You're saying that as if you yourself weren't troubled in middle school. Try not to give him the death stare when you see the boy, m’kay?”
Megumi cursed Gojo internally for not saying why the new kid came for ‘personal reasons’. He really didn't want an annoying troubled kid bothering him or Nobara. He was so sure the kid had something off about the kid before even seeing him, he was judgemental like that.
Those few days passed in a blink of an eye, before he knew it Gojo was encouraging him to meet the new student and Nobara was dragging him around to find him.
After walking around almost the whole school, Nobara finally spotted a tuft of hair they had never seen before, which was weirdly bubblegum pink. Not really the troubled kid look Megumi was going for.
Nobara ran up to the boy and gave a farm pat on his shoulder which Megumi internally winced at because Nobara’s hand was strong.
The boy turned around to face them and Megumi froze, he could swear his heart stopped for a moment.
The guy was attractive— objectively of course, Megumi didn't find him hot or anything. It was all objective and not his opinion at all.
He was a muscular guy compared to Megumi— and considering that Megumi was lean, that was saying something. But despite looking all strong and bulky he looked shy and kind hearted at the same time. His smile seemed like it could light up a whole country—at least for Megumi but he would rather die than admit that.
Megumi felt dizzy, was he about to pass out?
Apparently he was glaring while having these… weird thoughts because he came back to his senses with a few hits on his arm by Nobara.
“Nobara— Ow! Stop that, I'm not a dog! I'll tell Gojo-sensei about this! Ow—”
“I told you not to scare off the new guy, didn't I?” She scolded as he could feel the boy’s gaze on him.
Nobara finally let go of him with a sigh and introduced, “This is Fushiguro Megumi, he is also in our class. Try not to take it personal when he glares, he's just built like that.”
Megumi grumbled because he could swear he wasn't glaring, at least not trying to, he decided not to comment on it though, “Hi, I guess…”
He decided to inspect the guy further, he wondered what kind of stuff he liked to do in his free time and— wait, why was he even thinking about this randomly? Ugh, stupid bubblegum hair messing with his mind…
He came back to reality once again when Nobara swung an arm around him, “Great! You are room 2-1? This sulky guy here is 2-2! He can show you around.”
Megumi's face faltered into a frown before he groaned, ‘Stupid Gojo… Putting the new and handsome guy next to his room…”
The more he was around Yuji— he learned his name afterwards from Nobara since he zoned out before, the more messy his mind became.
He was now leading him into his dorm as he was thinking what kind of stuff he was into, did he bring trinkets, does he prefer sweets or salty? Why the hell was he wondering about these!?
After they reached Yuji’s dorm he basically shoved him in and left, not caring if he was rude or not.
He could feel heat creeping into his face but he just shook his head, trying to get rid of this weird feeling he is experiencing and walking away.
Just as he was passing by the dorm hall he had a moment of eye contact with Gojo which earned him a raised brow, Megumi just ignored Gojo’s curious look and kept walking away.
He hated to admit it, but he could feel a flutter in his chest every time he was thinking about Yuji.
It was just around 5 a.m. when Megumi woke up to a call from Nobara to come to the common room. He got up groggily, thinking it was actually important. He couldn't even wake up enough to remember putting on his glasses.
When he arrived at the dorm he froze seeing Nobara with a huge grin, holding multiple skincare products such as a clay mask, a bottle of moisturiser, and sunscreen, which he recognized as the ones she made him buy just a day ago.
He groaned, “What could you possibly want…”
“Well…” She began, “You bought me all this expensive stuff, might as well use it together so it's fair.”
Megumi grumbled, it wasn't even that expensive—for him at least. He just bought them because Nobara was eyeing and obviously wanting them, and now he was forced to join her at this hour of the day? Bullshit.
“No.”
“Too late!” She said as she dragged him to the couch and forced him to sit, “Plus we can chat too!” She said as she pushed his hair away with a headband.
Megumi sighed but decided to not do anything, if it made Nobara feel better about making him spend money, why the hell not.
She took a glop of the clay mask and swiped it across his cheek, the coldness made Megumi shiver as Nobara kept applying the mask, “What do you think about Itadori? Was he like you feared?” She chuckled.
“No… He seems nice, I like him so far.”
“Then why did you glare extra at him?” She asked.
He rolled his eyes, “I just zoned out.”
She hummed questioningly, “About? Ugh… My back hurts while standing like this, gimme a second,” she mumbled as she positioned herself on his lap.
“I just… zoned out about what he might be like.”
“Aw…” Nobara cooed, “Mr. Grumpy likes the new kid.”
She passed his the container to him after she was done evening it out
on his face for him to do the same.
“Shut up, I just liked him so far, nothing special…”
Nobara furrowed her brows, “I meant it like that anyway? Why are you getting so defensive all of a sudden?”
Oh shit, he was fucked.
“Uh…” He froze as Nobara’s eyes suddenly widened as she let out a loud gasp.
“YOU'RE GAY?”
“NO! I mean— maybe? I just met him for God’s sake! Chill.
“YOU'RE GAY,” she repeated.
“KEEP YOUR VOICE DOWN.”
They kept bantering for a while about the topic until Megumi finally managed to keep Nobara’s voice down.
Gojo was an immature man. He got bored easily so he messed with people a lot, typically his students or Nanami but he was away on a vacation to Malaysia this week.
He was boredly walking around when he heard Megumi rush out of his dorm, the curious man he is because he knew Megumi never woke up this early unless he had a reason to, so he decided to follow his son— Megumi would kill him if he said that to his face.
When he saw him with Nobara at the common room he hummed, ‘I guess it wasn't something unusual’ he thought to himself as he was about to walk away.
He paused when he heard the words ‘Gay,’ ‘Itadori,’ and ‘To like’ which honestly sounded so funny when you said it like that, but it was the truth.
Gojo’s eyes widened in realization, he saw Megumi’s expression while walking to Yuji’s room, he saw how he reacted when he was mentioned and how his tone of voice would change, even if it was barely any different.
Gojo smiled mischievously to himself as he walked away. Oh he definitely had to intervene, why? Because he was Gojo and he loved when his students had drama.
This was gonna be fun— at least for him.
Chapter 4
Summary:
Yuji gets sick, thats it.
Notes:
this is an early chapter as an apology for the previous chapter being so late, i will hopefully be able to post another chapter on monday (no promises sorry😔)
(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)
Chapter Text
A few days had passed after Gojo gave them the project, and Yuji had done absolutely nothing— actually, scratch that. He couldn't do anything, no matter how much he researched that relative time thingy, or whatever Megumi had said, he wouldn't understand anything. He was grateful that Megumi just went along with Einstein and not some niche scientist— because Yuji honestly didn't know anyone besides him.
Megumi obviously noticed this and made him do the poster design and printing it, unfortunately for him their printers at school could not print A3 paper and they needed it in A3.
And honestly, Yuji forgot to do that too.
It was now the day before the due date and he was under the rain trying to not get the poster wet or let Megumi notice that he left this until the last day.
At least Megumi and he had the chance to get to know each other a bit more, so he wouldn't get that angry, right? …Right?
On second thought, maybe he would, but he thinks that he’s just at his dorm chilling. He doesn't have to know!
He quickly sneaked from the front of Megumi’s dorm to his own and quickly checked the poster if it was damaged, thank god it wasn't .
He sneezed and sniffed, which probably wasn't a good sign but whatever.
He changed out of his wet clothes and went out to the hall to knock on Megumi’s dorm.
When he opened the door Yuji froze because holy shit.
Megumi— presumably, just got out of the shower, his hair was wet and he was wearing a simple gray T-shirt, a towel draped over his shoulders as water dripped onto it from his hair.
This isn’t supposed to be an attractive sight, but here he is, drooling over some wet haired porcupine. He could swear he was shivering a few seconds ago but now it was suddenly so hot that he could melt.
He was probably staring so much that Megumi called out, “Do you… need something or not?”
Yuji’s grip tightened on the poster, “Oh! Yeah… Sorry, I zoned out. Uh…” He held out the poster, “Here I forgot to give this to you… a few days ago! Exactly. Not that I got it today.”
Megumi raised a brow but didn't comment on it, “Okay? Thanks.”
“Yeah… No problem! Just doing my part of the project, also, dry your hair! It's cold, you know? You'll get sick…” He added awkwardly, oh he was such an obvious idiot.
Megumi nodded, “I will, I guess…?”
Yuji nodded back and quickly waved a hand and rushed away to his own dorm, nearly tripping over his own feet.
‘Weirdo…’ Megumi muttered to himself as he closed the door, but he couldn't deny the small blush creeping into his cheeks, how did he fall in love with this idiot again?
That night Yuji couldn't sleep. Not for any weird reason or anything, he felt too cold to sleep. He felt like he was sweating but also he was shivering, no matter how much he covered himself with a blanket, no matter how thick clothes he wore, he was just too cold.
He groaned, it was probably the rain that got him sick. How unfortunate.
There was a knock on his door, “Itadori?”
He got up, all his body was aching, “Fushiguro…? What is it?”
“Gojo-sensei told me to check up on you for whatever,” Yuji could hear impatient footsteps from the other side, “Can you open the door?”
Yuji let himself fall back on his bed, he covered his eyes with his arm, “It's unlocked,” He muttered.
He heard the door creak and light spill out into the room. He could hear quiet footsteps into the room, “Itadori, is everything fine?”
He shook his head, “I think I’m sick…”
Megumi hummed and walked next to him, putting a hand on his forehead gently, “You do feel feverish… Try to sleep, I will get you some medicine, okay?”
Yuji nodded, for a split second his shivering felt like it was gone when Megumi touched him, only to be back instantly, he was glad that he already had a fever though, he could hide his blush.
Megumi walked out the door, while waiting Yuji’s eyes drooped, drooped… Until he was asleep.
Megumi visited Shoko, who gave her some simple medicine to drop his fever down, he also stopped by the dorm kitchen to grab some snacks and water for him.
When he came back, Yuji was fast asleep. He really didn't want to wake him up but he needed medicine before he could get worse.
Megumi gently shook his shoulder, “Itadori… Itadori?” He whispered, not to scare him awake.
When he was half awake Megumi sighed and muttered ‘Finally…’
“I got you medicine,” He said as he popped out a pill and helped him sit up, “Here you go.”
Megumi encouraged Yuji to swallow the pill and drink the water, he was pretty sure sweating would make him lose a lot of water in his body.
After making sure he actually swallowed it he sat on the floor next to his bed, just staring at Yuji.
His cheeks were flushed, his hair was sticking to his forehead, it honestly looked like a pathetic sight but Megumi couldn't help but feel a small softness in his heart.
He gently reached out and grazed his fingers on the back of Yuji’s hand before interlocking them. He gently leaned in and pressed a small kiss on top of his hand and sighed.
He stayed like that for a moment before pulling back abruptly because what the fuck was that!?
He just stood up and rushed out the room— while still making sure it was quiet enough to not wake Yuji up, his cheeks red as a freshly bloomed rose.
Yuji woke up feeling a lot better, but the heat was still there. Not because of the fever, but because of the dream he had—or the feeling in the dream?
Now, Yuji never had feelings for men before, he liked women! He never questioned his preference before and he didn't need to throughout his life, but Megumi was making this hell a lot more difficult.
In his dream he felt Megumi kiss his hand, a pretty small but intimate gesture. It made it so hard to think straight because was he having a crush on a boy!?
Not that Yuji was homophobic or anything, he had gay friends before! But he never thought he would be gay himself.
He didn't know what to do either, he couldn't tell Megumi about his possible crush on him. The guy looked straighter than a ruler!
“And then I kissed his hand!? What the hell is wrong with me!” Megumi shrieked— which was really uncharacteristic of him, as he let Nobara try out his new nail polish on him.
Nobara shook her head, “Girl, you are down bad,” she replied as she hummed, approving how the nail polish’s color looked, “That really suits you.”
“You think so?” He asked as he looked down on his nails, the color was bubblegum pink, like Yuji’s hair— No! Stop thinking about that, he's probably straight anyway!
Megumi buried his head in his hands and groaned, what was he supposed to even do now, crushing on an obviously straight, buff, muscular, unnaturally attractive, kind guy… No! Shut up inner thoughts.
He was doomed.
