Chapter Text
Although it didn’t matter anymore, Hua Yong has always felt like he belonged to one Alpha. So he feels quite disgusted when a B-Class Alpha, who, to Hua Yong, smells like rotten flower fruits, smiles at him and offers to take his hand as he steps down the stairs.
Hua Yong resists the urge to wrinkle his nose, and forces a polite smile on his lips. Hua Sheng nuzzles in his Mama’s neck, sleeping deeply.
“Thank you, you’re so kind, but I am fine.” Hua Yong says, his voice sickly sweet, even to his own ears.
He hopes the Alpha takes the hint, and will be left alone, but she doesn’t. She steps in front of him, and with her heels, she’s a head taller than Hua Yong’s tired, slightly slouched form. He has to look up to her, the sun shining harshly in his eyes.
“It must be hard for you, carrying your luggage and your adorable little son with you. Let me help you.” the B-Class Alpha insists, smiling with her red-tainted lips at him, her hand coming up like she expects Hua Yong to accept it just like that.
Hua Yong is tired, and his palms are sweaty– one wrapped around his suitcase's metal handle, and the other clutching Little Peanut’s stuffed tiger toy. His son has always been on the smaller side, since he didn’t get any of his Alpha parent’s pheromones when he was in Hua Yong’s womb, or even when he was growing up. But Hua Yong has been carrying him in his arms since they landed, and while he did all the work getting their small amount of luggage.
None of that matters to him. He knew what would happen when he decided to give birth to his son, and he’s been dealing with everything on his own for three years now. A 12 hour flight to another country –where his Alpha lived, unaware of Hua Yong or their Little Peanut’s existence – wouldn’t make him want to change anything. But he was a little annoyed at the fact that another Alpha had dared to call Hua Sheng ‘Adorable’.
Hua Yong wrapped his arm under Little Peanut’s body more protectively, and looked the Alpha up and down. “Don’t you have your own luggage?” he asked the Alpha, his tone ruder than more direct than before, his polite smile long gone from his pink lips.
The Alpha stopped smiling as well, her hand – decorated with long, black nails– dropping. She opened her mouth, a frown forming between her eyebrows, but Hua Yong spoke sooner.
“I’m sorry, but my Alpha is waiting for me. Thank you for your offer.” Hua Yong said, not bothering to spare another glance at the annoying Alpha as he started walking, dragging his heavy suitcase behind him.
Finding a cab was hell– people kept looking at him, and the sun was too hot, making his white, thin shirt cling to his body, exposing his form. He didn’t care about that– Hua Yong was used to people always looking at him, whether it was pity or awe or jealousy, but he didn’t like it when people looked at his son. His son, Little Peanut, looked too much like his Alpha parent, and Hua Yong never liked it when people would stare at his Alpha, either.
Moreso, he was worried about the sun shining directly onto Little Peanut’s back. Hua Yong tried to shield him as best as he could– his son was prone to fevers and colds, and Hua Yong really didn’t want him to get sick when they’d barely landed on this foreign place. Hua Yong had too much to do– making their new place suitable for living, and finding a daycare he could afford so he could put Hua Sheng somewhere safe when he was working. He preferred it if he didn’t have to worry about a sick child.
Eventually, when he found a cab, Hua Yong sat in the back and gave the driver the address. He hadn’t seen the place before, unfortunately, but Shen Wenlang had agreed to check it and confirm that he hadn’t gotten scammed. Hua Yong hated Shen Wenlang doing anything for him, but the S-Class Alpha was the only person that he could trust, and Hua Sheng loved his godfather as well, and Hua Yong had a child, now, so he couldn’t keep being stubborn when he needed help. Although, he drew the line when Shen Wenlang had insisted that the neighborhood Hua Yong had found and rented a tiny apartment with his savings, wasn’t a suitable place for a single Omega mother. Shen Wenlang had offered to give him one of his own places, but Hua Yong had lived alone and on his own for years now. He didn’t need an Alpha to help him take care of his child. The fact that he had accepted to work for Shen Wenlang so he wouldn’t have to worry about finding a job as well, bothered him enough.
Hua Sheng was a comfortable weight on the Omega’s lap. He smoothed Little Peanut’s hair, dragging his fair fingers through his son’s soft hair, tucking them behind his tiny ears. Little Peanut was the only thing he had left from his Alpha. Hua Yong adored him with all of his heart.
They passed the city in a blur. Hua Yong kept his eyes on the window, looking at the scenery, wondering where his Alpha might be. The driver kept looking at them in the mirror. Hua Yong could feel his gaze.
“Are you sure the address you gave me is the right one, sir?” the driver spoke, and Hua Yong sighed, tired.
He leaned his head against the backseat. Hua Sheng, in his sleeping state, had wrapped his tiny hand around his mother’s fingers, holding onto Hua Yong tightly.
“Yes, I’m fairly sure.” the Omega spoke, his words short and final, hoping for the driver to take the hint and stop talking.
“I know that neighborhood, it’s no place for a single Omega with a child…” the driver kept grating Hua Yong’s nerves with his annoying words.
The Omega raised his head, his eyebrow moving up, as he wrapped his arms more tightly around his son. His thin, heart-shaped lips were pulled back in a snare, his typical reaction wherever his son was concerned. “Why would you assume that I am single?” Hua Yong said, his eyes narrowed and spiteful.
The driver's eyes widened as he stole his gaze and looked at the road ahead. They were stuck in the traffic, and every second felt more suffocating to Hua Yong.
“Well, I– How do I put it_” the murmured, the tip of his ears red.
Hua Yong rolled his eyes. Little Peanut was starting to awake, his senses sensitive to every little change in his mother’s scent or posture. The Omega started rocking his body, dragging his fingers through his son’s hair, trying to comfort him. He couldn’t afford to release his soothing pheromones like he would usually do when it was just the two of them.
“Mommy?” Hua Sheng whispered, blinking sleep out of his tired eyes as he looked up at the Omega.
Hua Yong smiled despite himself, brushing Little Peanut’s hair out of his big, dark eyes. “Hush, go back to sleep, Little Peanut.”
His son hadn’t gotten much rest on the plane, it being his first time on one.
Hua Sheng took his Omega parent’s white shirt between his fingers, holding him tightly. “Are we there yet?”
Hua Yong pressed his lips together, glaring at the driver, who was yet again staring at them. He kissed his Son’s hair before whispering to him, “Not yet, Baobei, but we will get there soon. So go back to sleep for now, okay? You have to help mommy later.”
Hua Sheng smiled sleepily, feeling safe with his mother holding him in his arms. “Okay, mommy, I promise I’ll help you.”
Little Peanut fell back asleep in seconds, and Hua Yong stopped smiling.
“I will pay you double if you stop talking, sir. Thank you.” the Omega said, his voice cold and almost daring for someone of his status.
Hua Yong really couldn’t afford to make an offer that generous, but he really didn’t want to keep talking to annoying people anymore. He had a mild headache, and his feet hurt, and he really didn’t know what he was supposed to do in this big, new city. He missed his Alpha, but that was nothing new, because he had been missing him for the past three years, always thinking about him, not knowing if the Alpha even remembered him.

His landlord was a surprisingly nice, old Beta, who didn’t try to ask him useless questions and helped him carry his suitcase to the fourth floor. She seemed uninterested in him or his son, and only wanted him to pay the rent on time, which Hua Yong was really thankful for.
Hua Sheng was fully awake by the time that Hua Yong closed the door behind them, and squirmed to be put down. Hua Yong did as his son wanted, his forearm numb and throbbing.
Little peanut didn’t even wait for his mother to take his shoes off, as he ran around the cardboard littering around the small living room. Hua Yong didn’t have the heart to tell him off, since the place was i dire need of dusting already. But he couldn’t let him off that easily, since it might have become a habit in the future of his Little Peanut.
“Hua Sheng, next time, please wait for me to take off your shoes first.” the Omega said to his child, his tone soft but firm.
Hua Sheng stopped in his place, his already big eyes turning even bigger as he stared at his parent before looking at his still shoe-clad feet. Then, the sweet Little Peanut smiled sheepishly.
Hua Yong, not able to stop himself, smiled back at his adorable son and nodded his head, signaling to him that he could continue what he was doing. Little Peanut’s grin turned bigger, and he turned his back to his mother, running off to the old, rattly window in the middle of the living room’s wall. He stood on his tiptoes, his fingers holding the window’s edge as he tried to look outside.
“Mama, this place is really huge!” his Little Peanut exclaimed, his childish voice excited and happy.
Something clenched in Hua Yong’s chest as he resisted the urge to tell Little Peanut to step away from the window, an image of his son falling out of it flashing through his mind. But Little Peanut sounded excited, and Hua Yong didn’t really want to make the smile fall off his son’s face.
The tiny apartment that Hua Yong was able to rent, unlike what Hua Sheng believed, wasn’t really big. It was smaller than their home back in county P, and older, with the paint peeled off the walls and the floor creaking with every step Hua Yong took. But he couldn’t afford someplace better– moving to another country, and having their small amount of belongings shipped off to the new place took enough money for Hua Yong to stay awake some nights and make himself sick with worry. He had to sell some things and give up on other things, but he made it work on his own, without needing much help from other people.
Making sure that the window had rails and was safely closed, Hua Yong ruffled Little Peanut’s hair before moving around so he could check other places in the apartment. Their new home had only one bedroom, but Hua Yong didn’t mind it much, because now he didn’t have to wake up in the middle of the night and check Hua Sheng’s bed to make sure his son was still breathing, or hadn’t disappeared from his room without Hua Yong noticing.
The room also had a closet, which didn’t seem to have enough space for all of their clothes, but Hua Yong didn’t mind.
Then there was the bathroom, with a working toilet, sink and shower. The kitchen had a stove, refrigerator and an old, wooden table with two seats that seemed like they were barely standing on their legs. Hua Yong made a mental note to make sure they were safe before letting Hua Sheng sit on them.
There was an old, used couch in the living room as well, which had lost some of its color and didn’t really seem comfortable enough to sit on. Hua Yong had told Shen Wenlang that he would throw away anything the S-Class Alpha would buy for him or his son in their place, so it meant that this couch, that kitchen table and the refrigerator were all part of the apartment itself. Besides, he doubted the proud Alpha would buy old, second-hand stuff for his somewhat childhood friend and his godson.
Hua Yong needed to clean this place.
He kneeled in front of his Little Peanut, and smiled when he saw his son’s eyes shining. Hua Sheng had taken after his Alpha parent completely, and it was something that Hua Yong took great pride in.
He brushed Little Peanut’s hair out of his eyes. “A’Sheng, do you like our new home?” he asked his son softly, already knowing the answer.
Little Peanut nodded his head. “I really like it, mommy. I think I’ll be really happy here!” Hua Sheng said, throwing his arms around his Omega parent’s neck, hugging him tightly.
Hua Yong’s heart beat softly. “I’m glad, A’Sheng.”
“But… When will we go back to our real home?” Hua Sheng asked, his voice lacking the previous excitement.
Hua Sheng stilled, a frown tugging at his lips.”What do you mean? Don’t you like our home here?”
Little Peanut shook his head, hugging his mother tightly. “No, I do. But I like our other home more, mommy.”
Hua sighed. “Oh, Little Peanut… I’m sorry to say this, but I don’t think we’ll ever go back to our old home.” he says softly.
Hua Sheng’s hold got loosened on his mother. “Oh,” the child says, his tone sad and detached.
Hua Yong caressed his son’s back, holding him closely. “When we were there, I told you to say goodbye to that place, didn’t I?”
Hua Sheng didn’t say anything, just kept on holding onto his Omega parent.
Hua Yong hummed, “Speak up, Little Peanut.”
“Uh huh.” The little kid said stubbornly. “What about my toys?”
Hua Yong chuckled slightly. Kids were really easy to please. “Your toys are right here, A’Sheng. Did you really think mommy would forget your beloved toys?”
“And my blanket?” Hua Sheng kept asking.
The Omega rolled his eyes, still caressing his son’s back. “Your blanket is right here, too.”
“And my coloring books? What about them?”
Hua Yong leaned back on his heels, making his son look into his eyes. Little Peanut’s eyes were red-rimmed with unshed tears that he was holding back stubbornly. Hua Yong’s smile got softer.
“Mommy brought everything that A’Sheng loves. Didn’t A’Sheng say he really likes this place? Now that A’Sheng’s favorite things are also here, he has to really, really love this place.” he said, his tone teasing as he pinched Little Peanut’s soft cheek between his fingers.
It seemed that Hua Sheng was thinking about it. He sniffed, pouting. “You’re lying to me, mommy.”
Hua Yong gasped, “I would never lie to my Little Peanut.”
His son pouted even more, his bottom lip jutting out, trembling like he was close to crying. “You promise?”
Hua Yong nodded solemnly, “I pinky promise.” the Omega said, holding his pinky finger to his son.
Hua Sheng wrapped his own finger around his mother’s, holding it and not letting it go. “Okay,” he nodded with all his childish seriousness. “I believe you.”
Hua Yong smiled brightly, leaning so he could kiss his Little Peanut’s cheek. “Are you still sad?” he asked his son, hoping he could hear a good answer.
Hua Sheng shook his head, his soft hair falling into his eyes. “No. My toys and blanket and coloring books are here. Mommy is here with me, too, so I won’t be sad.” he said, sniffing again.
Hua Yong’s heart melted. That was all he needed, too. Just being with his son, who looked like Hua Yong’s alpha, made him happy.

Hua Yong didn’t really know where to begin.
To unpack, he needed to clean the place first. The floor and bed frame and the closet were covered in dust, as well as the cabinets and the kitchen table. To clean those up, he needed cleaning supplies which he didn’t have. Besides, Little Peanut was hungry and they had eaten all the snacks and food that Hua Yong had packed on the plane.
Hua Yong wasn’t the best mother Little Peanut could hope for, but he never let his child stay hungry for long.
So he took out the warmer clothes from the suitcase so he could wrap Hua Sheng in something thick enough to protect him from the chilly weather at night, and put on his shoes.
He held Little Peanut’s hand tightly in his own as they climbed down the stairs one by one, Hua Sheng counting them loudly. It was dark outside, and a few street lamps flickered on and off. Hua Yong didn’t really know where he was headed, or if he could find a grocery store close to this place. He didn’t want to leave the apartment, but he needed things. He made sure his phone and his keys were safely in his pocket, and checked to see if Hua Sheng’s zipper was still up.
Hua Sheng skipped his steps beside him, singing a happy kids’ song that he had learned from the TV.
“This is where we’re going to live from now on, Hua Sheng. Look around so you won’t get lost.” Hua Yong instructed softly.
He would never let Hua Sheng go outside on his own, never, but he was always worried. His son looked up just like his mother said.
The street they lived in was dark, with even darker alleyways all around them. It made Hua Yong nervous, even though there wasn’t anyone around to throw them unwanted looks.
“A’Sheng, do you want me to carry you?” Hua Yong asked his son suddenly.
Little Peanut shook his head, looking up at his mother. “No, mommy, thank you!”
Hua Yong hummed, squeezing his son’s hand tighter. “Okay.” he said, a nervous feeling in his chest.
They walk for a few more seconds. Hua Yong couldn’t take it anymore, he knelt and scooped up Hua Sheng in his arms. Hua Sheng, being so used to it, wrapped his arms and legs around Hua Yong’s body.
He giggled, delighted. “You wanted to carry me, didn’t you, mommy?” he said, still giggling, his childish voice soothing a little of Hua Yong’s worries.
He nodded, forcing himself to smile. “I did, Little Peanut.”
Having his son in his arms made him feel more at ease, though he still took bigger steps so he could get out of the darker parts of the street faster. He wouldn’t ever get out of the apartment when it was this dark again.
They found a grocery store a few minutes later. It wasn’t that big, and it didn’t have many of Hua Sheng’s favorite snacks that Hua Yong could afford. He bought the necessary things to feed Hua Sheng for the night and clean the place enough so he could sleep comfortably.
The walk back to the apartment was more stressful; Hua Yong’s hands were filled with heavy grocery bags, and he refused to put Hua Sheng down. He turned a corner by mistake, and they were momentarily lost.
Hua Yong struggled to keep his scent under control, even though his stomach was filled with nervous knots. Hua Sheng, in his childish world, was unaware of his Omega parent’s worries.
“Mommy, look! There’s a cat!” Hua Sheng exclaimed loudly, and Hua Yong looked around, his hand cold, worried that someone might have heard them.
Shen Wenlang, and the taxi driver’s words about how this neighborhood was unfit and an Omega with a child, rang in his ears.
“Can I pet it?” Hua Sheng asked, struggling to be let down.
Hua Yong tried to hold him in his arms. “A’Sheng, please stop moving.” he said, panicked, the plastic bags in his hands moving around with Hua Sheng’s little kids.
“I want to pet the cat, mommy! Can I? Can I?” Hua Sheng paid his mother no mind, and kicked a little more, leaning over his mother’s arms so he could put his feet on the ground.
Hua Yong gritted his teeth together, his temper flaring beyond his control. “A’Sheng, behave, please. I need to find our way back.” He forced himself to keep his down and his tone calm, but Hua Sheng wasn’t listening to him.
“But I want to go to the cat! Put me down, mommy, I don’t want to be carried by you anymore!” Hua sheng whined, still moving around in his mother’s arms.
Hua Yong’s patience wore thin. “Hua Sheng, stop this childish behavior right now!” he snapped at his son, worry and paranoia making him lose control.
To his satisfaction, Hua Sheng stopped moving around in his arms, and stilled. He stared at his mother’s delicate features with big, shocked eyes.
“Sorry, mom.” Hua Sheng said, quite, his voice teary and sad.
Hua Yong pressed his lips together. His headache was worse now, and a little bit of his pheromones had leaked out of his scent glands, bitter with stress. He swallowed, refusing to look at the child in his arms as he searched around them to make sure no one was there.
He started walking again. “I don’t want to hear another word until we get back to our home, do you understand me, Little Peanut?” the Omega said curtly, his heart beating fast in his chest. At that moment, he wanted nothing more than to reach back home, with his child safe in his arms.
Little Peanut nodded his head. As his mother walked, he kept his eyes on the cat behind them.
To Hua Yong’s relief, they reached back home without any incident. He put Hua Sheng down and allowed him to climb the stairs on his own. Hua Yong walked behind him, using his body as a shield in case Hua Sheng misstepped and tripped.
When they were safely inside the apartment, Hua Yong locked the door and put one of the heavier boxes behind it. He helped Hua Sheng out of his clothes, and put on his favorite pajamas before fishing one of his unfinished coloring books and handing it to him with his coloring pencils. Hua Sheng was quiet the whole time, muttering small thank yous and nothing more.
When Hua Yong made sure there was a clean spot for Hua Sheng to sit and color his book, he went to the kitchen and leaned against the wall, trying to hold himself together as his eyes burned.
He never regretted having Hua Sheng. His Little Peanut was the only thing that his Alpha gave him before discarding him cruelly, and Hua Yong was grateful for his son’s existence with all of his heart. But sometimes, everything felt so scary that Hua Yong could only feel so hopeless, wishing for his cruel Alpha to come back to him and make things easier.
Hua Yong had no time to cry or dwell on the shortcomings of his life, so he took a deep breath and started making dinner. He decided on something simple, so he could put Little Peanut to sleep sooner and get on with unpacking.
When dinner was ready, he called his son, who padded into the kitchen with quiet steps.
Hua Yong had already checked the strength of the chairs, so he told Little Peanut to sit.
Hua Yong didn’t want to eat, his appetite gone with tiredness and stress, so he just sat and watched Hua Sheng. When Little Peanut was done with his dinner, he thanked his mother. Then he got up from his seat, and stood in front of Hua Yong, wrinkling his pajama shirt between his fingers, looking down at his feet.
“I’m sorry I didn’t listen to you, mom.” Hua Sheng said, his voice small and sad.
His Little Peanut never took well to his mother being upset with him.
Hua Yong sighed, his heart heavy. “No, I shouldn’t have been mean to you, Little Peanut. You didn’t do anything wrong.”
Hua Sheng pouted, and looked up. His eyes were teary.
Hua Yong smiled. “Can you forgive mommy?” he said, opening his arms for his Little Peanut.
His son threw himself at him. He nuzzled in his mother’s neck, and Hua Yong released his soothing pheromones. It made Hua Sheng sleepy.
_____________________
It was almost morning when Hua Yong laid down beside his son. His back creaked in protest, and the smell of cleaning supplies wouldn’t leave his nose. He had tried his best to clean every little spot of the apartment, but he needed rest as well, since the upcoming day was a busy day for him. He needed to find a daycare for Hua Sheng, somewhere he could trust to put his son in, though he doubted he could find such a place.
His phone had died, so he closed his eyes as he waited for it to charge, trying to relax his body. The sound of traffic outside was foreign to him.
When he turned on his phone, he was instantly annoyed as he saw Shen Wenlang’s text messages.
I told you to call me when your plane landed. I couldn’t care less about you, Hua Yong, but I hope my godson is okay.
I’m serious, give me a call.
Seriously, Hua Yong, I regret ever knowing you.
Then, there were a few missed calls, which Hua Yong was pleased about. Shen Wenlang didn’t need to worry about Hua Yong, or his son. He put his phone away and wrapped his arms around his son, breathing in his fresh, childish pheromones.
Hua Yong felt like he had closed his eyes only for a few seconds when his alarm rang. His headache wasn’t any better than the night before.
He washed up and prepared breakfast before waking Hua Sheng up. His son was always cheery in the morning, and loved breakfast more than any other meal so he ate everything Hua Yong would prepare for him. He dressed Hua Sheng and himself. Since he had to go to the HS company for his first day of work, he chose to wear the white, soft suit he owned.
Finding a daycare for Hua Sheng took more time than he intended, which meant he would be late for work, but Hua Yong didn’t care about that as much as he cared about leaving his son alone in an unknown place.
Hua Sheng seemed excited. His mother had told him about it beforehand. Here, he would learn many things and find friends his own age. He didn’t cry when Hua Yong hugged him goodbye and told him to eat all of his food and listen to everything his teachers tell him, even though Hua Yong himself felt like crying.
The HS company was a tall, big building with shining windows, and Hua Yong felt slightly annoyed at the fact that he had to work under Shen Wenlang, as one of his secretaries, even though he should’ve been grateful, because thanks to Shen Wenlang, he didn’t need to worry about finding a job with enough payment that could keep Hua Sheng fed.
When he was directed to the floor where Shen Wenlang’s office was located, Hua Yong took a deep breath and entered. There were multiple desks, with employees occupying them and moving around in a hurry. Hua Yong took unsure steps, feeling out of place.
A few of the employees noticed him, looking at him from the corner of their eyes, staring at his delicate face and the black collar around his neck, sensing his soft, flowery orchid scent.
“An Omega?” he heard their voices, and laced his fingers together, his throat closing up.
“Here? He’s out of his mind, doesn’t he know that president Shen–”
“Today, of all days? Poor Omega, I almost feel bad about–”
Hua Yong wanted to kill Shen Wenlang. Yes, he was quite aware of the nasty knowledge about the S-Class Alpha, about how he despised Omegas and never allowed them near himself. Couldn’t Shen Wenlang’s pea-sized brain think about the fact that he had to inform his employees that a new Omega secretary__
“Excuse me, how can I help you?” a soft, polite voice took Hua Yong out of his angry thoughts, and he turned around.
The person who had talked to him, seemed to be a Beta man, tall and skinny, with thin-framed glasses perched on his straight nose. His full, pink lips were forming a small smile and his eyes seemed kind and welcoming, if not a bit confused.
This must be Gao Tu, the Beta secretary that Shen Wenlang never got tired of mentioning his name.
Hua Yong widened his eyes, taking the appearance of a scared, innocent Omega that always favored him in situations like this. Deep down, he was thinking about the ways he could kill Shen Wenlang with.
He bowed slightly, his hands clasped formally in front of his body. “Uh, I’m sorry, but I’ve been told I could meet president Shen here.”
He stood straight after finishing his sentence, a hesitant smile on his lips. The Beta didn’t lose his professionalism, still smiling kindly at him, though he must’ve been confused about the fact that Shen Wenlang had allowed an Omega to have a meeting with him.
“You’ve been informed correctly,” Gao Tu answered with a soft voice, as if he was trying not to spook the Omega. “Can I have your name, please? That way, I can check with president Shen if he was expecting you.”
The Omega tilted his head, acting coy. The worry in his eyes was evident.
Gao Tu was quick to make his intentions clear, “I’m Gao Tu, president Shen’s head secretary. I usually handle his meetings.”
The Omega widened his eyes, bowing again. Embarrassment making his cheeks red, his ethereal features more captivating than before.
“Forgive my rudeness, Mr. Gao. My name is Hua Yong, and from now on, I’ll be working under you.” the Omega said, his voice soft and melodious.
Gau To couldn’t think straight, his heart hammering in his chest. An Omega, this beautiful and soft, with such a delicate scent was going to work right under president Shen’s closest secretaries. How could this be?
Still, Gao Tu kept his cool professionalism, and nodded his head with a smile. “Pleasure to meet you, Mr. Hua. Please wait here for a few seconds.”
Hua Yong gave a soft smile, watching as Gao Tu walked to his desk and picked up the office phone. His manners were soft, unhurried and sure, like he knew his place in this space. Hua Yong tilted his head, ignoring the voices behind him as he looked at the Beta with curiosity.
A few moments later, Gao Tu walked to him, nodding his head as he mentioned Hua Yong to follow him. He opened Shen Wenlang’s big, glass doors, and stepped inside before him.
“Thank you, Gao Tu, you may leave now.” Shen Wenlang said cooly, not looking up from the papers he was reading even once the Beta was done announcing Hua Yong’s arrival.
Hua Yong could see the hesitance on Gao Tu’s face as the Beta threw him a hurried look, but it was gone within a second. Gao Tu bowed politely, and then closed the door behind him with a soft click. When it was just the two of them, Hua Yong’s shoulders dropped. He walked to Shen Wenlang’s desk.
“Shen Wenlang, you idiot.” the Omega hissed, annoyed.
Shen Wenlang, who was used to being called that by the feisty Omega, didn’t bother looking at him.
“Hua Yong, you’re late.” the S-Class Alpha drawled lazily. “Don’t make a habit of it if you intend to keep your job here.”
Hua Yong huffed, rolling his eyes. “Please, you were the one who was begging me to work here.”
Shen Wenlang looked up, his dark eyes sharp and annoyed. “What would you do if I had not given you this position, huh? Put aside your stupid arrogance and think about your son_”
Hua Yong took a step closer, gritting his teeth together. “Don’t you dare bring my son into everything I do, Shen Wenlang. I will gouge your eyes out.”
The S-Class Alpha wrinkled his nose, throwing his papers on the desk as he got up from his leather chair to put some distance between himself and the Omega. “You were the one who named me his godfather, Hua Yong. And besides, control your disgusting flowery scent when you’re here. I don’t want to keep smelling it.”
Hua Yong bit his lip, sitting comfortably on the S-Class Alpha’s chair. “You have to get used to it, you loser Alpha. Couldn’t you tell your employees that an Omega will be working on this floor? I looked like a clown when I came here, they kept looking and whispering things.”
Shen Wenlang seemed annoyed by the fact that Hua Yong had shamelessly taken a seat on the CEO’s chair, but he let it slide, already nursing a small headache when he still had that important meeting waiting for him.
He took a seat on the edge of his desk, looking down at the Omega with a frown. “I don’t need to inform my employees about my decisions, and I also don’t need to answer to you, you little psycho.”
Hua Yong just rolled his eyes, and took a paper from the desk to study it. Shen Wenlang did not bother taking it from him, since he knew he could trust the Omega, instead, he took the time to study Hua Yong’s face closely.
The Omega had an ethereal beauty, the kind that made all genders swoon at his feet. And the important thing was that this little psycho beauty knew how to use it to his advantage, with Shen Wenlang being the only exception to falling for his schemes. Though, Hua Yong had changed ever since he had Little Peanut, something that never failed to amaze Shen Welang because Hua Yong always reminded Shen Wenlang of the fact that he didn’t like Omegas for a reason.
“Have you handled everything?” the S-Class Alpha asked the Omega, his mind flying over to his adorable godson.
The Omega merely hummed, not gracing Shen Wenlang with an answer.
Shen Wenlang’s patience was wearing thin. “Did you find the daycare I recommended for Hua Sheng?”
The Omega clenched his jaw. “No.”
Shen Welang raised his eyebrows. “Why not? It’s the best daycare you could find here.”
Hua Yong refused to glare at the S-Class Alpha, not wanting to show his annoyance at the words he was about to say. “I couldn’t afford it.” the Omega said, his tone casual.
Shen Wenlang couldn’t stop himself, “Hua Yong, you arrogant fool!” the S-Class Alpha raised his voice, unable to keep his temper under check.
The Omega raised an eyebrow, his eyes cold and his delicate features emotionless. “Shen Wenlang, control yourself. We’re at work.” Hua Yong said, mocking, but the fact was that he was seething under his cool facade.
Shen Wenlang paid him no mind. “I already said I would pay for everything Little Peanut needed_”
Hua Yong pressed his lips together, frustrated and angry. He grabbed the S-Class Alpha’s tailored suit between his fingers and dragged him closer, their faces inches apart. The Omega’s eyes were red with angry, helpless tears as he spoke, “Shen Wenlang, how many times do I need to tell you that my son doesn’t need your disgusting, humiliating charity?”
Shen Wenlang gritted his teeth. This Omega’s idiocy was beyond him, really.
“You’re not who you used to be, Hua Yong, and you do not have what you used to have anymore, but you seem to keep forgetting that.”
The Omega clenched the S-Class Alpha’s expensive suit more tightly, like he had the intentions of ripping it apart. “I will kill you if you keep running that mouth of yours.” the orchid-scented Omega threatened.
The truth was, Hua Yong was really feeling frustrated with himself. These past couple of weeks were extremely stressful for him, as he was planning to leave the country that he had grown up in, and make a home for himself and his son in the city that his Alpha lived in. Hua Yong had always known that he didn’t have the means to let his Alpha’s child live how he was deserving of, but he also never let his son feel in need of something. Yesterday’s tiring events, the messy state that his new home was in, his little fight with his son last night, the cruel fact that Hua Sheng was with strangers and not Hua Yong’s arms right now, coupled with Shen Wenlang’s annoying worries and how he thought he could make life easier for Hua Yong’s son, were taking a tool on the Omega’s already weak nerves, making his eyes burn with frustrated, angry tears.
Shen Wenlang opened his big mouth again, but before he could talk, there was a knock on the door, short and precise.
Shen Wenlang, without looking away from the Omega’s teary face which was a few little inches away from his own, spoke. “Come in, Gao Tu.”
But it was not only the secretary Beta who entered Shen Wenlang’s office. With him, came a scent that Hua Yong had been dreaming about smelling again for the past three years. Or for his whole life, really.
Hua Yong looked away from Shen Wenlang’s face, his still-teary gaze moving without his control. It was always like that; Hua Yong’s body always knew how to find his Alpha.
Sheng Shaoyou entered the office with the grace of a powerful, confident Alpha, a person who knew that he was at the top in every room he entered. His dark, handsome eyes narrowed on Shen Wenlang first, noticing his approximately to the delicate, almost hidden Omega seated on the CEO’s chair. His attractive features were indifferent, cold and unimpressed as he walked in with his hands pocketed in his dress pants.
He still looked as captivating and handsome as all those years ago, when Hua Yong had first laid eyes upon him and knew that he had found his Alpha.
Sheng Shaoyou was the same as he was three years ago, when he led Hua Yong into his room and on his bed, when he opened Hua Yong’s legs and drank his moans and whimpers, when he marked his body with his citrus scent and held his wrists tightly, not allowing him to move an inch. Tall, broad-shouldered and strong, with big arms and masculine features, his hair falling over an eyebrow. His wrist watch glinted in the light, his suit pressed against his muscular body without the intention of showing off.
Hua Yong felt like he had forgotten how to breathe, how to function like a human being. He felt dizzy, his hand letting go of Shen Wenlang’s clothes, falling discreetly. His eyes could only see Sheng Shaoyou – his Alpha, his dear Mr. Sheng – and his nose was filled with the S-Class Alpha’s scent, which felt like heaven to him.
Hua Yong’s Alpha was here, staring at him with his cold, handsome eyes like he didn’t recognize the Omega in front of him. A cruel, mocking smile formed on his lips, making him look more breathtaking than he already was as he directed his words to Hua Yong’s poor heart.
“You.” Hua Yong’s Alpha said, his tone cold, standing right in front of the Omega, ignoring Shen Wenlang’s presence.
The Omega looked up at the Alpha with big, teary eyes, his cheeks rosy and his lips pink, innocent and delicate like a little white orchid.
