Chapter 1: The Beginning
Chapter Text
Izuku walked to where his notebook had been thrown, his mind filled with thoughts..,'' You fool... If I really did kill myself, you'd be sent to jail for instigating suicide.." he muttered, tears threatening to form in his eyes as he thought back to several years... Why? Why was he born without a quirk? Why was it that-- His thoughts were cut off as he reached the place he estimated his book to have fallen, because it wasn't his book he found- well, the book was there as well, but it was held in the hand of a young boy.. The boy seemed highly interested in his book, as Izuku stared at him, the boy glanced at his direction making him freeze. Half his face was covered in bandages, as was the rest of his body that was visible with his suit covering most of him and that large coat covering almost everything the suit didn't. "I- I-! W-well you s-see, that's my..." stuttered Izuku rapidly, trying to explain that he was only staring because it was his book the boy was holding, but the boy looked away.
"This... is your book, right? You want to be a hero or something?" asked the bandaged boy, making Izuku perk up. "A-ah.. Is it that obvious?.." he asked, looking to the floor... he did want to be a hero. It was all he ever wanted. But.. was it even possible for someone like him? Was it really possible to-- "I think you're doing well, then.. with the information stored in this book, you could very well replace that 'All Might' as number one soon after your debut." said the boy, matter of factly.
Izuku looked up at him, "Do you...do you really think so?" he asked, he didn't even know the boy, but at the moment he felt so desperate for approval.. for someone-- anyone!! He just needed to be told.. he could be a hero too. The boy didn't answer, he just slowly got up and walked over to Izuku, who, despite following his every move, didn't seem to be completely present, and when he got close enough..
"Here. Good luck." said the boy, putting the book in Izuku's hand before walking past him. For a few moments, Izuku couldn't move, couldn't even think of it, it was like his body and mind had disconnected, but as soon as he recovered, he spun around, "Wait!!--" he yelled, but the boy was no longer anywhere to be seen. Izuku deflated, feeling a sense of accomplishment as he walked, but it soon faded.. Did he really deserve that praise? He felt like a cheat, that boy had been so nice to him and yet Izuku hadn't even been able to tell him the truth-- tell him that he was placing his trust in the wrong person, because.. Izuku was quirkless.
He walked for a short distance, his heart heavy, but he shouldn't give up.. no, he couldn't!! He had to keep going, his head held high and his heart strong, he.. could be a hero!! He took large steps, stomping while feeding himself affirmations, but as he walked under a bridge, he heard a noise from behind him, but when he turned around.. a giant sludge monster!!! His mind was screaming at him to run, but he couldn't. Couldn't tear his eyes away, not at first.. When he finally got out of his trance, he turned to run, but regardless of how fast he ran, he found himself still in the same place, having not moved an inch, when he looked under himself to see what was going on... The monster had a hold of his feet, making him unable to move.
"Yes.. yes.. you'll make a fine disguise for me, child.. Now hold still, this will only hurt for about forty-five seconds~" said the monster, cackling as it went in attempted to take over Izuku's body completely. He pulled at the monster, unable to get it off.. it was fluid, though, and Izuku's fingers went right through it. He couldn't die here.. he couldn't!! He hadn't gotten to be a hero yet.. he hadn't even been able to try the entrance exam for UA!! He couldn't! He could--
"Texas.....SMASH!!" yelled out an all too familiar voice, though Izuku had no time to recognize it, having already been out cold.
He freaked out when he woke up, having met his hero, he felt like everything in the world.. until he left. In the end, Izuku couldn't let go of the opportunity and ended up tagging along with All Might all the way up to the roof of some building.
"Please, wait!"
"I will not!" replied All Might, a large smile on his face, as he was in a hurry to leave the building.
"Please--!! Just tell me!!-Can someone like me... Someone quirkless from birth like me... Can I become someone like you?!" asked Izuku, his eyes shut tight.. a silence covers the two of them, and when Izuku opens his eyes.. "What?! Who are you?!" he asked, surprised.
"It's me, kid. The symbol of piece..." replied All Might, before sitting down and lifting his shirt, "This.. is a wound I got multiple years ago. But ever since I got this wound, I've been utterly weakened.. I'm no longer able to stay in my hero form for more than a few hours.. and when those few hours are up, I look like this." He explained patiently to a wide eyed Izuku. After a short pause, he fixed Izuku with a sharp look and continued to speak, as he got up, "Being a hero, you're constantly exposed to danger and death.. it's no easy work, kid. A hero must always be ready to risk his life. So as much as I'd like to motivate you..."
And then silence. Silence, not because All Might had stopped speaking, but because Izuku knew what came next, and his ears wouldn't let him hear it. He couldn't even bring himself to turn around to look as All Might left. He felt hopeless, completely deflated.
As he walked through the streets after that, his pace slowed, his mind in another world... He thought back to the words of his teacher.. He had to start thinking seriously about his future. He stared at the cover page of his notebook-- Hero Analysis No.13-- biting his lower lip in frustration while using his left sleeve to wipe off the tears forming in his eyes. As he looked up, he noticed a commotion-- but before he could get closer, All Might's words flashed through his mind, and he turned away. But just as he started walking, he heard someone mutter something about the villain having captured a student, causing Izuku to spin around on his heels until he was facing... "Kacchan?"
Don't move. Stay put. You'll only make things worse. You'll only put yourself in danger. That's a hero's job, not yours. But... why was no one helping him then? He... just couldn't stand still. And so, Izuku Midoriya, a young boy, quirkless for as long as he had lived rushed past all the heroes, he slammed the sludge monster with his bag, taking the moment of stun as an opportunity to close distance with Kacchan. He pulled at the sludge. It wouldn't work, he had already tried. He knew it wouldn't, so why..
"hang in there, Kacchan!! I'll get you out!!" he yelled, and as he finally got some of the sludge off of Katsuki's mouth--"You damn Deku!! What do you think you're doing here?!"
"I- I don't know!! It's just-- I saw your eyes, that looked like they were pleading for help and.. and!! I just couldn't sit back and watch!!" he yelled, the monster was fully conscious once more, that temporary daze having worn off of it, but just as it moved to attack once more- "Detroit Smash!!"
The monster was blown to bits, and afterwards, Izuku was scolded for his reckless behaviour while Kacchan.. he was praised for his braveness. The heroes that weren't talking to either of them were spreading out around the scene, shoving the parts of the sludge villain that were scattered across the floor into trash bags, and eventually, the scene cleared out and everyone went home.
When Izuku finally came close to his home after all that happened, Katsuki ran up behind him "Hey, Deku!!"
Izuku turned around,"Kacchan?..."
Katsuki huffed, catching his breath. "I just wanted you to know, I didn't need you to save me back there!!"
And with that, he turned around and stomped away. But for some reason.. Izuku didn't feel too bad about it. It felt... bittersweet, in a way. He could never be a hero. But.. at least he was able to help Kacchan... at least--
"Young Midoriya."
ﮩ٨ـﮩﮩ٨ـ♡ﮩ٨ـﮩﮩ٨ـ
Dazai watched the entire scene from an electricity pole nearby. His stare was void, his posture casual despite the possibility of an electric shock. He wondered.. death by electric shock didn't sound too bad, did it? The reason he was on the pole was to eavesdrop on the conversation being passed between Izuku Midoriya and the number one pro hero.. Dazai hadn't known they would have such an interaction, and definitely couldn't have guessed any of the words that he would hear today... No, the only reason he was following Midoriya in the first place was to find out where he lived. When Dazai saw that notebook... 'Hero Analysis No.13'. He knew that boy would be his golden goose. He saw that the analysis book wasn't the first and knew he had to get his hands on the other twelve volumes. Of course, he could gather the information on his own- much more than the boy ever could but.. it's just easier this way. Besides, the residents of an area usually know how it works much more than those who landed about an hour ago. Usually.
In the end, following the boy revealed much more to Dazai than he could've figured out in such a short span of time, so.. all's well that ends well, right? Whatever.. One thing was for sure, though.. That 'Deku' boy, as the blondie had called him.. he was his ticket to an early mission end.
Once All Might left and the path was clear, Dazai got down from the pole himself, walking in the direction opposite to the way Midoriya was facing.
"Hey, you!!!"
Dazai cursed under his breath, turning around with a neutral expression, "I see we meet again."
"I.. I wanted to apologise to you. I lied."
Dazai raised an eyebrow," Oh? about what?"
"I'm actually... I don't have a quirk."
"You never told me you did, did you?''
Midoriya looked shocked, and started rambling, "W-well yeah, but I never told you I didn't and you probably assumed I did because you know about 85% of the population has quirks and--''
''I knew that you didn't have a quirk." said Dazai, looking somewhere in the left, his attention clearly not on Midoriya.
"You...what? How?''
"Until next time, Midoriya!" he exclaimed gleefully, and when Midoriya blinked, he was gone. Gone with the wind. Dazai was quick on his feet, and within a few seconds he was already multiple blocks away, far out of sight. Midoriya wouldn't find him again.
ﮩ٨ـﮩﮩ٨ـ♡ﮩ٨ـﮩﮩ٨ـ
Izuku only blinked for a second, and the boy was gone once more. Izuku looked around, searching for any possible place he could've hidden.. how did a person just disappear like that? A few moments after his disappearance, it started to rain-- no, rain was too light of a word to describe the fury of the water that raged down from the sky, within just a few moments it started raining much harder despite how sunny it previously was, and for some reason? Izuku wasn't surprised.
For some reason.. Izuku knew exactly why it was raining- or at least felt he did. The heavens seemed to be complimenting the inscribable aura of the bandaged boy.. yes, that boy... he was something else entirely. He knew Izuku's name without having known him at all... Izuku... he needed to know more.
And so, Izuku Midoriya rushed home as fast as he possibly could and rushed to his desk, when he went in he swore he could see a flash of black across the room, but he didn't mind that-- no, he turned on his computer and started searching 'brown haired boy covered in bandages in a suit' but there wasn't a single image of the boy he had seen earlier that day. Just a bunch of guys with brown hair, in bandages and.. wearing suits. Honestly, what did he expect? Rather than that, he saw a few ai generated images, but didn't even spare those a glance as he shut off his computer as fast as he turned it on.
Instead, he took out a completely different notebook and started drawing-- drawing the face of the boy, or as much of it he could remember. Once he got a sketch read, he started writing down as many details he could recall about the boy. The colour of his hair, the eye the bandage covered, the clothes he wore.. yet he couldn't remember the smaller details, such as the colour of his eyes and such.. Then finally, he wrote down everything about their interactions and the way he behaved. And with that, Izuku called it a night. He needed some shut eye.
ﮩ٨ـﮩﮩ٨ـ♡ﮩ٨ـﮩﮩ٨ـ
Dazai walked down the horribly, horribly bright streets of Mustafu holding the first five books of Izuku Midoriya's collection in his hands, holding them close to his chest. As he walked down the roads and as the cars honked angrily at the boy for recklessly crossing without waiting for the signal to turn green, he let his mind wander-- to the meeting he had with Mori a few days prior.

"Mori-san."
"Ah! Dazai-kun!! I see you've finally decided to show up! How long ago was it that I called you?"
"Even if I came here fifteen minutes ago, you would've only bored me to death with your stupid stories while the mission documents printed...'' said Dazai, boredly looking away. He couldn't care less about whatever stupid mission Mori had for him. At the end of the day, Dazai was just going to finish them, Mori will figure out he's back, give him the next mission, then repeat. In the end, nothing ever changed.
"Who's to say I won't just bore you now instead?"
Dazai looked up at the former doctor, his face contorted in what one could mistake as disgust. It wasn't disgust, but it wasn't far off.
"Mustafu." Mori said, and that one word was enough to set realisation in Dazai's face.
"No!"
"UA High School."
"Absolutely not!!"
Dazai rolled around the ground, rambling, complaining and giving Mori a headache. Maybe if he tried hard enough, Mori's head would get jumbled up and he'd forget about the stupid mission! Or, I'll do you one better, he could go into a panic and take one too many ibuprofen and just die! That was just wishful thinking. And unfortunately for Dazai, Mori needed to stay alive. He was a good leader, and Dazai didn't feel like taking over. Once Dazai calmed down, Mori handed him a red envelope-- the colour of chaos.... the colour of destruction. Meaning this mission wasn't going to end well. For Mustafu, that is. Mori sat behind his table, scalpel in hand--
"Now, can you tell me why you're going to Mustafu?"
"The hero raid teams and spies trying to set Yokohama 'free' by penetrating it's barrier."
"And?"
"The villain raid teams and spies trying to establish control over Yokohama."
"And what will your job be?"
"Asses the situation... and take action."
Mori gave him a soft smile, pleased with his answer, "That's good. You're getting smarter by the day, Dazai-kun!"
"I'm not going to compliment your teaching."
"I wouldn't dream of it."
"I don't wanna go."
"Good luck on your mission."

Lost in his thoughts, Dazai missed the car coming straight at him. His brain didn't register the car as a threat to his life, since the only real threat to Dazai's life was Dazai himself, and just as he was about to get hit--
Dazai's eyes slowly opened as the tight cloth that wrapped around him finally came loose.
"What, are you crazy, kid?! You were nearly run over because of your recklessness!" scolded the voice, in a tone that managed to sound totally concerned and yet totally uninterested at the same time. Dazai couldn't have cared less, and nearly turned around to leave until, " Are you Pro Hero Eraser Head?" and by the silence that followed, Dazai was practically screamed his answer. "Where do you live, kid?" he asked with a sigh, causing Dazai to raise an eyebrow. Don't adults usually tell you to not share your information with strangers? Well, the confusion must've been evident on his face, because the hero began to speak once more, "I'm a Pro, kid. I won't hurt ya."
Dazai didn't trust him, but did not want to go through running away all over again, and so he just pulled out his phone and showed his new living space to the hero, whose eyes flashed with recognition.
"What is it..?"
"I own that land."
Dazai blinked a couple times. Oh? How interesting.
"You moved in with your parents or something?"
"Just me."
This time, it was Erasure Head who blinked. Before he could say a word, though, Dazai began to speak himself, "I recently moved here, so that I could take the entrance exam for UA High School.." he said, waving his arms around as he spoke to add emphasis. By the look on the hero's face, he knew of UA. Well, everyone knew UA, but this particular man was probably a staff there or something.. a teacher, perhaps. The pro hero let out a sigh, "I'll take you to the house." he said, as if he were doing Dazai a favour.
"What? You're not coming to my house." retorted Dazai, before he could think... stupid Dazai, it would be good to have a stupid hero on your side!! But.. it would be bad to have people know where Dazai lived-- well, the hero already knew though, so... "I don't even know your name." said Dazai, and by the way he said it, not even Mori would be able to figure out he was just making an excuse to get friendly with the hero. Actually, Mori might... but that's not the point. This isn't about him. The hero blinked once more. Yeah, he did that a lot, huh? Dazai turned away, boredly to look at his nails instead.
"Aizawa Shoto."
Dazai looked up from his face, "What?"
"That's my name. Aizawa Shoto."
Dazai let out a sigh. He sure was resilient, that was for sure. He didn't mind it, though. The means didn't matter as long as the ends turned to his favour... nothing did.

Chapter Text
Ten months have passed.
Ten months since he came here, yet he hadn't left.
It's fine, Dazai didn't mind. He could compromise. But it would've been nice if Mori had told Dazai beforehand that he wouldn't be going straight to UA... Dazai had thought it would be an in and out mission, but leave it to Mori to screw even that up. Regardless, Dazai had spent the past few months running around the city, he had hacked into UA's database a few days after getting into the city-- to see how many people were applying, which, by the way, there were quite a lot of people. He saw people all the way from America applying to this school, having moved solely to take the exam. Rather than that, he recognised the names of some low ranking mafiosos on the list... he couldn't tell how many of them were spies for the mafia and how many were genuine hero wannabes. Considering the fact that Mori sent Dazai on this mission, he shouldn't have needed anyone else in the school. Then again, maybe the reason they're there is because of Dazai in the first place...
In the end, Dazai crossed out most of the names and figured out the names of those who were most likely to be in the class he planned to get into-- the most promising of the bunch being Katsuki Bakugo... hm... That boy was quite the interesting find, when Dazai looked into him, he found quite a bit of dirt. The kid was cocky, that's for sure. If his behaviour towards his peers ever came out, who knows the severity of the backlash he'll face? The people want a hero, not a narcissist. Yes, that was hypocritic of Dazai, but at least he had a reason for his self confidence (which is not the same as narcissism) other than having a 'cool superpower'.
"What is an ability but the reflection of it's user?"
That's what Mori always said when Dazai tried refusing a mission saying his ability wasn't suited for it.. The slimy doctor made it such that if Dazai refused, he'd be undermining his own capabilities. Calling himself useless and unable to adapt. Dazai wouldn't be able to care less, normally, but things had changed about a year after his joining in the mafia, when Chuuya joined. Yes, because now, if Dazai made out himself to be less, he'd be making out Chuuya to be more, which he absolutely wasn't!!! Dazai would rather eat puke than let himself be less than the slimy slug.
Then again, Hero Society was quite different from Yokohama's. While in Yokohama, a person's worth would be defined by how well they can do something and how much of it they can do in a given time, Mustafu seemed to work more around whoever has a better superpower. This leads to the quirkless minority, which Midoriya Izuku and this other kid Yuga Aoyama used to be part of who may have large potential to achieve great heights (well, at least Izuku could.) would never get a chance to showcase their worth, because without a quirk.. they didn't have any. So if Mori's saying was to fit Mustafu, it would go a little more like--
"What is a person, but a reflection of their power?"
Which honestly, was quite stupid.
Rather than this, quirk-havers (is 'haver' a word?) who constituted the majority of the Non-Yokohama population weren't exactly free from discrimination either.. no, they were split into two categories; villainous and heroic quirks.
Once again, the person themself mattered as much as a speck of salt in the ocean, what really defined a person in this 'Hero Society' was whether the person's quirk would be better suited for 'heroic duty' or 'villainous crimes' which really sucked, because truly, the nature of the quirk depends on the nature of the person who uses it. The fact that no one had realised this outside of Yokohama was the core reason why Hero Society could not progress and also why The villains always outnumbered the heroes. Unfortunately for Mustafu though, Dazai wasn't here to make the world a better place. He was here to make it worse. Much, much worse.
ﮩ٨ـﮩﮩ٨ـ♡ﮩ٨ـﮩﮩ٨ـ
Aizawa closed his eyes as his head rested on his left hand. The details of the exam had been finalised several months ago; it woud be on the February 26th, from 9:30 am to 11:40 am, lasting a total of two hours and ten minutes. They had already finalised all the details of what the practical exam would contain as well as the written too, so this meeting would be practically useless. Yet, they were still having it. He sighed, knowing a meeting so suddenly probably meant there was a problem.
Nedzu clasped his hands together with a 'bright' smile, if you could call it that. They'd been sitting in the stupid room for several minutes now, yet no one said a word, everyone clearly having been waiting for Nedzu to speak, since he had called them four weeks after all preparations and one week before the final checks they were meant to do.
"We've been hacked."
What a bomb. Even Aizawa's eyes went wide, yet Nedzu spoke of it so naturally you'd think he was talking about a recent fight between his favorite hero-- if he had one, against some villain. Chaos erupted and the room's sound level went up by at least 1000 decibels in a matter of seconds, Yamada, also known as 'Present Mic' accounting for most of it. Nedzu hushed them all, Aizawa included with a simple raise of his hand.
"No information was stolen, and the tech team are already looking into it, so it's fine. Rather than that, we've doubled the firewall now, so there won't be any more hacks."
While it was certainly evident that the board was relieved to hear that, the doubt still lingered through the minds of everyone in the room--
"How was UA hacked into in the first place?"
ﮩ٨ـﮩﮩ٨ـ♡ﮩ٨ـﮩﮩ٨ـ
The day of the UA exam had finally arrived and Dazai was feeling... quite excited, actually. So excited, he decided to do something that he would've never thought of, had this been any other day. It must've been surprising to Aizawa, which was the real name of Erasure Head, as well, because he was clearly confused at the boy's presence at his doorstep at four in the bloody morning... he'll get used to it, people usually did.
"Dazai? Is that you?" asked Aizawa, squinting his eyes. Clearly, he'd been asleep up until the point Dazai started aggressively banging on his front door, which he wouldn't usually do, but just picking the lock and going inside would be a crime, which while it wasn't rare for Dazai, he wasn't going to commit it so blatantly.
Dazai hesitated, considering the possibility of what would happen if he just told Aizawa he wasn't Dazai.. maybe he really could trick him, Aizawa was usually the one visiting Dazai to check if he was faring well and dropping off leftovers at his doorstep every now and then, though Dazai never actually ate them. The day Dazai ate someone's leftovers was the day the world would end. The idea in itself disgusted Dazai, he wouldn't even eat his own leftovers!! Not that he cooked much to begin with, most of his food came from Mori, or was just premade and kept in a can.
"Of course it's me." he replied after much, much consideration.
"Why are you here?"
"Is it really that unbelievable that I would visit you?"
"Yes, but why are you here at four in the morning, Dazai?" aske Aizawa, his eyes pleading with Dazai to stop messing around. Hence, Dazai came to the decision that he absolutely must mess around some more.
"Well, I was taking a stroll, and decided to come visit."
"At four in the morning?"
"Exactly."
"Dazai, why are you up so early?"
"Early? What does early mean, I wonder.. could it be--"
"Dazai don't give me your crap."
"It's UA exam day." said Dazai, finally answering Aizawa's questions. Somewhat.
"I know it is, but exams don't start until 9:30. Hell, even the arrival time is 9:00, kid."
"What's to say I wasn't just being concerned about my poor, lonely neighbour and came to check in?"
Aizawa raised an eyebrow. He clearly didn't buy it. "Child, buttering me up won't get you any help in the exam, if that's why you're doing this." he said, running a hand through his hair as though he had realised something. Dazai stiffened up, standing straighter, looking borderline offended, though he quickly changed his expression to that of a cocky teenager, a large grin on his face, "Who said I needed your help? I already know I'm gonna pass." Dazai's arrogant confidence made Aizawa pause for a moment, before he smiled.
"Alright then, bandages. Plus Ultra, go above and beyond. I expect to see you in my class."
Dazai was pleased with this answer, "You will. Though, I do have a favour." said Dazai, nonchalantly. Aizawa immediately grew suspicious once more, and so Dazai, who was quite done with explaining himself walked past Aizawa, inviting himself into the hero's home and walking straight to the small table right next to the entrance, picking up Aizawa's capture tape that lay on it with both hands, holding it how one would hold a baby.
"I want to have this." he said, continuing before Aizawa got the chance to get confused, "Consider it your way of.. wishing me luck? You know, maybe I'll perform better with the knowledge you're rooting for me..~"
"Didn't you say you were sure you'd pass?"
"Just give it to me.
ﮩ٨ـﮩﮩ٨ـ♡ﮩ٨ـﮩﮩ٨
In the end, Aizawa ended up letting Dazai have the capture tape for two reasons and two reason only; one, because he had more and really wanted to see how this would go and two, man, that kid was persuasive! Honestly though, Aizawa couldn't decide whether repeatedly asking for the same thing without an actual reason until the recipient of said request gave in really counted as persuading.
That didn't matter now, though. Right now, Aizawa was on the mezzanine floor along with the tech support group, overwatching things and keeping a lookout in case of intruders. So far, things were going pretty smoothly, so Aizawa decided to take a look at the students instead.
When he looked down he saw a girl with pink skin, a plain looking boy with green hair, another with yellow hair, some really young looking kid with red hair, a blonde boy with his legs crossed, a blue haired strict looking boy, and finally.. Dazai. While all his peers were focusing on the presentation, Dazai simply fidgeted with the capture tape around his neck. Was he really that confident? Honestly, his behaviour made him seem so sure of himself, so much so that even Aizawa would be disappointed if he failed. Surprised? No. But disappointed.
"Hey, get me this kid's files." he said to no one in particular, knowing someone would respond anyways. And someone did.
Some guy in a white jumpsuit with a blue cap gave him a laptop with Dazai's information out and honestly..? Aizawa was surprised. The boy's quirk was nullification. That would get him absolutely nowhere in the practical test, he'd need to rely on brute strength and tricks.. even then.. could he really make it into the Hero Course, despite every opponent in the field having a better quirk than him? Yes, in the case that they were fighting real people, Dazai may have been the strongest in the room but.. that's the problem with robots. They weren't real people.
ﮩ٨ـﮩﮩ٨ـ♡ﮩ٨ـﮩﮩ٨
After a painfully long speech from a painfully loud hero filled with painfully large amounts of useless information that could've been printed out on a pamphlet, the exams began. The written exam was a breeze. Most of the questions were based on morals and their answers could change from person to person, other questions from real subject like Biology, Geography and math were quite easy, but the questions from History, despite being quite easy were torturous to write, considering the answers to a good half of them were simply glazing Pro Heroes of different ages.
Now, it was time to commence the practical exams. Aizawa's tape had gotten him quite a few stares from other Pros who knew him, and while it was a benefit to entangle as many heroes into his existence as possible, that wasn't the main reason.. not at all. But that wasn't his only plan either.
As he walked into the arena, a man in a blue, green and grey bodysuit stopped him.
"Tablet." he said, his voice flat, his arm extended with an orange box of devices in his hand. This was to prevent sharing of the exam on social media as well as damage to the electronics.
"I'm using this for the exam." replied Dazai, in an equally empty tone before walking right past him as he lowered his hand. The man had looked ridiculous, but Dazai wouldn't comment on it.
He stood among the crowd in the arena, looking much calmer than his fellow participants and as soon as the signal was given, Dazai shot to his feet. He easily outran most of the other participants, at least those whose quirks didn't amplify their speed in any way. He used the capture tape to grab onto a robot and climbed onto it's back, as soon as he was on it, he used his tablet to hack into the robot's code and rewired it to follow Dazai's instructions which would be provided through the tablet. He increased the movement speed of the robot, allowing it to move faster than the other robots and used the tablet to control it's movement, staying on with the help of the capture tape he ended up tying around himself.
One robot, two robot, five robots, ten robots-- they all fell to Dazai's hand. Well, his robot's, but he was the one controlling it, so...
By the end of the exam, Dazai knew for sure he would've gotten as many points as needed, and just as he was about to sit down.. the Zero pointer. It was a useless kill, and while Dazai had fun with the robot hunting game he played, this was useless and Dazai was no longer interested but...
There were quite a few people running from the large robot, but being caught under the rubble instead... If Dazai were to defeat this robot, he would earn some respect from his future teachers who were likely watching, not to mention bragging rights which he could use against Chuuya...
And so he was set. Dazai would defeat the large robot.
He couldn't use his pet robot anymore, because it was heavily damaged. Besides, it would be much easier to fight the large robot when he was harder to see.
Dazai sprinted behind the robot, and as it began to turn, he grabbed onto a piece of metal of it, using the large screws to help him climb up and as he got to the control panel, he opened it as fast as he could, nearly falling off as it leaned backwards to turn, but when he finally got it opened, he ripped out 'random' wires as fast as he could. Though, any professional would be able to tell that Dazai's 'random wires' were carefully picked out. Yet, once he successfully disabled the bot, he didn't stop. He kept pulling at the wires, laughing maniacally as though he were unaware of his surroundings. Even as the robot slowly began to accelerate towards the ground. He kept pulling at the wires, till the robot hit the ground, and Dazai's head banged against it, causing him to bleed.
Dazai' senses returned and he fixed his composure, his neutral expression returning with not the slightest display of physical pain, rather than the fact he clutched his bandaged eye for a few minutes.
And after that, the exam really was over. The medical team came in for injured students, but as Dazai's turn came, he simply walked past the old woman. Her quirk wouldn't work on him either way, so trying was pointless. The UA staff who were outside or around the arena parted ways as he walked, or at least everyone who saw the exam play out did. Dazai was satisfied-- his ten months of sleepless research and information gathering came to use after all. Though, hacking the exam files was probably the easiest part among all of this. Yes, the true mission would finally start soon. And when it was done, Mustafu would tremble at the mere mention of Dazai Osamu... Mustafu would tremble at the mention of The Black Wraith of the Port Mafia.

Notes:
A little information about this au~~
Dazai is an executive of the Port Mafia, meaning that despite him being on a mission, he still had to complete his executive duties and a few small side missions, which required him to constantly travel between Mustafu and Yokohama.
Another little thing I came up with was that Yokohama and Mustafu are neighboring cities, their little boarder city being Suribachi city, which no one really goes to, because despite the poverty in the place, the heroes did not want to take the burden of all the quirkless people stranded in the area. Rather than that, there's a barrier, keeping outsiders away from Yokohama, only certain individuals are permitted to allow people in and out from each major organization, Dazai being one of them.Btw!! The reason Teruko is in the tags is because... well, the red haired girl mentioned in Aizawa's pov is her!!! The military unit of Yokohama is just as worried about the barrier being broken into than anyone else, cause genuinely no one wants the heroes in there lol... She was sent since she's the only one young enough, but in the end, she doesn't get in.
I'll give you more info in the next chapter, so keep reading till then!! Take care of yourselves-- constructive criticism is ALWAYS appreciated.
Love you lot always,
XOXO,
Dae.
