Late night confession

Summary:

The Protagonist happens to have a conversation with coat guy when theyre both alone in the living room. They had already gotten used to the world outside burning down every second. It does not bother them. They both know surviving will be nearly impossible in a few weeks or maybe less. But.. they still want to talk about whats going on between them.

Why isnt coat guy harming people willingly? yeah the black void he has already killed a few but it was an accident. He didnt want it to happen. He is also suffering.

But most importantly.............. why does the Protagonist started having feelings for coat guy..? Its not supposed to happen. Is it mutual? Should he say something about it?

The MC is the man were playing as in game, so uh this is not YN (just wanted to type this out idk)

Notes:

This is my first fanfic... at first I wrote this in my native language but then used something like google translator to make it english. Sorry for any writing mistakes!!

Also im new to the game and couldnt understand coat guy 100%. Sorry!

Work Text:

The living room was dim, lit only by the soft glow of a single lamp in the corner, since sometimes the electricity went out due to... everything going on. Anyone, even a visitor with sharp ears could hear the streets outside groaning under the fires. It was depressing, hearing everything burning. Every house. Every memory. Maybe tonight, or some other night—the Protagonist’s house would be next. Who knows?

The Protagonist (or MC for short) sat on his worn out couch, eyes fixed on the coat guy, who sat on the other side of the couch. He was still freezing, even though the world outside was literally burning. Its hard to explain why. For some reason Protagonist started talking.

“You… you’re a Visitor,” MC said, voice barely above a whisper.
“And yet… you don’t act like it. It’s weird. You don’t… hurt anyone? unless…” He hesitated, unsure if he wanted say it out loud. “Unless you lift your shirt and show the, uh. black void.”

Coat guy’s gaze was steady and calm (or perhaps a little sad), but his voice carried a weight that made the room feel heavier with each pasing second. “Y-yeah.." he admitted with a sad look

“the… black v-void in my stomach. N-no need to act like i-its a secret. Y-you already know what i-it does..” He looked down for a moment, then back at MC, eyes sadder from the mention of his stomach void.

“It… kills. Y-you saw it w-with your own e-eyes. N-not intentionally, n-not because I want it t-to. But if I let it l-lose, i-it will take life. Innocent life. I-Im just... s-sorry. Really sorry."

The main character nodded slowly. "Yeah. It was pretty terrifying to witness." His hands clenched on his lap, yet he still didn’t look away. Almost as if he couldn’t. “...I know I should kill you, but… ugh.” he groaned, hiding his face in his hands. Knowing what he must do for his own safety. “I just… can’t bring myself to do THAT. To shoot you in the face. I don’t know why, but I just can’t. The thought of it angers me."

Coat guy gave a small smile, though it was subtle—his face didn’t give much away. His face muscles are weak. “You probably s-should. To p-protect yourself f-from me. I can’t c-control my body all t-that much.”

He sighed with a shiver, pulling his coat tighter around himself, still freezing. “The coldness… it n-never stops… it’s like t-torture. I’m freezing while others b-burn to death… it’s s-so confusing.” He looked away, not wanting to speak much about himself. Its embarrasing! "I already s-saw your gun... s-shoot me if you want t-to."

He did not fear death.it was a solution to end his never ending pain—but still, he wanted a quick death. He did not want to die slowly in suffering, though maybe that’s what he deserved for being an visitor. For being evil. He doesnt deserve a peaceful or quick death. He killed innocent lives because of his own mistakes. Thats what he believes.

They sat in silence. None of them spoke. The only sound was the faint hum of the lamp and the distant crackle of the burning city.

Their shoulders brushed...a subtle, almost accidental touch—but in the stillness, it felt intimate, comforting. Like its what both of them needed in the moment.

in that quiet, MC realized something undeniable: despite the confusing truth, despite the darkness in coat guy, he felt drawn to him.

His heart thudded not with fear, but with a strange, urgent warmth.

His mind screamed caution, but his body and instincts whispered something far older, far deeper.

He wanted him.

Really wanted him. But it all felt… wrong..? Forbidden. Very forbidden.
MC stared at coat guy, now truly seeing him perhaps for the first time. His body, clothes, hair, face, hands, legs. He didn’t feel the hatred he usually had for Visitors. He felt the love he once had for his deceased wife. He didnt know that could happen.

Maybe… maybe he had fallen for a Visitor. A dangerous yet strangely harmless Visitor. A cute Visitor. No, not just a Visitor… the coat guy. The man sitting next to him. For the first time, in that dimly lit room with the world outside collapsing, he letted himself acknowledge it. Acknowledge his own deep feelings.

He finally allowed himself to feel something other than dread and hopelessness.

Love felt incredible, even when it was clearly wrong. Wrong to feel at the wrong time.

Coat guy probably sensed the intense stare from the Protagonist. He has good senses. Their eyes met for a few seconds
“.....I-I’m… sorry. F-for the trouble. I shouldn’t have told you my secret that d-day. It messed up e-everything. Im sorry. F-forget it, okay? Or shoot me, or kick me out, or I'll leave--"

The Protagonist smiled warmly for a few seconds, feeling lighter than ever. “Nah. you did nothin' wrong.” He chuckled and the room finally felt a little bit alive again? Perhaps not exactly alive but definitely not dead anymore.

The silence stretched between them, but it no longer felt heavy. Instead, it was soft, intimate.. a fragile moment carved out from the never stopping chaos outside.

MC’s hand twitched almost unconsciously, and he slowy reached out, letting his fingers brush against coat guy’s. The contact was light and almost accidental, but the warmth that spread through him was wonderful

Coat guy’s eyes flickered toward his hand, and for a moment, something unreadable passed across his face—hesitation, curiosity, maybe even relief? MC can only guess. Again, its hard to read his emotions since his face muscles dont do shit.

Then he moved slightly closer, letting their hands rest together, one warm and human hand with a cold and deadly pale one. the simple touch carrying more meaning between the two man than words ever could.

“I… I can’t stop thinking about you,” MC admitted quietly, his voice trembling with a mix of fear and longing. He never talked this much with anyone before. “Even after knowing what you are… even knowing the black void on your stomach… I just… I want you. I.. crave you."

Coat guy’s gaze softened. “I… I d-didn’t expect… a-anyone to feel that way. A-about me. Not after knowing w-what I t-truly am.” His voice was low, almost breaking, but he didn’t pull his hand away. "I... I c-cant exactly hide my f-feelings now... can I?"

"Yeah." MC’s heart thudded painfully in his chest, he can hear his own heartbeat “I no longer care what you are" he whispered, leaning in a little closer to the coat guy. “I care about you. Only you. I can see the true you. I know youre innocent. Definitely more innocent than some humans i know.."

For a moment, they simply looked at each other. The human eyes met with the visitor eyes. They both already knew the feeling was mutual.

the world outside forgotten. The distant fires, the smoke, the danger, FEMA, crazed people—it all faded away. In that dimly lit old living room, there was only this: their shared warmth, the brush of their hands, the quiet acknowledgment of feelings that had no right to exist but did anyway.

Coat guy’s lips parted slightly, and then, slowly, he leaned closer. Their foreheads touched first, tentative, testing the boundary between. Feeling the cold skin against the hot one is.. intresting.

MC closed his eyes, letting himself feel the connection he now gained with the coat guy. Its all so nice. Their lips slowly touched. Their first ever kiss. An human kissing a visitor. Strangely Coat guy's lips are soft... so soft.. after a few seconds they pulled away.

“I-I…”

coat guy murmured, voice barely audible,

“I don’t know i-if I can… c-control myself around you. I-I dont want to h-hurt you. I-I dont. I-i cant.."

MC smiled softly, resting his forehead against his, knowing coat guy is terrified to accidently kill the first person he built a connection with. “dont worry. I believe that.. we can avoid that. We really can. Just stay with me, please. That’s all I need. I dont wanna lose you too.. I cant lose you... im willing to try US. And if anything happens to me, its probably my fault anyways.”

The world outside could burn, visitors could wait.

Everything can wait.

their hands entwined, hearts beating faster than the city’s chaos. Both knew what will happen now. THEM will be a thing now. Theyre both scared but want to do this.

Love had found a way, even here, even now..
