Chapter Text

Sun bounced up and down excitedly on the small wall standing in front of the ball pit. He was waiting, patiently so, for his brother, his Moon, to get back to the Daycare. He was bringing a child back with him since the child’s mother worked the night shift at the Pizza Plex.

Sun was excited to see her again; his little Flame Star, his Solar, little Aziza. A bright young girl who absolutely adores the nighttime, the Moon, and the Stars. And he and Moon absolutely adored her as well!

Sure, she spent more time with Moon, but that didn’t mean Sun didn’t have any time to spend with her. Especially during Playtime when the Daycare was open, then he’d get to spend time with her.

Sun jumped off the castle wall and clapped his hands together in excitement, thinking of all the games they could play together. If Aziza wasn’t at all tired of course.

Seems Sun’s time to think had to come to an end as his rays slightly twitched to the sound of the Daycare doors opening. He looks over to find a fully energetic girl waving at him, and Moon carrying said girl in his arms.

Sun runs over to them, which causes Moon to stop in front of the door as it closes behind him. And for Aziza to stop waving.

“Hello Aziza, Moony!” Sun exclaims as Moon lets Aziza down so she can run off some energy. “Have fun little Solar!” Sun watches as Aziza waves at him again before running into one of the play structures, then looks back at Moon.

“When do you think she’ll pass out?” Moon asks, crossing his arms and smiling at Sun, who puts his long index finger on his cheek, resting his head on it as his rays spin around his head in thought.

“Good question,” Sun says, his rays stopping with a click as his arm falls to his side. “But whenever she does, we’ll be ready for her.”

“And pray she doesn’t fall out of the play structure when she does,” Moon teases, resting his cheek on the back of his hand, and his left elbow on his right arm. Sun crosses his arms and sticks his tongue out at Moon.

Soon, Sun turns around the sound of pitter pattering feet rushing toward him and Moon.

“Can I go to bed now?” Aziza asks, holding onto Sun’s leg and staring up at him with puppy-dog eyes like he was the one deciding her fate here on whether or not she should go to bed or not.

“Of course you can, Star Bud,” Moon responds, gaining the response of Aziza running up to him and grabbing onto his starry pants, jumping up and down excitedly, watching as Moon picks her up. “You wanna say night-night to Mr. Sunrise?”

Aziza turns to Sun and stares at him for a few seconds, blankly, just like her mother, before smiling and waving at Sun enthusiastically.

“Good night Sunrise!” Aziza exclaims as Moon begins walking over toward the balcony, the wire from the ceiling coming down.

Moon catches the wire and hooks it onto his back, the wire beginning to retract back to the ceiling and bringing Moon and Aziza up with it. Slowly, yes, but that was because it was the speed Moon had set it to.

Sun smiles at them, thinking about checking if Aziza had made a mess in the play structure before noticing Aziza still staring at him. She was pointing at him, then she pointed at herself, then swiftly pointed to the balcony without Moon noticing as he steps onto said balcony.

The wire unhooks itself off Moon’s back and retracts fully into the ceiling. Moon walks into his and Sun’s area in the castle tower balcony, watching as Aziza smiles at him before the curtains fall in front of them and block Sun’s view from them.

Sun thinks he understands.

Aziza pointed at him, then at herself, then at the balcony. That must’ve meant she wants him to come up. But for what reason? Sun didn’t know. But, he’d find out when he went up there. After Moon left, of course. Moon doesn’t like it when Sun is up there while Aziza’s trying to sleep.

A few minutes passed by, and Moon finally came down from the balcony, and walked over to Sun, who had his hands on hip and looked ready for an explanation as to why Moon had tooken so long to put Aziza to bed.

“She was still energetic, and refused to take a nap time candy,” Moon says, crossing his arms and looking back up at the balcony. “I may or may not have bribed her so she would take one and go to sleep.”

“Moondrop,” Sun says, his rays spinning once at the back of his faceplate in annoyance.

“I don’t apologize,” Moon says, putting his hands up in the air like he admitted defeat. Though his words said otherwise. “Now if you don’t mind, I have to help Mrs. Mullins and Officer Vanessa with their patrols.”

Moon walks out of the Daycare with Sun yelling at him ‘goodbye’ as he closed the large, fake wooden doors. A smile spread across his face at that moment because this was his chance to see what Aziza wanted from him without Moon getting angry at him, or yelling at him, or scolding him.

Yeah, that wouldn’t happen this time.

Sun ran over to the small, castle walls as the wire begins descending to his location. Once it reached him, he instantly grabbed it and hooked it onto his back.

The wire slowly retracted up toward the ceiling, and bringing Sun up with it to the balcony. During this, Sun had time to think about what Aziza could have wanted from him.

“Maybe she wants a puppet show? She did always help with them, and was very excited when she got the chance to watch them,” Sun says his thought out loud as he steps onto the castle tower balcony, the wire unhooking off of him as he begins walking toward the tunnel to his and Moon’s room. And where Aziza would be waiting for him.

“Or she wants to play games?” Sun walks over to the tunnel before squatting down in front of it, tilting his head to the side as his rays slowly begin spinning. “Maybe the arcade machine Moon has in there. She’s been obsessing over it for quite a while now.”

Sun sighs as his rays stop spinning with a click. He smiles and begins crawling through the tunnel, sliding out of it and onto the soft floor in the bedroom. He stood up and looked over at the bed to find Aziza lying in it. Tucked in nice and warmly.

Sun was confused. Not on why she seemed to be sleeping, but why his sensors couldn’t seem to detect that anyone was in the- click!

Sun groans and falls onto the bed, catching himself with his arms as a message popped up on his HUD.

WARNING: VIRUS DETECTED. VIRUS IMPLANTED. WOULD YOU LIKE TO ACTIVATE YOUR FIREWALL?

“Yes,” Sun says weakly, and quietly, as he looks around the room frantically. Though, he couldn’t find anything, or anyone, but his body had begun pulling him over to the arcade machine: ‘Balloon World’.

The screen was turned off, pitch black, and it reflected his face off of it. Though, it looked wrong. Yes, it was still a solar-model staring back at him, but the extra pair of rays that Mr. Mullins had added to him were out, even though Sun knew he didn’t activate them.

Other than that, they looked exactly the same. Minus the eyes looking like Moon’s, except glowing white instead of red. Hell, most of the clothing on his reflection seemed to be glowing. Weird, Sun didn’t activate the glowing effect that was added to him and Moon recently. So why was his reflection-

VIRUS GONE. THE VIRUS HAS DISAPPEARED, MOST LIKELY DUE TO THE FIREWALL. POWER OFF JUST IN CASE?

Sun blinks a couple of times, and his reflection looked normal again, like him. He sighs in relief before looking over at Aziza. He smiles and slides down onto the floor, his back resting against the arcade cabinet.

“Power off.”

SUNRISE.EXE POWERING OFF.

Hm. How comforting. His optics shimmer down before turning off, and his systems shut off. His body sitting on the soft floor of his and his brother’s room. With his little Flame Star. Sun prays in his head that Aziza won’t get startled if she wakes up before him and sees him.

A comforting thought.

Huh. Why does it feel softer all of a sudden? Why did his body fall flat on the floor? Wasn’t he resting against the arcade cabinet?

Sun opens his eyes and sits up, looking around to find himself in what his brother called “The Mindscape”. A blank void filled with nothing but soft, cotton candy clouds and a singular cube somewhere in the middle of it to bring you back to the outside world.

Sun stares at this new space in wonder. Moon had apparently been in this place for a long time when they shared a body, and Sun had never got the chance to see it until now. Though it was a little boring looking. Besides the clouds randomly changing color, there was nothing to look at, or entertain yourself with.

Sun stands up and begins walking around the Mindscape in curiosity, trying to find if he could find the cube that takes him to the outside. Yeah, that’d help right now. He doesn’t know how time passes in the Mindscape, and he didn’t want to find out. And get scolded again.

Geez, hope and pray Moon won’t find out he decided to go up to their room while Aziza was sleeping in their bed.

Sun stops for a second, seeing the cube in the distant. Which was good, yes, but the reason he stopped was because of something else he saw. A solar modeled animatronic that looked exactly like him. Other than the inner rays poking out, and his clothes glowing. Like his fake reflection.

Sun blinks a couple times as his rays twitch nervously. He walks up to the animatronic and places his hand on his shoulder, causing his reflection to flinch slightly and turn over at him. The solar model’s eyes staring at him fearfully. His eyes like Moon, but with a white glow instead of a red one.

“Hello, weird reflection,” Sun says, taking his hand off the animatronic’s shoulder, watching as his reflection’s shoulders calmed down, and his eyes softened.

Seems the reflection wasn’t one for talk as it stared at Sun for a little while longer, looking him up and down before making eye contact again and crossing his arms.

“Uh,” Sun stutters, his rays slowly spinning around at the awkward silence. “My name is Sun! What’s yours? And how’d you get here?” Sun places his finger on his cheek, his rays stopping with a click sound as he placed his hand on his hip. “Are you the virus that got implanted into me?”

“Virus is a rude term,” the solar model said, looking away from Sun in annoyance. Sun squeaks quietly, before smiling sheepishly.

“Oh! I apologize!” Sun exclaims apologetically, attempting to scan the reflection in front of him, but found he wasn’t able to. “What do you want me to call you then? What are you?”

“Eclipse,” he introduced himself, bringing his right hand to his face and rubbing his index finger and thumb together before turning his head to Sun and staring at him. “I’m not a virus, I am a code.”

“What kind of code?” Sun asks curiously. Maybe he could be a new brother of sorts? Yeah, that’d be fun! He had already been separated from Moon for about… three weeks? Yeah, that sounded about right. Maybe Moon would like a new brother as well. Oh! Maybe Moon could-

“I’m a leftover piece of Moon’s Killcode.” Sun startles out of his thoughts at the words spoken from his reflection. From Eclipse.

“O-Oh! Okay,” Sun stutters again, taking a step back away from Eclipse, but immediately stepping forward again when he remembered that Eclipse was standing in front of his exit.

“Apologies, are you scared?” Eclipse asked in amusement, putting his hand in front of his mouth and silently laughing to himself. He calms himself down and closes his eyes letting his arms fall to his sides as his eyes open, and he stares at Sun with a serious expression. “You should be.”

Sun’s brow raises as his attention shoots down at the exit orb, watching as Eclipse’s hand reaches for it. Sun’s hands clench into fists as he grits his teeth, running up to Eclipse and pulling him away from the exit orb, accidentally throwing him onto the ground.

“Ah,” Eclipse says as Sun presses his hand onto the exit orb, and he gets teleported out of the Mindscape. “You’re no fun.” Eclipse stands up and dusts himself off, even though his clothes collected no dust. “This prologue will take so much longer now. Actually, this gives me a chance to take a look at what the future Acts will be about.”

Soon, a list appears in front of Eclipse. A list of Acts, set through Prologue, to Act Five. Only five acts? That’s all Eclipse had to work with? At least he’d get a brief summary of them before he actually had to play them out.

Notes:

What a charming introduction!! And a new character right off the bat? Well, this play is just full of surprises.

Chapter 2: Setting the Stage

Summary:

Another new character!! Characters- plural. And the aftermath of that little… mindscape situation. No further explanation, good luck theorists!

SUNRISE.EXE POWERING ON.

Sun’s optics blink on as he gasps for air he didn’t need. He looks around to find himself still in his and Moon’s room, still sitting against the arcade where he had powered off.

Sun blinks a couple of times before hearing someone click their tongue above him. So, drawn to noise, he looks up to find his brother staring down at him in what looked to be disappointment.

“Sunrise,” Moon said in a blank, hollow tone that he learned he could do from Mr. Mullins. He looks over at Aziza before sighing and placing his hand on his hip. “What are you doing in here?” Sun smiles sheepishly before beginning to come up with an excuse before being brought right back out of his thoughts. “You’re lucky Aziza’s still asleep. You wouldn’t have heard the end of it if she was awake.”

“I know, I know,” Sun says, standing up and nervously looking away from Moon. He was waiting for it. Well, waiting for Moon to either drag him out by the rays, or teleport him out while holding onto his rays. Then begin scolding him. It was a cycle Sun hated.

But, that didn’t come, and all Sun felt was a hand softly being placed onto his shoulder. Sun looks up at his brother to find his expression gentle as he teleported himself and Sun to the play area of the Daycare.

“Sun, why were you up there?” Moon asks in a stern tone, his expression then turning serious as his grip on Sun’s shoulder tightened.

“Look, I was just-“ Sun gets cut off from his thought as the large, Daycare doors opened, revealing a tired, adult male with a little boy sitting on his back. Mr. Mullins. Aziza and Zero’s father, and Mary’s husband.

“Hello Mr. Mullins, what brings you and Zero here?” Moon asks, his grip on Sun’s shoulder softening before he eventually lets go and puts his hand on his hip instead.

“Hi, I’m so sorry to bother you two,” Anthony pants, grabbing Zero and taking him off his back, placing him on the floor. “But could you two kindly watch Zero? You should know Mary is doing her patrol, and I have to stay overtime. I’m working on a new animatronic, and I need the materials they have here at Fazbear.”

“Of course Creator!” Sun exclaims, clapping his hands together and beaming a smile down at his tired creator who smiles back at him with a quiet giggle. “When should Moon go down and drop him and Aziza off?”

“Around 1:00am should be good, thank you, Sunrise. Moondrop,” Anthony replies, turning around and preparing to close the doors behind him. However, Sun pushes onto the door to keep it open, gaining a confused look from his creator.

“Question,” Sun says, peaking Anthony’s interest as he turns around to face his solar themed creation. “What type of animatronic? A new helper, or maybe a staff bot? We have plenty of those though.”

Anthony laughs at Sun’s guesses, gaining a twitch from Sun’s rays before they begin slowly spinning in curiosity.

“No, a Theatre Bot,” Anthony says, pointing over to the theatre, causing Sun to look up at it before looking back down at Anthony. “I get that the staff bots are the performers, but I feel like an actual bot that’s Meant to perform should do it, ya’ know?” Sun nods in agreement at his creators idea, his rays keeping still and balanced on his head.

A Theatre Bot, eh? Performances. Acts? Plays? Ooh, Sun liked the sound of that! No, not really. The only type of shows that peaks his interest are the puppet shows him and Aziza plan out. He never liked watching literal plays, or even performing them. Wonder why he got excited about this new ‘Theatre Bot’.

“You excited or something?” Anthony asks, crossing his arms before looking Sun up and down, then looking back up at him. “Your inner rays popped out.”

Sun blinks a couple of times as his creator closes the Daycare doors on him, leaving Sun in a confused state. He looks back into the Daycare to find Moon sitting on the castle walls and watching Zero play in the ball pit.

Sun smiles at it, and his rays start spinning again. He could also feel the spin of the extra pair of rays going counter-clockwise instead of clockwise with his outer rays.

Sun walks over to Moon and puts his hands on his shoulders, making Moon’s shoulders tense, which Sun was not exactly expecting from him, but Moon would most likely calm down soon.

“So, still mad at me?” Sun quietly asks as Zero sinks into the ball pit, then comes out with a giant rawr and throwing many of the ball pit balls all over the place.

Yeah, Sun would need some pretty darn good luck to find all of those. Hell, it looked like some went into the play structures.

“Yes. Very,” Moon answered in a stern voice that didn’t echo the gentle expression he was wearing on his face. “You still didn’t explain why you were up there.”

“How’d you know I was up there anyway?”

“The arcade machine up there is also the Daycare’s security system, and my computer.”

Oh. That explains it.

Sun just sighs before taking his hands off Moon’s shoulders, and watching as they settled down in comfort. Sun didn’t really care though as his inner rays hid themselves behind his faceplate again, readying themselves to be activated again. Even though Sun never activated them.

Hang on, what?!

Wrong. Wrong. It was all wrong. Where was it, where was the chip he was looking for?! He was gonna plug the programming from the chip into the new Theatre Bot, but he can’t find it anywhere. Where was it?!

Anthony frantically searched around Parts & Service, checking every corner and high shelf, neglecting the lunar modeled animatronic sitting in the protective cylinder, patiently waiting for their creator to come back to it.

Though Anthony couldn’t worry about that since the Theatre Bots programming was missing, gone! He would have to start again from scratch. Might as well send a message to Sun and Moon to keep Zero and Aziza for an extra hour since he would be here for a while.

Geez, how did this even-

WARNING: WARNING: LUNAR ECLIPSE.EXE HAS BROKEN OUT OF THE PROTECTIVE CYLINDER.

. . .Great. Just flipping dandy.

Anthony turns over to the protective cylinder as the alarms from the computer begin blaring, and the intercoms turn on.

“We have a mimic AI’d animatronic loose in the Pizza Plex. If you find it, return it to Parts and Service,” Vanessa’s voice rings from the speakers before they turn off.

Anthony runs over to the computer and turns the alarm off, looking through the glass panes that made up the cylinder and finding the red, lunar themed animatronic to be gone.

There goes the rest of his hard work. What a horrible day he was having. Maybe Mary would find the Theatre Bot somewhere, who knows? He did add that its respective place was the Superstar Theatre before it fled, so maybe it ran there?

Thankfully, Mary does most of her patrols in the Superstar Daycare. So, if the animatronic was there, Mary would most likely find it.

Anthony sighs in relief, deciding that he would continue his search for the Theatre Bot’s programming chip. And he would shoot Moon a quick message too. One, to look out for said Theatre Bot with a very detailed description of what it looked like, and two, to keep Zero and Aziza for an extra hour.

God, he needed a break.

Notes:

God, sounds like he REALLY needs a break.

Chapter Text

Well, that charge felt nice.

Sun wakes up energetically, unplugging himself and running out of his and Moon’s room, not checking to see if Moon was still charging or not, but who cares? Moon didn’t help with playtime anyway.

Sun runs onto the balcony and stops, looking around the Daycare to find that he woke up an hour early. Great, later than he usually wakes up, but he’ll blame that on the extra hour he had to endure while watching Zero. And making sure he went to sleep.

He jumps down from the balcony and into the ball pit balls below, swimming out of them and onto the padded, blue ground of the Daycare.

He looks over at the security desk to find Moon typing away at something he most likely would not get the knowledge of until a second too late. Again. Like always.

Sun walks over to the security desk and lays his elbows on it, laying his head on the palms of his hands.

“Whatcha working on, Moony?” Sun asks, his rays spinning with anticipation as he awaits Moon’s response to his question.

“Have I ever told you how much I hate that name?” Moon asks, his typing coming to a halt as he looks up from the computer and at Sun, who smiles at him despite the negative remark.

“Yes, but I still like it,” Sun replies happily before deciding to get up and go around to see if he needed to clean anything in the Daycare. Like the ball pit balls Zero had thrown on the ground and in the play structures.

Sun breathes in, then breathes out before placing his hands on his hip, turning back to Moon as his inner rays pop out and begin spinning for a second before stopping.

“You’re gonna get off that computer when the Daycare opens, got it?” Sun asks in a stern tone that made Moon slightly flinch.

Strange. Actually, that was the first time Sun had used that kind of tone on Moon. Sure, he’d use it on the troublemaking kids, but he’s never been bold enough to do it on Moon. Something was wrong here. Or something was bothering Sun, which was extremely unlikely since he had just woken up.

Moon sighs and begins typing on the computer again before plugging himself onto it. Whatever he typed out seemed to be downloading into him.

“What are you doing?” Sun asked with an empty voice that still held a slight hint of confusion stirred in it.

“Downloading the camera system into my settings so I can find a runaway animatronic,” Moon replies as he looks up at Sun to see if he bored him yet.

However, Sun only looked more interested as he seemed to have decided to drop the idea of cleaning to listen to Moon some more.

“And who’s the runaway?” Sun asks, tilting his head to the side with a twitch of his rays. Moon blinks a couple of times before giving him a lopsided smile.

“It‘s a Theatre Bot Mr. Mullins was in the process of making,” Moon replies, looking away from Sun to think. “But, with how much I know you don’t like Theatre crap, you probably don’t want to listen to stuff about it, right?” Moon looks back over at Sun to find him even more interested than before, his eyes seemingly sparkling, even though that was not a feature they had in them.

“Yeah, I remember Mr. Mullins talking about it, sounded interesting,” Sun says before walking behind the security desk and next to Moon, crouching down and putting his hands on his knees as he reads over the code. “Think I could help with some things Mr. Mullins taught me? I know quite a bit of code now!”

“Sure, go ahead,” Moon says as he watches Sun plop down in the seat next to him, the comfy, red chair rolling over to Moon’s as Sun begins typing his metaphorical heart out on the computer. “If I detect a mistake of some kind, let me fix it, okay?”

“Kay Moon,” Sun says in what seemed to be an ‘I-was-not-listening’ tone, his focus stationed on the computer and lines of code that he could easily change with the click of a button. But Moon knew Sun wouldn’t be bold enough to even try something like.

Moon watched as Sun’s inner and outer rays spun around slowly in opposite directions, presumably due to the focus Sun was in to not worry about them at all. Especially since Sun had never once activated his inner rays before.

A few minutes passed, and Sun finally seemed to be done. He seemed proud of himself, especially when he stood up from him seat and put his hands on his hip, the chair he was sitting in before rolling over to the wall behind him.

“What’d you do anyway?” Moon asked, attempting to read over the code Sun had added to him, but found his optics attempting to shut down every time he looked at it. So, instead of looking at the code, he looked at Sun instead. And he returned Moon’s gaze.

“I linked our Mindscapes!” Sun says with confidence, gaining a look of shock from Moon upon hearing what his brother could do with code. “So we can talk to each other when far away. Without messaging each other. It’d be easier, don’t you think?”

“Yeah,” Moon responds, looking back at the computer before turning it off. I mean, what Sun described seemed to be correct. His mind did feel fresher, and it would explain why Sun had plugged himself into the computer as well.

“Ima go clean now, have a good day brother!” Moon looks up at Sun and finds him running into one of the play structures in an attempt to find the ball pit balls Zero threw into them. He also noticed his inner rays had hidden themselves again, for whatever reason.

Didn’t matter anyway. Maybe Sun had just forgot they were out and deactivated them. Moon didn’t really care. He had forgotten to charge, and he needs to do so before naptime. So, he makes his way up toward the balcony.

Playtime

Moon watched Sun from the balcony, swinging his legs off the edge as Sun played with the kids down below him. His tar, black eyes narrow down at Sun before looking away and back into the balcony area.

He stands up and makes a beeline to his and Sun’s room, crawling through the tube, sliding out of it and on the soft floor of the bedroom.

It felt like it was tempting him to sleep. But he couldn’t, he had to see what was wrong with the computer.

It had started malfunctioning yesterday after he found Sun in his room, sleeping on the ground next to it while Aziza slept obliviously in his bed. Comfortably.

Nope, getting up, he’s getting up before he actually falls asleep.

Moon walks over to the arcade machine, his computer, and turns it on, finding the screen glitching with purple static, a distorted version of the Balloon World music quietly ringing out from it. The game setting was on, yes, but the game doesn’t usually do… this.

Though, based off what he was seeing and hearing, it would be the bug Aziza had found while playing the game. And what started her obsession to it.

The pixelated sky on the arcade screen was dark and glitching with a dark orange glow. The clouds looking like a black fog instead of what they were actually shaped to be. And instead of the sun in the corner, a solar eclipse stood there instead, watching Moon through the screen with a wide smile and eery, white glowing eyes.

God, what the hell did Aziza see in this arcade glitch anyway? Why did it interest her so much? Actually, the purple static reminded him of a yellow bunny he saw once that was also glitching with purple static surrounding it.

Meh, probably didn’t matter. This glitch was probably the reason the computer was acting up anyway. He just needed to take it out and- Don’t do that.

A message popped up on his HUD. No, a warning? It looked like both. Moon quickly reads it over before pushing it to the back of his head to be trashed.

But, another message decided it wanted to piss him off as it popped up and took his attention away from the arcade. Fine. He’ll pay attention to this one.

MESSAGE: PLEASE LISTEN. HE’S CALLING FOR YOU, IT’S NAPTIME.

Naptime? Wait, crap, what time is it?!

Moon checks his eternal clock to see that he had also missed the alarm for naptime. It was now 1:00pm and he HAD to put the children to sleep, his programming screaming at him to do so.

God, what would Sunny think about this? Would he be mad, partly annoyed? Or would he- oh. Never mind, guess it would be none of that.

Moon looked down at the quiet Daycare, the lights off and the stars and moons that would usually be behind the balcony were glowing in the dark below it instead.

The children, quiet and asleep, were accompanied by Sun, who had a child laying her head in his lap, quietly snoring as Sun gently caressed her hair.

Another girl was also there, standing next to Sun and waiting for… something. Most likely for Moon since upon scanning the awake little girl, he saw that it was Aziza. The girl lying on Sun’s lap was named “Evelyn Winters”.

“Moon, get your ass down here.” Well, crap. Guess Sun was mad at him, even deciding to send in a cuss word for extra measure. Very not-Sun-like, but Moon didn’t care.

The wire from the ceiling descends down and hooks onto Moon’s back as he jumps off the balcony, the wire letting his body slowly descend toward the padded blue floor, which Moon gracefully steps on as the wire unhooks itself off his back.

Moon walks over to Sun, who was staring at him with eery, white glowing eyes. Like the solar eclipse virus thing in Balloon World.

Gah, why was he even thinking about that right now? He missed the naptime routine and that forced Sun, who mentally should NOT be able to do, perform it instead of him.

“Sorry.” Really? Was that all he had to say for himself? God, say something else before Sun does, because that would probably wake every single kid up!

“You’re fine, I like the quiet anyway,” Sun says in a surprising soft and gentle tone, quiet enough to be heard as a faint whisper, which honestly surprised Moon. Again. Why was Sun acting so different today?

Moon looks down at Aziza, who had now placed her head on Sun’s shoulder, her arms wrapped around his neck. Sun’s outer rays were out again, but were glowing white instead of their usual shade of orange.

“Did you need something else, Moon?” Sun asks, looking back in front of him and at the sleeping children.

“No, but I still apologize for making you do my job,” Moon says before turning around and deciding to go back up to his and Sun’s room to fix the computer, but his programming kept SCREAMING at him, and messages kept popping up on his HUD. It was starting to annoy him, but he couldn’t do anything about it. If he threw one away, another would pop up.

“I’ll be in Rockstar Row,” Moon says with a grunt as he teleports away.

Sun sighs as Aziza gets off of him. He looks down at Evelyn, memories of her flashing in front of him causing his processors to scream.

HURT. Hurt them. Pulled them. Pain. Ripped. Her fault. She did this to them. THEY did this to them both. They-

“Mr. Sun, are you okay? You’re staring at Evelyn weirdly,” Aziza says quietly in sincere worry, scratching the back of her head as one of her cheeks puff out.

Sun blinks a couple of times, his inner rays spinning a couple of times.

“Yeah, I’m fine, little Solar,” Sun responds, wearing a fake smile on his stolen face as he looks away from Aziza and at the rest of the kids. “Just tired of acting.”

“Then stop?” Aziza requests, not knowing what Sun had meant by that. But, it seemed Sun hadn’t heard her. He stood up, carrying Evelyn in her arms as a really realistic hologram sits on the floor where Sun was once sitting.

Aziza looks at it in confusion before looking up at Sun, her lip swirling as her eyes soften, watching as Sun walks over to a few more kids, waking them up and watching as they followed him toward… the back?

Why would he- no, doesn’t matter right now. Where did Moon say he was going to? Right, Rockstar Row. For why, Aziza didn’t know. Though, she still began walking, which turned into a silent run, over to the Daycare doors, opening them and closing them silently, immediately beginning her pursuit to go get Moon.

The Back

“Mr. Sun, why are we back here?” A little boy with brown hair and mint green eyes asked, trying to find his way through the dark room Sun had brought him and a few other children to, watching as Sun woke Evelyn up as well.

“You’ll see, Circe,” Sun responds, turning his head to him and smiling softly, though Circe had caught a slight hint of laughter in that reply. He didn’t like it. This didn’t feel right. And it seems the other kids felt the same.

Most of them stayed a far, safe distance behind Sun, still following the white glow on Sun’s striped pants. The glows looked like stars, which was confusing, but none of the children really focused on it.

“Where are we?” Evelyn asks, her tired voice echoing through the back with a yawn, and for Sun to stop walking, placing Evelyn on the floor. The children do the same, stopping behind Sun.

Calypso, Circe’s twin sister, walks over to him and wraps her arms around his right one, hugging it tightly in fear as she rest her head on his shoulder.

“What are we doing here, Sun?” A blonde haired girl named Olivia asks, crossing her arms as her dark brown eyes squint at Sun. She had left her glasses next to her sleeping bag, but it makes her look more menacing.

“Oh, would you like to be the first?” Sun asks, walking over to Olivia and squatting down in front of her, the children watching as his head tilts to side, and as Olivia takes a step back, her arms still crossed against her chest. “I was gonna make Circe the first since he asked first, but that could be you instead now.”

Olivia blinks a couple of times in confusion, her arms beginning to dangle in the air as Sun places his hands on her dark brown cheeks.

“What are you doing?” Olivia asks, grabbing one of Sun’s wrists. Jacob runs over to Sun and wraps his arms around Sun’s waist, pulling on him in an attempt to get Sun off Olivia since this was beginning to weird the poor boy out.

“Get off her!”

“Please forgive me if I’m not being gentle, Olivia, this is my first time.”

“Let go of-!” crack!

Rockstar Row

Aziza runs, runs as fast as she can, tripping a couple of a times, yes, but still fast enough that she reaches Rockstar Row, where she thankfully found Moon, who was arguing with a gator animatronic named Monty.

Or who Moon called “Money Stealer”.

Aziza runs up to Moon and grabs onto his leg, wrapping her arms around it and proceeding to shake it violently, almost making Moon fall.

“Oh I swear, who the hell-!” Moon stops himself, looking down at a scared looking Aziza. His scared little Star Bud, his Crescent. Geez, did she have to shake his leg so violently?

“Who’s this kid?” Monty asks with a slight growl that made Moon look over at him with a face that said, “Keep it to yourself”.

“My creator’s kid,” Moon says in a gentle tone so Aziza wouldn’t worry about what the hell these two were talking about. Speaking of Aziza, Moon looks back down at her to notice her arms shaking. “You alright Crescent? Did something happen?”

“Something’s wrong with Mr. Sun,” Aziza admits, looking up at Moon with tears in her eyes that Moon didn’t know she could even produce. He has NEVER seen this kid shed a single tear, which he’s now noticing is kinda worrying. “He lured uhm… about six children into the back.”

Moon’s eyes slightly widen as he picks Aziza up and looks over at Monty.

“You’re coming with us to keep an eye on the other children, okay?”

“Fine.”

There was that growl again, god it made Moon want to punch him so badly.

Daycare: The Back

Circe holds his sister close to him, wrapping his right arm around her head and slowly rubbing her back as she hides her head in his shoulder. Circe watches as Jacob lets Sun go and walks away from him and over to another kid, a boy, who was covering his mouth and crying, trying his hardest not to scream.

But, it appears he did anyway.

“Olivia!” Dillon screams, attempting to reach for her, run to her, but Jacob quickly wrapped his arms around his stomach to hold him back.

Circe stared at the two, worry painted on his face as he tried not to cry. Though, his head slowly turned to the sound of a mechanical head turning to find Sun staring at Dillon with eery white eyes, and for him to let go of Olivia’s head, her body falling like a rag doll onto the floor. Her neck snapped in the opposite direction, and it made Circe sick.

Sun stood up straight, his eyes still on Dillon as his hand placed itself on Evelyn’s head, ruffling her hair gently as she cried as if it was an attempt to comfort her before turning his body to the held back boy.

Dillon shakily put his hands on Jacob’s arms as he watches Sun approach him.

“Let go of me, Jacob!” Dillon screams, watching as Sun scoffs and walks over to him, feeling himself get released from Jacob’s hold, then immediately bolting toward the door.

Circe watches as Jacob moves off to the side, and as Sun walks past him, letting Circe see something shimmer on the back of Sun’s tutu.

With how dark the room was, it pretty hard to see it, and the sparkle on it meant it must’ve been sharp. Circe watches as Sun grabs it, and helplessly watches as Dillon claws at the door that had somehow been locked.

Calypso moves herself to the front of Circe’s body, hiding her head in his chest and having Circe move his arms to hold onto her shaky body before looking away from Dillon and down at his sister.

“Mr. Sun, no!” Evelyn screams, and Circe looks up at her in fear, scooping Calypso in his arms and allowed her to still hide her head. He runs over to Evelyn and quietly shushes her.

“But Mr. Sun is going to hurt Dillon,” Evelyn says, holding her hands against her chest as if to pray. Well, since she closed her eyes as well, I guess she was praying.

Circe lets Calypso down and puts his hands on her shoulder.

“Callie, sissy, please go to Evelyn and find the darkest corner,” Circe says as Calypso opens one of her eyes to look at Circe in mild confusion. “I’ll join you two after, okay?”

“Okay brother,” Calypso silently says, walking over to Evelyn and whispering to her what Circe ordered. Evelyn nods and opens her eyes, walking with Calypso to one of the close corners.

Circe sighs before running over to Jacob, his steps echoing in the room as he reaches the smaller child and wraps his arms around him.

“Cover your ears, don’t look,” Circe says and watching as Jacob does exactly as he’s told. Then, Circe closes his eyes, attempting to block out Dillon’s cries as something stabs into his flesh, and his cries are immediately silenced.

“Good, that silenced him,” Sun says in a deeper voice than his high pitched, energetic one, which made Circe peek his head over at Sun in confusion.

He still looked the same, every piece that was meant to glow was still glowing, so what was-

Oh. That’s what was different.

Sun turned his head around for Circe to see his face plate. His eyes, dark like Moon’s, pupils glowing an eery white instead of Moon’s scarlet red. And this confused Circe.

“Circe, I do believe you’re next.” Circe stares at him with wide eyes before falling to his knees, taking Jacob down with him, moving the poor boy to sit against the wall, his ears still covered and his eyes glued shut. Yeah, it would be better if he didn’t see this.

The Mindscape

Sun paced back and forth, frightened. God, what was he meant to do here? He had woken up here and had no way of knowing what was happening out there, other than the hints of Moon’s voice and the screaming of children, and that terrified him.

What was Eclipse doing out there?! How had Eclipse gained privilege to take control of his body while he was asleep? Can other pieces of code just take control when you’re powered down? No, that didn’t matter, he needed to know how to-

“Did I do something wrong?” Sun winces as Evelyn’s quiet voice echoes off the puffball clouds, ringing in his head. Literally.

Hell no, Sun needed to gain control of his body now. What if Eclipse hurt Aziza? Wait, no, hurt is too gracious, he was part of Moon’s Killcode after all. At least, that’s what Eclipse explained.

“Eclipse, don’t you dare hurt her!” Sun screamed, unaware of if Eclipse could even hear his cries. Well, if Sun was able to hear Moon when they once shared a body, then surely Eclipse could hear him.

Right?

Sun quietly growls before looking over to find the cube right behind him, spinning and glowing in blue and pink hues. How convenient, Sun needed to test something now anyway.

Sun puts his hands on the cube, feeling a heartbeat coming from inside him, which he didn’t quite understand, but that did not matter to him. What matters now is making sure the children in the Daycare were not harmed in any way.

“Nonsense Evelyn, of course you did. You were one of the gentler ones though,” Eclipse’s voice rings from the cube as its light pulses brighter from his voice. Ugh, come on, let him out, let him-!

……out?

Daycare Entrance

The shutters into the Daycare open, and Moon puts Aziza down as Monty runs through and toward the nearest set of stairs. And Aziza begins running toward the slide, swiftly sliding down the colorful tube.

Moon sighs before teleporting into the Daycare where he found sleeping children resting in blissful ignorance.

Moon glances over at the ball pit to see that Aziza has already slid into them and was somewhat quietly climbing out of them, stepping onto the padded floor as Monty bursts through the Daycare doors.

“What’s with the hologram of Sun?” Monty immediately points out, pointing at it before looking at Moon for answers, in which he didn’t have.

“How would I know?” Moon asks, crossing his arms and turning his head back to look at Monty in sweet, sweet, annoyance.

“They’re in the back!” Moon turns his attention to Aziza, who was pointing to the back and waving to get Moon’s attention, and attention it had received.

Moon walks over to her and picks her back up, walking over to the back as Monty walks behind the security desk and sits in one of the many chairs they had available there.

With one swing, the door to the back opened, and it immediately received the response of Moon covering Aziza’s eyes, though Aziza had gotten the hint and turned away from the back, putting her head on Moon’s chest, so Moon removed his hand from her face.

Inside the pitch black back room sat Sun, sitting down on the ground at the back of the room, the somber light in the Daycare brightening the dim and sad expression Sun wore on as his face as it turned over to look at Moon.

Moon took a step into the room, and already felt the dread creep through his systems. The floors and walls were stained with a dark, maroon color of blood, and children’s bodies sat at the end of walls or laid flat on the floor.

Hell, Moon didn’t even notice a little boy’s body had been slightly moved to the middle of the room when he opened the door, a puncture wound displayed on his neck and chest, exactly where his heart was.

“Sun, what-?” Moon pauses as Sun stands up, holding an arm in his hand, and that made Moon’s eyes dilate in horror.

“Moony?” Sun quietly asks through sobs, oil spilling out of his eyes and staining his cheeks a dark blue. “Moony, please, this wasn’t my fault, I-“

“Save it, Sunrise,” Moon responds, watching as Sun’s rays retracted a bit behind his head at the harshness in Moon’s voice. “What the hell happened here, what’d you do?”

“I-It wasn’t me, it was this being named Eclipse w-who-“ Sun couldn’t even finish his sentence as another sob broke through and he collapsed back onto his knees. “It was a piece of c-code named Eclipse.” Sun looked up at Moon, making contact with cold eyes that seemed to be judging him. “He said he was leftover parts of your Killcode and-“

“Are you lying to me?” Moon asks in an empty tone, making Sun flinch and look away from Moon, though he immediately looked back when his gaze had been drawn to Dillon’s- no. Better not think about that. “I never left anything from my Killcode in you. It was erased by Mr. Mullins.”

Sun blinks a couple times in confusion before standing back up and walking over to Moon, who let Aziza down and watched as he dug her head into his starry pants to shield her eyes from the gruesome scene.

Sun wraps his arms around Moon, crying into his shoulder and staining Moon in the same blood that stained his own body.

A wave of relief washes through Sun’s systems as a hand is placed on his back, and he feels Moon place his head on his shoulder. He feels Moon softly draw circles on his back in an attempt to soothe him, comfort him.

“We’ll talk about this when you wake up. Don’t you dare think-“ That’s all Sun could hear before his systems shut down, and he went limp like a rag doll in Moon’s grasp.

Superstar Theatre

The shutters to the Superstar Theatre open, revealing the darkness that lied within. The side counter sat as still as ever, but the door to the back was wide open.

Mary blinks a couple of times before sighing and walking in, taking her flashlight off her belt and turning it on with a click, pointing it to the inside of the Theatre.

“So you’re saying ‘Lunar Eclipse’ is coded to come here?” Mary asks, her earbuds blinking with a blue light as a response comes through.

“That’s right,” Mary’s husband, Anthony, replies. “I appreciate you trying to find him, but I’d rather you supervise the actual Daycare.”

“Sun and Moon are already taking care of Aziza, it’s fine,” Mary says before walking into the back to find a bed of some sorts and a charging station that looks like it was used recently.

“Yes, but after the disappearances recently in the Daycare, I-“ Anthony pauses, causing Mary to sigh and rub her forehead with her index and thumb.

“Aziza will not go missing,” Mary says as tears begin to form in her eyes, though she immediately wipes them before any actually fall out. “Not like Zachary.”

“Alright. Good luck, love,” Anthony says as Mary takes her earbuds out of her ear, putting them in her pocket as she hears the sound of the call ending

Good. She could focus now.

She points her flashlight up, trying to find if there was a vent the lunar modeled animatronic could climb through, if it was here. However, Mary could find no such thing, so she walked out of the room, her flashlight now pointing ahead so she could see.

Mary walks over to the stairs leading toward the stage, which she points her flashlight toward, catching the glimpse of a red and blue leg running into the costume side-room that the staff bots used for their performances. And Mary knew full well there was no other way to get out of that room, so she confidently walked down the stairs and turned into the costume room, shining her light in it.

A red, lunar modeled animatronic was found inside of the room, looking away from Mary and covering his face with a slight ‘hiss’. Most likely from light sensitivity, like what Moon used to have before his new body.

“Hello?” Mary says, a hint of confusion in her voice as she walked up to the red and blue animatronic. Well, not really blue, they were mostly red, but specks of blue covered their arms, pants, and faceplate. “Are you Lunar Eclipse per chance?”

“Yes, now turn off the light!” came another hiss as a pair of pitch black eyes look down at her with a white and red glow. Actually, one of his eyes had a white glowing ritual star in it, and the other glowed a scarlet red like Moon with a tiny white speck hidden in all the red.

“I would, but then I wouldn’t be able to see you if you ran off,” Mary says, keeping the light pointed at the animatronic and putting her free hand on her hip. “So I’d like you to come with me to Parts and Service and back to my husband so he can finish your programming.”

“We think it’s good enough.”

Well, that confused Mary. A different, more rough voice came out of the animatronic’s mouth as more blue specs began to cover their chest casing.

“We? Oh, right, there are two of you in there, I forgot about that part,” Mary winces. “You’re not hostile, right? You are a learning AI after all, I don’t know if you’ve seen Monty.”

The red animatronic, who Mary was just gonna call Lunar, tilted his head to the side in confusion as… a pair of rays spun around the back of their faceplate? Was one of them meant to be a Sun Model or something?

“Okay, come with me?” Mary asks again, a lot quicker than before, yes, but she sorta wanted to get back to her usual patrol. She still had other places to go to. Plus, she was tired.

“No,” came out the higher voice.

“Our code led us here,” came out the rougher counterpart.

“And your ‘code’ is not complete,” Mary angrily states through gritted teeth. Lunar grumbles a little before whisper amongst themselves before looking over at Mary, who sighs. “Actually, I have some questions for you, if you don’t mind. I won’t take you to Parts and Service, but I am gonna need to take you to a sound proofed area.”

Lunar’s eyes narrow down at Mary before looking over at the costume crap. Then, they look back at Mary.

“Fine.”

“We agree.”

“Good!” Mary exclaims, clapping her hands together with the flashlight in between. “Vamos chicos. We gotta get there before security bots begin patrolling here.”

Daycare

Sun sat in one of the red, wheel chairs behind the security desk, fiddling with his fingers, his rays slightly twitching here and there nervously. Moon hadn’t been there when Sun woke up, so he most likely didn’t know, but that didn’t mean there wasn’t the possibility he did.

Sun looked around the Daycare a little, the balcony catching his attention as he watched Moon walk onto it, staring down at Sun with an expression Sun couldn’t quite make out before the wire connected to his back, and he flew over to him, landing on the blue padded floor as the wire unhooked itself from Moon’s back.

“So what the hell happened in the back?” Moon asked in a rough tone that made Sun want to shrink into his chair.

“I already told you, it was a piece of-!” “I never left anything from my Killcode in you. It was erased by Mr. Mullins.”

Sun pauses, caution worn on his face as looked up at Moon fearfully, though trying not to make eye contact with those cold, scarlet eyes.

“Yes?”

“A piece of code named Eclipse took over my body. I was stuck in the Mindscape since I first woke up, so I don’t know what happened.” Sun looks away from Moon out of nervousness as his rays begin poking out again, his inner rays poking out as well and nestling in between his outer rays.

“Hm. Alright, I’ll believe you,” Moon replies, walking behind the security desk and sitting in the chair next to Sun. “But how’d you acquire that code?”

“I think it happened when I went up to Aziza’s room. Oh, and how long was I asleep for?” Sun replies, asking a question at the end in confusion as he puts his hands on his knees, tapping them slowly.

“A week. I tried asking you what happened last week, but you kept playing it off,” Moon says, putting his elbow on his knee and resting his head on his knuckles.

“I don’t remember that,” Sun says in mild confusion as his rays spin slowly, watching as Moon slowly turned his head toward Sun, wild bewilderment spread on his face. “This is the first time I’ve woken up since… since.” Sun pauses, fear painted on his face as his rays shrink behind his head, his inner rays hiding themselves for good.

“Crap.”

Padded Room: Interview

Mary sat in the chair in the back of the room, but still in front of Lunar so she could still see him. Though sitting him right next to the door might’ve been a bad choice, but that was risk she would take to help him feel comfortable.

She turned the camera on, but that made Lunar decide to stand up.

“It’s not on, it’s just recording audio,” Mary explains before the red and blue animatronic could take another step toward the door. “Do you want me to dim the lights?”

Lunar blinked a couple of times before sitting down again laying his head on the table and looking up at the bright lights in the room.

“Yes.”

“We want the lights dimmed.”

“‘Kay,” Mary responds, grabbing the remote from the table and pressing a button on it, causing the lights to dim down to almost dark. But bright enough that she could still see him.

“Are you ready to begin now?” Lunar’s rays perk out for a few seconds before hiding themselves behind their faceplate again as they look over at Mary.

“Yes.”

“We’re ready.”

“Good, let’s start then,” Mary says, pointing the camera lens toward her so her voice would be louder, and Lunar’s more quiet since they didn’t seem to like being ‘recorded’. “Why don’t you want to go back down to Parts and Service?”

“Program told us to leave.”

“We just did as it told us to.”

Ah. She’d have to tell Anthony to fix that so it wouldn’t happen again. Well, it’s not like they’d go back down now.

“Good to know,” Mary says with a sigh, blinking a couple of times before going wide eyed. Did they say their program told them to leave? Why would Anthony have their program tell them to leave when he wasn’t even finished with them yet? “But Anthony never finished you, so your program shouldn’t have told you to leave, Lunar.”

“It just told us to leave.”

“We don’t remember why.”

“Can you try to remember?” Mary asks, annoyed, beginning to get a little anxious as she fiddled with her fingers. Wait, crap, she was getting anxious. She doesn’t want to scare the animatronic away, she needs to calm down.

Lunar blinks a couple of times, looking over at the door before looking at the far wall. Then, there’s a click sound, and Mary looks up at Lunar to find they had… blue screened.

Great. Just what she needed right now.

Lunar comes back online with a silent gasp, looking down at Mary and putting their hand on their throat, their small pupils slowly growing bigger until they were back at its original size.

“Sorry, didn’t know that would happen,” Mary speaks with an apologetic tone, looking away from Lunar with a wince. “And I’m sorry for asking this again, but could you try to remember what happened? Maybe you saw who messed with your code?”

Lunar silently hissed before scooting his seat away and sitting on the white, padded floor, slightly confusing Mary when she looked over at him.

“Are you mocking my height?” Mary asks through grit teeth, her eye twitching as her hands clenched into fists. She’s always been short; she got it from her mother, then passed it onto her daughter and her twin.

“No.”

“Maybe.”

“What’re you gonna do about it?”

“You don’t seem capable of doing anything to us, so why should we be scared?”

“I will dismantle you for parts, robot,” Mary says as her anxiety pushes to her head, her tone brash as she stood from her chair. “My husband is your creator, and I’ve learned some things from him.” Lunar’s eyes slightly dilate as Mary continues her speech. “So I know which parts I can take off of you without shutting you off, but still where you’d feel the most pain.”

Lunar shrinks into the white, padded floor, fingers- no, claws?, clenching the table in what seemed to be fear. Yeah, Mary had that kind of charm, but she didn’t know it worked on robots. She definitely knew it worked on her coworkers.

Mary sighs before pulling her chair closer to her, and sitting back in it, watching as Lunar rises from the floor, pulls their chair back, and sits down in it, scooting it closer to the table.

“Sorry about that,” Mary apologizes again, closing her eyes and letting out a silent breath. She opens her eyes to find that Lunar’s rays had popped out again, and were spinning around the back of his faceplate slowly. “But, again, could you try to remember what happened? And try going at a slower pace, it might help.”

Lunar’s eyes narrow at Mary, looking away nervously, rays stopping with a click and hiding away behind his faceplate. Oh, wait, have their rays been poking through their hat?

Lunar closes their eyes. Had they actually seen who had done it? If Mary said they weren’t… done. Then why would they be released so early, why would they be told to leave? But who told them to leave?! Who is-?

Memory #1

“Well, aren’t you a fine creation,” the voice speaks, confusing the fused animatronics. Their optics were off, but they were powered on, and they didn’t know who was speaking. “Hm? Oh, you’re on.” It sounded like a girl. Was it a girl? “You’re the new theatre bot right? Yeah, you are, a Blood Moon Lunar Eclipse, and a Blue Moon Lunar Eclipse.”

“Who-?”

“Hush now, don’t speak, we work with your creator.”

We? Where was the other one, they didn’t hear anyone else. Well, other than the sound of distant sound of typing, no one else was there.

“Eclipse, are you almost done?”

“Yeah, be patient #######.”

What? They couldn’t hear her name. What was her name? The other was… Eclipse?

“Anyways. You, Lunar Eclipse, are a Theatre Bot. I will give you a signal in the form of a bell ringing. Do you know what that sounds like?”

They shake their head no.

“Unfortunate. Well, I’ll play it now so you can learn it. Prepare yourselves.”

Prepare? Why would they need to- Ring!

“ACH!”

“Geez, is the sound that loud? Turn it down Eclipse, I don’t want them going deaf.”

“Fine.”

Well, that was definitely… loud. Too loud, that almost hurt. Why would… Eclipse? Was that his name? Yeah, it was. Why would Eclipse make it that loud?

“Anyways, continuing what I was saying before. I will play that bell sound when it is time for you to leave. And again, prepare yourself. Because, when the bells rings, everything will power on at once, so you may feel disoriented.”

“Okay?” they finally responded. They could hear the soft giggle coming from the girl, and the sound of something… rising up. Then, it shut again. And-

Memory log end

Lunar opens his eyes, looking down at Mary, who was holding something red with blue marks on it and white stars. And something sharp being poked into it.

“Is that our hat?”

“Why do you have our hat?”

“Needed something to pass the time,” Mary responds, looking up at Lunar with a neutral expression worn on her face. “Plus, your rays kept poking through it, so I’m doing this as a favor to you.”

“Why?”

“We haven’t done jack squat for you.”

“I added something to your code,” Mary explains, looking back down at the hat and the sewing needle, continuing her work. “My husband is paranoid about losing his daughter due to the mysterious disappearances in the Daycare.” Lunar’s head tilts in interest. “I’ve added a protection protocol to your code. You will protect my children while they’re in the Daycare, understood?”

Lunar straightens his head as he reads over his own code. And lo and behold, there it was, the protection protocol. Lunar’s eyes soften as they slightly glow purple before he nods.

Mary stops her work and looks up at Lunar, a little confused on what she was seeing. “Hm? I’m gonna guess that means both of you agree with it,” Mary says with a gentle smile. “You two can go now.”

Lunar blinks, and the purple glow disappeared. They stood up from their chair and left the padded room, leaving Mary to her work. Good, she could get back to her usual patrol. After she got done stitching up the fused animatronic’s hat.

Theatre: Costume Room

Lunar grumbled quietly, sliding against the wall of the costume room and looking at everything he could wear, that they most likely would have to wear for performances. If they could do that with an unfinished program.

They put their hand on the top of their head, frowning when remember they had no hat. So, they got up and began to rummage through the dress up boxes, specifically the one for the Daycare Attendants.

They knew their design was based off the Daycare Attendant “Moondrop”, so they should have a Moondrop animatronic hat in here.

In which they thankfully did. They lifted the blue and yellow starry hat out of the box, not minding the other costume items spilling out of the box.

They smooth out the fabric on the hat, going down to the bell, hearing it ring as they slightly poked their finger on it, a sound of familiarity. A signal. Not anymore it wasn’t, it was just so they left Parts and Service.

They place the hat on their head, tilting it slightly and comfortable in the way it fit around their head.

Yeah, this was nice. Now, they better start the new protocol their code rung in their ear. Just so they wouldn’t forget, that’s all.

Daycare

Aziza watches as Sun anxiously paces back and forth, play structure to play structure. Honestly, it was stupid to watch, which is why it was pretty funny.

“Mr. Moon, is Sunrise okay?” Aziza says as Sun begins mumbling to himself, causing her to giggle.

“He’s fine, just confused on stuff,” Moon explains, putting his hand on Aziza’s head, ruffling her hair as she grabs his starry pants. “Stuff I myself am confused about.”

Aziza nods at Moon’s answer, continuing to watch Moon before hearing the sound of a bell behind her.

She turns her head around, scanning the security desk behind her, and searching for the bell through the windows. She did see it, but it ran behind the wall before she could see who held it.

Her mouth vibrated as she grumbled, turning back to what was in front of her.

“Did you hear the bell sound too?” Sun asks, startling Aziza after noticing Sun was now standing in front of her and Moon.

“No? Aziza, did you hear anything?” Moon asks, causing Aziza to look up at him in what seemed like nervousness. Those dark, cold eyes staring down at her. God, she could never forget the pain she went through trying to save Jonathon. The poor boy. Her poor neck.

“I did, but I thought it was Moon’s bell,” Aziza says, pointing to the back of Moon’s head in an attempt to explain what she meant.

“No, I hadn’t moved my head,” Moon explains, tilting his head down a little, the sound of his hat’s bell ringing with the movement.

Oh, this sassy little attitude of his reminded Aziza of her mother. And Zachery.

“Mhm,” Sun hums. “True, that is true. But no one else has your hat, Moon.”

“Unless it’s the theatre bot,” Moon suggests, lifting his hand off Aziza’s head and crossing his arms. “He’s meant to be lunar themed after all, so maybe he has the same hat.”

Sun nods at the suggestion, but Aziza just stands there in thought. The theatre bot her dad had been talking about? What was his name again, Lunar Eclipse? Geez.

“An Eclipse model?” Aziza silently says. Though it appeared she had not said it as quietly as she thought because her caretakers looked down at her in unease and confusion.

“You know about-?” Sun trailed off, his inner rays poking out as he kept his mouth shut.

“Hm? Are there blueprints for an Eclipse model?! That’d be so cool!” Aziza exclaims, jumping up and down and shaking Moon’s leg as well, causing him to trip, but he quickly balanced himself.

She was a very energetic kid. Which is why Moon is always confused on what makes her like the night better.

Parts and Service

Sun lays down in the Parts and Service chair from inside the protective cylinder, watching as Moon typed something out on the computer with Aziza standing by his side, swaying her body back and forth, her arms behind her back as she swayed on her tippy toes and heel.

However, it appeared she had gotten bored since she immediately went to go look around Parts and Service.

“When’s Mr. Mullins coming down?” Sun asks, watching as Moon looked up from the computer and over at Sun. He mumbles something before looking back down at the computer. “Are you doing this without him knowing?!” When his brother didn’t answer, that made him even more annoyed. “Moon!”

“Shut up, Sun,” Moon finally says. Yeah, seems Moon was already tired of his bickering. Sun just sighed and crossed his arms in the chair, watching as Aziza happily skipped back over to Moon and proceeded to climb up his pants and onto Moon’s back.

Moon gives her a small smile, placing one of his hands on Aziza’s bottom to make sure she didn’t fall before continuing to type on the computer.

“Moondrop, take a break,” Aziza demands with puppy dog eyes included for when Moon turned around to look at her. Which he didn’t end up doing, and that made her pout.

“I’ll be fine Aziza, robot’s like me don’t need breaks,” Moon responds, and that slightly annoys Aziza, receiving the response of her jumping off Moon’s back and walking into the protective cylinder. Moon quickly notices. “Star bud, what are you doing, get out of there!”

“I’ll be fine Moon,” Aziza says in the same tone as Moon had, and Sun immediately knew she was mocking him. Aziza happily looked up at Sun, climbing up onto the chair and onto his chest casing. “So, Sunny, why do you need a check up?”

“Because I’ve been acting weird for the past couple of weeks,” Sun explains, watching as Aziza’s head tilted to the side in confusion, her amber dove eyes blinking a couple of times.

“I didn’t notice anything weird,” Aziza says, straightening her head and slightly looking over at Moon. “Well, except for when you stared at Evelyn weirdly, and led those children toward the back.” Aziza turns her attention back to Sun, watching as he immediately frowned with an uncomfortable look on his face. “Oh yeah, I have an idea for a puppet show that I wanted to share with a you!”

“Ooh, spill it, Flame Star!” Sun exclaims excitedly, awaiting to hear what the next show would be about.

Moon just watched the two of them, sighing as he continued his work. Nothing seemed wrong in his code, which meant Sun was lying. What about added-

ECLIPSE.EXE RUNNING NOW…

Wait, what was this?… wait-

“Aziza, get out of there!” Moon yells, catching both Aziza and Sun’s attention. No, that wasn’t Sun, Sun doesn’t activate his inner rays.

Aziza tilts her head to the side in confusion before looking back at… Eclipse? Is that the name Sun introduced him as? Yeah, that was right. No, that didn’t matter.

Moon gets his hands off the keyboard and watches as the door into the cylinder opened, allowing Moon entry, which he gladly accepted. He bolted in and watched as Aziza… played with the rays.

Damnit child, now is not the time for this.

Moon grabs Aziza by her sides and picks her up carrying her out of the cylinder, looking back at Eclipse to find the expression he wore to be one of anger.

Yeah, you wouldn’t be touching Aziza so soon you stupid bug.

Moon lets Aziza down and onto the floor as the protective cylinder’s doors closed. Aziza seemed partly annoyed by this, but Moon chose to ignore it and go back to the computer, continuing what he was doing before. And now that he’s found Eclipse’s program, he could swiftly remove it from-

“The Theatre bots name is Lunar, right?” Eclipse asks in Sun’s voice, his attention on the wandering Aziza, but his question obviously directed at Moon.

“Yeah, what about it?” Moon asks, granting Eclipse a few minutes to ask some final questions before he was deleted permanently.

“That’s pretty funny,” Eclipse laughs a little, looking over at Moon and smiling. “I’d rather not be deleted though, think you could remove me from the cables?” Well, he said that a bit quieter. Probably so Aziza wouldn’t hear.

“No.”

“That’s too bad.”

“You wanna say your final words now, or wait ‘till later?”

“I’ll say them when I’m actually about to die, Moon. Right now, I want to meet my brother.”

What? Brother? This murdering bug in Sun’s system didn’t, and shouldn’t, have a brother, it’d be impossible.

Well, that’s what Moon thought before a message popped up on his HUD.

LUNAR.EXE BOOTING UP…

And just like that, Moon was booted out of his own body, something else taking the reigns  for him. Moon’s eyes shined a new icy blue instead of his scarlet ones, and they were wide enough to look like a child’s.

“Oh, hey, just press the bottom button,” Eclipse directs, the new program named Lunar doing as it was told. Soon, the cables release from Eclipse’s body, and he gets out of the chair. He walks out of the protective cylinder, walking over to Lunar and putting his hand on his shoulder affectionately. “Thank’s bu-“

“What the hell?” Aziza questions, staring at Eclipse and Lunar blankly, and slightly making Eclipse flinch. They both turn their attention toward the little girl in the room. “What’s going on here, what is this?”

“Aziza, I can explain,” Eclipse winces, making Lunar a slight bit more nervous than before as he begins fiddling with his fingers. “This was all just a little show. Just a-“

“Last I checked Moon’s eyes couldn’t change color,” Aziza explains, rejecting Eclipse’s idea immediately and crossing her arms. “And don’t you even think about touching me, I know how to turn you robots off.”

Yeah, she had him there. Crap.

The Mindscape

Moon woke up with a groan. His optics blinked on and he found himself in an abyss with pink and blue puffball clouds and…shit.

Moon stood up frantically, his eyes wide as he looked around. Why was he here again?! He hadn’t been here since he and Sun shore a body, and that was only a few months ago!

He looks to his right to find nothing but void, and to his left was probably- what’s with the medieval castle?

Moon blinks a couple of times, calming himself down and walking toward it, figuring it was better then standing in one space, waiting for whoever was in control of his body to let go of the reigns. Plus, he was quite fascinated in the medieval times.

Upon entering the medieval land, he found the sky to be a dark orange, and of the castle to be pitch black. Above the entire castle, however, was a star, its front staring down at Moon while holding a star-themed tower on top of it. It kinda resembled the balcony back in the Daycare.

Well, that’s probably where the cube was since this processed itself as the very center of his Mindscape. So, that’s where he’ll go.

How the hell was he meant to get up there?

“You could try to fly.”

Fly? Could he even- “Hello?” Moon says, confusion stirred in voice. “Who’s there?” He frantically began looking around the medieval land once no response came back to him, but found no one.

“Look up.”

Moon winces before doing as he’s told, his pupils shrinking as his eyes dilate at who he saw sitting on the starry balcony, dark bluish purple pants with white and yellow stars, and navy blue slippers with bells on the tip hanging off the edge of the balcony. Their chest casing was stained in oil, the moon side of the faceplate a dark, grayish blue, and the other a dark blue that was curving over one black. Their hat looked soft, and was bigger on their head, the fabric looking identical to Moon’s, but a more, darker, purple shade instead with more white stars on it.

They looked bigger than Moon, and their eyes made Moon slightly uncomfortable. That familiar, purple glow amongst the black void that made up their eyes.

His Killcode. But hadn’t his creator gotten rid of it? He said he erased it, hadn’t he? And he even told Sun it was gone. So, could Eclipse really be-

“Stop inquiring about past shit, Moon. I don’t have the time for your useless observations or thoughts, ‘nor do I wish to hear them.”

“How are you here?” Moon asked while looking around to try and find away up to the balcony that flew in the middle of the sky. “Mr. Anthony erased you from my systems.” Moon looked at a far wall and saw a dangling cable connected to the sky. So, he walked over to it, and tugged it, finding it to be sturdily held in place. And it had a hook on the end, isn’t that convenient?

“I am here because I never left. Or, I did, I do remember feeling my body evaporate into pure nothingness, but it appears mine code has been returned to thy mind and core.”

God, what was with the random Shakespeare terms added into that sentence? Sounded like they added an accent into it as well. Sounds like something that should be used in theatre.

Moon just sighed and turned around, hooking the cable onto his back and tugging on it again for good measure to make sure it was actually sturdy. And it still was, so he allowed it to slowly take him up toward the balcony, watching as Killcode panicked as Moon ascended up toward him.

Moon placed his foot on the balcony, but that immediately made the cable unhook and for Killcode to place his hands on Moon’s shoulder, gripping him tightly.

“I really do not have the time for this, and I do have a partner to work with at this moment, and I do wish to pay back the person who brought me back. I hope you’re ready for the play, Moo Moon.”

This little piece of-

Moon grabbed Killcode’s wrists and watched as they crouched a little to meet Moon’s eyes, and Moon decided to take this as an opportunity. He rammed his head into Killcode’s and felt their grip loosen, and Moon let go as well, letting Killcode stumble backward with a slight growl.

Moon scoffed before running past Killcode and lifting the light blue, transparent curtains out of his way, finding the cube spinning in a dark room filled with three or four stars on each wall. And Moon would’ve stayed to explore it a little more if he didn’t hear footsteps rushing into the room.

Moon placed his hands on the cube, closing his eyes shut and pushing with all his might to take back the reigns of his own body. His body.

He holds back a wince, keeping his eyes shut as a hand grabbed the end of his hat and pulled his hat and his head back a bit, but he still kept pushing for the reigns back.

Parts and Service

Moon sits up, looking around frantically to find he was in one of the cells in Parts and Service. He looked out of the glass to find no one there. Maybe he forgotten about? Who the hell locked him up anyway?

Hell, it was most likely Eclipse, but that didn’t mean it couldn’t be anyone else. Or maybe there isn’t any other possibility.

“Hello?” Moon says, standing up and walking up to the glass, getting a look at the other ends of Parts and Service. “Eclipse, you can unlock the cell.” Moon looks over in the other cells next to him to find no one in them, so he was definitely in here alone.

“Save it.”

“You both invaded my room. Why?”

“Do I know you?” Moon asks the voice in his head. He recognized Killcode’s, but not the more childish one. One that sounded like Sun.

“No, but you still invaded my room.”

“The exit was in it, Lunar.”

Oh. Is that why Eclipse said the name Lunar was funny? Is this Eclipse’s brother or something, because it’d make sense why a program called “LUNAR.EXE” had begun running when Eclipse mentioned said brother. And why he got kicked off the reigns.

Moon didn’t have time to think about it, not now at least. He’d try to figure shit out after he got out of this cell.

He checked the doors beside him, but they were both locked shut. He knocked on the glass, but it wasn’t  weakened in any way, so it didn’t crack. And Moon couldn’t teleport.

Moon startled back from the glass when he saw Eclipse peek over at him, the pitch black eyes with a white glow shining through, the glowing star pattern on his striped pants, and the white, inner rays nestled between Sun’s outer ones. Even though the inner rays were meant to be orange, but them being white instead of the usual orange was fitting since they were in Nightlight Mode.

“Oh, you are awake,” Eclipse says, crossing his arms and looking Moon up and down. “If you called for Sun, or for some reason me, then I didn’t hear you because noise cancellation in the cell is on. Didn’t want anyone hearing you.”

“Turn. It. Off,” Moon speaks slowly, testing to see if this prick could read lip or something.

Eclipse’s eye twitched, and he turned off the noise cancellation with the press of a button.

“Done. What do you want?”

“The hell you mean ‘What do you want’?! I want out, obviously.”

“No, yeah, obviously, I know you want out, but what do you want from me?”

Moon’s eye twitches in unstable bewilderment, shutting his emotions off so he wouldn’t begin and throwing insults and throw cuss words at Eclipse.

“I want you to let me out,” Moon says, putting his hand on his hip in an arrogant manner.

“I didn’t put you in there,” Eclipse says with confusion stirred in his voice, for some reason confused as to why Moon accused him. “My creator-“

“So you aren’t from my Killcode,” Moon says, gripping his hip a little tighter in annoyance.

“Yes, I lied to your brother, so what?” Eclipse asks, looking away from Moon with a scoff, his arms clenching his sides. “My creator came and placed you in there after Aziza left to go fetch someone from STAFF.”

“Did she ever come back?” Moon asks, his grip softening as he places his arm on the glass, rotating his arm a bit.

“She came back with my creator.” Good. You just gave your creator away Eclipse.

“Brother’s stupid.”

“Should I tell him you said that, dear Luna?”

“You know I don’t like that name, don’t call me it, Insomnia.”

“I apologize Lunar, that was rude of me. Now that I think about it, I actually don’t quite care.”

“Should I tell Eclipse you said THAT to his brother?”

And then they started arguing, and it was starting to make Moon’s head hurt. And Eclipse quickly noticed it, giving Moon smile.

“You okay? You look hurt,” Eclipse mocks, laughing a little and making Moon’s eye twitch again as he turned his emotions back on, then came out the anger boiling in his oil.

“I’m fine,” Moon said through grit teeth and pure anger, his tone coming out as offensive and threatening, and boy did that make Eclipse laugh louder.

“Sorry, sorry, couldn’t help myself,” Eclipse says, his fingers clenching his sides even tighter. “But seriously, you look like you need rest. I don’t think Lunar charged.” Actually, now that he mentioned it, his battery was at 12%. “Why don’t you sleep while I figure out how to unlock the cell, hm?”

“Why the hell would I trust you with me?” Moon says, his faceplate immediately beginning to burn up at what he had just said. And it seemed Eclipse was thinking the same thing, because his face showed one of amusement.

“You mean, ‘Why the hell should I trust you with my unconscious body’?” Eclipse laughs, and that makes Moon’s face burn up more. But that laugh was definitely starting to… please Moon. It sounded like his own, but also like Sun’s, and that made him happy. He thinks. He can’t quite understand what he’s feeling.

“Yeah, I meant that,” Moon responds in a more gentle tone, his faceplate cooling down. But Eclipse’s laughing had stopped, and that made Moon look away in shame.

“The reason you should trust me is because I’m a lot more gentle than my creator,” Eclipse gives in an answer to both Moon’s and his own question at the same time. “Also, I won’t do anything with it, I’ve already done all I needed to do with it. So, MOONDROP.EXE POWER OFF.” Eclipse claps his hands together, resting his cheek on it.

He had said that in Anthony’s voice, which meant he mimicked it, which meant he heard it. Which meant he knew Anthony had voice control, so he could say the commands instead of manually doing it.

And that’s why Moon’s optics shut off with his systems, and why he fell down onto the floor like a puppet with its strings cut.
