Date Night

Summary:

Just a simple date. Nothing to it right. (takes place a little bit after book 10)

Work Text:

Olivia looked herself over for the hundredth time in front of the mirror..

She wore a white long sleeve blouse and a black knee length skirt. Her hair was its usual self as she did a twirl around the full length mirror.

“Livia you look amazing.” Noelle said as she and Angie had been watching her frit over the littlest thing of her outfit.

“But he’s a duke. I have to look presentable to be by his side. More so than ever.”

“You know he doesn't care what others think of him and if they dared to say it then Leon will be the least of their worries.” Angie said.

“Still what do you think he’ll wear?”

“Probably a plain old shirt and pants. I doubt he’ll go all out.”

“You don’t think I’m worth it?”

Angie gave Noelle a look who gave a terrified surrendering look

“Hey! I didn't mean it like that. Just think about it. He only dresses like he’s supposed to when the king summons him. With us it’s more casual. Like he’s relaxed. I say that’s a good thing!”

“As much as I would’ve liked to reword it, she's right. Just act like your usual self. You look beautiful by the way.”

Angie smiled as she walked towards her and placed her hands on her shoulders.

“You really think so?”

“I know so.” Angie gave her a peck on the lips.

Livia’s face glowed from Angelica's actions.

“And I know Leon will too.”

“I hope you know it’s Livia’s and Leon’s date night.” Noelle added as she watched the two.

“I am aware but she needs the pep talk.”

“Then keep it in your pants then!.”

“So, I really look beautiful?” Livia questioned again.

“Liv for the last time you look amazing.”

A knock on the door made Livia’s heart race.

“Ah… Livia, I’m here.” Leon said aloud.

Livia felt her feet grow cold.

Angie and Noelle both got behind her and helped her to the door.

Livia was too stunned at the sudden action

Angie was quick to turn her around and gave her a once over, looking for anything she may have missed.

“So I wasn’t ready?”

“Hush.” Angie said before turning her back to the door.

“You're good.” With that she opened the door to be surprised.

Leon was dressed in a more appropriate attire. A black six button double breasted suit, his hair was slick back to give him a more dignified look.

All three of them looked at him mouth agape.

“Uh Mr. Leon?”

Leon scratched the back of his head and looked away as he didn’t expect this kind of reaction.

“Uh yeah. So…”

“Yes Master looks rather civilized compared to any other old day. But don’t drop your guard Miss Olivia for you see he is still a feral animal.”

“Hey!!!” Leon said, turning to see Luxion evading his grasp.

“So you do know how to dress.” Angie said.

“Well when we went out it was more of a casual look. This is more of a fancy dinner look.”

“Fancy diner?”

“Crap, I spoiled it.”

“Yes you did. And before you girls ask, me and Luxion helped him.” Cleare said as she uncloaked herself.

“You would not believe the amount of first year girls that tried to seduce master.”

“Can I have their names?” Angie asked in a serious tone.

“Angie.” Noelle said.

“No, master had refused their advances as he made his way here. Speaking of which.” Both spherical robots turned to look at their master who jumped in on que.

“Oh right.” Leon offered his hand.

“Are you ready?”

Livia smiled and took his hand.

“I wish you told me where we were going. I would have dressed better.”

“Hey you look beautiful no matter what.” Leon said.

Livia's face grew red as he brought her close to him and brushed her hair.

“You…you're getting too good for your own good.”

Leon smiled and was about to lean in to kiss her but he remembered where he was. He looked around and saw that he had gathered a crowd as he entered the girls dorm.

He turned to the crowd and cleared his throat. They were quick to disperse.

He soon offered his arm and Livia took it, leaning her head on his shoulder.

******

Livia was on cloud nine as she clung to his arm.

She loved this feeling where all his attention was on her.

Yes, she loved Angie and by extension Noelle but was she wrong to want Leon for just herself for even a little.

All she knew was he was going to take her out to a fancy dinner. She didn’t know if he had other plans but knowing him he probably had Cleare and Luxion plan everything.

But it didn’t matter. As long as she was with him it didn’t matter.

If only she knew what was to come.

As they walked by the school grounds she couldn’t help but feel all eyes on them.

“He’s like a prince!”

“I wish I was her!”

“Is she cheating?”

She ignored those comments but as for Leon.

“Lucky bastard!”

“Sure is nice to be the king's lost son.”

“He’ll kill you if you say that!”

Livia rubbed her head on his shoulder to calm him down as she could feel him clenching his fist.

“Thank you for being mature.”

She could hear him sigh.

“Anything for you.”

As they approached the gates Livia could see a beautiful white carriage, multiple tall white horses reined in with a coachman in elegant garb. What made it more extravagant was a red carpet flying out the cart’s door and unrolling itself to their feet.

Livia’s heart skipped a beat as she turned to look at his blushing face.

“I…I wanted to treat you like a princess. Y’know.” He smiled sheepishly as he scratched the back of his head.

“I…I don’t know what to say?”

It was then Cleare made her appearance known again.

“Well let me finish what my master wants to say but can’t, Ehmm. ‘I want to treat you like the world should, I want it to kiss the ground you walk, worship the air you breath and make it bend over backwards for you with a smile on its face while I point a gun at it.’”

“I WOULDN'T SAY THAT LAST PART!!!” Leon roared.

“So you would say everything else.” Cleare teased.

Leon stuttered as he glowed red.

It happened too quickly as he felt himself being pulled down and a pair of lips crashing onto his.

Livia slowly let go of his collar before wrapping her arms around his neck as Leon allowed himself to get lost in her touch. His arms slumping down before finally wrapping them around her waist.

It felt like an eternity as they enjoyed this moment of passion.

It would’ve been perfect if-

“Saving. Saving. Saving. Saving.” Cleare kept saying as she flew around them at rapid speed.

As they broke the kiss, Livia leaned into him.

“I love you Leon.”

Leon hugged her.

“I love you too.”

She could feel him move his head to glare at Cleare.

“Don’t ruin it.” She said affirmatively.

Leon just stayed quiet as they hugged.

Back in the dorm room Luxion projected what was happening for Angie and Noelle.

“Awe, they really look cute.”

“They do. Makes me wish we could redo our date during the first weeks back.”

“Well we did all go adventuring a bit after.”

“Wait there on the move.” They watched as Leon helped Livia onto the carriage.

******

The trip to the main city was a new experience. They had taken the scenic routes that hadn’t been destroyed back when the Forest of Ladies tried to revolt.

She was shocked when the restaurant they stopped at had a fountain with marble sculptures and radiant flowers surrounding it.

Livia felt like the luckiest woman in the world as the coachman came down and opened the door for them.

Leon stepped out and offered his hand for her to follow.

She was surprised when the entire staff walked out the restaurant and bowed to them.

“WELCOME! PLEASE ENJOY!!!”

Soon a hostess walked towards them and bowed.

“Please follow me.”

With that she held onto Leon’s arm as they followed the lady.

“Mr.Leon how much is-”

“Don’t worry about it.”

And so she didn’t. She knew they were okay with money but she still couldn’t stop thinking like a commoner.

She hoped it didn’t annoy him.

They were led to a reserved room with a single table.

Not too long but enough for them to sit together.

Every part of her couldn’t stop looking at how expensive everything was. Comparing it back to her family’s home.

She reached for a glass and was startled when someone filled the empty glass with water.

“Oh ah thank you.” The waiter nodded and held the pitcher.

She picked up the menu and her first look was a the prices.

It was barely 200 dia for a glass of water.

The other was 600 dia for what she could only believe to be breadsticks.

“Can we have a serving of breadsticks and fried shrimp please.” Leon asked as the waiter put the pitcher down and walked out the room.

“Mr. Leon, that's 2,000 dia.” She said agasp.

Leon was still looking through the menu.

“You think I should’ve asked for the baked potato skins too?”

“No. It’s-it’s too much.”

“Livia it’s nothing.”

“But…”

Leon put the menu down.

“Livia, go nuts. This is to treat us. We have more than enough.”

She looked back at the menu and looked for the cheapest thing.

“Will a salad be okay?” SHe whispered to herself.

“Liv stop being a prude.”

She jumped when Cleare appeared.

“Cleare.” Leon said.

“Liv, don't hold yourself back. I get this is still all too new. Especially all this but your engaged to master. Y’know, one of the richest people in the kingdom, Treat yourself. Put an actual dent in master’s wallet.”

She looked back at Leon.

“I hate to say it but she is right. I’m not hurting for money.”

“Then can I get the Salmon and Steak…with dessert.”

“We can try the whole menu.”

Lviia smiled when the waiter came back.

Back at the dorm Noelle and Angie awed at the scene.

“It’s nice that she can come out of that mindset.”

“Has she always had this?”

“Yes. When she attended my household she would hesitate to eat anything due to the amount of utensils around the plate.”

“I can guess meeting Leon was a dream come true then.”

“From how they met and hung out afterwards I would say so.”

“You think it was love at first sight for her?”

“Most likely. She was alone and he appeared like a light in darkness.”

“It was that bad.”

“I didn’t know the extent until I saw her previous room. It was a repurposed broom closet.”

“Assholes.”

Angie said nothing as she couldn’t disagree.

They looked back at the feed and saw them feeding each other a chocolate cake.
