Work Text:

"have you ever seen the rain?"

 

(that was the first time.)

 

fyodor looked up from his book. nikolai was watching him, as he had for the past hour. fyodor chuckled, a bit confused.

 

"yes, kolya i have. i am not three" (but yknow who is)

 

nikolai did not laugh. "imeant the real rain. the one for dancing and laughing an spinning and forgetting."

 

fyodor put down his book. color him intruiged. "oh? i do not think i have, kolya."

 

nikolai smiled, knowng he ha fyodors full attention. "ill show you, if you want."

 

if you want. he knew full well that fyodor did want. they knew each other. every little thing about each other.

 

"very well. show me"

 

 

that is how fyodor foun himsef standing in the rain next to a spinning clown.

 

he ws soaked.

 

the rain was heavy, but somehow light. you could see a bare faint outline of the real world through it.

 

he didnt feel an urge to dance, but he foun himself smiling widr than he had all day.

 

"dos-kun!" nikolai had stopped, stumbling a bit, to grin at fyodor. "dont you love this? doesnt it make you feel.... wel, free?"

 

his eyes clsed. a bird could fy so highin this heavy weather.

 

make it two birds.

 

when he opened his eyes water dropped from his eyelashes down his cheeks. he was still smiling. it woud be a foreign thing if not forr the time hes spent around nikolai lately.

 

he wrapped his arms around the man, plating a kiss on his wet foreead. nikolai froze from the rarity of fyodors affection. but then he melted into the touch, their wet clothes not making for the most comfortable position but none moved.

 

"yes kolya, i do feel free."

 

 

(the next time nikolai asked, fyodor had oce again replied, "i have not.")

(It's the next day) uh sooo uhhhh yeah. I'm not gonna comment on whatever it is I wrote but
Yes I said my next work wouldn't be fyolai I even swore but this doesn't count ok it wasn't planned I actually have a planned one that is not fyolai.
