My Little Sunshine

Summary:

Spamton G. Spamton has nothing except for his little hatchling. He would do anything for his baby girl. Absolutely anything.

Chapter 1: Game Start

Chapter Text

This wasn’t part of the plan. Falling in love with Tenna was accidental. Yet, he did. Spamton G. Spamton, number one salesman, fell in love with Mr. Ant Tenna. From that relationship, he laid a Pipis. This one was different from the usual Pipis he laid before. Those were just unfertilized fodder to be used as bombs or food. This Pipis had more weight to it, an inherent warmth to it, and smelled like him as well as Tenna. So, when everything falls apart, Spamton keeps this Pipis close to him. Places the blue egg on his chest and keeps it in place with a soft red blanket he swiped before leaving TV World. Six years have passed like this. Spamton running around, hiding from other Darkners, all while trying to keep his egg safe. He found that he was treated slightly kinder when he had the Pipis strapped to his chest with what remained of his feathers fluffed up to the max. His puppet body was definitely different, but a few old traits remained. He couldn’t help but be thankful for it.

Four years ago, the egg hatched. A small, chirping baby pushed her way out of the cracked shell. She was a tiny little thing with fuzzy, white downy feathers and a long-pointed nose only adding to her cuteness. An electric current seemed to buzz underneath her skin which gave her a slightly golden glow. That was where the former Addison got her name from, little miss Goldie. Spamton adored his baby. However, that didn’t erase the painful similarities the little baby girl had with Tenna. Two tiny antennae on her head, an HDMI cord tail, tiny fangs, and no visible eyes. Spamton learned to live with the pain of that. Even as Goldie grew older and she started to mimic the facial expressions of the father she had never met. He was…okay to live like this, running his garbage shop in the alley with his little daughter by his side. He didn’t like that his baby girl was living in the trash but what other choice did he have? It’d take a miracle for his circumstances to change.

Goldie scampers through the streets of Cyber City with her antennae twitching on occasion. She can smell new people, new monsters, and that meant new customers! It’s been so long since something new happened, this is so exciting! Her tail sways eagerly as she tracks down the new smells. Three figures come into view. Prince Ralsei, a common customer for her, is walking in between a blue-skinned human and a purple lizard monster. Goldie chirps before rushing up to the group with a little hand-drawn pamphlet, “Hello Mr. Ralsei! You’ve got friends!” Ralsei smiles sweetly back, “H-hello, Goldie. Yeah, t-the human Lightner is named Kris, and the other Lightner is named Susie.” Goldie hums before thrusting her paper towards the lady named Susie, “Come to my and my daddy’s shop! Uh, please.” She tacks the ‘please’ on, recalling her daddy teaching her about manners. Even without visible eyes, the group could practically feel Goldie’s eyes go wide with pleading, “Pretty please? We don’t have much but we gotta have something you’ll want.” The Lightner, Kris, steps forward with an unreadable expression and looks over her small form.

Her golden glow dims under the scrutiny before Kris gives a tiny smile and takes the pamphlet, “…okay. We will.” Goldie returns to full shine with a big toothy smile, “Really?! Okay, okay, I gotta go help Daddy set up the shop, see you soon!” With that, she runs away with small sparks coming off her heels. She can’t help it when she’s this excited. Taking shortcuts by shrinking and growing back to normal, she bursts into their dumpster home. Goldie can feel her feathers poof out from static electricity as she shouts, “Daddy! New customers are coming! C’mon, we have to set up!” Spamton grunts when he stands up, his joints clicking angrily, then he slowly walks over to where Goldie is shoving items into old plastic shopping bags. Although his body is in pain, his daughter’s enthusiasm never fails to make him perk up, “[Alright, alright, alright!], W-WHAT’S GOT YOU SO [VRRRRROOM] UP, SUNSHINE?” Still, he helps pack even as he asks the question. He didn’t have the heart to tell his baby ‘no’ most days. Not when she asks for so little.

Goldie spins around to point at her daddy with a victorious smile, “Mr. Ralsei brought new people to the city, and they said they would visit our shop! Oh…I hope they can follow my map.” She shrinks a little at the realization. Spamton pats his daughter on her head, “I CAN [100% guaranteed!] THAT THEY’LL [I will find my way~~].” Goldie perks back up and grabs one of the bags. She glances over her shoulder with a slightly sad smile, “I know you’re having a bad pain day, Daddy. I can get all the inventory to the shop while you walk over.” He raised such a sweet girl. Spamton ruffles her feathers, chuckling at her protesting chirp, before picking up a bag, “NONESENSE [princess], I CAN [pull your weight!] AND HELP SET UP. IT’S OUR SHOP.” Normally, Goldie would zap-jump to get to places faster, but she walks at a steady pace to allow her daddy to keep up. It took a few minutes to arrive and, at her insistence, Spamton takes a seat behind the counter while Goldie arranges their inventory.

The door creaks open. Only one Lightner comes in, but Spamton recognizes this Lightner even if they are much older now, “K-KRIS, YOU [little sponge], I SEE YOU’VE [new discovery] DARK WORLDS.” Goldie pops her head up with her tail wagging, “Mx. Kris! You came just like you said you would! Hang on, I gotta grab my stool. Be right back.” She runs off deeper into the old tunnel with audible vibrations coming from her excitement. Her puppet father chuckles, “SO [Full of energy!], AIN’T SHE?” Spamton’s face goes grim, “KRIS, I NEED YOUR HELP. BUT YOU CAN’T TELL GOLDIE.” Kris arches an eyebrow but gestures for him to continue, “LISTEN. IN THE [Deep Abyss] OF QUEEN’S [Mansion]. [[A Great Deal]] IS WAITING For [[A LimiTed Time Only!]]. A HEAVEN-PIERCING [[Workout-Ready Body]]. [[Designed BY The Classics You’ve Come To Expect ©1997]]. KRIS THAT [Little Nipper] IS OUR [One-way Ticket] TO MAKE YOU [Big]. MAKE ME [Big]. IN A WAY THAT I CAN FINALLY GIVE MY DAUGHTER A GOOD LIFE. THE WAY IS LOCKED BY [High Quality Encryption]. YOU WILL NEVER GET INSIDE WITHOUT A KEYGEN. [BUY] THE KEYGEN FROM ME, UNLOCK THE BASEMENT, AND GET THAT EmptyDisk.”

Kris pauses with a flat face, “…fine, but I need you to tell me about the Knight.” Spamton hums, “THE KNIGHT, HUH? KRIS, DID YOU KNOW THAT THE KNIGHT…No, I’m sorry! I’m sorry! I didn’t mean to—AAAAAAGH!” Kris flinches as the puppet man glitches uncontrollably. Some voice clips, of Spamton’s real voice, slip through with soft whimpers of “Mike…” and “…can anyone hear me? Help…”. His glasses fuzz out with static. The Human Lightner stares in shock as Spamton collapses with his glasses completely black. They startle at the sound of quick little feet and a loud gasp, “Daddy! Oh, not again!” Goldie rushes past Kris to pull her daddy’s head into her lap. She frowns as she looks up at Kris with furrowed brows, “I’m sorry. Daddy’s been having more glitches and seizures lately. Um, I can sell you stuff still. Let me just get Daddy comfortable.” Kris silently moves to help Goldie. Once Spamton is tucked into a blanket with a pillow, Goldie happily sells the Lightner a Keygen and a Bowtie. Waving them off, the young girl puts the inventory away then uses her power to zap the little family back to their dumpster home. She couldn’t wait to get to see those Lightners again.

Chapter 2: Blue Bird

Summary:

Banner "Blue" Addison isn't sure how he can help, but damn he's got to try.

Chapter Text

Uncle Banner is kind enough to allow Goldie and her daddy to stay with him whenever a seizure happens, so that’s where she heads next after grabbing their few belongings. She’s a little tired from using her zappy powers so much but she still hums happily as she marvels at the dark dollars she earned today. Blue feathers in the corner of her vision draw her attention away and she shakily smiles, “Is Daddy gonna be okay?” Uncle Banner pats her head with a small chirp, “Yeah, he’ll pull through with some more rest. I wanted to ask you a question. I’m going to ask your dad too, but I wanted to ask you first.” With a little help from the older Addison, the pair get the money secure then sit together on a comfy sofa. Uncle Banner takes a deep breath before smiling, “I was thinking that you and your dad could move in with me for a little while. I know it’d be a bit of a tight fit, but we could figure something out and…well, what do you think about it? You could have your own room with toys and clothes. It—oh, Goldie.”

Like the rest of the Addisons, her blue uncle wilts at the sight of tears starting to fall down her face. Goldie shakes her head furiously, “I don’t wanna! Home is home! Even if it smells and is small because, because it’s where Daddy takes care of me! Where he loves me! If we move…no, I like my home cause Daddy’s always there for me.” A very gentle smile curls onto Uncle Banner’s face at her forceful nod during her last statement and he runs a hand through her fluffed-up feathers. His voice is soft and careful yet tinged with amusement, “Goldie, do you think that your dad won’t love you anymore if you move?” She looks down at her fluffy hands. Tiny, sharp claws poke out against her will as she nuzzles into her uncle’s side with a small nod, “Yeah…” Uncle Banner chuckles while pulling her into a hug, “Oh, songbird. No matter where you go or how old you get, your dad’s going to love you. He adores you. I don’t think anyone in town can resist your adorable self.” He taps her nose with a finger to get her giggling.

A small yellow flower pops out of Goldie’s nose. She giggles, swaying her feet around, before settling down into a nervous look again, “It’s gonna be new. That’s scary.” Uncle Banner gives her a little squeeze, “Yeah, change can be very scary. But you’ll have your dad, you’ll have me, your other aunts and uncles, why you’ll be drowning in support!” Goldie tilts her head, “Mhm but…I dunno if Daddy will like it. He seemed really sad when you asked last time.” Her uncle rears back with a gasp, “How do you—never mind, that’s not important right now. Look, it does make your dad a bit sad to have to ask me for help. He likes being strong and tough, which makes it hard to ask for help. But being able to ask for help is important. Your dad will feel a lot better knowing that you’re somewhere safe and warm with plenty of food even if he’s sad for a little while. Okay?” Not really, but Goldie nods her head. As long as her daddy is alright, in the end, it didn’t matter where they were. She jumps off with a small mumble, “I’m gonna change ‘nd brush my teeth.”

Banner keeps a smile on his face until Goldie is out of sight. Then, he deflates with a heavy sigh. He gets up to wander back to the spare room where his youngest brother rests on the bed in there. Spamton is sitting up looking a bit dizzy and in pain yet lucid again. Banner sits down next to him, tapping his fingers against each other, before sighing out again, “No doubt she’s your girl, Spam. Anxious, always looking for all the angles to a situation, always looking for the reactions of the adults around her…” Spamton snorts, “YEAH, SHE’S A [Need a Sharpie?].” They sit together in silence for a few awkward minutes. The blue Addison scratches the back of his neck, “I know you feel awful about not being able to provide Goldie with a place to live or enough food. And, and I know you blame yourself for being in this…financial situation. But that hatchling loves you so much, Spam. She knows she’s loved too. So, I don’t think you failed. I think you need help, and we can help you improve your situation. Even if you don’t want to, I know you would for Goldie’s sake. So please…abandon whatever wild scheme you’re planning and lean on your family. Haven’t we, haven’t I proved myself to be trustworthy again?” Spamton puts his face into his hands with a sigh, “YOU HAVE. THAT’S [ain’t my problem!]. NOT [you, you, you~].”

The older sibling shifts on the bed to look better at his baby brother with a soft gaze, “Then what is the problem? I know there are some things you physically can’t say, so I’ll do my best to understand.” Spamton doesn’t respond to his brother right away. His face twists in thought and concentration. Then it crumbles as tears start to rush down his cheeks. He chokes out some words, “I CAN’T [lean on me~]. [Lovely rays of sunshine] IS MY [pipis]. WHAT KIND OF [Parental Unit] AM I IF I CAN’T PROVIDE? I’M A [grown ass man], [fly your banner]! I HAVE TO [do or do not, there is no try]. FOR MY [little princess]. BESIDes…the others may love Goldie, but I doubt they love me. Same with Ten. They’ll abandon me again. I don’t think I could survive that again.” Banner stiffens as Spamton’s true voice leaks out from underneath the fake salesman one. A hand unconsciously lifts to cover his mouth as both brothers start to cry. He grabs Spamton and hauls his baby sibling into a hug.

Banner clings to Spamton, trying to think of something or anything to say. The sound of a door creaking open makes them pause. Then a fuzzy, warm body wiggles in to join the embrace. Goldie pops up from between their arms with a small smile on her face, “Uncle Bannnnnner, can you tell a happy story? I wanna be all done crying.” Spamton exchanges a glance with Banner before a barely-there smile curls on his face, “HOW ABOUT [an origin story]?” The tiniest Addison tilts her head, “Origin story?” Banner combs his fingers through her hair as he responds, “Origin means the beginning of something. So, an origin story would be how someone or something got started. I think your dad means the story of how he and your…Papa met.” Goldie perks up with a squeak and a flower blooming on the end of her nose, “I have a Papa?” Spamton takes a deep breath before giving a shaky smile, “YEAH. I THINK, IT’S TIME, YOU MEET HIM. HE WAS, UH, MAD AT DADDY. SO, I WAITED. WE’LL GO, WITH LIGHTNERS, OK?” Goldie nods happily but wilts a bit when her daddy falls back with an exhausted sigh. Talking so much without ads takes a lot of energy. The small family adjusts themselves in the nest on the bed before Banner starts to recount the story he was told over ten years ago.

Notes:

A little child psych for you folks, children Goldie's age tend to have very linear thinking patterns and still slightly egocentric views. That's why she connects Spam's love to where they live as that's all she's ever known.

Chapter 3: NEO Blues

Summary:

The Spamton NEO fight is here and nobody is having a good time

Notes:

I hope this giant chapter was worth waiting for
It's my own personal headcanon that Spamton is corrupted by bad coding his old "benefactor" downloaded into him and he loses his mind when put into the NEO suit
He slowly gets his mind back as more wires are snapped

Chapter Text

Spamton finally has it. The NEO suit. All Kris has to do is upload his code into the body and he’ll finally be a winner. He’ll finally be a good provider for his little girl. He made sure Goldie was distracted by Susie and Ralsei while he got Kris’s help. She didn’t need to see this. Didn’t need to see the level of desperation her father had fallen to. This wasn’t the same as stealing soft blankets to nest with when he first laid the pipis or when he went through with breastfeeding Goldie for her first few years to keep her as nourished as he could before it stopped being enough. Taking the NEO suit meant painting himself as a target, an official enemy of Queen and the Swatchlings, but he needs this suit. Maybe he could run away with his daughter after. Castle Town is small and nice. Anyways, Spamton can feel the disc being slotted into the suit. It was time.

TIME?
TIME FOR WHAT?
WHY WERE THERE STRINGS?
SICKLY GREEN, GLOWING STRINGS
HE HATED THEM
HAS HATED THEM SINCE THEY FIRST FOUND HIS BODY OVER TEN YEARS AGO
THEY TANGLE AROUND HIM

WAIT, HE HAS A DAUGHTER?
NO, THAT CAN’T BE RIGHT (wait)
HE HAS NOBODY
NOT EVEN TENNA
NOT ANYMORE

T-THOUGHTS HARDER…PROCESSING…

NEW MISSION LOADING: GET THE HUMAN SOUL
REWARD: YOUR FREEDOM

Kris waits for Spamton in the tunnel. They rub the back of their neck as a mild sense of danger rises in their chest. Susie and Ralsei aren’t far. They can call out for their friends if they need to. A sudden shadowy figure drops down from the ceiling. Kris leaps back before they can be hit. They stare up as the suit’s head alters itself. Neon green, almost toxic looking, strings attach to every limb. That sense of danger intensifies. This creature looks like Spamton except there’s something wrong or missing. There’s no sense of mild lucidity. No subtle gentleness. Absolutely none of that odd softness on the puppet’s face that appears whenever the Fun Gang or Goldie came into view. Like a fondness that was painful for Spamton to experience. There’s only blank mania left. The glasses perched on his nose suddenly shine as the creature speaks, “HOLY [[Cungadero]] DO I FEEL GOOD…HERE I AM!! KRIS!!”

The creature spreads its wings with a slightly feral grin, “BIG, BIG, [[BIGGER AND BETTER THAN EVER]]!” Its head twitches in a painful looking spasm before righting itself, “HA HA HA … THIS POWER IS FREEDOM.” Who was this thing trying to convince? Was it himself or Kris? It continues on, “I WON’T HAVE TO BE JUST A PUPPET ANY MORE!!!!” It pauses then looks away, “OR…so…I…thought.” A hint of a normal voice came through before it shrieks, “WHAT ARE THESE STRINGS!? WHY AM I NOT [BIG] ENOUGH!? It’s still DARK…SO DARK!” Kris is careful to not move. Could this creature not see? No, that doesn’t seem like what it’s referring to. They dart backwards as the puppet creature floats forward on its strings even as it calls out to them, “KRIS. KRIS. KRIS. KRIS. THAT’S RIGHT. YOU. I NEED YOU. TO BE BIG. WITH ME. VERY VERY BIG. SO BIG WE’LL STAND UP TALL AND SEE PAST THE DARK. STAND UP WITH OUR HEADS IN THE CLOUDS AND LOOK INTO H E A V E N.”

Cold stone presses against Kris’s back. They slid down to the floor in a weak attempt to get away. Spamton wasn’t here anymore. Not in all this madness. Especially not pointing a weaponized arm at them. The creature speaks with desperation leaking in every word, “I JUST NEED THAT LITTLE, [[SOUL]] Y O U HAVE.” Broken, bitcrushed laughs echo in the tunnel as a white light grows in the barrel of its weapon-hand. A Rude Buster attacks comes rushing in, damaging the creature, and causing it to retreat up into the dark ceiling. Susie, Ralsei, and little Goldie come running to their side. Susie yells, “Kris! The hell was that weirdo!?” Ralsei jumps in with a gentler voice, “Kris, we were worried about you, so…” Goldie doesn’t miss a beat jumping in for her turn, “Where did Daddy go?” With a loud thud, the wall behind Kris falls away and that manic voice is back, “KRIS!!! YOU HAVE [Friends]!? WHY DON’T YOU TELL THEM ABOUT MY [3 for One Specil]! TODAY, THE WHOLE FAMILY CAN TAKE A LITTLE [Ride Around Town]…”

Goldie mumbles a soft “daddy?” before all four were thrown up by roller coaster carts shaped like Spamton. The tiny Addling ends up in a cart with Kris and is one of the only light sources in the dark tunnel. That voice comes crackling through again, “[Attention Customers! Clean up on Aisle 3!] SOMONE LEFT [There] SOULS, [Lyeing Around. . . . . .].” Bright blue Spamton heads appear, laughing, before the Soul turns and changes to yellow. It easily shoots through each attack. Suddenly, the lights flicker to reveal that creature hanging in front of them all. It cackles, “Kris!?!? WAS THAT A [BIG SHOT] JUST NOW!? WOW!!! I’M SO [Proud] OF YOU, I COULD [Killed] YOU! [Heaven], are you WATCHING? IT’S TIME TO MAKE A VERY [Specil] DEAL…” It gives that unnerving laugh again before starting an Encounter. Goldie shrinks down and speaks with a trembling voice, “Daddy…? No…my daddy’s not a meanie. My daddy’s not scary.”

Spotting her distress, Kris takes off their cape and covers Goldie in it before moving onto giving a command. Each of them snaps a wire. The thing speaks, “KRIS! ISN’T THIS [Body] JUST [Heaven]LY!? 3X THE [Fire] POWER. 2X THE [Water] POWER. AND BEST OF ALL. FLYING [Heads]!” The Soul disarms the attack. More snapping wires. “WE’LL TURN THOSE [Schmoes] AND [Daves] INTO [Rosen Graves]. THOSE [Cathode Screens] INTO [Cathode Screams].” Goldie shakes her head with tears running down her face. Just yesterday, her daddy was talking about taking her to meet her Papa and becoming a family again. Why did he change his mind? She hiccups when Kris puts a hand on her head. It’s a little comforting. They snap more wires, how many more could there be? The thing spasms, “KRIS, DON’T YOU WANNA BE [Part] OF MY BEAUTIFUL [Heart]?! OR DID YOU NEED A LITTLE [Specil Tour]?” Goldie winces and hides behind the front of the coaster cart. Even her daddy’s heart didn’t look right.

Sickly green wires snap this time without the tiny Addling’s help. It keeps talking, “ALL YOU GOTTA DO IS [Big]. THEN WE’LL BE THE ONES MAKING THE [Calls], KRIS. WHAT? WHAT? ARE YOU SERIOUS!? IT’S FOR YOU.” A phone attack? It reminds Goldie of the black phone at the store. The one her daddy swears is always ringing but she never hears. At least the exploding pipis aren’t new. The NEO calls out again, “IT’S CALLING, KRIS…MY [Heart]…MY [Hands]…” Snap a few more strings. “KRIS! CAN YOU REALLY LOOK IN MY [Eyes] AND SAY NO!? LOOK IN MY [Eyes], LOOK IN MY [Nose], LOOK IN MY [Mouth].” Ok, this attack is just straight up weird. Goldie curls up into herself further. She can see Mr. Prince Ralsei and Ms. Susie look at her with worried eyes as her glow dims a bit. Still, they snap wires. Then this daddy imposter speaks, “I CAN’T STAND IT!!! I THINK I’M GONNA HAVE A [HeartAttack]!”

How long can this go on? Goldie sobs hard enough to shake her tiny body. She just wants her daddy back. The Fun Gang remains resolute, snapping more and more wires. Its screechy voice is loud in the tunnels, “KRIS, I’LL EVEN GIVE YOU A [Free Value], [Die Now] AND I’LL THROW IN [50] [Bullets] FOR FREE!” Goldie and Ralsei do a healing spell for Kris and Susie. It won’t stop begging, “KRIS. IF YOU GIVE ME THAT [Soul] I WILL GIVE YOU EVERYTHING I HAVE. I WILL GIVE YOU [3 Easy Payments of $9.99!]” More wires snap. It seems to be getting even more desperate, “[Friends]!? KRIS!? WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT!? YOU DON’T NEED [Friends]!! I CAN MAKE MY HANDS INTO PHONES!!!” Now that she thinks about it, those strings look a little bit like phone wires. Goldie whispers this thought to Kris. They seem tense when they hear this yet cut another wire on time.

“DON’T YOU WANNA HELP YOUR OLD PAL SPAMTON? KRIS!! THINK!! WHAT ARE MY [Eggs] GOING TO DO!?” Kris’s exposed eye darts down to look at Goldie before looking away with some shame. What? This was her daddy? And her daddy did this for…her? More snapping wires. “BUT KRIS, IF YOU REFUSE, THAT’S YOUR CHOICE. I CAN’T FORCE YOU. I CAN ONLY [Kill] YOU [50-percent faster than similar products] OR [No Money Back!].” The roller coaster is getting faster. Everyone on the carts struggles a little bit with their balance but still snaps more wires. It seems to be getting antsy, “KRIS!!! TAKE THE DEAL!!! TAKE IT!!! DO YOU WANNA BE A [Heart] ON A [Chain] YOUR WHOLE LIFE!?” Yeah, her regular daddy did not have three hearts. This form is just all wrong, and Goldie did not like it at all. Kris whispers down to her that they were getting close. Only a couple more strings to go. She can only hope they’re being honest.

“OR…DID YOU WANT TO BE…Did you wanna be…WHAT!? IT’S FOR ME!?” Attacks explode from the phone, yet the creature made no move to dodge. Wires snapping was becoming a very familiar sound as was that odd voice. It seems to be getting softer? Less violent? “KRIS…I WON’T FORCE YOU. I CAN’T. I CAN’T FORCE YOU. BUT JUST LOOK, KRIS. LOOK AT THE [Power of NEO] AND ASK YOURSELF. WELL, DON’T YOU? DON’T YOU WANNA BE A [Big Shot]!?” The towering creature got so close. Goldie couldn’t help letting out a terrified scream. Her scream echoes loudly in the tunnel. It makes the creature pause, hesitate, before letting out a garbled, “S-sunshi—AH!” It goes back to attacking. The small Addling puffs out her feathers and wipes her tears away. They had to be close if her daddy was starting to remember her! More wires snap until only one remains. A single green string holding up the NEO suit. “[The Smooth Taste Of] NEO…” The Fun Gang prepares to snap it as the ride finally slows down. It cries out, “WAIT!!! [$!?!] THE PRESSES! MY…MY [Wires]…THEY’RE ALMOST [Gone]!? KRIS…YOU…YOU’RE [Gifting] ME MY [Freedom]!? KRIS…AFTER EVERYTHING I DID TO YOU!? AFTER ALL THE [Unforgettable D3als], [Free KROMER] I GAVE YOU. YOU’RE FINALLY REPAYING MY [Generosity]!?”

Goldie tilts her head to the side. That…wasn’t how things went. Maybe the weird suit made her daddy misremember stuff. It chitters, “KRIS!!! I UNDERSTAND NOW!! THE GREATEST DEAL OF ALL!!! [Friendship]!!! KRIS!!! MY DAYS AS A [Long-Nosed Doll] ARE OVER!!! CUT THAT [Wire] AND MAKE ME A [Real Boy]!!” Goldie’s antennae are drooping from exhaustion. Her only current comfort being Kris’s hand running through her feathers soothingly like an older sibling comforting their baby sister. Susie and Ralsei both look weirded out but are relieved that the fight is done. The creature tilts its head up, “ARE YOU WATCHING, [Heaven]!? IT’S TIME FOR SPAMTON’S [Comeback Special]! AND THIS TIME…I LIVE FOR MYSELF!!! NO…MYSELF AND MY [Friend(s) and baby girl]!!! HERE I GO!!!! WATCH ME FLY, [MAMA]!!!” The last wire is cut. The suit collapses. They arrive at the end of the ride. Susie picks up Goldie in her arms and carries the tiny Addling to the last room where their little shop was.

She whimpers quietly when they find her daddy hanging by old, rotted telephone cords. Spamton seems to be in a daze before speaking softly, “It seems after all I couldn’t be anything more than a simple puppet. But you three…You’re strong. With a power like that…maybe you three can break your own strings. Let me become your strength.” With that, her daddy shifts into his glasses form and floats into Kris’s inventory. Goldie blinks, her face wet and sore from crying, “That’s the most Daddy’s talked normal…can I take a nap in your pocket too, please?” Kris smiles with a nod. Goldie shifts into a long HDMI cord before settling in the Lightner’s pocket. Today was too eventful to talk about just yet. Her and Daddy need to sleep before they can talk. Little did either know that things were yet to come to further complicate things.
