Summary
Donna Williams had a seemingly perfect life. A perfect family, perfect friends (well, more so acquaintances, but still), and slightly less-than-perfect grades. Listen, while her life wasn’t exactly perfect, she was doing better than half of the population of Hawkins High, which had to count for something.
Her seemingly perfect life is quickly shattered when on the night of October 31, 1984, she drunkenly overhears Nancy Wheeler confessing to Steve Harrington that they had killed Barbara Holland. The same Barbara Holland that had gone missing the year prior, leaving a very select few individuals devastated.
So, she does what any other sane individual would do. No, not report what she’d heard to the police. Instead, armed with mace and a dream, she ambushes Steve Harrington on the front lawn of the Wheeler’s residence, insistent on getting to the bottom of whatever the fuck was happening in Hawkins, Indiana.
