Chapter Text
Diluc was not prepared to be an uncle.
Who would be?
The kid had his mother's blond hair and Kaeya's star-pupiled eyes.
Beautiful.
"So, what was your name again?"
The child smiled.
"My name is Diluc."
* * *
So the story, or rather the story of the future goes like this...
Kaeya married Jean and they lived happily ever after.
Everyone was happy, except Diluc as usual. He died fighting some Fatui, too dumb as always to rush into battle without waiting for others to help him.
"Too dumb?" Diluc asked again.
"Father's words not mine."
Yep. Typical Kaeya.
"And you're here because...?"
"Daddy misses you and I want to help."
Help meant meddling with fate. Turns out traveling in time runs in Kaeya's family and the bastard hid that, as he always hides the truth.
"Why didn't Kaeya save father if he can..."
"There is a limit to traveling back and forth. Dad can travel for a few days back."
- And you?
"It's chaotic. I am not a fullblodied Khaenri'ahan, so I don't control my powers. I can sometimes travel minutes before, sometimes years."
"So you can't save my father?"
"It's too risky, I can die from exhaustion. I barely made it to your time and I can barely feel my body."
"Understood... So, you're here to save me?"
Diluc Jr. only smiled.
"I am here to love you"
