Chapter Text

Playgrounds. One of the many factions of Inpherno that is known for destruction, explosions and gangs. Just living here is already dangerous but Inphernals living here are used to it. From phighting back or demons who disturb everybody else. It's just a commonality at this point.

So what does the daily lives of demons living here look like?

Somewhere in the Skatepark

"CHECK OUT THESE MOVES YOU GUYS!" Skateboard shouts, trying to grab the attention of his friends who are looking a bit tired. 

There Boombox chilling at the bench with Coil getting annoyed by the constant shouts of his hed horned friend...

"We know Skate, you have been showing the same trick over and over again and-." Coil pauses annoyingly.

"And?" Skate curiously asking while still riding on his skateboard doing weird air stunts.

"And failing many more times." Coil added as he expected what would happen to his careless friend.

CRASH

Skateboard crashes as he loses focus trying to talk to Coil. Skate wipes his clothes and looks for potential wounds on his body. Coil expected this and Boombox, even seeing this multiple times today is still worried.

"How are ya gonna make a new trick if ya keep losing focus." Coil sighs in disappointment of his ill-witted friend while Skate is just embarrassingly smiling through Coil's words.

While Skateboard is getting scolded. Boombox butted into their bickering saying. "Hey Skate, careful man, we don't wanna see ya hurt. Aaaaand also we also don't want the bandage set we just bought, emptied on the first day y'know." Coil nodded at Boom's remarks.

"Also, quite a sidenote, it's almost getting late soooooo.. What to grab snacks before we get home?

"Hell yeah Boom!"

"Let's gooooooooo!" "That's our Boom!"

Both Skate and Coil rush to the exit of the skatepark while Boombox is still lagging behind.

"Wait wait, not everything is on me, Waaaiit-" Panicky Boom said while trying to catch up.....

Walking through the streets trying to look for a food stall.

Skate who is currently bored rambles "Mann this is going nowhere, where are the stalls when we need em..." 

"They'll show up eventually, just hold on." Boom replied with Skateboard being annoyed for the long walk. 

"Oh yeah? Bored already? What don't we race to see who can find one first." Coil scoffed while wearing his hood, as the crowds may see him, a guy with a bounty on his head. 

"A race? Heck yeah, I'll find one before you even leave!"

"Ha, As if I'm letting you do that. You're on!" Both of em stated their remarks with victory in mind. 

"Wait you guys are seriously gonna rac-" Not even finishing his sentence, Both Coil and Skate, summoned their gears and started Coil started to count. "On three. One." 

"Oh sfoth you really guys are racing." Boom added while Skate holds his shoulder "C'mon Boom it'll be fun! You want to get left behind again?" "Ha! No way, I'm leaving you guys to dust!" Boom stated that while summoning his gear.

Coil grins as he notices Boombox joining the fun. "Heh two."

"Hell yeah I'm gonna find a stall firs-"

"THREE!"

And due to his cockiness, Skateboard, started late.

Despite that he's just more desperate to win!

"Nope! I'm not letting you guys win!"

He starts to accelerate overtaking Boom and Coil in just seconds.

"Heh, as if I'm letting you win!" With a grin in his face, he used gravity to jump on top of the buildings and use the aerial view to find a stall quicker.

Boombox.... He does have a speed boost too, but it's not enough to keep up with the other two but he is already happy seeing his friends happy.

Skateboard who was currently the farthest, is just skating through the alleyways like nothing.

"WOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOO!"

He was fast, so fast even, that he didn't notice the buildings around him. Not even noticing if he actually found a food stall....

Coil on the other hand is parkour the rooftops, using speed mode to gain an advantage 

"Heh, I'll win this race."

As both of them speed through the whole playground.

A notification on their respective phones.

As the two speedsters arrived at the stall. They see Boom waving at them.

Boombox won the race....

When both Coil and Skate were speeding up to find a stall.

Boombox CANNOT really catch up to the two, especially at their full speed.

Catching his breath, he found a stall when it was getting ready to close.

The other two were so fast that they didn't even notice.

Maybe not being so fast has its advantages afterall.

Anddd that's how Boom won the race.

The other two laughed it off while still being tried from the race.

"Yoo Boom you got us good." Coil tapping Boombox on the back with a grin in his face.

"That was radical mann." Skate said that while bumping him in a friendly tease.

As they were having fun the owner gave a signal that they were ready to order.

Boom was taking their order while Coil saw that the owner was annoyed at them.

He just shrugs it off while looking at Skate who was still exhausted from the race..... 

"Three Cheese burgers and three Cola please." 

"Alright that will be 62 bux please."

Boom looks at his wallet and sighs as his money is only 40 bux." Hey guys. y'all got 22 bux, the total is 62. Y'know I can't treat you all the time."

Coil shrugs "Nope I'm in the same situation as you, left my other bux back home, only 13 bu-"

He was stopped mid sentence, butted by Skate with a smile on his face."

"Here hundred bux, all in me!" Slammed his bux on the counter. 

It was just complete silence ...

"Oooooooookeeeey, your weird, your order will arrive, I guess."

The owner didn't look em in the eye, grabbed the 100 bux and his bag going at the back of the stall.

"Hey man! That was rude!" Skate explained to which Boom comforted him. "It's alright man, don't mind em."

Something's not right Coil thought to himself...

The owner grabbed his bag and didn't give any change to Skate....

"Hey Skate, did you get your change?"  

"Huh?"

"Skateboard, did you get your change?"

"No..." As soon as Skate said that, the back door of the stall was already shut with nobody inside.... It was too late..

Yeah they were robbed. 

The trio looked from behind to see the owner making a run for it.

Then they look at each other giving each other nods as they badassly summon their gears.

The owner is still running as fast as he can while still having time to summon their gear until a hooded figure enters a small alleyway with him..

"Not cool mate! You ain't just gonna run off with our friend's money just like that!" Coil dashes in front of the owner and slams the ground, knocking em off their feet.

With Skate and Boom catching up.

"Not rad dude ditching your customers like that!"

"We won't hurt you if you just give up the bux!"

The owner scoffed "Tsk, Your friend here I already knocked me off! Not listening to ya liars!" 

"Well man, I gotta find a way to get a thief like you cornered y'know!" 

The owner scoffs once more and throws his smoke bomb on the ground causing everyone to lose sight and cough...

"Where did he go?! That ain't cool ma-" 

Boom covers Skate's mouth while trying to listen to the owner.

"Shhhhh Skate I think I hear him" as he said that softly...

There was a sound at the wall ladder, trying to get up.

They were invisible but they ain't quiet.

Boombox used a sonic wave to the wall and it revealed the owner was trying to flee. 

"Try not to dance and fall!" As Boom pulled the guy towards them.

The owner fell and as a last ditch effort he dashes while holding tightly in his bag.

Boom and Coil took chase while being taunted 

"Tsk tsk, I'm not letting some IDIOTS! Catch me!"

"Idiots? More like you're the more idiotic one. We're not letting you off our sight-"

Coil was interrupted mid-sentence then someone dashed forward without thinking.

"ON IT!"

Without hesitation Skate rushes to the running guy.

*Crash* 

And bashing him....

"SKAAATE-" 

"Chill Boom he's just out cold "

The guy was just lying down with the bag....

Boom then proceeds to get the 100 bux back until he is greeted with more bux inside....

"Welp I guess his master plan was working until we showed up." After stating that Boom then proceeds to give the hundred bux back to Skate who responded.

"Can we have the whole bag?"

"If you want a warden chasing you like I do sure." 

"Nah Skate, I'll bring that to a station tomorrow, it's getting late."

"Not even a small amount?" Skate then proceeds to give em puppy eyes

"Not even a small amount" Coil responded 

Coil rolled

his eyes and Boombox sighed.

"Well this day is just tiring annndddd I'm still hungry I'll just cook some back at the apartment." 

"Yeah man that is waaaaay better than an empty food stall." Coil added.

Chapter Text

Somewhere in Crossroads in a familiar cafe....

"YOU GUYS DID WHAT!?" A demon with a green long pointy green horn exclaimed with bubbly excitement hearing the story of what happened.

"Shuri, do the dishes, it's not gonna be cleaned by itself and lunch is almost there....." Said by the demon with blue cat-like horns who's a bit annoyed...

"Aw mannn, Can I at least listen to some more????" Shuri said that while giving the blue horned demon puppy dog eyes..

"Nah Sling you gotta let em listen to the whole story. The guy is hooked already." Boombox said that while giving a smile.

Skateboard, who is telling the story nodded along with Coil who is eating a muffin..

"Yeah sure.... Just make sure we have plates ready to use once the lunch rush arrives...." Sling annoyed, looked at the storytellers and back at the exited Shuri who is gonna burst in happiness 

"YYYYYEEEEE-" Shuri was then interrupted by a demon who grabbed him with a wooden arm and yeeted him inside the kitchen.

The demon with the wooden arm and pink horns then came out the kitchen who also joined in the conversation.

"Wow isn't Playgrounds already full of those kinds of guys, I thought you guys would already get used to-." 

Then she gave a hand gesture "weird shady establishments."

"Eh Vine, we're used to it, besides we got Skate's money back." Coil responded while he wiped his mouth. 

"And a bag full of bux" Skateboard also added...

"Mhm mhm, this is why yall should visit often, 15 discount here in my caf-"

"Wait what bag?" Vine asked interrupting Sling,

Upon her statement, Coil and Skateboard look at Boom who is still bringing the bag with him...

"Oh... Right.. I was about to send this to the station but Skateboard insisted on going to the cafe first."

Boombox responded scratching his head feeling embarrassed.

"Don't worry Vine. We will bring this to the station afterwards." Boombox assured Vine who was still stunned about them taking the bag in thr first place..

"Wait, how much?" Sling responded

"A lot man, check it out" Coil gathered everyone and opened the bag."

Inside was a stack of bux that is quite a lot...

"Oh my, that's a lot." Vine widens her eyes and covers her mouth in shock.

Slingshot on the other hand was counting the stack of bux from a far, not touching the probably 'stolen' bux.

"Pretty radical isn't it, if only we can bring this with us-"

Skate was then interrupted with a push from Boom,

"Nah I don't want you guys to be chased like I do already, If possible I want the two of you safe. Besides, this money is probably scammed by that no good owner." Coil added while looking at Skate who does want the money for themselves..

Slingshot and Vine Staff waved goodbye to the trio who were going towards the bus stop, going back home to Playgrounds..

"Man I'm still exhausted from yesterday, it was a nice exercise tho." Coil stated, starting the conversation. Having both of his arms at the back of his head

"Yeah man, that was epic man!"

Skate responded with a big smile.

"Right, you ramming to people while still having a bunch of wounds. That's epic for you?" Sarcasticly stated by Boom.

"Yeah man, me giving him the final blow was awesome."

"Nah, it's more like being reckless..."

While Boombox and Skateboard are bickering, Coil noticed footsteps, more than just one coming closer to them.

"Wait hold on, quiet guys."

All of the footsteps stopped as the trio also stopped....

"I hear painting, it was faint painting." Boombox quietly responded while Coil and Skate are still on high alert.

Coil wears his hood to not be seen and all of them are ready to summon their gears....

Nothing, since it was still in the intense sunny afternoon no one in their right mind would ambush in an open area right? That was the thoughts of everyone..

"Mann Boom, is there a station here at Crossroads. I think we need to go there... Now.. Skateboard worryingly said while the trio walked away from that alleyway fast.

"There is, the problem, Coil is wanted by the warden there." Boombox replied.

"Y'mean Ban Hammer? That fat guy can't catch up with me anyways. Besides you're not wanted there right Boom? It'll be alright." Coil answered.

"Suuureeeee, let's just be quic-"

Boom replied but all of a sudden, a grenade was launched in their direction..

"LOOK OUT!" Coil holds the others to duck the two of them.

"Oh SFOTH, that was close!" Boom grunts 

They quickly got back off their feet and started to run.

"Tsk tsk, this will be interesting." Coil summons his gears with both Boom and Skate following along.

They quickly sped up with two chasers on their backs. 

"THIS IS THE SECOND DAY IN A ROW WE'RE RUNNING!" Boom exclaimed while noticing someone from the rooftops.

"WATCH OUT SNIPER INCOMING."

They ducked in time with the sniper missing their shots.

"Nice one call Boom! That was a close one!" Skate complimented Boom.

"Hey Skate, you're the fastest, can you bring the bag to the station?"

"No way, I was fined during a phight!"

Boombox sighed while gazing at Coil who is looking ready for a phight..

"Hey you two. Can you cover me! I'll go ahead and bring this damn bag."

"Alright man!" 

"We got this but careful Boom!"

Boombox nodded, layed a speed boost and runs as fast as he can.

The other two got ready for a phight. Two against three it seems.

"Heh, come on Skate!"

"Huh????? Alreaddy? Got it!"

Coil and Skateboard rushes to the two pursuiters while avoiding paintballs from the sniper.

"Tsk tsk get em gang!" Exclaimed by the big guy of the group.

"Got it boss!" "Alright boss Equinox!"

....

"DONT CALL ME BY NAME DUMMY!"

The so-called boss with his dual blades rushes toward Coil and attacks him. Coil blocked his attacks.

"Heh, two blades? Are you somehow a Biograft?" Coil taunted while giving a grin.

"Don't you dare compare me to a scrap metal you thief!"

The boss attacked him and Coil kept exchanging blows.

"Oh yeah, you sure you ain't one yourself?"

That line got the boss pissed off and attacked him quickly out of spite.

It landed a bit on Coil's chest, he dodged too late. 

Coil grunts but still gives a grin on his face

"Oh someone's mad?, Bring it on!"

He wipes his chest for a bit and gets ready to deal more blows.

While they kept exchanging attacks, Skateboard was dealing with an explosive attacker and a sniper.

"This would be cool! TRY AND CATCH MEEEE!!!" Skate excitedly dashes to his on the ground enemy while avoiding the grandes thrown at him..

"Paintball! He's too fa-"

CRASH

Skate ram towards the poor guy and smacked him with his board.

"Heh! Too fast for you that you can't even finish your sentence?!" 

"GRENADE!"

The sniper grunts and calls his leader who is having an equal duel with Coil.

"BOSS THEY'RE ONLY DISTRACTIONS THE OTHER ONE HAS THE BUX BAG!"

Upon hearing this the Boss quickly changed the target, he quickly ignored Coil and headed straight towards the alleyway they last saw Boom.

"Tsk. Not good man! The distraction didn't last long!"

Skateboard after making sure the so-called Granade is weakened, he quickly used his aerial tricks and used the nearby trash box as a ramp.

"WATCH OUT FROM ABOVE!!" 

"Wait where did he go- Urkkkk-"

Skate slammed the sniper and deals more smacks to make sure he stays down..

"That trick was awesome!"

"SKATE! BOOM IN DANGER!"

"Aw man. The distraction didn't work."

"It kinda did but come on man, we gotta catch up!"

The boss was quick too, he ran and dashed quickly so that he could almost catch up to Boom

"Tsk tsk, thought you can outsmart me you little twerp." The boss changed his stance and dashes towards Boombox

He missed

Boom jumps himself the help of his boombox to dodge the attack and quickly runs right after.

"They let one escape?! Wait the pursuer might have caught up to our plan. 

Mann, right after it's going so well..."

Boom thought to himself while still keeping his composure and kept boosting himself.

It was a race against who will come first, Boombox reaching the station? The boss getting the bag? Or Skate and Coil catching up to the boss...

"I see it! The station!" Boombox sighed in relief while still running away.

The station currently had two demons outside, a police demon and a big armoured demon right beside him.

"Yo what's with the explosion Bloxxer?" 

"It was near the alleyway at the entrance way to the Playgrounds warden sir!"

"Tsk tsk, Playgrounders messing around again... I'll take care of them!"

"Wait, Warden sir -"

The boss got desperate, he changed his stance and is planning to launch at Boom to finally end this chase and get 'his' bag.

At a glance, Boombox saw the boss trying to strike him from the back-

Is it over?

"Oomf" "ugahh" "heavvyyy."

"You ain't gonna hurt my friend like that you crab!"

"Heh, that was close and radical!"

Coil and Skateboard got to the boss first and tackled him to the floor..

While Boombox is unscathed, bumped into someone big....

"Uh oh..." Skateboard then looked at the demon who Boombox bumped into.

Upon looking above, Boombox is trembling upon knowing who he unknowingly bumped into...

"Heya, are you in a chase?" The big guy said, he had a really deep voice.

"Yyyyyeeeeeeesssssss????" Boom said worryingly 

"Wanna go to jail for arson?" The guy replied.

"Uhhh noooooo? That ain't us.....

Just take this bag full of bux we don't want NOTHING to do with it".

Boombox proceeded to give the bag to the warden, the bag looked ragged than how they once saw it with the stall owner...

"Uh huh... Y'all didn't steal this from a store? Bank?"

"Oh we got it from a scamming food stall!" Skateboard replied 

"Skate! You're not supposed to talk to him" Coil whispers.

"Oh right.." Skate scratches his head in shame

"Hold on a minute aren't you the mosquito who skates inside the mall? And you beside him.. aren't you the 'Crystal Criminal' Blackrock been wanting?

........

Both Skate and Coil took the boss from the ground, threw em to the warden, got Boombox from the ground and ran away.....

"See ya! Ban Hammer! It's almost late!!" Coil grins and leaves....

The police demon from a while back catches up to Ban Hammer and also cuffs the boss of the gang....

"Um sir aren't you gonna chase them."

"Nah they're different, I'll get em next time! Besides they got this bag full of bux that is probably scammed bux."

"Umm sir, it's half full."

"HUH?"

Night, at Slingshot Cafe....

"Are you sure this is gonna work Shuri... I swear if the cafe is destroyed in the process I'll make you fix it!" Slingshot stated while him, Shuri, Vine and another demon with red long horns all waited for the cafe doors to open with their respective gears in hand....

"Shuri you better not let us get killed in the process, I can't heal dead inphernals!" Vine staff gazed at Shuriken who is very confident about his plan...

"Nah is this plan is foul proof! I won't fail us" Shuriken exclaimed.

"Do not worry, I'll keep you guys safe" The red horn demon assured them...

"Thank you Katana" Vine replied...

"Aye boss said from the station that the bag was half full the moment those twerps left this cafe..."

"Those twerps did pack a punch too, That fast guy is scary."

"The guy who fought boss was also strong he was equal in strength I saw their phight at the rooftop....

Anyways this is the cafe.."

"Ya sure Paintball?" 

"Definitely, I noticed it too when they left the same cafe."

"Alright, I mean it's night so we can rob them 'our' money back! They won't even have a chance to react too!"

Grenade opened the cafe doors...

It might be the worst choice they have made with their life......

"Honestly I'm surprised this worked..." Slingshot said that while Katana uses his spare rope to tie the two gangsters...

"They're all out cold. I'll bring them to the station with me and Hyperlazer.. Don't worry about us.."

Katana then tightened the rope as Hyperlazer was drinking at the corner of the cafe....

"Oh yeah Hyper, why didn't you join us?" Shuri looked at the Helmet guy...

"It's quite out of place for me to join.. besides my gear is better in long range...." Hyperlazer replied... 

"It makes us happy if Katana is at peace with you." Vine Staff smiles

"Yeah we barely see him have a good time too but anyways.. We should not forget who brought us in... this.... situation in the First! Place!" Slingshot exclaimed angerly while looking at Shuriken....

"Y'know Shuri if you did this again I'll make sure to feed you to my venomous plants" Vine staff gives an menacing aura while being behind Shuriken

Shuri looks scarily slowly from behind "Wait! Sis! Nooooo pleaseeee don't!"

The cafe is just full of scolding Shuriken while Katana gives a small laugh at the chaos that transpired....

Then there is Hyperlazer, looking at the commotion.

"Despite being Blackrockian, I'm quite interested in the other factions. I can only learn due to my work and my drinking buddy...."

....

"I wonder what the daily lives of the other faction residents are..."
