Work Text:
For anyone who’s ever wanted to be seen, even when they couldn’t speak. And for those who loved them anyway.
It's kinda his fault now that he thinks about it. He should have known something like that would be stored in the bunker' basement or in one of those hundred rooms. But as always, he wasn't paying attention, touched some witchy thing or something and got stuck like this.
It's almost as if the universe has a twisted sense of humor. Everyone knows he is allergic to these things and he gets turned into one? And what's even better, it looks like he is allergic to himself as well!
He lets out a loud sneeze, almost falling from the chair in the library.
"Bless you, Dean."
Dean glares at Sam. If he could speak, he would give him a piece of his mind. He is a cat for fucks sake!
Dean meows at him, hair raised in displeasure.
Sam closes the book he has been reading and looks at him. He meows at him once again, but Sam only smirks.
"You are quite cute. Maybe you should stay like this?"
Dean hisses at him and jumps off the chair. He is definitely gonna scratch some of Sam' clothes, that will show him that he isn't cute, but quite deadly indeed. He will piss at his stuff and maybe then will Sam try to find something that will help him. He doesn't want to stay like this, it's fucking embarrassing.
He feels his fur ticking him in his nose and he prepares himself for another sneezing fit. He hates this even more. The sneeze almost knocks him back, it's so big. Dean shakes his head and continues onto his journey. He never noticed how big the bunker really is. It takes so much time to get from one room to another. Maybe he could go to his cave and try to turn the TV on and then...
"How did you get here?"
Dean yells; but it only sounds like a loud meow; when big hands grab him under his belly and hoist him up. He gets put against a chest clothed in white shirt. The vertigo hits him and he grabs onto the shirt with his claws, holding on for dear life. His eyes shut and he meows again, voicing his displeasure in the only way he can.
"Don't be afraid, I won't hurt you."
Dean knows that voice very well. He likes it even, but he is more terrified of falling then letting Cas know that he hears him.
He startles, claws digging deeper, when Cas gently pets him. He smooths down his fur and continues to pet him. Dean relaxes slightly and unknown to him, starts purring. Only when Cas chuckles above him, he realizes what he is doing. He isn't some house cat to be petted, damn it! He needs to get changed back!
He opens his eyes and looks up at Cas. He is smiling at him, humor barely hidden in his eyes.
"You liked that, didn't you?"
Dean glares at him and digs his claws deeper, until he feels them almost penetrate skin. He doesn't want to hurt Cas, but he doesn't know any other way to tell him to put him down.
Cas grunts from the slight pain and hoists him up, away from his chest. Now, Dean is dangling above the ground, only Cas' hands preventing him from falling to his death. He knows that cats always fall on all of their legs, but knowing him, he would break his bones or something.
He can't really do anything and that scares him. He feels his ears lie down against his head and his tail curls inwards, towards his belly. His back legs curl towards him, almost hiding his vulnerable parts and his eyes get wider. He lets out a sad and terrified meow and hopes that Cas will let him down.
Cas' eyes get filled with sadness and he gently puts him down. Dean immediately gets away and hides under the table in the War room, looking at Cas with a bit of mistrust.
Cas walks towards him and kneels down.
"I'm sorry, little one. Didn't want to scare you."
Dean meows at him. He knows that Cas means no harm, but he isn't good with heights when he is human, even less so when he is a cat. He wishes he could tell him that he knows, because Cas looks like someone told him that he isn't allowed to be in the bunker. And Dean knows how that looks like as he was the one who told him that. He already apologized for it, but he still feels guilty.
But wait. Cas is an angel so maybe he will be able to hear his prayers even though he is a cat?
'I know you didn't mean it Cas. It's fine.'
Dean looks for a sign that Cas heard him, but he doesn't see any. Nevertheless, he tries again.
'Hey Cas, can you hear me?'
Still nothing.
Dean sighs, letting out a soft meow. Maybe he really doesn't hear him. He walks out from under the table and sits in front of him, tail waving from side to side.
Cas smiles at him and lightly scratches his head, making Dean purr. Well sue him, he likes it! He leans closer when Cas starts scratching his back and purrs even louder.
"I wonder how you got here. And where is Dean? He doesn't tolerate animals in the bunker," Cas says with mischief shining in his eyes.
That fucker! He did hear him when he was praying, he is just acting at he didn't!
'Castiel, you dick! Chance me back right now! I know you can hear me and you have more then enough mojo to turn me into human!'
Cas only smiles at him and continues to pet him. Dean hisses at him and leans away. He is angry at him and he is going to show him!
"Come on Catchester. Lets go find Sam and figure out what to do with you, before Dean comes back."
Dean meows at him, voicing his displeasure. And Cas only laughs, walking towards the library. Which prompts Dean to follow him, meowing the entire time.
-----
Later that night, Dean is laying in his room on his bed; still in the car form; when the door opens and Cas walks in. Dean lifts up his head, meows at him as greeting and goes back to lie down.
Cas has been acting like he doesn't know that he is Dean and that makes him sad and frustrated. But he can't say anything, because even when he tries, all be can say is meow.
"Hey, Catchester. Sorry for waking you up, but dinner is ready."
And that's another thing. Cas insist on calling him Catchester as if he wasn't humiliated enough by being turned into a cat.
Dean flicks him tail and lets out a soft meow. He hears Cas coming closer to him and he looks up quickly when the bed next to him dips down. Cas is sitting next to him, hand stretched towards him.
"Come now. You haven't eaten anything the whole day. You must be starving."
Yeah, he is starving, but not for food. He knows it's impossible in this form, but he wants to be held, kissed, loved. But he can't say that to Cas, it would ruin their relationship and he doesn't want that. He would much rather be left starving then lose the only thing that makes his life bearable.
Lost in his thoughts, he doesn't realize that Cas is much closer then he was before and that he is leaning towards him. Dean lets out a panicked meow when Cas' lips touch the fur on his head. On moment he is a cat and then the next one, he is back to being human.
He realizes few things at once. First is that Cas is kissing his forehead and that he likes it. And the second one is that Dean is naked as the day he was born. He blushed furiously and tries to cover himself. But Cas doesn't let him. He pulls him closer and kisses his hair as well.
"Cas? Let me go, I'm naked."
Cas only hums.
"I'm very much aware. And I plan to have you naked for a very long time."
Dean sputters, his face deep red.
"Cas! You can't say things like that!"
Cas looks deep into his eyes, his own glowing faintly.
"Your longing is so strong Dean even an angel can't resist it. And I don't plan to."
