Work Text:

"This was supposed to be my night off," Apollo growled, tearing off the sleeve of his tunic, "and yet…"

"Couldn't leave it for the boys," Thorn said, gasping as his twin pressed the fabric to his side. "Would've been much worse…"

"You tried to stop a bar fight in your greys, di'kut," Apollo replied. "Hold that."

"I didn't know he had a knife!" Thorn protested, pressing down where Apollo had directed him. The room was starting to grow fuzzy around the edges, and Thorn wondered vaguely when that other vod would be back with a medkit.

"Would that really have stopped you?" Apollo asked, pressing his fingers to Thorn's wrist.

"… No."

Apollo rolled his eyes. "He get you anywhere else?"

"Uh…" It was getting harder to focus, and the hole in his side was making it difficult to keep track of anything else. "Cold?"

"Osik."

He could feel Apollo's frantic hands running down his back and chest as the room started to fade out around him. "Sorry…"

When Thorn woke up again, it was to the murmur of voices and the sickly sweet smell of bacta.

"Next time, we're staying in and watching holos," Apollo said, drawing a penlight from his pocket and shining it in Thorn's eyes. Someone had given him a spare set of scrubs to wear, and Thorn felt an odd surge of emotion at seeing his twin in Corrie Red instead of his usual gold.

"And miss the opportunity to see the famed CMO of the Seventh Fleet in action?" Thorn chuckled, wincing as the moment pulled at the wound in his side.

"You'd have to have stayed awake for that," Apollo said, rolling his eyes. "Otherwise it's just your ori'vod putting you back together again."

"You're only a minute and a half older, that hardly qualifies you to be my ori'vod-"

"It does when you let yourself get stabbed breaking up a bar fight," Apollo said, crossing his arms over his chest, "on my day off."

"… I'll have Fox talk to Cody, see what I can do."

"Good," Apollo said, settling himself down on the bed beside Thorn, "because we have a lot of holos to catch up on."
