Work Text:

How it all started:

Mingyu is standing in front of the mailbox, a few letters in her hands she just picked out of it. The sun is shining through the tiny window on the door and the light falling on the envelopes makes it a little hard to see which bill she is holding up. Between all of the unwanted mail she finds a letter from her grandmother. It was Mingyu’s birthday a few days ago and she assumes the yearly greeting card with the yearly pocket money has arrived. Her grandmother has been calling her everyday since she’s dropped it off to ask if it had finally arrived. Mingyu knew what her first task was going to be once she’s up in her room.

She has opened the letter from her grandma and was about to pick the card out of the envelope — the strong vanilla scent of her grandma hitting her nose even though she was wearing scent blocking patches — when she gets interrupted by a deep, velvety voice.

“Excuse me.”

“Oh,” she exclaims. “Sorry.”

Apologizing, Mingyu steps to the side, card tightly clutched in her hands — she didn’t even get to count the money yet, and she really needed the cheer up. Looking up, Mingyu wants to check out who interrupted her little happy moment.

Mingyu’s eyes fall on the person standing approximately five centimeters away from her face, and her jaw drops down to her knees.

In front of Mingyu stands who must be the prettiest woman she’s ever had the pleasure to see, and she’s seen a lot of them. Usually, Mingyu immediately falls in love with every girl she sees and this time is no exception.

The woman has her short black hair tied up in a small ponytail, dressed in a lavender dress shirt and her unbelievably long legs were covered in a tight pair of jeans. Business casual, Mingyu thinks to herself. The horn-rimmed glasses perched on her nose completed the look. Perfectly formed brows were slightly drawn together as she was going through her own mail. Mingyu has to hold herself back from reaching out and dragging her finger over her sharp jawline.

“Uhm.”

Mingyu is yet again interrupted by the same person. Heat rises in her face and if she wasn’t wearing scent blockers, Mingyu is sure the other would be able to smell her embarrassment.

“Sorry again. I seem to be blocking your way today.” It was supposed to be a joke to lighten the mood and cover her obvious ogling, but Mingyu’s new love of her life seemed to be in a playful mood.

“Oh well,” she shrugs. “If it’s such a beautiful view, I don’t mind at all.”

Curling her hands tightly around the letters in her hold, the heat that she originally felt in her face only spreads throughout her whole body now. The skin under the patches is itching and so are her fingers to peel them off and do something insane like throw herself at the woman in front of her. She is certain that she is an alpha and Mingyu thinks that if she asks nicely enough, she will bite her neck until it starts hurting.

Thankfully she gathers control over her brain and body, and instead says: “My name is Mingyu. I’ve never seen you before.”

“I have seen you many times, Mingyu. I’m Wonwoo, your next door neighbor,” is the prompt answer she receives.

Oh. Huh?

It’s been a little over a year since Mingyu has moved into this building and she was sure she knew all of her neighbors, especially her next door ones. She doesn’t know the girl’s name, but they greet each other when they coincidentally meet in front of their apartment doors and Mingyu would’ve definitely remembered Wonwoo. She turns her brain to mouth filter off and tells Wonwoo that.

“Well, we’ve never talked, if that eases your mind,” Wonwoo says as she tries to move past Mingyu without touching her in the very narrow space they are standing in. She gets the hint and steps to the side. “Thank you, Mingyu-ssi.” The smile on her face can be heard in her voice and Mingyu presses her lips together to not accidentally groan.

Wonwoo starts walking up the stairs ahead of Mingyu and she follows right behind her, eyes trained on her butt and long legs that seem to be approximately as tall as her own.

“Have you been looking at me through the spy on the door?”

A melodic laugh halls through the poorly isolated building in response while Mingyu thinks that’s the reason why the rent is so cheap and the winters unbearable. She also thinks that Wonwoo’s laugh can easily be classified as the purest sound in the world.

“No. I sometimes see you running out of the building when I’m sitting outside on the balcony, uhm,” she momentarily stops to turn around, eyes searching Mingyu’s. “That doesn’t sound any better. I swear I’m not stalking you.”

It only has been a few minutes since their first encounter, but up until this point Mingyu had thought that nothing could ever shake her confidence. A bold assumption to make about a stranger, but Mingyu likes to think that she is a (self-proclaimed) people expert.

Chuckling, Mingyu tucks a strand of her hair behind her ear and shakes her head in response. She takes the chance to walk past and ahead of Wonwoo, giving her a good view of her back now.

Spending five hours working on a group project where three out of five students’ only contribution was to either be breathing in the shared space or be against every idea proposed by the other two didn’t really help her appearance, but she was still pretty confident in the way her ass looked in the tights she was wearing. Straightening her back, she swayed her hips slightly as she climbed up the stairs.

“Now I totally believe that you are,” teasing, Mingyu fishes the keys out of her bag when she comes to a halt in front of the door. Next to her Wonwoo stops, too.

“Oh please,” she groans and Mingyu can’t help but laugh in response now.

Leaning against the cool door, Mingyu grins as she watches Wonwoo unlock the door to her apartment. From inside, Mingyu can already hear her roommate singing loudly to a random song which usually means she’s deep cleaning the apartment.

Wonwoo is about to step inside when she turns to look at Mingyu. She thinks she looks even prettier with a smile on her face and rosy cheeks.

“It was nice to officially meet you, Mingyu-ssi. Don’t be a stranger from now on.”

“You too,” she replies and then Wonwoo disappears inside her apartment.

Once inside as well, Mingyu manages to slip out of one shoe before she is roped into being part of the cleaning crew.

-

As Mingyu dusts off the bookshelf in the living room while dancing to the Mamma Mia! soundtrack Ryujin has put on, which indefinitely drags the end of the cleaning session to forever, she thinks about Wonwoo’s rosy cheeks and pouty lips and how badly she would love to know what they feel like against her own.

-

As it turns out, Wonwoo is indeed an alpha and Mingyu is glad her omega instincts weren’t off. Her roommate, Ryujin, had told her that she lives with Yuna, who in return Mingyu has seen often before but had never asked for her name. Ryujin is very well informed about everything and everyone and more than willing to share her information with Mingyu. She told her that she graduated last year and is now working a corporate 9-5 life, which explains why she looked so put together the first time they met.

It also turns out that Wonwoo has been living next door for as long as Mingyu has in her apartment and she wonders how it was possible that they have never ran into each other before. As Ryujin tells Mingyu that Wonwoo has recently broken up with the cute omega boy –- her words, not Mingyu’s — that kept walking in and out of their apartment, and how she’s trying to get his number so she can hit him up to “console his broken heart”. Mingyu doesn’t care about Ryujin’s plans, but she thinks that the universe must have bigger plans for her and Wonwoo.

-

Two weeks pass before Mingyu sees Wonwoo again.

She’s running late for her morning class because instead of going to sleep, she stayed up late into the night attached to her computer. Mingyu had started a new Sims family and the couple had an unplanned baby. Chaos had erupted and Mingyu was way too invested in these pixilated people to just turn it off, go to sleep and let them deal with it themselves. Now the next day has risen and Mingyu hates herself for staying up until two in the morning and for signing up for a 9 AM class.

It had rained all night and even now the weather was way too chilly for her liking, but that made her choice of clothing even easier. Mingyu quickly puts a pair of jeans and a yellow hoodie on. She manages to brush her teeth, wash her face and put her hair into a ponytail before she leaves the house and almost runs face first into Wonwoo’s chest.

“Woah, easy there,” she hears her say. Her hands hold onto her arms to steady Mingyu before she can kiss the ground hello. She’s so embarrassed.

“I’m so sorry!” Pulling the strap of her backpack higher over her shoulder, she straightens her back. “I’m late for class and my bus, which I will definitely miss, is leaving in less than five minutes.”

It’s only when Wonwoo removes her hands that Mingyu misses the warmth of them on her arms and regrets not enjoying it while it lasted. She wrinkles her nose up while she runs her own hands over her arms.

“I can drive you, if you like?”

“Huh?”

“I said—”, but Wonwoo doesn’t get to finish her sentence because Mingyu interrupts her.

“I know. Are you sure?”

And, oh, Mingyu feels the tips of her ears heat up when Wonwoo flashes her a pretty smile, and her eyes turn into crescents that would put to shame every new moon. Her fingers clutch tightly around the strap of her backpack as her brain tells her to stop acting so weird in front of her neighbor.

“Of course, let’s go.”

-

When they finally are in the car Mingyu looks properly at Wonwoo. She’s wearing a nice dark green — Mingyu’s favorite color — blazer, paired with a white top and black pants and she’s wearing round glasses today. Her dark, in waves styled hair ends atop her shoulders and looks so soft and shiny, Mingyu thinks touching it once would help her get through the day.

Mingyu wraps her arms tightly around the backpack sitting on her lap, pressing it against her chest to prevent herself from starting to write love poems about Wonwoo in her head. It has been silent since they sat down, and Mingyu can’t say that it isn’t exceptionally awkward. She clears her throat.

“Thank you for driving me. I’m sorry for the inconvenience.”

“Oh don’t worry about it. I’m headed that way anyway.” The corners of her lips tug up into a smile and Mingyu can’t help herself but reciprocate it.

“Where do you work?”

“In the IT department at the university actually.” The answer sounds a little sheepish, but Mingyu can’t really pay attention to that. She’s too busy wondering how it could be that not only did she never see Wonwoo, who lives literally next door, in their building, but apparently they have been in the same university, too. What’s next? Has she gone to the same kindergarten, too, and Mingyu has been wearing blinders her whole life?

Mingyu considers jumping out of the moving vehicle when Wonwoo calls her name to get her attention.

“Sorry, what were you saying?”

“I asked what your major is. Are you okay? You look pale.” Worry laces her voice and Mingyu bites her lower lip so she doesn’t start screaming.

“I’m fine, just too little sleep and no coffee,” she reassures Wonwoo. “I study architecture.”

Wonwoo tells Mingyu that she has a degree in computer science and that she’s been working at the university since she’s graduated, but doesn’t plan on staying there forever. She also learns that Wonwoo is three years older than her and Wonwoo tells her to speak casually to her, which she gladly accepts.

They reach the parking lot of the university and Mingyu is now, thanks to Wonwoo, on time for her class, and she tells her that much.

“See you later, unnie,” she waves at Wonwoo and rushes off.

And while she walks towards the main entrance, Mingyu wonders why she didn’t wait for Wonwoo so they could walk together. A shame, because she doesn’t know when will be the next time she’ll get to see her again.

-

Around noon, Mingyu is sitting in the library, nose deep in the books and once again questioning all the choices she’s made that led her to this point in life, when a paper cup appears in her vision out of nowhere.

Lifting her head, Mingyu looks directly into Wonwoo’s bright face.

“I hope I guessed your taste in coffee correctly.”

Mingyu’s brain is going haywire and she’s risking giving herself whiplash by looking back and forth between the cup and Wonwoo.

“How did you know I’m here?”

Shrugging, Wonwoo starts walking backwards away from her table.

“Call it intuition,” she winks. “See you later, Mingyu-yah.”

Mingyu’s left speechless and with a face in the color of a watermelon.

-

The coffee is a little too bitter, but she’ll be damned if she ever complains about it.

-

On her way home, Mingyu stops at the store to buy all the needed ingredients for chocolate chip cookies. She won’t admit it out loud, but she might’ve looked around for Wonwoo when she left the library.

-

In the evening Mingyu brought Wonwoo the cookies she had baked for her as a thank you for saving her from her professor's side-eye. At first Wonwoo didn’t want to accept them, saying it wasn’t necessary, but Mingyu insisted on it. That night Mingyu laid awake thinking about Wonwoo’s blinding bright smile.

From then on it seemed like Mingyu couldn’t escape Wonwoo anymore.

Every Wednesday, Wonwoo drives her to uni and every Monday and Friday she gives her a ride back home. But it doesn’t stop at that. She spots her at the cafeteria, on campus, once she ran into her while she was picking up flowers for her room. They get to know each other during their planned and unplanned meetups.

Wonwoo asks her about the cookies she baked and next thing Mingyu knows she is standing in Wonwoo’s kitchen, preparing the dough while Wonwoo tells her about her work day. They get lost in their conversation and forget to take the cookies out of the oven on time. Smoke fills the kitchen and Yuna complains about it, and tells them to ruin the kitchen in Mingyu’s apartment next time. The cookies might be burnt but the laughs they share are worth it.

Their next kitchen adventure happens at Mingyu’s apartment. Her roommate is out, so they have the place to themselves, which means nothing, because Mingyu and Wonwoo are just friends and nothing more. The omega had first thought that she fell in love with Wonwoo at first sight, but that was then, before she got to meet her properly. Now she thinks she could fall in love with her in all seriousness.

Today’s menu is lasagna, which Mingyu claims to be an expert on. She has cooked it many times for her friends and family, and the reviews she’s received have never been anything but full five stars. Mingyu thinks that with Wonwoo’s help it will turn out even better. Truthfully, the two of them cooking together really just means that Wonwoo is chopping ingredients at the table while Mingyu asks all the questions she’s dying to know. For example if she’s single and if she likes tall, smart and cute omega girls.

Wonwoo is wearing a pair of joggers and an oversized green shirt, her hair is put up in a bun on top of her head. She looks so concentrated at work, with her glasses sitting at the tip of her nose, until the carrot she had been cutting suddenly flies off the cutting board and lands on the carpeted floor. Mingyu blinks in surprise.

When their eyes meet, Wonwoo is pushing her glasses up to sit properly, the apples of her cheeks as red as the diced tomato resting in the bowl next to her. The look makes her want to rip their patches off and finally get a nose full of her scent that she’s been so curious about for so long.

“Uhm,” she starts. “Yes?”

“Is that a question or the answer?”

It’s quiet after that. Wonwoo stands up and picks up the piece of carrot to throw it into the waste, she sits back down with her hands trapped between her thighs, eyes on Mingyu. It’s her turn to blush now.

“The answer,” Wonwoo nods eventually. “I am single, and I do happen to like tall, smart, pretty and cute omega girls.”

“I didn’t say pretty,” is the only thing that Mingyu can say in return to that.

“Well, you should have.” Mingyu watches Wonwoo’s eyes scan her from top to bottom, a grin tugging at the corner of her lips. Suddenly Mingyu feels self-conscious about wearing a top that reveals too much of her cleavage, so she starts tugging at it to try and cover herself.

Quietness takes over the room once again and Mingyu can do nothing but stare at Wonwoo while she goes back to finish cutting all the vegetables. She even cleans the table up and only sits back down when she runs out of tasks to do.

“Unnie,” Mingyu swallows a dry lump in her throat. Humming in response, Wonwoo looks at her. Her cheek propped up on her palm, a soft smile on her pretty lips and waiting for Mingyu to continue.

“Unnie, is your heart beating as fast as mine?”

And she means it. Mingyu feels like her heart is going to jump out of her chest at this rate. She feels hot all over and her hands are wet with sweat. It’s not like Mingyu has never kissed anyone before, but there is something about Wonwoo that is different. Although all of their meetings have been purely platonic up until now, Mingyu has always hoped in the back of her mind that Wonwoo would see her the same way. Especially during movie nights, when Mingyu would cuddle into Wonwoo’s side and she would either have her arm wrapped around Mingyu’s shoulder or be holding her hand if it was Wonwoo’s turn to pick and she’d choose a horror movie.

Their friendship is unusual in every sense. Wonwoo being employed at the university sometimes got them weird looks from others when they are seen together on campus, even though they were in different departments and Wonwoo wasn’t her professor or anything like that. And also her being an omega and Wonwoo an alpha. That alone isn’t the weird part; Mingyu has a few alpha friends. It’s more like the fact that they seem to be attached at the hip, and then there’s all the cuddling and hand holding, and occasionally Wonwoo feeding her food or brushing her hair back.

One time Mingyu even fell asleep in her arms after a particularly long day. They had ordered food and watched a rerun of How I Met Your Mother, and Mingyu had jokingly said that she would tell her future children the whole story of how she met their mother in the same manner. Wonwoo had chuckled in return, ran her fingers through her locks and told her she can’t wait to see what that will look like. When she had woken up, she had been dangerously close to Wonwoo’s neck and Mingyu had thought that if she were to move her head just a little bit, she would be able to press her lips against her covered scent gland. She had fled the scene before she could do something crazy like peel off her patch and scent her right then and there.

Wonwoo reaches her hands out to take a hold of Mingyu’s — her hold as soft and gentle as it always is. She always has a tube of hand cream in her bag that she uses after washing her hands. It smells like almonds and cherries, and Mingyu is obsessed with it. If she could she’d keep her nose buried in them forever.

“I don’t know, maybe. How fast is yours beating?” It feels like Wonwoo is staring right into her soul while her thumbs rub circles onto the back of her hand.

“Uhm,” Mingyu starts, but needs a moment to collect herself before she can continue. “Remember that one time, when we were late for uni?”

“Which one?”

“That time when you woke up late and wouldn’t leave before having coffee? And you were going 70 in the 30 zone? I was sure that we would crash and die, I thought my heart would come out of my throat,” she moves Wonwoo’s hands to her cheeks so she is cupping her face. “It’s about the same. But maybe, like, ten times worse.”

Laughing, melodious and beautiful, Wonwoo leans her forehead against Mingyu’s. Her eyes are closed and Mingyu can’t help but do the same, Wonwoo’s laughter unlocking a smile from her.

“Then my heart is beating just as fast as yours, yes.” Wonwoo’s breath hits her as she speaks so softly and close to her face, Mingyu feels dizzy.

“Unnie,” she merely whispers. Wanting, hoping.

Fluttering her eyes open, she looks straight into Wonwoo’s dark orbs that somehow still manage to shine in the crappy lighting of the tiny kitchen they are sitting in.

“Min.” With one hand, Wonwoo brushes a few stray strands of her hair away from her face and tucks them behind her ear. Her eyes drop down to Mingyu’s lips, linger for a moment and then she is looking back into her eyes. “Can I?”

This is it; the moment Mingyu has been secretly hoping for since the day they’ve met. Just her and her diary know how badly she wanted to find out what Wonwoo’s lips taste like, if they feel as soft as they look.

The only right answer to her question is; “Please.”

Wonwoo closes the short distance between them and lays her lips atop of Mingyu’s. The first touch is gentle and barely there, and yet so powerful. She closes her eyes and basks in the feeling of finally knowing what it is like to be kissed by the Jeon Wonwoo.

Mingyu’s lips begin to move and Wonwoo responds. Tilting her head, Wonwoo drags her tongue over the bottom of Mingyu’s lips. She can’t exactly pinpoint what it is, but Mingyu guesses that Wonwoo tastes a little like gingerbread cookies. What starts off as a soft and slow kiss, almost pure, turns heated pretty fast when Wonwoo’s hands land on her hips to pull her closer.

Mingyu’s legs are splayed over Wonwoo’s and her arms wrapped around her neck. She inches forward with her hips until she is fully seated on Wonwoo’s lap. If it weren’t for the tedious basic human need to feed, she wouldn’t ever let go of her mouth. Her stomach rumbles so loudly that they both can’t help but laugh into each other’s mouths and Mingyu thinks she could get addicted to that.

“We should work on getting you filled, Min”, Wonwoo mumbles against her lips as she pecks them. And yeah, Mingyu knows that she is talking about food, but they just had a sexy make out session, and she is just a girl after all. She is praying to every God in existence or fantasy that Wonwoo’s scent blockers are strong enough not to smell the slick that is starting to pool in her underwear.

“Yeah…” comes the timid reply, paired with the latest shade of red in her face as she begins to move away from Wonwoo’s lap. Sneakily she tries to peek at Wonwoo’s thighs to see if she’s done any damage yet, but luckily it seems like it’s safe in that regard. What she does see is the hint of a tent in her joggers, and when Wonwoo follows her line of sight, her eyes grow to the size of saucers and she crosses her legs tightly, which makes the whole situation worse.

Mingyu tries to downplay everything by telling Wonwoo that she will get working on the sauce for the lasagna and tells Wonwoo to get comfortable and rest until it is time to set the table, but the alpha insists on sticking around and helping her. She can hardly argue with that.

During dinner, Mingyu and Wonwoo are sitting opposite from each other, playing footsies under the table while Mingyu tries hard not to burn her tongue on the food or do something embarrassing like choke on it.

They are cleaning up the table and Wonwoo is loading the dishwasher, which just as the rest of the kitchen has seen better days, but the ground will torn open beneath her feet before Mingyu complains about it. It’s the best human invented kitchen appliance, and Mingyu will die on this hill.

As Mingyu is putting the leftovers into a container, she turns to look at Wonwoo who is having a fight with the baking dish and trying to figure out how to make it fit in the dishwasher. Her brows are furrowed together and her lips in a pout. Mingyu could kiss her.

“We should do this again,” Mingyu says. Wonwoo has finally won the fight and turns the dishwasher on before she turns to look at Mingyu.

“Clean your kitchen?” She has a shit-eating grin on her lips. One of her hands is resting on her hip while she leans with her side against the kitchen counter.

Rolling her eyes, Mingyu pokes her shoulder in response.

“Yeah, I’ve always dreamt about having a hot alpha scrub my kitchen tiles. Are you in?”

“Hot?”, with an arched eyebrow Wonwoo looks down her attire and back up at Mingyu. “I could maybe get convinced.”

“Do tell me please how I can get you to agree.”

“Well.” Wonwoo walks the short steps towards Mingyu and wraps her arms around her waist, pulling her closer to her. “I’m a little expensive, is that okay?”

“Is that so? I guess I have no choice but to pay the price then, hm?” The patch on Wonwoo’s neck is making Mingyu’s fingers itch to reach for it, but instead she plays with a loose strand of Wonwoo's hair and wraps it around her finger.

“You don’t have to, only if you like to.” The reassurance is accompanied with a gentle squeeze to Mingyu’s hips, and Mingyu wants to scream at the tenderness. Not only does Mingyu want and like it, she needs it.

They lock gazes again and they are both grinning as they lean in at the same time and meet in the middle for a soft kiss. Mingyu’s hands sit atop of Wonwoo’s shoulders. While they get lost in the kiss, Mingyu’s thumbs brush over Wonwoo’s neck and get occasionally stuck on the patches that are starting to come undone.

Mingyu is enjoying the kiss, enjoys the way Wonwoo’s lips feel and taste on hers and she is positive she could easily get addicted to it. However, because Mingyu still doesn’t know what Wonwoo smells like, and she can’t stop thinking about it, she is distracted while they kiss and that isn’t lost on Wonwoo.

Confusion and concern are written all over Wonwoo’s face when she breaks their kiss, a little pout to her lips.

“Is something wrong, Min?” Her voice is colored with worry, and Mingyu’s heart beats a little faster — which she didn’t think was possible. Mingyu is a sucker for pet names, and Wonwoo always using a nickname for her makes her weak in the knees.

“No, nothing,” she tries her best to reassure her. “Aren’t you curious, unnie?”

“Curious about what, sweetheart?”

Mingyu tries to ignore the pet name and how she has goosebumps all over her skin when Wonwoo tucks her hair back behind her ear.

“You know,” she scratches at her neck. “My scent.”

Wonwoo’s eyes widen in realization and her cheeks are colored in a pretty pink blush. She nods.

“Ever since we met,” she confesses. It surprises Mingyu to hear that. For she knew that Wonwoo was interested in her — she isn't oblivious — but she had no idea she was the same amount invested as herself.

"Oh."

Their eyes lock for the nth time that evening, but Mingyu still can't help but blush softly. Rightfully, Wonwoo takes it as a cue to take Mingyu's patch off. Her fingers are already hovering over it, when Mingyu suddenly stops her by wrapping her fingers around Wonwoo's slender wrist.

"I'm so-", Wonwoo starts apologizing but Mingyu stops her before she can continue.

"No, don't. It's just— I think that we should move to the living room."

While Mingyu is aware that her roommate is a beta and therefore doesn't perceive scents as intense as her or Wonwoo, she still doesn't necessarily want their kitchen to reek of their scents. The bedroom seems too dangerous of a choice, because she doesn't want to risk dropping her panties before she knows what all of this means, and the living room is much easier to air out and therefore the safer option. She tells Wonwoo as much, when she looks at her with mild concern in her eyes. The airing and kitchen part, not the bedroom part.

-

On the count of three, Wonwoo and Mingyu both peel their patches off of their skins. Mingyu is holding her breath, eyes fixed on Wonwoo, who has her own eyes closed, watching her reaction. They are sitting across each other, legs tucked under the butt and knees touching.

Wonwoo takes a deep breath. Her chest rises when her lungs fill with air followed by an immediate gulp. Mingyu wanted to set a romantic mood, so she turned the headlight off and lit a few candles and somehow even in the dim light, Wonwoo was so beautiful to look at.

Giving up, Mingyu finally starts breathing again. A shiver runs down her spine and goosebumps form all over her skin when her nose fills with the scent of ginger. There's a million things Mingyu could say to Wonwoo. For example how her scent reminds her of warm spring day, the fresh wind blowing through her hair or maybe how out of all the scents she's had the pleasure and misfortune to smell, hers is already her favorite of them all. But she doesn't say any of that, instead she says, full of excitement:

"You smell like my body wash!"

Slowly, Wonwoo flutters her eyes open behind her glasses. If she had seemed focused up until a second ago and maybe even a little shy, she wears a sly smile on her pretty lips now.

"I know."

Perplexed by Wonwoo's response, Mingyu blinks while she waits for Wonwoo to elaborate.

Luckily, she gets the hint — she can probably smell her confusion now, too.

"I smell it when we sit together in the car, or when we're watching a movie. When we hug," she explains, and makes Mingyu blush with her next words. "I liked to imagine that it was my scent on you."

"I would like that. If you scented me, I mean."

Her cheeks are aflame. Excitement bubbles beneath her skin when Wonwoo leans in and Mingyu expects her to scent her, just like she said she wanted her to, but instead she feels her nose pressed against her neck.

One of her hands disappears in Mingyu's hair, the gentle tug guiding her to tilt her neck for better access. Unable to resist, she follows along and exposes her skin for Wonwoo.

Mingyu's eyes are shut, lips slightly parted all while Wonwoo seems to be getting drunk off of her scent. It isn't until a few more moments — minutes, hours? Mingyu can't tell — pass before Wonwoo pulls back. Her glasses sit askew on her nose, panting softly and she is red in the face when she lifts her head to look at Mingyu.

“Your scent,” Wonwoo breathes out. “It's so sweet, Min. Do you know, what it reminds me of?”

And she doesn't, has no clue, but Mingyu’s brain to mouth filter is turned off.

“Iced tea?”

A soft laugh releases from Wonwoo’s lips. She places a kiss beneath her jaw and then on her cheek. Mingyu is obsessed.

“A few years ago, I went on a trip to Europe — Spain, more specifically. It was early summer and I hopped from city to city, saw a lot of beautiful places. There was this place in Valencia that I visited. It was a peach farm and it was in the middle of the harvesting season. The trees were full of the fruits and the smell I was surrounded with is one that I will never forget in my life. I spent hours in there.

Ever since then, peaches have become my favorite fruit and I fell in love with their fresh smell.”

A shiver runs down Mingyu’s body again, this time because Wonwoo rubs her wrist against her skin and finally, finally, scents her.

“I’m on the fastest way to get obsessed with you, Mingyu.”

If it weren’t for their combined scents clouding Mingyu’s senses, she would’ve probably said something to that. Maybe that she feels the same way about Wonwoo, or that her scent makes her feel all warm from inside and makes the hairs on her arms stand, but she can’t voice any of that. The only thing she can do is close her eyes, part her lips and let a soft moan slip past them.

The sound of it gets Wonwoo to stop. Mingyu is about to start complaining, but before she can utter the first word out, Wonwoo’s lips are on hers. Gasping into Wonwoo’s mouth, she pushes Mingyu against the pillows on the couch and Mingyu spreads her legs so Wonwoo can get comfortable between them.

The kiss is nothing like the other two they shared. There’s no sign of tenderness or softness anymore; it’s full of heat, passion and desire. Helplessly, Mingyu wraps her legs around Wonwoo’s waist and her hands take a tight hold of her hair as she gets lost in their making out. It’s only when Wonwoo bucks her hips and presses her growing erection against her covered crotch that Mingyu’s senses snap back to life.

Placing her hands on Wonwoo’s shoulders, she pushes her gently back until their lips are detached from each other. Wonwoo emits the softest whine possible and for a moment, Mingyu wants to throw away all her principles and dive right back in. But she doesn’t, she can’t.

“Min,” Wonwoo looks as hazy as Mingyu feels. She is panting between the words she speaks. “Did I do something wrong? Did I hurt you?”

Wonwoo’s hands are touching her face, her neck and down to her arms. Mingyu stops her by taking a hold on her wrist and pressing her lips against the inside of it, and Wonwoo visibly relaxes.

“You didn’t. It was really nice, but,” suddenly feeling shy, Mingyu takes a short pause before she continues to speak. “I don’t want to rush anything.”

Wonwoo blinks a few times as her head clears up, eventually nods in agreement to Mingyu.

“Are you disappointed, unnie?" She is worrying on her bottom lip, teeth nibbling on the skin. Wonwoo is still practically on top of her.

“Not at all,” she kisses Mingyu beneath her jaw.

“I just want to know what all of this means first,” Mingyu widely gestures between them and almost hits Wonwoo in the process.

Sitting up, Wonwoo leans against the couch, Mingyu’s hand in hers. Her touch is soft when she plays with her fingers.

“What do you want it to mean?”

The question is asked so seriously, almost stoic with the way Wonwoo looks straight into Mingyu’s eyes. They break their moments-long eye contact when both of them start grinning at the same time.

“Unnie,” Mingyu interlocks their fingers in a tight hold and moves her hand to her lips to kiss the back of it. “I really like you.”

“Oh yeah?” Wonwoo’s thumb brushes over Mingyu’s bottom lip and Mingyu puckers her lips in response. “How much?”

“So much that I want you to be my hot alpha girlfriend.” Her cheeks hurt by how hard she is smiling and sees Wonwoo mirror it.

“Only if you agree to be my tall, smart, pretty and cute omega girlfriend in return.”

When their lips meet again it's hard for them to kiss because of how much they are smiling. Mingyu feels overjoyed. When she woke up that morning, she had no idea she would end up with an addiction to her new girlfriend’s lips. Her very own girlfriend!

They keep the kiss innocent this time and actually manage to separate and watch a movie together. They hold hands and Mingyu leans her head on Wonwoo’s ridiculously broad shoulder. Mingyu shifts in her seat when she imagines her legs resting on Wonwoo's shoulders and panting her name.

Mingyu isn't happy when Wonwoo announces that she will leave, but she realizes that part of taking it easy is giving each other room. She insists on walking Wonwoo home and they are both giggling about it.

It's only with a lot of kisses and promises that they will see each other the next day again, that Mingyu finally lets go of her. When they part, Mingyu’s eyes are fixed on the necklace around Wonwoo’s neck. Her lips curl up into a smile. She had never noticed it before today.

“Is that a daisy?”

Wonwoo’s eyes drop down to the necklace when Mingyu points at it. Her fingers curl around it, as if to protect it.

“Yeah. It's my favorite,” she confirms.

“That's my birth flower.”

Wonwoo’s head snaps up. Closing the distance, her lips are back on Mingyu’s, and Mingyu thinks that this will be the greatest thing to have ever happened to her.

-
In the following weeks Wonwoo takes Mingyu on different dates. Wonwoo had prepared a picnic with Mingyu’s favorite snacks, that she had previously asked about when they were stuck in traffic one day. It was beautiful. They watched the sun go down and Wonwoo fed her cherries, just to lick the corner of her lips when the juice of the fruit dripped down her skin.

Another time they both ended up at a concert of a small indie band. The concert was held at a park, and Wonwoo and Mingyu had been sitting on a blanket, cuddled up together and just enjoying each other’s company. When the night had fully taken over and the stars were shining above them, Mingyu leaned her head against Wonwoo’s shoulder to inhale her calming scent.

Seeking and finding comfort in each other’s scent has become a regular thing for them now. Especially after a particular hard day, Mingyu likes to sit in the car with Wonwoo, close her eyes and inhale her scent until she feels like her lungs are going to explode.

It’s Monday and they are on their way back home. A soft song is playing in the radio while the rain is hitting the windows of the car with Wonwoo holding Mingyu’s hand in her own. It’s peaceful until Wonwoo speaks up.

“How was your exam?”

Unable to suppress a groan, Mingyu throws her head back against the headrest. It has been a rough couple of weeks for her. She spent more time at the library and locked up in her room studying than having an original thought of her own. Preparing for exam season also meant she doesn’t really get to see Wonwoo. She is glad that they at least have the car rides and her occasional visits at the library on campus.

Today had been the start of the horrendous exam week.

“It was fine, I think,” she shrugs. Mingyu wraps her fingers around Wonwoo’s wrist and moves her hand to her cheek for some comfort. Her fingers caress her gently behind her ear and she hums softly in response. Somehow Wonwoo’s scent seems to be more intense than usually today.

“I’m sure you did good. You’re always good.”

Whining, Mingyu turns her head to the side to bite into Wonwoo’s hand. The shriek she receives in response is followed by a laugh, and Mingyu tries to hide her pink cheeks.

-

The rain is still falling when Mingyu is sitting on the desk in her room. The flickering light of the lamp is setting a gloomy mood while she tries to focus on her notes, but essentially her mind keeps circling back to her girlfriend. She would much rather be watching a movie with her and be in her arms, relax and maybe make a little out. Instead she has to waste her time studying for her academic future. Resisting the urge to pick up her phone and call Wonwoo, Mingyu continues to scribble down on her notebook and dream of better times.

-

Mingyu is on her way to the library after her exam. She has a pretty good feeling about it and hopes it isn’t just wishful thinking. When she sits down at one of the vacant tables, she pulls her laptop out of her bag. While her aged laptop turns on, she checks on her phone to text Wonwoo so they can meet for a quick coffee date. However, when she sees the messages she’s received from Wonwoo, her mood drops instantly.

Wonunnie 💜:

I hope your exam went well, sweetheart.

I’m sorry, we can’t meet up the next few days.

I’ll miss you.

It’s not like Wonwoo to cancel on her, and especially not so suddenly. Pouting, Mingyu types into the phone.

Minnie 💚:

noooooo ☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️

why? are you hurt? did something happen

do you hate me

The response comes promptly and Mingyu’s face is instantly burning.

Wonunnie 💜:

Don’t be silly.

I went into rut unexpectedly.

A shiver runs down her spine when she starts thinking about it. They haven’t had sex yet. The most they’ve done was grinding over their clothes and making out. Mingyu had wanted to take things slow and Wonwoo had agreed, but it’s not like she hasn’t thought about it or that she hasn’t touched herself to the thought of Wonwoo before. She wants to ask, wants to offer Wonwoo help, but unfortunately her exams are not over yet. Also keeping up with an alpha in rut when you’re not in heat is tiring even for Mingyu, and she likes to think of herself as a fit person.

Before Mingyu can start ruining her underwear with her slick, another message pops up on her phone’s display.

Wonunnie 💜:

I’ll be thinking of you.

Here’s a playlist I made for you, so you think of me.

Mingyu doesn’t allow herself to start contemplating what Wonwoo is implying with her words, and clicks on the attached link. Despite the open window, the room suddenly feels suffocating when she reads the name of the playlist.

Be my daisy.

She feels her heart squeezing in the best way when she scrolls through the list and sees all the songs that Wonwoo had picked out for her. Pushing her bottom lip out, Mingyu fishes her headphones out and is happy that she remembered to charge them.

Hitting the play button, Mingyu leans her cheek on her palm while she tries her best to pay attention to her notes.

-

That night, Mingyu is alone in their apartment. Ryujin is out of town and Wonwoo, well, she’s preoccupied.

Mingyu is done with studying for tonight and allows herself to come down from the stress a little. She had been listening to Wonwoo’s playlist the whole day on repeat. All she really wanted to do was go over and kiss Wonwoo square on the mouth, tell her how much she adores her, how much she means to her, and how she’s falling head over heels for her. But she can’t.

They texted a little over the day, but Mingyu supposes that her girlfriend is a little busy with her rut. She is worried that she isn’t eating and drinking water enough, so she texts her to remind her of that.

Mingyu is standing in the bathroom, doing her skincare routine and humming along to one of the songs of the playlist, when she thinks she hears a noise — which would be no surprise, considering how poorly isolated the apartment is — from across the wall. She doesn’t pay it any mind and goes back to her business until she hears it again.

She turns the music off, and leans with her ear against the wall. The noise can be heard again, and it sounds like a grunt, deep and kind of struggled. When Mingyu realizes what kind of noises those could be, she steps back, with her cheeks feeling hot. It takes her a second to realize that it’s Wonwoo’s bathroom next to theirs and that the grunts she heard are her girlfriend’s. Her roommate has been out of town for a few days and isn’t supposed to be back until next week.

Hesitantly, Mingyu steps closer to the wall again.

Before she knows what she is doing, Mingyu’s hand has disappeared in her underwear. Her ear stays pressed against the wall, listening to Wonwoo moaning. Mingyu’s fingers brush over her hole and sighs softly when she feels the slick on the pads of her fingers. Wonwoo moans from the other side of the wall, deep and guttural and Mingyu slips one finger inside.

The image of Wonwoo with her cock in her hand, trying to pop a knot all by herself is fuel enough for Mingyu’s mind. But what really gets her to move her finger, and slip a second one in, is the image of her beneath Wonwoo and fucking the knot into her. She hasn’t had sex in a while, and masturbating could only get her so far. Mingyu wants to spend her next heat with Wonwoo, and she hopes that Wonwoo will be ready, too.

Spreading her legs, Mingyu tries to thrust her fingers fast and further in, she flicks her thumb over her clit. It’s not the best, but she still manages to reach her high right when she hears Wonwoo moan a little louder than previously, and she can only assume that she came as well.

While Mingyu washes her hands, mildly horrified and ashamed of herself, she thinks about how this is one of the most perverted things she has ever done, and she’s given someone a hand job in a moving vehicle before. She was young and in pre-heat, sue her.

When Mingyu lies in her bed, Wonwoo sends her a goodnight text, and she can’t help but blush shyly. As she tries to fall asleep, she contemplates if she will ever tell Wonwoo about this.

-

It's Friday, the sun is shining brightly on the blue sky and the exams are finally over. Ahead of Mingyu now lies a week full of doing nothing. On her agenda only two things written: couch time and couch time with Wonwoo. Speaking of Wonwoo, she misses her girlfriend so bad, she is having withdrawals. They texted a little over the few days, but Mingyu knows that her alpha urges have been dominating her being. Mingyu also made sure to wear headphones whenever she went to the bathroom now, because she didn't want to risk hearing Wonwoo again and do something crazy like break the damn wall down.

To celebrate her freedom, Mingyu decides to get herself an iced coffee at the café on campus. Mingyu used to work there in the first two years of university, but her workload got too intense, so she had to give it up in favor of her studies. She doesn't miss the 6 am shifts, but she misses the employees discount.

The line isn't very long at this hour, so Mingyu doesn't have to wait for too long. The girl behind the counter looks like she hasn't slept in three days and Mingyu feels for her. Exam season terrorizes everyone.

“Hi, what can I get for you?”

“Hey, can I get an ice-” she starts, but doesn't get to finish as she gets interrupted by a voice she knows so well behind her.

“Iced latte with three vanilla pumps, please.”

Smiling from ear to ear, Mingyu turns around and wraps her arms tightly around Wonwoo. She doesn't care that they are in public and places a wet smooch on her cheek.

“Unnie! I missed you!” Mingyu pouts, and Wonwoo laughs that soft, melodic laugh that Mingyu had missed so badly.

“I missed you, too, sweetheart.”

The reality check of being out in the open comes in the form of the barista interrupting their reunion.

“Is that all?”

They part, but Mingyu isn't embarrassed enough to not wrap both her arms around Wonwoo’s arm and lean her head on her shoulder while Wonwoo orders her own drink too.

Together they have their drinks in a corner seat in the coffee shop. Mingyu updates Wonwoo on her week and tells her how happy she is to be with her again. Wonwoo looks tired; she probably didn't get much sleep in the past days and Mingyu feels so helpless, not being able to make it easier for her. It's been less than a day since her rut wore off, but Wonwoo tells Mingyu that she only came to the campus to pick her up and that she didn't come in to work today, either.

“Unnie, I really liked the playlist. Are those your favorite songs?”

A pretty blush spreads on Wonwoo’s cheeks, and she ducks her head shyly. Mingyu could kiss her.

“Oh yeah?” Wonwoo asks and Mingyu nods in response, both hands wrapped around the cup. “It’s full of songs that made me think of you.”

Jutting her bottom lip out, Mingyu moves one hand away from the cup to place it on Wonwoo’s nape and pull her closer until she can lean her forehead against hers.

“I love you, Wonwoo,” she presses a kiss against the corner of Wonwoo’s lips which tug up into a smile.

“And I love you, too, Min.”

“Isn't this the most romantic place in the world to tell each other ‘I love you’ for the first time?” It's meant to be a joke to loosen up the mood a little, but Wonwoo looks so serious when she nods.

“Every place on earth is the most romantic place with you.”

-

The next few days Mingyu tries to catch up on her sleep. She's been awake for what feels like three weeks and she desperately needs to recharge her batteries. Wonwoo has to catch up on the work she's missed, so they don't get to spend as much time together as Mingyu would enjoy. On Friday they finally get to have a date night, and they decide to stay in and order food.

“You know,” Mingyu says between the bites on her pizza. “I always wanted to date someone much older than me.”

“A three year age gap hardly classifies as much older. Not at all, actually,” she retorts. Leaning over, she steals one of Mingyu’s mozzarella sticks.

“It does if you have only ever dated people your age.” In her head that sounded like a pretty good argument, and Wonwoo is nice enough to leave her in that belief.

“Mhh, I guess if you look at it that way.”

Wonwoo picks a wet wipe up to clean her hands with before she reaches out to tuck a strand of hair behind Mingyu’s ear. She pinches her cheek lightly and Mingyu wants to bite her.

“Yeah. So you are ancient in my books.”

“Is that so?”

Gently, Wonwoo takes the empty plate from Mingyu and hands her a wet wipe. Wonwoo does so many little things for Mingyu, that she is sure she doesn't even notice but mean so much to Mingyu.

“It would be so hot if you were my professor.” Mingyu takes a hold of Wonwoo’s hand, grinning she presses it against her cheek.

“Your professor?” Wonwoo arches her brow, her hand fully cupping Mingyu’s cheek now.

Humming, Mingyu leans into the touch.

“Yeah. A secret, forbidden relationship sounds really sexy.”

Laughing, Wonwoo leans over to kiss her pink cheek and Mingyu preens at her.

“And in this scenario, where I am ancient and your professor, do you then come to my office to meet me in private?”

Mingyu nods eagerly, excited that Wonwoo is playing along even if she knows it's only to indulge her.

"Mhm. After class, when I’m about to leave, you’d stop me and say something like, ‘Mingyu-ssi, meet me in my office in fifteen minutes.’” Wonwoo laughs again when Mingyu tries to mimic her deep voice.

“What happens when you show up in my office?” A hint of a challenge swings in Wonwoo’s voice when she speaks and Mingyu feels giddy about it.

“Well, when I come in, I’d be locking the door behind me and walk over to your desk. And then…”

And yes, this started off as a little fun and Mingyu was only half serious when she started talking about it, but the more they talk about it, the more it gets her worked up.

“Then?” Wonwoo’s voice comes out strained when she encourages Mingyu softly to continue talking.

“Then,” Mingyu swallows as she looks into Wonwoo’s dark eyes that seem to stare right into her soul. “Then I would push your chair back and do this…”

Instead of finishing her sentence, Mingyu swings her leg over Wonwoo’s lap to sit down on it. Her shorts ride up in the process, exposing her thighs. Automatically her arms wrap around her neck as Wonwoo’s own wrap around her waist, pulling her closer.

Wonwoo looks up at Mingyu, her lips curled up into a little smirk. “What happens next?”

Shaking her head, Mingyu dips her head and claims her girlfriend’s lips in a searing kiss. Her fingers bury in her locks and tug on them as she presses her hips against Wonwoo’s, making her gasp into her mouth.

“This would definitely get me fired if we were to get caught, Mingyu-ssi”, Wonwoo pants softly against Mingyu’s lips. Her hands pull Mingyu down by her hips, letting her feel her growing erection against her covered crotch.

“Unnie,” Mingyu moans softly as she presses her lips against Wonwoo’s neck. “Do you want to know a secret?”

Roaming her hands over Mingyu’s ass, Wonwoo swiftly sneaks her fingers under her shorts to press against her cheeks. “A secret?”

“A dirty one.”

Wonwoo’s hands stop moving. Curious, she looks up at Mingyu, an eyebrow raised at her girlfriend.

“I’m listening.”

The pheromones coming off of Wonwoo are clouding Mingyu’s brain and she has a hard time forming coherent words. If she were clear in her head, Mingyu would probably feel ashamed of what she was about to tell her girlfriend.

Finally, Mingyu manages to sit up straight on Wonwoo’s lap to look at her properly. Her hair is tousled and Mingyu grins knowing it’s her doing.

“You know when you were in your rut, I heard you.”

If Wonwoo had been curious before, she is confused now, not getting what Mingyu is talking about just yet.

“What do you mean?” The squeeze to her hips she receives from Wonwoo encourages her to continue talking.

Taking a deep breath, Mingyu goes on.

“I heard you in the bathroom. I heard you jerking off when you were in your rut.”

Understanding washes over Wonwoo’s face and red takes over her whole skin. Mingyu almost regrets saying anything, but that’s only until the smell of Wonwoo’s arousal grows stronger. For the next few seconds, neither of them says anything and only their breathing can be heard. It’s Mingyu who breaks the silence.

“And I touched myself to your moans. I had my ear pressed against the wall and my fingers buried inside of me.”

Wonwoo’s hands move to Mingyu’s exposed thighs. Her fingers curl almost painfully into them as she emits a low groan.

“Fuck, Mingyu.”

Everything happens so fast from then on.

Wonwoo pulls Mingyu in and crashes their lips so hard together that it almost hurts and Mingyu is sure they will bruise later but can’t worry about right now. Wonwoo’s hands roam up her sides, pushing her shirt up in the process until it curls up under her armpits and exposes the purple bra she is wearing. She feels hot all over her skin and she is starting to get uncomfortable in her underwear.

Mingyu tries to speak, but it’s hard when you have a tongue down your throat, so she can only push herself gently away from Wonwoo to share her thoughts. It works only semi-well because Wonwoo attaches her lips to her neck, sucking and licking on her skin.

“Wonwoo,” she pants softly. Closing her eyes, Mingyu runs her tongue over her bottom lip trying to collect herself enough to talk. The only word she manages to push out is “bedroom”, which is enough for Wonwoo to understand.

Hastily moving off of Wonwoo’s lap to get on her feet, Mingyu holds onto Wonwoo’s thighs for support so she doesn’t land on her butt. Her eyes scan Wonwoo’s appearance. Her hair points in every direction, her chest heaves as she tries to regulate her breath. The only reason why Mingyu doesn’t continue ogling at her cleavage that comes through nicely in the shirt she is wearing, is the tent that has formed on her white shorts. Before she can do something scandalous like sucking her off in the living room, Mingyu grabs her by her hands to pull her onto her feet.

Not wanting to waste any more time, Mingyu drags her to her room. Wonwoo is clear enough to shut the door behind them.

Lacking patience, they skip the romantic act of slowly undressing each other and instead almost rip their clothes off of their bodies. Wonwoo is wearing a mint green colored bra and Mingyu makes a small note in the back of her head to comment later on how they are wearing underwear in each other’s favorite color.

Fully naked Mingyu finally lays in the bed under Wonwoo, whose hard cock presses against her thigh while she has her face buried between Mingyu’s breasts, kissing and biting her skin and driving Mingyu positively crazy. It’s as Wonwoo grinds on her that Mingyu suddenly remembers that she isn’t as prepared for this as she would like to be.

“Oh shit,” she exclaims. Instantly alarmed, Wonwoo lifts her head.

“What? Did I do something wrong?”

“No,” Mingyu all but groans and runs a hand over her face. “Do you have a condom? Because I don’t.”

Sitting up, Wonwoo pats her naked legs and looks over at their scattered clothes on the floor. Her hard cock is curling against her stomach and leaking at the tip. Mingyu whines softly knowing already that she won’t get to feel it tonight either.

“Not on me. In my room…”, Wonwoo doesn’t finish the sentence, doesn’t have to. They both know it’s out of question to run to her apartment and risk running into someone on her way back. Mingyu just recently got off the suppressants since exam season ended and could start her heat anytime. Even though she had imagined their first time together to go a little different, she’d rather push it to a later day than risk a pregnancy so early into their relationship. .

Wonwoo can probably smell the slight disappointment in Mingyu’s scent — she doesn’t try very hard to hide it — when she leans in again and kisses her softly. Her hands run over her sides and up to her chest, wrapping her fingers around her tits, Wonwoo pushes them together. The action makes Mingyu moan softly into her mouth.

“Don’t worry, darling.” Kisses from her shoulder to her neck and up to her jaw and cheek help Mingyu relax. Stopping against the shell of her ear, Wonwoo whispers: “I can make you feel good in other ways.”

Oh, and Mingyu would be a fool if she said no to that. She is so wet, she is sure she will drown in her own slick if Wonwoo doesn't come to her rescue soon.

Once Mingyu nods in response to signal her consent, Wonwoo starts kissing her way from her lips to her neck and down to her breasts again, where she takes her sweet time teasing her nipples with her very skilled tongue. The noises Mingyu make are a mixture of moans and heavy breathing. She's usually on the louder side, but she holds herself back, wanting to hear Wonwoo’s own sounds too.

The farther Wonwoo’s lips wander the harder it gets for Mingyu to keep her moans at a low volume though. Wonwoo nips on her bellybutton as her hands wrap around her thighs, squeezing them gently.

“You should get a piercing here,” she says against Mingyu’s skin, sending a shiver down her spine.

“Aha…” is all Mingyu can say in return breathlessly.

Humming, Wonwoo moves further down, lips pressing against her pubic mound. She lifts Mingyu’s legs to rest them on her shoulders as she gets comfortable. The groan she emits send a vibration through her body.

Mingyu closes her eyes and breathes out shakily when Wonwoo’s tongue laps over her clit. Even though Mingyu knows that Wonwoo is just tasting the waters, it still feels like she's being teased.

“Wonwoo,” she pouts as she clenches around nothing.

Not letting her sulk any longer, Wonwoo wraps her lips around her needy clit to suck on it. Occasionally she flicks the tip of the tongue over it and Mingyu’s moans grow louder simultaneously. Mingyu is having the time of her life and is feeling a little regretful, that she waited this long to get intimate with Wonwoo. But on the other hand she meant too much to Mingyu to rush into sex with her.

Mingyu’s legs fall off of Wonwoo’s shoulders when she spreads them open. Things start to get more heated; Wonwoo spreads her folds with her fingers, pushes her tongue into her and creates a filthy mix of Mingyu’s slick and Wonwoo’s saliva, making Mingyu emit unearthly noises, that Mingyu wasn’t aware she could make.

Mingyu has her fingers deep in Wonwoo’s hair, pulling her head impossibly closer as she eats her out, when she hears a knock at her door. At first she thinks she imagined it in the pheromones loaded room — their mixed scents in an intimate setting are heavier than Mingyu had anticipated — but then a second knock is heard, followed by a concerned “Mingyu?” from behind her door.

Hastily, Mingyu pats at Wonwoo’s arm so she looks up at her. Once she does, Mingyu presses her finger against her lips to indicate for her to stay quiet, followed by her pointing at the closed door.

“Mingyu?” She hears Ryujin’s voice echo through the door again. Mingyu thought she had the apartment to herself tonight, but obviously something got lost in their communication.

“Uh…yeah?” Mingyu’s widen eyes fall back on Wonwoo, who is leaning her cheek against her thigh and looking back at her.

“Are you okay? You sound like you’re in pain.”

“What? I’m not in pain!” Confused, Mingyu meets Wonwoo’s eyes, who is grinning at her. Slowly she starts kissing up her thigh again, inching back closer to her throbbing pussy. She was close to her orgasm when Ryujin decided to interrupt them.

“Oh. You sound the way you do when you have cramps.” And then, “can I come in?”

“No! Ah…” just in that moment, Mingyu finds out how shameless her girlfriend is. Wonwoo decides to flick her thumb over her clit and to make matters worse, she dives her tongue back into her, making it hard for her to form a coherent sentence. “Now is n-not... uhm…not, not good.”

And call her crazy, but she can literally feel Wonwoo grinning against her cunt as she struggles talking to her roommate, who seems to be so adamant to come into her room. Mingyu knows it’s very sweet of her to be looking out for her, but she could’ve picked a better time. Maybe when she doesn’t have her girlfriend’s face between her legs.

It’s quiet for a few moments, and Mingyu thinks she’s left but then she speaks again.

“Oh my God, Mingyu. Is Wonwoo in there?” Mingyu can hear how scandalous she sounds and in that moment Wonwoo presses her tongue further in, making Mingyu moan involuntary.

She thinks she hears her say something along the lines of having to leave, and Mingyu will feel embarrassed, or even ashamed later on, but right now she can’t spare it much thoughts when Wonwoo is going to town on her. Replacing her tongue with her fingers, Wonwoo pumps them in and out of her while her lips wrap around her clit to suck on and flick the tip of her tongue over.

His short nails drag over Wonwoo’s scalp, grinding down on her tongue as whines and whimpers fall off of her lips.

There, unnie, right there! God!” Mingyu holds onto Wonwoo’s hair with both hands to pull herself up when she comes on Wonwoo’s face with a cry of her name, the room reeking of sex and her peach scent.

When Wonwoo lifts her head finally, half of her face is glistening in Mingyu’s release and slick. If all of that isn't obscene enough yet, Mingyu thinks about how she would love to lick her face clean. Next thing Wonwoo does makes Mingyu believe that she can hear her thoughts; she presses their lips together and shoves her tongue into her mouth. It’s nasty in the best way possible. Mingyu’s legs wrap around her waist and she groans softly when she tastes the mix of her slick and Wonwoo’s saliva on her tongue.

Contrary to Mingyu, Wonwoo didn’t orgasm yet. She took care of Mingyu, but left her own needs behind. The only thing Mingyu noticed earlier was that Wonwoo had been grinding against her sheets, but she knows that couldn’t really be all that satisfying, so when Wonwoo grinds against her again, Mingyu can’t really put a blame on her. Her hold around her waist tightens as she lifts her hips up, making it easier for Wonwoo to slide her hard cock between her wet folds. The pheromones Wonwoo releases are strong when she presses her lips against her neck. Mingyu wants her knot so bad, and is so, so close to say fuck it and let her fuck her properly.

Almost, because she doesn’t get to propose anything. Suddenly, Wonwoo stops moving with a grunt and drops down next to Mingyu, causing her to drop her legs down against the mattress in the process. Her bed is entirely too small for two grown people, so they lay pressed together, but Mingyu assumes there’s worse things than being so close to your pretty girlfriend.

“Sorry, darling. It’s hard. In every sense.” Wonwoo’s chuckle is barely audible due to the lack of oxygen her body is working with, leaving Mingyu to whine softly in response.

Shamelessly, Mingyu watches Wonwoo’s chest rise and fall as she tries to catch her breath. Not paying more attention to the lame joke Wonwoo just made, Mingyu is in awe at how perfect her tits look. Wonwoo isn’t one to show much cleavage usually, so Mingyu could only ever guess and fantasize what they look like, but she is more than pleasantly surprised. Without giving it a second thought, Mingyu reaches out and wraps her hand around one of Wonwoo’s breasts. She yelps in surprise when Mingyu squeezes the mound gently like a stress ball, and she almost moans at how soft she feels. She can’t wait to taste them.

As Mingyu runs her thumb over her nipple, ready to start pinching it, Wonwoo wraps her fingers around her wrist and moves it to her lips to kiss the back of her hand.

“I wasn’t done playing,” she protests, but Wonwoo only grins at her in return.

“I’ll let you play in a bit,” Wonwoo promises. “I wanted to ask you something.”

Turning on her side, Mingyu tugs her hand free from Wonwoo’s hold to place it on her stomach. She is resting her head on the edge of the pillow, looking closely at Wonwoo’s face. From this angle she could probably count every single one of her long lashes.

“Do you want me to rate your tongue and finger technique?” Grinning, Mingyu presses her nose against Wonwoo cheek who rolls her eyes playfully in return.

“You can hand me your essay on that later. I-”

“Okay, professor Jeon,” Mingyu interrupts and Wonwoo pinches her side gently. Giggling, Mingyu promises to behave and asks her to continue.

“Earlier, you said you heard me. During my rut, I mean.” Her fingers gently run over Mingyu’s bare arm, leaving goosebumps on her skin in their wake.

“Mhm.”

“So, uhm,” Wonwoo continues. “What exactly did you hear?”

And considering everything that happened so far, Mingyu shouldn’t be so shy about it, but her ears betray her.

“I heard you masturbate. Grunting and groaning. Uhm.”

She tries her hardest to keep the eye contact with Wonwoo, despite wanting to bury her face in her pillow instead. She is being very brave.

“Oh. Is that all?”

Now Mingyu’s interest is piqued at the implication that there's more. Slightly, Mingyu pulls her head back and props herself up on her elbow to get a better look at Wonwoo’s face.

“Is there more?” The shyness Mingyu had been feeling up until now has been instantly transferred over to Wonwoo. She doesn’t say anything for a few moments. Just their breathes can be heard and the hint of embarrassment in Wonwoo’s scent tickles Mingyu’s nose.

“I know this will make me sound like a pervert,” she starts and Mingyu wonders what can possibly be more perverted than what she did. “But I moaned your name when I popped a knot in my fist.”

And there’s many different ways Mingyu could’ve reacted to this information, and Mingyu’s body and brain choose to be aroused by it. Her lips land on Wonwoo’s and her fingers wrap around her hard cock, determined to give her a well deserved orgasm.

-

The next morning Mingyu can’t look Ryujin in the eyes when all three of them are having their coffee in the kitchen. In the clear state of her mind she realizes how embarrassing that was, while Wonwoo acts like nothing has happened. The only thing Ryujin asks is to keep the volume down when she’s around, and Mingyu agrees by nodding.

A few weeks later Mingyu goes into heat and Wonwoo warns Ryujin about it, who is nice enough to spend the following days with her friend. It’s a relief knowing they won’t get interrupted again, especially being aware how territorial alphas can be when their omegas are in heat, and Mingyu really didn’t want to risk unnecessary drama that Wonwoo would later regret.

They had decided to not have sex in the traditional sense until Mingyu goes into heat, and even though it hadn’t been easy for either of them. However, the wait had been totally worth it. Mingyu finally got the knot she had been dreaming about and Wonwoo made her see every single star in existence throughout the three days they had been together in her room, even though she said that she’ll need a few days to recover after trying to keep up with Mingyu.

-

If people would say they are often together, it would’ve been an understatement. They are practically attached to the hip and spend every single second they can together. On the days Mingyu’s classes end early, she goes to Wonwoo’s office to study there until she is done with work, so they can go home together. They are also always in each other’s apartment and don’t sleep separately from one another anymore. Most of the time they are in Wonwoo’s apartment. One evening as they are watching a show in the living room, Yuna walks in to join them.

“You know,” she says when the current episode ends. “You’re always together, you guys should move together already.”

They all laugh about it, understanding that Yuna was just joking, but later that night, when Wonwoo and Mingyu are lying in bed, ready to sleep, Wonwoo brings it up again.

“I think Yuna is right,” she says softly. Wonwoo’s arms are wrapped around Mingyu’s waist and her chin propped up on her shoulder. The soothing pheromones she had been releasing were about to lull Mingyu to sleep.

“Mhm,” smiling, Mingyu turns around in Wonwoo’s hold so she can look at her. She reaches out to brush a few stray hairs away from her face. “You want to share a space with me?”

“What do you think?”

As Mingyu looks at Wonwoo’s pretty face, that can only be seen thanks to the bright moonlight that shines through the window, she thinks that she’s never been in a happier relationship before. They’ve been together for a little over a year now and every single day has been a blessing since then. Every moment spent with Wonwoo is an enrichment for Mingyu. She learns so much from her, and she receives so much love and support from her, Mingyu really couldn’t ask for more.

So for her, the question isn’t hard to answer at all.

“I think that’s a wonderful idea.”

-

A few weeks later they find a new apartment in walking distance from the university. Mingyu is set to graduate next year, but she still appreciates that neither her nor Wonwoo will have to wake up as early as they had to until now. The apartment has two bedrooms and a big balcony, that Mingyu looks forward to lounge on in the summer evenings together with her girlfriend.

They plan on turning one of the bedrooms into a study, but with Mingyu still being a student they take a while to buy the furniture and decoration they want, but that doesn’t bother either of them. The only thing that is important to them is that they get to come home to one another every day. No decoration could replace the feeling of waking up to the love of your life every morning.

-

It’s been two years since Mingyu graduated. She’s got a decent job and her working hours match those of Wonwoo, so they are still able to spend a lot of time together, which really was the most important to her when she applied for jobs. It took her some time to adjust to the workload, but Wonwoo made sure to always take care of her and send her reminders so she doesn’t forget to eat or drink water throughout the day.

They have established a good routine by now. Wonwoo also got a new job and their work places aren't too far away from one another, so on most days they manage to go to and from work together. Their cycles are in sync which means even their time off work aligned perfectly. They work hard at the same time and get to relax together on the weekends, just like today.

It’s Saturday. They have slept in together and Wonwoo prepared breakfast for them. Later Mingyu wants to visit the farmers market with Wonwoo, but beside that, they don't have any big plans.

As they sit at the table, finishing up breakfast, Wonwoo suddenly excuses herself. Mingyu watches her leave, but she returns before she can wonder where she is headed to.

When Wonwoo sits down across from Mingyu, she holds a box in her hands, showing it to Mingyu, who beams at the sight of it.

She places the mug she had been holding down and reaches her hand out in excitement.

Wonwoo had brought back one of the blind boxes Mingyu occasionally buys to treat herself with on a bad day. It was a series of little cat figurines, that Mingyu had almost all — including a few dupes — of. In fact she was missing only one, but was hoping that would change with this new box.

“You know this day started so good already, but now it will be a great day,” she tells Wonwoo excitedly as she waits for her to hand her the box finally.

Instead of putting the box in Mingyu’s open palms, Wonwoo places it on the table and keeps her fingers around it for a little longer.

“I really hope you will be happy with the inside of it,” Wonwoo says softly, a small smile on her lips when her eyes move from the box to lock with Mingyu’s.

For some reason Wonwoo seemed nervous and Mingyu wondered why. She really wanted the last figurine, but it was really no reason to get stressed about it.

“I will. Thank you for getting me this.” Mingyu leans over to kiss Wonwoo’s cheek before she takes the box in her hand.

Sitting back down, she shakes the box next to her ear to try and guess which cat is inside. She tilts her head in confusion when she looks at Wonwoo.

“Seems lighter than usual.”

“Oh yeah? Maybe it's something you don't have yet then.” She has her cheek propped up on her hand, the smile growing wider by the second. Her glasses sit on the tip of her nose, her hair is up in a messy bun and she's — just like Mingyu — still in her pajamas. Mingyu thinks she's the most beautiful person she's ever seen.

“Maybe,” chuckling, Mingyu agrees.

Mingyu can feel Wonwoo’s eyes on her as she starts opening the box. Unbeknownst to her, her heartbeat is suddenly going faster than it ever has before and she wonders if these cats do mean more to her than she thought they did.

Amused with herself, she chuckles again softly and pulls the small black bag out of the box. However, when she feels the bag with her fingers, she notices the unusual shape of it first and then, that the bag isn't sealed.

“It's open?” Looking up, she catches Wonwoo nibbling on her lower lip with her teeth, something she only does when she is nervous.

“Look inside”, she urges Mingyu softly.

It takes Mingyu another second before she opens the bag to peek inside. Not daring to look up at Wonwoo, she fishes the object out of the bag and places it on her palm to take a proper look at it.

“What…” She whispers, barely audible as she looks at the ring in her hand. It's a ring. It's silver and a small gem sits on top of it, reflecting prettily in the sunlight that floods their kitchen.

Finally, she looks up at Wonwoo, who had inched closer to Mingyu, but had been too busy with the ring to notice.

Mingyu’s lips are parted, unable to say anything as a million thoughts and emotions run through her entire body. Wonwoo takes the ring from Mingyu and turns her left hand around so her palm faces down. Her thumbs run over her knuckles as she looks at Mingyu.

“I love you, Mingyu,” she starts gently. “We have been together for four years, and I don't even remember what my life was like before I met you. I don't remember what it's like to not have your scent linger on me, what it feels like to wake up alone in the bed, or what it's like to not have my personal space invaded by you. I forgot why I cherished my alone time or why I wanted to be left alone with my books.

All of those things, and so much more, are things I don't want to remember again. I want to be with you. With you I can be myself, can be who I want to be. We can spend time together but also be together alone when we need it.

You are the best thing that has ever happened to me and I have fallen for you the moment I met you face to face for the first time. I thank whoever is responsible for our paths crossing.

Mingyu, I will promise to you that, for as long as you let me, I will love and cherish you every single second. I will give you everything you ask me for and everything you don't say out loud. I will even buy you a new blind box every day, if that's what you want.

The one, and most important thing, I need to know is; will you please marry me, Kim Mingyu?”

By the time Wonwoo is done speaking, Mingyu’s face is covered in tears. Her cheekbones hurt from the big smile she’s sporting.

“Yes, yes. Of course, yes,” releasing Wonwoo from her misery, Mingyu nods excitedly.

Only now does she notice how much Wonwoo’s hand is trembling as she puts the ring on Mingyu’s finger. It’d be ridiculous to think that Mingyu would say anything but yes.

When the ring finally sits on her finger, Wonwoo squeezes her hand gently. She brings her hand to her her lips to press her lips against the ring. Their eyes meet finally. Wonwoo is practically mirroring Mingyu’s own facial expression.

They take a moment to silently smile bright at each other, happy for what the future has in stock for them. Meeting in the middle, they kiss deeply. Neither of them wants to part, but the need for air makes them.

“You’re stuck with me forever now, I hope you’re aware of that.”

Wonwoo grins. “Sounds like heaven.”

-

In the spring of the following year they get married. It’s a small wedding, surrounded by their close family and friends. Wonwoo looked absolutely stunning in her white wedding dress, Mingyu had a hard time holding herself back from jumping on her in front of everyone. To prevent their pheromones from going wild in front of everybody, they had applied blocking cream. At first Mingyu had been against it, as she finds so much comfort in Wonwoo’s scent and it helps keep her nerves calm, but she’s glad she agreed in the end. She doesn’t want to imagine the things she could’ve embarrassed herself with in front of their families if she didn’t.

They both cried when they said their vows and promised each other to love and support one another until the end. After they exchanged rings and were finally allowed to kiss, Wonwoo kept chanting I love you against her lips. The first dance is really just them holding each other and swaying from side to side to the melody of the tune playing. Mingyu swears she’s never been happier than in that very moment.

-

During their honeymoon, they both go into heat and rut respectively. It doesn’t come to a surprise, as they had specifically planned it to be that way, so they could exchange mating bites soon after their wedding.

Mingyu’s legs are locked around Wonwoo’s waist. She presses on her lower back with the heel of her foot. It’s almost a little painful how their tits press together, but Mingyu won’t complain about it.

“Can I bite you first?”

Wonwoo brings her face to Mingyu’s neck, pressing her nose against it, inhaling her scent. Pushing her hips forward, she pokes the head of her cock against her wet hole. Mingyu is looking forward to the day they can get rid of the stupid condom.

“Mhhh, make sure to do it properly.” With that Wonwoo slips inside of her with another push of her hips.

She sets a steady pace for her thrusts once she’s eased herself in completely and Mingyu has gotten used to the stretch.

Wonwoo grinds her cock between Mingyu’s walls when she squeezes them around it. Both her hands curl in Wonwoo’s hair to pull it closer to her. Tilting her head, Wonwoo bares her neck to her wife. Mingyu runs her tongue over her canines, moaning softly when Wonwoo hits a particular sweet spot inside of her.

Craning her head, Mingyu latches her lips on the junction between her shoulder and her neck, sucking and licking on her skin until she knows a mark is left behind.

“I love you, Wonwoo,” Mingyu all but pants against her neck when Wonwoo thrusts particularly hard into her. She is high on Wonwoo’s pheromones when she huffs a grunt and bares her teeth. When she cums she digs her teeth into Wonwoo, piercing her skin with them and biting hard down.

A painful groan rises from Wonwoo’s chest. Everything is happening fast after that; Wonwoo cums and knots Mingyu, with one hand she grabs a handful of Mingyu’s hair when she releases her skin. Tilting her head, she bares Mingyu’s neck for her and bites down onto her skin.

The pain is sending a shockwave of heat through her entire body and even though she just came, she wants, no needs, to go again. She tries to grind her hips against Wonwoo, but it’s no use as her knot hasn’t subsided yet and can’t really move right now.

She doesn’t notice that Wonwoo had let go of her neck when two palms push her hips against the mattress.

“Hold still, you’ll get hurt.” Her voice sounds rough when she speaks.

“I need you,” comes the response in a whimper. Wonwoo shakes her head and kisses her thoroughly, thumbs drawing circles into his hip bones.

“Soon. Be my good girl now and listen to me.” Wonwoo bites into her lower lip.

It’s not like Mingyu has another choice but to do as she is told. And her good behavior is rewarded, just as Wonwoo had promised her; giving her everything she wanted and more.

A few hours later, after they are both satiated for the time being, they are sitting at the tiny table in their hotel room. They ordered room service, and Wonwoo insisted on feeding her with the fries. Her chair was pressed against hers and her free arm wrapped around Mingyu’s waist. They both had always been touchy, but it seemed to get more as time progresses.

“Will I be dealing with a clingy wife all day?” Mingyu teases Wonwoo, but her wife just grins in return and leans over to kiss her softly.

“The rest of our lives,” she confirms.

-

About three years after their marriage, their first daughter is born. Hyeji is a perfect child. She is kind and loving, and a little naughty, and Mingyu wouldn’t want to trade her for anything in the world. The beginning of their parenthood had been hard. A lot of tears had flown — not just Hyeji, but also her two mothers had been very sensitive and emotional. But Mingyu and Wonwoo had always been a great team, and worked hard, with a lot of patience, to get to the point where they are at today.

Their tiny family consisting of the both of them, their daughter and their cat, Bibimbap, is almost perfect. Almost, the missing piece to complete the puzzle of their life is born on a warm summer day.

The sunlight is peeking through the thin curtains of the hospital room that Mingyu had just closed fully. Unfortunately they didn't really do their job. It was a rather hot day and there was no AC in the room, she was about to melt.

In the tiny rollaway bed lays their newborn baby Jiae, who wasn't even 24 hours old yet. She fell asleep after feeding with a small pout on her lips. Jiae had been cranky for a few hours of her young life as she seemed to have a bit of a stomach issue. Mingyu had sighed, their girl had barely seen the light of life and already has stomach issues — it's obvious that she takes after her mother.

Speaking of, Wonwoo is supposed to be back soon. She had stood next to Mingyu throughout the labor and didn't want to leave after either. She only did to pick up Hyeji from her parents’ house so she could meet her new sister. Wonwoo and Mingyu had both talked about it to Hyeji throughout the pregnancy and read a lot of books, which she loved because having Wonwoo read out to her is her favorite thing.

They planned on having a second baby around the time Hyeji turns four, and indeed, they found out they are expecting on the day before Hyeji turned four years old. Due to Hyeji’s caring nature, they are sure that she will be a great big sister, but Mingyu can't help feel a little anxious about their first meeting.

As all the worst case scenarios start running through her head, she hears a voice behind the door. Not just any voice, but the one she would recognize anywhere in the world.

“Hyeji, we have to be quiet here.” Wonwoo reminds their daughter, even though Mingyu is sure that she has been nothing but on her best behavior.

“Yes, mommy. Can we go in?”

“Yes—wait, no! Let's go wash our hands first or else we can't touch the baby.”

“Oh!”

Mingyu hears their footsteps leaving, and she can't help but giggle at their interaction. A few minutes later, she hears them again.

“Knock first and wait for your Mama to tell you to come in, bunny.”

Hyeji does as she is told and knocks against the door three times. Mingyu pouts a little at how adorable their daughter is.

“Come in,” she calls, not wanting to let them wait any longer.

Mingyu is sitting neatly on the bed, waiting for her wife and daughter to come in.

When the door opens, Hyeji and Wonwoo walk in, both with big smiles on their faces and with a brown plush bunny in Hyeji’s arms. The bunny is half her size and has a red ribbon wrapped around its neck.

“Mama!” Hyeji calls excited and rushes towards her, arms wide open and Mingyu almost starts sobbing when she's finally in her arms. She missed her so bad.

“Hi, my love. How was it at your grandparents’ house?” She brushes her hand over her braided hair that looks a little uneven. Clearly Wonwoo’s work.

While Hyeji tells Mingyu all about her sleepover with her grandparents and her cousins, Wonwoo walks over to Mingyu to kiss the top of her head. Briefly, Mingyu averts her eyes from Hyeji to smile at Wonwoo who walks over to check on Jiae.

“And I got the baby this bunny,” she proudly holds the plushie up. Smiling, Mingyu brushes her thumb over her cheek.

“That's so nice of you, sweetheart. Did mommy tell you your sister’s name yet?”

From where Wonwoo is standing next to the crib, she shakes her head. “No, I wanted you to do it.”

With big expecting eyes, Hyeji looks at Mingyu. “What is it, mama?”

“We named her Jiae, just like you wanted.”

Hyeji looks back and forth between them, smiling big and then hugging Mingyu tightly.

“I want to see her and give her the bunny!”

Mingyu is about to tell her that she is sleeping right now, when she suddenly starts squeaking, letting her family know that she's awake.

Cooing, Wonwoo picks her up in her arms. She kisses her little head, just like she used to do with Hyeji when she was a baby.

“Hey, little bug,” she says to Jiae, and then she turns to Hyeji. “Please go sit on the armchair, so you can hold her, bunny.”

Even though it is hard to tell yet, she thinks that Jiae resembles Wonwoo a lot. They have the same eyes and same little pout.

With a little bit of Mingyu’s assistance, Hyeji climbs off the bed and onto the chair. She sits down next to Hyeji, watching as Wonwoo gently lays Jiae in her arms and guides Hyeji’s hands to hold her securely.

“Say hello to your sister, Hyeji.”

Hyeji is smiling widely at her sister and ever so carefully leans down to kiss her forehead.

“Hello Jiae. I’m your big sister, Hyeji. We have a cat at home, her name is Bibimbap. And also, I brought you a bunny because mommy calls me bunny.”

Mingyu can't help but laugh at the swarm of words that leave her mouth. She's just like Mingyu — always has a lot to say.

Wonwoo takes a picture of their children and sends it to their family group chat. At some point Jiae wants to be fed and Hyeji is hungry too, and Wonwoo hands Hyeji and Mingyu the lunchboxes she has prepared. Even though Wonwoo isn't the biggest cook, she knows how to prepare the best lunchboxes and is always in charge for them.

A few hours later, Wonwoo is putting Jiae back to sleep in her crib and Hyeji is also taking a nap on Mingyu’s bed, holding the bunny tightly in her hold. Her mothers had told her that Jiae is a little too small to have it, so Hyeji said she will take care of it until she is big enough. It was an adorable sight.

Wonwoo pulls on Mingyu’s hand and makes her sit down on her lap while they watch their daughters sleep. While Wonwoo caresses her back, she hums softly and leans against her head.

“Our genes are a great combination,” Wonwoo says and grins.

“I have to agree with you,” Mingyu returns the grin and rewards Wonwoo with a kiss to her cheek.

“Can I get anything for you, darling?” Wonwoo asks softly. She takes a moment to think about it.

As Mingyu looks at their daughters and at her wife, she thinks about everything that has lead her to this day. Every little decision she took in life, small or big, as insignificant as it might have appeared to her, all of them brought her to this day. She has been blessed with the perfect wife and with the best children, everything and more she had dreamed of.

“I’ve got everything.”
