Robin and Anna Supports

Summary:

A support conversation chain for Robin/Glenn and Anna.

Notes:

Why make a character playable if you're not gonna give them supports? Guess I gotta do everything in this damn town myself

Okay, I'm gonna be real with y'all. I did not expect the direction this chain went, especially the A-support -- cos we all know how Anna is -- but I decided "Y'know what, let's cook first and see if the food is any good" and surprisingly I don't hate it. Anna's the last person I would expect Robin to have that type of a conversation with -- Mercedes comes to mind -- but hey, an opportunity to make Anna a little less one-dimensional is always a good thing, so I'll take it!

Can occur in any route. Dialogue differences account for the following:
- Clearing Awakening xenologues
- A named potential spouse for Robin
- A non-Crimson Flower run

Chapter 1: C-Support

Notes:

Available in both parts

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

[Music: Respite and Sunlight]

[Scene: Marketplace]

[Anna enters]

Merchant Anna, smiling
Anna:
Come again soon!

[Robin enters]

Robin, sneering
Robin:
Is that...? Anna?

Merchant Anna, default
Anna:
Oh! Hello, Robin. It's nice to finally meet you.

Robin, smiling
Robin:
Heh, monastery gossip travels fast, doesn't it?

Merchant Anna, default
Anna:
Yes, but also no.

Robin, default
Robin:
I don't follow.

Merchant Anna, smiling
Anna:
What, you think I don't keep up with my sisters?

Robin, sneering
Robin:
...Now I feel stupid. I should've known you were still
   in contact with them somehow.

Merchant Anna, sad
Anna:
Of course! I may not have seen them in a while, but
we send letters, so I know what they're up to.

Robin, default
Robin:
All of them?

Merchant Anna, default
Anna:
Well, most. One of them is commanding an elite
army. A couple of them work at resorts.

[If Summer Scramble and Hot-Spring Scramble have been completed]
      Merchant Anna, default
      Anna:
I believe you've met them, yes?

      Robin, sneering
      Robin:
      Hahaha... Yes, I have.

Merchant Anna, default
Anna:
Another's even been plying her trade somewhere in
   Nohr.

Merchant Anna, sad
Anna:
Or was it Hoshido?

Robin, sneering
Robin:
Whoa whoa whoa, Nohr? Hoshido? I thought they
   were a myth.

Merchant Anna, angry
Anna:
Just because a place is hard to get to doesn't mean it's
   a myth.

Robin, default
Robin:
Huh. Perhaps I should take a visit when I've got time.

Robin, grimacing + sweat
Robin:
And if I could figure out how to get there.

Merchant Anna, smiling
Anna:
I'd tell you, but that's an Anna trade secret!

Robin, sneering
Robin:
Because of course it is.

Merchant Anna, default
Anna:
Ah, but listen to me prattle! What brings you to my
   shop today?

Robin, default
Robin:
I... Actually, I'm not sure.

Merchant Anna, default
Anna:
Well, since you're here, would you like to peruse my
   stock?

Robin, smiling
Robin:
Sure, why not? Would you happen to have...

[Fade]

Robin and Anna have attained support level C.

Notes:

When you've met as many Annas as Robin has in Awakening, it becomes easy to spot one and get used to the fact that you're speaking to a different Anna almost every time

Chapter 2: B-Support

Notes:

Available in both parts

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

[Music: A Gentle Breeze]

[Scene: Dining Hall]

[Robin and Anna enter]

Robin, default
Robin:
Hey, Anna. Do you mind if I ask you a random
   question?

      [If Robin married Anna]                                                      [Otherwise]
Merchant Anna, smiling                                                               Merchant Anna, smiling
      Anna:                                                                                Anna:
Anything for my brother-in-law. What is it?                       Anything for the hero of Ylisse. What is it?

Robin, sneering
Robin:
Why is your hair pink? Every other Anna I've met,
   it's been red.

Merchant Anna, sad
Anna:
Oh, that. Blame the sunbleaching, I guess.

Merchant Anna, angry
Anna:
To be honest, I have something of a love-hate
   relationship with it.
I mean, yeah, it does help me stand out whenever me
and my sisters have a chance to get together...

Merchant Anna, sad
Anna:
But it's also a constant reminder that I need to put up
some sort of shade over my stand.
I know it's gotta be done, but the cost of materials,
not to mention finding the time...

Robin, smiling
Robin:
If you want, I could help build one for you.

Merchant Anna, surprised
Anna:
Really?

Robin, smiling
Robin:
Yeah. I've really only built anything in miniature,
but it shouldn't be hard to scale up with some
   adjustments to the calculations.

Merchant Anna, surprised
Anna:
You'd really do that for me?

      [If Robin married Anna]                                                      [Otherwise]
      Robin, smiling                                                               Robin, smiling
      Robin:                                                                               Robin:
Anything for my sister-in-law.                                           Anything for a friend.

Merchant Anna, blushing
Anna:
Thanks, Robin. I'll write up a supply list for you after
   dinner.

Robin, smiling
Robin:
Sounds good.

[Robin leaves]

Merchant Anna, default
Anna:
He's a kind one, I'll give him that.

Merchant Anna, smiling
Anna:
And I certainly won't turn down free labour.

[Fade]

Robin and Anna have attained support level B.

Notes:

Was she being genuine or trying to get a favour out of him? The answer is yes

Chapter 3: A-Support

Notes:

Available in part 2 only

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

[Music: Broken Routine]

[Scene: Cathedral]

[Anna enters]

Trickster Anna, sad
Anna:
...

[Robin enters]

Robin, default
Robin:
Hm? Anna? You're... praying?

Trickster Anna, sad
Anna:
Mmhm. Not just for good sales today, but also for the
   safety of the soldiers here.

Robin, default
Robin:
Oh. I admit, I didn't take you for the religious type.

Trickster Anna, angry
Anna:
Not many of us are, if I'm honest. We come from a
   rather secular family.

Trickster Anna, default
Anna:
It should come as no surprise to you, but those few
other sisters who took to religion all follow the divine
   dragon, Naga.

Trickster Anna, angry
Anna:
The rest don't give two coins for faith.

Trickster Anna, sad
Anna:
And that just leaves me, the sole Anna who believes
in the teachings of the Goddess.

Robin, grimacing + sweat
Robin:
That must be difficult on you.

Trickster Anna, sad
Anna:
Yes and no. Some have side-eyed me, but it's not
something we tend to talk about, so it doesn't go any
   further than that.
We usually discuss business profits or world events.

Robin, sneering
Robin:
Hmm...

Trickster Anna, surprised
Anna:
Robin?

Robin, sneering
Robin:
Sorry, just thinking about something.

Trickster Anna, default
Anna:
Like what?

Robin, default
Robin:
You know I'm from Faerghus, right?

Trickster Anna, default
Anna:
So I've heard.

Robin, sneering
Robin:
Faerghus has a pretty close association with the
Church of Seiros, and I can imagine I've attended
   church services before.

Robin, grimacing + sweat
Robin:
But...

Trickster Anna, sad
Anna:
You don't feel a connection with the Goddess?

Robin, sneering
Robin:
Right on the money.

Trickster Anna, smiling
Anna:
As I always am.

Robin, grimacing + sweat
Robin:
In fact, I'm not sure if I ever did, and if I did, I
   certainly don't now.

Trickster Anna, sad
Anna:
Look, Robin. I'm no spiritual advisor, but in my
   experience, religion is very personal.

Trickster Anna, angry
Anna:
If you feel drawn to a different path, no sane person
would try to pull you away from it.

Robin, grimacing + sweat
Robin:
I think the problem is less prosyletising and more...

Robin, default
Robin:
I don't know how to put it into words.

Robin, sneering
Robin:
Like... how does the Goddess feel about it?

[If Seteth is alive and recruited]                                          [Otherwise]
Trickster Anna, sad                                                               Trickster Anna, sad
      Anna:                                                                                Anna:
That sounds like a conversation to have with Seteth.         Only she would know, I suppose.

Trickster Anna, default
Anna:
But hey, if you ask me, if Naga's who you're
   following now, I don't think she'll mind.

Robin, default
Robin:
You really think so?

Trickster Anna, smiling
Anna:
I'd bet good money on it.

Robin, smiling
Robin:
...Thanks, Anna.

[Fade]

Robin and Anna have attained support level A.

Notes:

Let's be real, it's nice to have an Anna conversation that focuses on something other than money
