And the universe despised us

Summary:

*Beep* *Beep* *Beep*

The same light sound kept repeating over and over again filling the bunker to it's cold stone walls.
The sound usually stayed for a few minutes, then vanishing once the corpse it was attached to was filled with life again. Then why- asked Fluixon, why has it been playing for an hour now?
where was his *friend's* soul?
why hasn't it arrived yet?

or

saps can't be revived and flux hits rock bottom (he's desperate and inventing new ways of yearning)

Work Text:

*Beep* *Beep* *Beep*

The same light sound kept repeating over and over again filling the bunker to it's cold stone walls. The sound usually stayed for a few minutes, then vanishing once the corpse it was attached to was filled with life again. Then why- asked Fluixon, why has it been playing for an hour now?
where was his friend's soul, why hasn't it arrived yet? was it his fault for messing up the machine, his only way to bring his other half back? or was it just Fate?

Flux didn't wanted answers. He wanted *him*.
even if it means going to afterlife himself and dragging him back.

He hung his head low. sinking his back onto the glass pane of the enormous machine and pulling all his energy into hold himself together. he wanted to breakdown. He had to. It felt like the strings in his heart would break all together if held in any longer, but for all it's worth, at this moment, he wanted to be dead. Not because he didn't love life, but because it was the only way to see him again. His only hope after everything is lost.
He felt that if he couldn't bring his friend back then he might as well go to him himself, and who was to stop him?

If fate didn't want them together, then he'd rewrite fate. If Imperia didn't want them together, then he'd take them down, and if life didn't want them together, then he's gladly end it. No life was more precious than his love, and No death was more painful than living without him.

He clearly remembers the day it happened. A simple day for everyone. A special one for them. Saps had always wanted to open a restaurant, and Flux would follow them anywhere, so, he decided to follow his purpose and build his best friend his restaurant.
It was a new start, a humble beginning. Something that turned into a horror not just for flux, but for the entire snow district.

Flux had watched with his hands shackled and throat sore from yelling as Solev had made Saps an example of his cruelty. an example for everyone to see and fear,

Just for some snowballs.

11 snowballs and his entire life had been taken.

Flux had spent the next week complaining and yelling and drowning himself in grief and misery. It got to a point where he didn't care what about what he said and had publicly spoken insults of Solev in a local pub. He got in trouble, but he couldn't care less. All he felt was hopelessness, a feeling he knew too well by then.

Now, he just looks back and chuckles at how stupid it was.
Out of everyone it was Saps, out of everything it was just some snowballs, and out of every punishment it was death. The universe *really* despised them.

Of every month he had spent after his beloved's death he had lived in utter hopelessness and nothing else. He never looked back at the half-constructed restaurant or the crater where he had been mercilessly taken away from him.

Hopelessness, Grief, Misery, Loneliness

It surrounded his life like a dark cloud and probably the only time he had felt free from this cloud was a few days ago. When Dr Briarrose, a member of the Ministry of health, had taken to the side of the rebels and taken with herself and opportunity for flux. Project Lazarus may had been over, but the resurrection machine was still working.
The magnitude at which hope had taken over flux that day could not have been measured even by heavens.

but of course, remember? the universe Really despised them.
Saps could not be revived. No matter how many times they fixed the machine it just wouldn't. His friend's corpse in his arms, soaked with dried blood and pale as a ghost, looked up at him with pleading eyes, But Flux could do nothing. *Again*

Now, he had come a full circle

Hopelessness, Grief, Misery, Loneliness

But this time, He would embrace it, and make sure he drown and suffocates in it until his last breath is taken.
