CHAPTER 1
The wolf’s cry
Wednesday had just been fencing with Bianca. She had won, much to her dissatisfaction she had to admit Bianca was just as good as her and they were nearly hand in hand in fencing.
The only reason Wednesday was maybe slightly better was that she had been taught by literal world class fencers.
As she was walking back, satisfied with her win. She also just wanted to get the sweat and blood off her from them, never using masks as Wednesday says ‘it gives risk and reward to the fight’.
She walked into the room and was greeted by the sound of someone crying. Enid. Enid was crying on her bed with her knees up to her chest and she was squeezing into them tightly. Which admittedly made Wednesday genuinely worried about her roommate.
“Enid” Wednesday says slightly softer than normal. The only response she got was Enid looking up and crying even more. “What happened you were doing alright 3 hours ago”.
Enid couldn’t get the words out despite trying her hardest. “I-my-my” was all she could get out before breaking out into another cry.
Wednesday was now concerned and worried but only on the inside. She walked over to the girl who was now crying harder than when she walked in. “Enid just breathe and tell me what happened”.
She sat down beside her. Two minutes of them sitting in this position while Enid was trying to regulate her breathing and stop crying.
“You want to talk about it now Enid”. The girl took a deep unsteady breath before saying “my mother called me, I told her about breaking up with Ajax and” Enid broke down again.
Wednesday knew what had happened her mother said something about how she’s going to be a lone wolf and Ajax was perfect for her.
Her mother always praised Ajax and Enid’s relationship and definitely thought now that Enid had a boyfriend that she wasn’t going to be as big of a disappointment.
Wednesday was now starting to let a few walls down and showing some worry, unable to stop the walls from falling. She put a hand on Enid’s shoulder “Enid you don’t have to tell me what she said I have a feeling I already know”.
Despite Wednesday not knowing a lot about emotion or how to comfort someone she really wanted to try her best to comfort her ‘gir-friend she’s just a friend’
Wednesday had always felt something that could only be described as a liking toward Enid which she called an ‘acquaintance bond’ despite never feeling like this to any of her other ‘acquaintances’ like Eugene, Bianca or Xavier.
She blames this feeling for living with the blonde wolf.
Enid at this point was starting to calm down. “Yeah you probably know what she said heh” Enid now looked up at Wednesday's black eyes which for a second looked unusually soft and almost looked like she might just care for her.
“Wednesday I’m okay you don’t have to sit with me anymore I know you're uncomfortable” Wednesday nodded seeming thankful to end that she could now go shower and be out of that situation.
Unbeknownst to Enid, Wednesday was willing to do more than just put a hand on her shoulder; she was seriously willing to hug the blonde all night long.
