Shadow milk was walking near the market of the pure vanilla kingdom,the kingdom that his other half had ruled that one point. The people here still call him their king but pure vanilla told that he doesn't see himself as their king. Shadow milk will never understand really but he didn't care too much, he was trying to find the perfect gift for his boyfriend as lately pure vanilla has been off.
He had been more quiet, he been looking that himself in the mirror talking about cutting this long blond hair off, when shadow milk tried to ask why pure vanilla would answer with "it too much for me to take care bluebird." If shadow milk wasn't the beast of deceit he would have believed pure vanilla cookies, but he heard the way his voice when for his normal calm voice to a shaky voice. Shadow milk though maybe a gift would help him, he knows he could make the gift himself but pure vanilla had been telling him to go outside of the castle, so to not stress his boyfriend out anymore he come here to the market. Some of the cookies here were still scared him make sense to him, he had pulled "harsh pranks" or whatever Pure Vanilla said.
So some were too scared to look or talk to him, when looking around the many stalls he heard a conversation with two cookie.
"You know I find it weird that we are calling pure vanilla king" one cookie said.
"Why? He found this kingdom and had ruled it with kindness and care." The other cookie replied confused.
"Well my mom told about how many years ago pure vanilla was girl that her grandmother's mom called pure vanilla their queen." The other cookie explain.
"No way! Pure Vanilla is girl? Why would she change her gender...I agree I think It a little weird now that we are calling her our king we should call her our queen." The other cookie said.
Shadow milk got angry hearing this talk how dare they mis gender their king so what if pure Vanilla was a girl he a boy now. But shadow milk was a little hurt that pure vanilla didn't share this part of him. He had told pure Vanilla that he was gender fluid so he didn't care about gender norms. But for pure Vanilla to been a girl now boy. Makes sense why he didn't like his awakening form. Shadow milk used to make a little fun of pure vanilla for his awakening to look like a girl. He meant it as a joke now he was scared that he may be one of the reasons that his boyfriend look that in the mirror.
This is fine he will buy a nice gift say sorry and hope that pure vanilla will get better and start talking and smiling again. Shadow milk rushed away from the cookies that were misgendering pure vanilla. Soon after a bit of walking shadow milk found the perfect gift, two cream sheep one may be the mom and the other may have been the kid from how small it was . It was perfect
"Hey how much for the cream sheep?" Shadow milk asked like he was even going to pay for anything.
"Oh that will be-" the seller looked up to meet with the eyes of the beast she was froze too scared to move.
"Well how much" shadow milk asked again.
"J-just take it! It free here you go! Have a good day bye!" The seller practically shoved the cream sheeps into shadow milk arm waiting for him to leave. He did, he didn't feel like pranking anymore right now not when his boyfriend was sad.
After shadow milk got the gift he teleport back to castle in the hallway he saw black raisin. Weird she was normally with her crows or helping the people out, it was rare when she was in the castle. He floated over to her.
"Hey bird brain what happened?" Shadow milk asked.
"..it pure vanilla cookies he hasn't answered any of letters that other ancients had been sending I got one right now from the faerie kingdom, asking if pure Vanilla was ok." Black raisin said look that shadow milk.
That didn't help his growing anxiety that had been builting up.
"Ya...I see why you are here, had you found out anything?" I asked her.
"When talking to him, he keeps saying that some of the people know who he is and that they call him something different he didn't mention what but maybe that something to do with it." Black raisin said trying to keep her voice calm.
"Oh I see." Shadow milk didn't know what to say, he now know what pure vanilla was talking but Black raisin didn't.
"He.. told me something happened a month ago...that he never told you because he didn't want to worry you..pure vanilla was drinking so he was too drunk to remember what he said but." Shadow milk stopped listening at that point.
Someone did something to his boyfriend and he was never told his boyfriend had to deal with someone doing something to him all by himself all because he care more about other people pain more than his own.
Shadow milk just left he could hear black raisin behind him but he didn't care he need to know that his nilly was ok ,that he was safe sleeping. When shadow milk finally got to the door he tried to open it it was locked. Shadow milk just teleport himself inside he needed to know that pure vanilla was ok that he was find.
Shadow milk found him pure vanilla was hanging... for how know how long. His nilly his other half was gone dead. Shadow milk cut the rope off soon getting the rope off his neck, shadow milk looked that pure vanilla he was crumbling. Shadow milk didn't notice when he started to cry or when the stupid milk flower started to grow but all he could look that was pure vanilla. He didn't even get to say goodbye...what a stupid cookie he is for thinking that he could get a happy ending that maybe he will have a chance to be happy.
