When Hermione Granger stays behind to save Severus Snape during the final battle, both are attacked by a pair of Voldemort’s feral vampires. The feed is interrupted before they can be drained, and the venom takes hold, turning them instead.
Now fugitives, they flee the ruins of Britain to keep others safe from the infection they carry. Haunted by hunger, Hermione and Severus must learn to master what they have become… or lose themselves entirely to it.
What begins as a desperate search for a cure soon twists into something darker: a slow, consuming bond between two souls caught between life and death.
