I skipped Fictober prompt #8 for the moment, since it wasn't 'speaking' to me. I may or may not come back to it!

Work Text:

The village was recently deserted, cooking fires still smoldered Teyla lifted a beast-hide revealing a buried food cache.

"They didn't even touch it!" she said. "If they fled, they would take food."

"Ronon, check the perimeter. See if you can find if they left on foot," John ordered.

John and Rodney scouted the village, looking for refugees or survivors.

"Nothing," Ronon reported tersely.

"Damn. Looks like another culling," John sighed.

"What are the Wraith up to?" Rodney asked, frustrated. "This is the fourth village they've taken."

"That we found," John added.

"Something big is happening," Ronon said. Teyla nodded agreement.

I have no idea what's going on with the Wraith. The prompts sometimes write themselves without me... LOL
