Chapter Text
A burning sensation filled his body as another explosion was set off. His arms were covered in burns from blocking the explosions. He fucked up. He was screwed, he shouldn’t have hid anything from Dream. Dream was his friend, his only friend. Another loud bang went off, his tent completely destroyed. Friend? What a joke.
“See Tommy, this is what happens when you lie.” Dream walked towards the nether portal.
“No! Wait, please don’t leave me” He cried desperately.
Dream paused, tilting his head toward him. “You lied to me Tommy. I thought we were friends.” He turned back around. “I’ll be back when you’ve learned your lesson.”
Tommy tried to run toward the portal, but tripped and fell 5 blocks away. Dream placed another TNT, lighting it and stepping through the portal. He yelled, trying to back away before the explosion went off.
“Fuck.” His ears were ringing and his legs burned.
He lay there, curled in a ball, his hands over his ears for what felt like hours. I need to leave was the only thought that crossed his mind when he finally moved from his position. He walked towards the big crater where Dream had found his stash.
Sighing, he carefully stepped into the hole and collected all the dirt he could. Then he began to tower, using a stack of dirt and half a stack of other random materials that he had in his inventory. He sat down on the edge of the tower, admiring the view for one last time. He thought back to his family, back when they used to live together in a small cabin in the woods before Wilbur and him left.
Tubbo, who had exiled him here. He grit his teeth, he was angry with Tubbo, his best friend, who never once came to visit him. Ranboo, who stopped writing him letters, but at least he tried to talk to him before giving up. Briefly, he thought of Techno, who was living in the tundra not too far from logstedshire. Maybe he will let me stay with him, he huffed a laugh.
“What a joke.” Techno visited him only to make fun of him, going to him would only prove him right about Lmanburg.
For the final time, he looked up, glancing at the sun setting over the ocean. How beautiful, he thought as he pushed himself off the tower, closing his eyes and smiling. He hit the ground.
-
He woke up with a start, sitting up and gasping for air. He gripped the blanket tight in his hands. Wait. Blanket? He glanced down, he was sitting in a bed, a very familiar one. Looking around the room in shock, he saw the familiar furniture and walls that were in his childhood bedroom.
He’s awake
Child is awake!
POG
Yelling in surprise he fell out of the bed with a loud thump. “Who the fuck is that?!”
What?!
He can hear us
How can he hear us
Finally
He looked around in shock, eyes blown wide in surprise. Since when did he have voices?
Get over it
You can hear us!
We have always been here
You couldn’t hear us before
He started to get a headache already, now he knew how Techno felt. Tommy sat down on his bed, completely shocked about this new-found knowledge. Footsteps coming down the hallway broke him out of his shock. He looked over at the door just as a familiar face opened it.
“Tommy! Are you alright? I heard yelling.” Wilbur was standing in the doorway, out of breath and a worried expression on his face. Tears filled his eyes and he ran over to hug his brother.
“Wilbur...” He whispered.
“Toms, what’s wrong? Are you okay?” Wilbur wrapped his arms around him as tears started flowing out of his eyes.
Tommy let go of his brother, who is alive, and wiped the tears from his eyes.
“Is Dad home?” He asked, unsure of what point in time it was.
“No, they were meant to be back tonight. It’s been a month.” Wilbur grit his teeth, anger briefly flashing in his eyes.
So this was when Wilbur and him had left, in a week Wilbur would pack their bags and they would never look back again.
“That isn’t important right now. What happened?” Wilbur looked worried again, a small frown on his face.
“I think I have voi-” Tommy clutched his head in pain, collapsing to the ground from the huge headache he now had.
No!
Don’t tell him
He won’t understand
Trust us
“Tommy!” Wilbur quickly picked him, gently leaning him against the bed frame.
He will understand, he urged to the voices, he is my brother.
“Voices, like Techno, I can hear ‘em” he huffed out, still clutching his head.
“What?” Wilbur’s face had gone pale, he stood up and started pacing the room.
“No, this isn’t real, this can’t be happening.” He began muttering to himself. Tommy looked up at him waiting for him to calm down and comfort him like he always did.
Instead, he stopped pacing, glanced at Tommy and then walked out of the room. Tommy was shocked, why did he leave? I thought he would care?
See
He doesn’t get it
He will leave us
Stop him
Tommy’s eyes widened, and he scrambled to chase after Wilbur. His brother who had stuck with him through everything. The same brother who had taken a bag and began packing his stuff, leaving him.
He wouldn’t leave me right? Not after everything. His breathing picked up as he desperately tried to talk to Wilbur.
“Wil, what are you doing?! Why? Are you going to leave me?”
His brother just turned to look at him, a conflicted expression on his face. Wilbur just picked up the bag, slung it over his shoulder, walked past him and began to walk to the front door.
“Stop! Wil, please!” He grabbed his brother’s sleeve, pulling him back with all his strength. He knew he wouldn’t be able to stop him, he was 9 after all, a lanky kid with no arm strength.
Wilbur ripped his sleeve out of Tommy’s grip and continued walking out.
“No! You can’t leave me! Please, I can’t do this without you.” He began sobbing, begging his brother to turn around, tell him it was a prank and then comfort him and figure out how to get rid of the voices.
“Tommy shut up!” Wilbur angrily turned around, walking up to him and slapping him.
“This is your fault, if you weren’t like him then maybe I would’ve taken you with me. But you have those goddamn voices just like him!” He yelled at him. “Now I have to leave, before he takes you as well.”
Tears fell out of his eyes, as Wilbur stormed out the door, slamming it behind him. He fell to the ground in shock, holding his cheek.
“He left me.”
You have us
We told you
Everyone will leave
Never tell anyone
Tommy just sobbed in response, laying there on the ground until he passed out.
