Notes:

Hello everyone! Welcome to Day 6 of Whumptober!

I haven't really written for this fandom yet, so please forgive any mischaracterization. I will be doing my best to keep them all in character, I promise

This one is also my shortest one yet, but I really didn't know where else to go with it, so apologies for that

Enjoy!

Work Text:

Punches were thrown left and right, Satoru Gojo dodged elegantly while Suguru Getou was across the battlefield, curses unleashed and wreaking havoc on the opposition.

Blue and red cursed energy moved around Satoru, dancing with his movements and adding extra power against his enemies - sorcerers with plans of reviving the King of Curses, Ryoumen Sukuna. For some reason, they thought that the Kind of Curses being revived would be the best option, one that would give them greater power.

As Satoru kicked an oncoming attacker, one jumped behind him, attempting an attack with a cursed tool, as Satoru turned his infinity back on - a protective barrier forming around him.

"Heh," Satoru giggled, sticking his tongue out at the attacker, frozen in place and confused about why his weapon was stopped in place, before moving out of the way and turning infinity back off, throwing a well placed uppercut to the jaw and knocking him unconscious.

Taking a moment to glance at the destruction around him, Satoru found nothing but unconscious henchmen, all strewn about on the ground and bleeding - all still alive of course, he was a sorcerer, not a monster.

Pulling out his phone, Satoru heard it ring as it called his best friend and love, Suguru Getou. Ring after ring passed and Satoru simple waited, waited for Suguru to pick up the phone when his fight was completed, which would not take long. They were the strongest after all.

"Hello?" Suguru's voice spoke from the other end, Satoru happy he finally picked up.

"Took you long enough," he joked, beginning to walk in Suguru's direction. "What happened? They too strong for you?" He teased, walking past an open doorway. "I thought you we- GAH," he gasped out, feeling a sharp pain enter the side of his body.

"Satoru!" Suguru yelled through the phone. "Are you okay? I'm on my way," he continued, breathing heavy and fast over the line. "Answer me, Satoru!"

Looking down to his side, Satoru saw a shiny bit of pointed metal exiting through him. It was a strange feeling to him; there was no pain where the object actually was, mainly directly around it. It had a burning sensation to it, Satoru would have guessed that getting stabbed felt more like getting cut, but apparently, he was wrong.

Slowly, he let his phone fall to his side as he turned around, facing a young girl who had been behind him. She was small, very young, and curled in on herself.

"You killed them," she whispered out, eyes welling with tears. "They-They were my family… and you killed them!" She shouted at him.

"They're not dead," Satoru mumbled out, pressing a hand to his side, fingers making their way around the hard metal in him. "Just unconscious, I wouldn't kill them," he explained, swaying a bit from side to side.

"Satoru!" Suguru yelled from the distance, riding on a string ray like curse, quickly approaching his boyfriend, worry rising as he saw blood falling to Satoru's feet. "Shit," he muttered, jumping off the curse and running over to Satoru.

"It's fine, I can walk it off," Satoru waved him off, feeling Suguru coming beside him and supporting him with a strong arm. "I've had worse, like the aftermath of the dinner you made last month," he joked, flashing a signature smile.

"Shut up, you dumbass," Suguru commanded, his attention shifting to the crying girl in front of him. "You, did you do this?"

"Don't yell at her," Satoru interrupted. "She thought I killed her family, makes sense she'd want revenge. Probably thought she was next," he added, words slightly slurred.

Suguru's gaze flashed from the girl to Satoru. Back and forth, one or the other. Letting out a hard sigh, Suguru let his hatred towards her go.

"C'mon Satoru," he urged, guiding his boyfriend to the curse he came in on. "You're making more sense than usual, we gotta fix that," he added before turning back to the girl. "Just wait with them, they should be up in a bit. Let them know that Jujutsu High will be keeping an eye on them from now on," Suguru commanded, watching as the girl gave a fast nod.

"I-I'm sorry," she stuttered out. "I-I was so scared-"

"Don't worry about it kid," Suguru waved her off as he finished laying Satoru on the curse, jumping on to it beside him. "Like he said, he's been through worse."

Taking off on the curse, Suguru kept a hand pressed down on Satoru's abdomen. He rolled him onto his side, keeping pressure on his back while Satoru kept a hand pressed down on his front.

"'Don't worry about it kid'?" Satoru repeated. "You're getting soft, aren't you Suguru?" He teased, holding back a grimace of pain that radiated through his body.

"More like I just wanted to get you out of there and to Shoko as soon as possible," Suguru denied, keeping his eyes trained on their destination off in the distance. "You know, she'd gonna rip us a new one when we get there."

"I'm looking forward to it," Satoru joked.

Landing at the school, Satoru was quickly taken by Suguru to the medical area of the school, a place where Shoko Ieiri usually hung out.

"Are you fucking kidding me?!" She yelled at them, stitching Satoru up on the table. "You have a technique called fuckin' 'Infinity' to keep you from getting hit. How did this happen?" She continued to rant, ignoring Satoru's face scrunched up in pain as she yelled at them. "I swear to god, I have no words for you fucking idiots!"

Despite claiming to have no words for either of them, Shoko continued to yell at them for another 20 minutes while stitching Satoru up and treating both of their more minor injuries - small cuts, bruises, and the like. Both boys had stayed silent; the last time they'd tried to defend themselves, they ended up more injured than when they came in.

"Sorry Shoko," they sheepishly muttered out as she finished cleaning them up and yelling at them.

"Sorry doesn't mean shit, you idiots," she muttered, wrapping a bandage around Satoru's torso, holding all of his stitches and gauze in place. "You have to be more careful, I don't want to have either of you not come back from a mission," she added solemnly.

"Don't worry about that," Satoru waved her off, hopping off the table. "We're the strongest after all; what's going to hurt us?"

"A little girl with a knife apparently," she answered, pulling out a cigarette and lighting it. She took a deep inhale of the smoke before blowing it out into the air above her while Satoru stayed quiet, Suguru laughing his ass off in the background.

"Oh fuck off," Satoru answered roughly, giving her a playful push as her left the room.

Shutting the door behind him, Suguru quickly caught up with Satoru down the hall, walking by his side in silence. The two entered Satoru's room when they got it, plopping down on the couch side by side in front of the TV in his room.

Suguru grabbed the remote and turned it on to a random channel before refocusing his attention on his boyfriend.

"Satoru," Suguru began, wrapping an arm around Satoru and pulling him close. "Please promise me you'll be more careful. You really scared me today, I honestly thought I might lose you," he admitted, running a hand through pure white locks.

Satoru took a moment, setting his head on Suguru's shoulder, and thinking it over. It wasn't unusual to get injured on a mission, but today had been different, today he'd actually been hurt quite decently - not just a cut or bruise, but stabbed. He imagined Suguru in the same position and felt his blood run cold; was that how he'd felt seeing Satoru injured?

"I promise," Satoru whispered. "I'm sorry I scared you," he continued, curling in closer as his stitches screamed in pain. It was worth it for Suguru.

"It's okay, you just worried me a bit," Suguru answered. "Now, let's enjoy the rest of our night, okay?"

Giving his boyfriend, someone he couldn't imagine a life without, a deep kiss, Satoru realized that nothing in the world could ever be worth more than what he had here, who he had here.
