The sound of cracking glass echoed through the night as Elphaba cast a whispered spell. One long since memorized from all those years ago, arguing with her perky blonde roommate until her magic had snapped. She could see from her shadowed hiding spot the blonde jerk to a sudden stop, her head snapping to where a crack now bloomed in the glass. Elphaba couldn’t help but smirk.
A hat-shaped crack formed perfectly on the glass, the smooth surface nearby splintering from the force. She watched Glinda hike her skirt up and run toward the door, pushing it open and looking around. A gentle breeze blew in the cooling night air, the sound of the city below.
“Elphaba Thropp, I know you’re out here.” Glinda broke the silence, her eyes scanning the shadows of the porch. Elphaba pushed herself deeper into the darkness, not wanting to be seen just yet. “Just come in before the Monkeys spot you.” Glinda urged, the silence stretching out around them. Finally, when Glinda seemed like she was about to give up and go inside, Elphaba emerged from the shadows. She heard a quiet gasp from the blonde as she found brown eyes searching her own.
The two stood frozen for a few moments until Glinda moved, gesturing toward the door helplessly.
“Inside quickly, please,” Glinda begged, her voice barely above a whisper. Elphaba, still silent as a sentinel, stepped into the light shining from inside Glinda’s room and slipped through the door. Elphaba took a moment to take in the room, examining the pink walls, the absurd amount of mirrors, and the cherry blossom décor that reminded her much of the wedding she’d ruined that morning.
The wedding Glinda was meant to have. To Fiyero. Elphaba supposed she shouldn’t be surprised; Glinda had told her she intended to marry the prince. An uncomfortable pit of jealousy burned in Elphaba’s chest at the thought, and she pushed it down, her eyes finding Glinda finally. The blonde wrung her hands together nervously. Elphaba knew she probably looked just as ready to bolt, though.
“I see you finally got your private suite.” Elphaba finally spoke, her voice a little hoarse from underuse. She could see Glinda take a tentative step toward her, still tense and looking rather uncertain.
“Elphaba– why… what are you doing here?” Glinda asked. The witch took in the furrow in Glinda’s brow and shrugged. Her thoughts went back to the wedding. It’s been a successful takeover; a few got hurt, but nothing that couldn’t be fixed. Her eyes fell to Glinda’s wedding gown momentarily, the pang of jealousy returning before she could force it down. Glinda looked beautiful, of course, she did. She shook her head. Glinda had asked a question. Maybe a little humor could break this tension that had settled over them uncomfortably.
“Well, I was in the neighborhood and thought I’d stop by. It’s been too long, Glinda.” Elphaba answered, a smirk ghosting her lips. The blonde seemed to relax before a furrow settled on her brow.
“You– you ruined my wedding, Elphaba.” Glinda huffed, and she stamped her foot in indignation. It was almost adorable, almost. “Storming in with you and your Animals, and then Fiyero left! And now you have the nerve to show up here?”
“Oh, I’m sorry, Your Goodness, are you having a bit of a rough day? Is everything not as perfect as you?” Elphaba couldn’t help but retort, something about being around the blonde bringing out a different side of her entirely. One from all those years ago, one she thought she’d lost.
“Yes, as a matter of fact! Miss ‘I’m going to fly around on this ratty old thing all day.’ Oz, I still can’t believe you get around on that.” The blonde now seemed much less tense, though the anger she tried to exude was dulled by something Elphaba couldn’t quite figure out what.
“Well, we can’t all come and go by bubble now, can we?” Elphaba’s grip tightened on her broom, her own anger boiling up. This wasn’t why she’d come to see Glinda. Truthfully, she didn’t have a real reason. Concern about the blonde, perhaps. Elphaba knew today was supposed to be big, but it also allowed for a major win for the Animal Resistance.
“No, but we certainly don’t have to go around acting like a Wicked Witch.” Glinda snapped, her eyes widening after she spoke. Elphaba felt the words like a slap; anyone else calling her Wicked never affected her. But this was Glinda.
Glinda, who once stepped up and joined her in a broken dance. Glinda, who looked her in the eyes and called her beautiful. Glinda, who begged her to be chosen. And now, here she was, calling her out as the rest of the world sees her. It hurt. Elphaba clenched her jaw, brushing past the blonde to leave. Coming here was stupid, and dangerous. A gentle hand around her wrist froze her.
“Elphaba, wait- I didn’t… Please don’t leave.” Glinda breathed out, her voice quiet. Elphaba spun on her heel to face the woman.
“Why? You see me as nothing more than they do, so why should I?” Elphaba hissed, and Glinda stumbled back from the sudden confrontation. Elphaba could see the fear flash across her face – fear that came from years of conditioning, of spending time in rooms full of people, scorning one person. But Elphaba knew Glinda. She had seen the softness in her eyes when she realized Elphaba was there. She’d seen the silent hope that flickered across her features. The silent want her friend to be back. Elphaba exhaled a deep breath.
“Elphaba, I’m sorry.” Glinda’s voice broke with exhaustion as her posture melted. She could see the mask of Glinda the Good melt away. Elphaba stepped closer, lowering her chin to find her friend’s eyes.
“It’s alright,” Elphaba whispered, giving the girl a small, tentative smile. Glinda briefly returned it before the chime of the clock made both of them jump. Elphaba knew she had to get back; the Animals were expecting her, and she was already late for making this stop. “I have to go. Please. You never saw me, I was never here – do you understand?” Elphaba watched the light melt from Glinda’s eyes as a small frown and furrow of her brow graced her features.
“No, I can’t bear this anymore.” Glinda started to storm off, the hurt palpable, rolling off her in waves. “You can’t ruin my wedding and then show up acting like we’re friends. You have to make a choice, Elphaba,” she huffed as she passed Elphaba, this time the witch reaching out to grab Glinda’s hand and stop her.
Instead of her hand, she overshot and grabbed onto the silky fabric of Glinda’s dress. There was a terrible tearing noise as Elphaba's talon-like nails sliced right through the material, exposing a long line of smooth pale skin at Glinda’s waist. The whole room seemed to freeze at the sound, Glinda slowly turning back toward Elphaba – a silent fury written on her features.
“Glinda I-”
“You ripped my dress?! You wicked thing, how dare you!” Glinda’s shriek would’ve been loud enough to alert anyone in the palace halls if Elphaba hadn’t known she was completely alone; she’d be worried. Instead, she could only focus on how hearing Glinda call her wicked again sent a rush of heat elsewhere. She knew it’d been years without seeing anyone, and she’d learned a few things about herself. Some of them surrounded her blonde roommate. Who now stood trying desperately – and failing – to hide the very obvious hole in the dress.
Shamelessly, Elphaba let her eyes wander over the blonde, heat rising to her cheeks. Could she get her to call her wicked in other ways? The thought came unbidden, but it only made the desire in her chest grow as she stepped toward Glinda. The blonde had fallen silent, her eyes locked onto Elphaba when she started to move.
“E-Elphie?” Glinda’s voice quivered. Elphaba could see her throat bob as she swallowed. She suddenly wanted to know how it felt under her lips. It was alarming how quickly these urges hit her. Of course, she knew it wasn’t quick at all. Years of denying the truth, of pushing down the flutter in her stomach and ignoring the heat in her core that blossomed at the thought of Glinda. How she used to parade around their dorm half-naked while getting ready for the day. She wanted to see the beautiful blonde in full.
In a blink, Elphaba was moving toward Glinda, wrapping her free hand tentatively around the girl’s waist and pulling her in. The kiss was all heat, Elphaba having to lean down a bit to meet the slightly shorter woman. Glinda leaned into the kiss a lot more eagerly than Elphaba had expected her to. Her lips were soft, and she tasted slightly like peppermint, the gloss on Glinda’s lips spreading messily to Elphaba’s own.
Elphaba couldn’t resist letting her lips trail down the soft skin of Glinda’s neck even as her own lungs begged for air. She could hear Glinda gasp out a breathless ‘Elphie’ above her as she bit into her pulse – careful not to break skin but enough to leave a mark. Glinda’s hands were cupping her neck, sliding up and pushing the hat from her head as she scratched at her scalp with blunt nails. Elphaba let her own hands wander as she continued to mark the once pristine skin of Glinda’s shoulders. Long nails brushed over the exposed skin from where Elphaba had previously ripped Glinda’s dress. She could feel gooseflesh erupt where her fingertips dragged.
In a split-second decision, Elphaba pulled away and dug her nails sharply into the silk gown once again. It didn’t take much from her at all to rip the material away from Glinda’s body and reveal the nude strapless bra beneath. Elphaba took a moment to take Glinda in, then. Brown pupils blown wide as she stared at Elphaba with a hint of confusion passing over her expression. Glinda hadn’t even tried to cover herself, the silk material slipping easily from her body and leaving her practically naked.
Elphaba stepped forward again, pressing a much more tender and reverent kiss to Glinda’s lips. She could feel Glinda’s hands snaking around her body and working on the clasps that held her dress up. They were backing up toward one of the few scattered couches in the room, Elphaba’s cape slipping from her shoulders and joining her hat on the floor. Suddenly, the witch pulled back, a distant fear flaring in her mind as she took in her companion’s smooth and flawless skin.
“Glinda, I’m not-” 'perfect, beautiful, like you' The words all swirled in Elphaba's head as she started to protest, her eyes darting away from the blonde and toward the door. She could feel her nerves stirring her magic below the surface, a soft hand on her chin forcing her eyes to turn and meet Glinda’s.
“You are beautiful, Elphaba Thropp,” Glinda spoke, as if reading her mind, with such sureness in her voice that it flooded Elphaba’s own doubt away. Glinda’s lips were on hers again, this time as the blonde pulled Elphaba back toward the couch; she followed easily. Soon her own dress was being loosened and discarded from her body, leaving her in nothing but her black undergarments. Glinda’s eyes ran over her reverently before she reached forward and ran a finger over a faded scar.
“Oh, Elphie,” Glinda whispered, her eyebrows furrowing with worry. The girl’s fingers traced a path down Elphaba’s ribs toward a scar on her lower hip. “Are all of these from-”
“The Gale Force,” Elphaba confirmed, watching as Glinda’s eyes welled with tears. She quickly blinked them away, swallowing hard. “Glinda, it’s not your fault.” Elphaba stepped toward her, wrapping Glinda in her arms. The blonde hesitated before leaning into Elphaba, her fingers still trailing over Elphaba’s exposed skin. She could occasionally feel the girl run her fingers through the hair that ran up to her belly button, blushing every time she did.
“No, but I could have stopped them. I could have-”
“Galinda.” Elphaba cut her off sharply, gently cupping the girl’s chin. “I wouldn’t have forgiven myself if you ever got hurt because of my actions,” Elphaba admitted quietly, brushing her thumb carefully over Glinda’s cheek. A stray tear escaped from her eye, and Elphaba kissed the path it trailed down.
“Elphie…” Glinda whispered, her hand moving up to cradle Elphaba’s neck. “I – Can I kiss you?” The blonde’s voice was so unsure, Elphaba met her lips in a heartbeat. The kiss was brief but held just as much weight as the others.
“You don’t need to ask, my sweet,” Elphaba admitted, letting the woman step away. For a brief second, Elphaba thought that the moment of passion from before had passed. Glinda’s fingers curled around her own, and the blonde gave a mischievous wink over her shoulder as she pulled the witch toward the stairs.
At the top was where Elphaba was greeted with the sight of the largest and pinkest bed she’d ever seen. Elphaba’s eyes widened in shock for a moment, and she let herself take in the upstairs of the room Glinda had modified. When her eyes turned back toward the bed, she found Glinda sprawled out over the blankets, a faint pink blush tinting her cheeks and ears.
“I’ve really missed you, Elphie.” Glinda’s voice was almost innocent, a hint of teasing underneath as she dragged a hand down her body. “You know I’ve thought of you… a lot.” Glinda admitted, the girl's face burning darker as she slipped a hand between her legs. A quiet moan escaped the blonde’s lips that spurned Elphaba into action. She reached the bed in seconds, straddling the blonde and pulling her into a bruising kiss, swallowing another moan that fell from her lips.
Elphaba kissed Glinda until she was forced to pull back for air, unable to get enough of her. She was diving back in, once again kissing the sensitive skin on her neck and shoulders as the woman continued to tease her own core with her hand. Elphaba couldn’t allow that. In one swift flick of her hand, Glinda’s arms were suddenly pinned above her head by an unseen force, leaving the blonde squirming beneath her.
“Hey, not fair,” Glinda whined, gasping as Elphaba’s hand was suddenly on her. The fabric of her panties was soaked through, though Elphaba just teased her through the material. She watched the blonde squirm, a smirk forming on her lips as she leaned in and nipped at the skin on her neck again. “Elphie…” Glinda chided.
“Hmm, beg for it. Tell me what you want, Galinda. Tell all of Oz what you want the Wicked Witch to do to you.” Elphaba’s lips were almost against Glinda’s ear as she continued to tease her through the fabric of her underwear. Glinda’s hips bucked up into her hand, desperate for friction. “All it takes is a few words, my sweet.” Elphaba’s lips were back on Glinda’s skin, kissing bruises onto her chest.
“P-please, Elphaba,” Glinda finally whined out, her hands straining against the magical restraints. “Fuck me already, take me as yours.” Those words made something in Elphaba snap, her fingers eagerly working at the clasp on Glinda’s bra. With her nails, it was hard to unhook, and she ultimately decided to rip that from the woman’s body, as well as her already ruined panties. Glinda let out a gasp at the exposure, followed by a throaty moan as Elphaba’s mouth was on her again.
Elphaba took a pert pink nipple into her mouth, her hand teasing the other. She could feel Glinda shift beneath her, trying to get friction on her needy core. Elphaba smirked as she momentarily sat up, looking down at Glinda and taking the woman in fully. This was what she’d wanted. Glinda Upland, desperate and writhing for her attention beneath her, on the night of her should-have-been wedding, no less.
“El- Elphie please, I wanna see you too,” Glinda whined, gasping as Elphaba’s muscular thigh slipped between hers. “You’re so – a-ah – so pretty.” She barely brushed against where Glinda needed attention the most, but she could already feel how desperate she was. She wouldn’t last long. Without a second thought, Elphaba easily removed her own bra and underthings; she felt less bashful than she expected to as Glinda’s eyes roamed over her appreciatively.
Finally, Elphaba pushed her leg forward, applying pressure to Glinda’s soaked pussy, the blonde bucking her hips at the sudden friction and a wanton moan escaping her lips. Elphaba couldn't help but lean forward and capture the woman’s lips in a kiss, swallowing down the moans that tried to escape. She pulled back, watching as Glinda’s muscles flexed and worked to relieve the pressure building in her core. Elphaba let herself sink down lower so her own core pressed against the muscles in Glinda’s leg. She heard the blonde gasp before she felt the leg shift up underneath her further.
“In- inside Elphaba, please, I- I need you,” Glinda begged, continuing her own thrusting rhythm. Elphaba’s cheeks burned as her eyes flicked down to her hands, currently holding herself up over the woman.
“Galinda I- I can’t, I’ll hurt you… My nails,” Elphaba gasped as Glinda’s hips bucked again and sent the blonde’s thigh thrusting into her pussy. “Oh, sweet Oz,” She muttered, leaning down so her lips were once again on Glinda’s neck.
“Fuck, Elphie, please, I don’t care, I just– I need more.” Glinda’s whines turned breathless as she neared her climax, and Elphaba felt a fear shoot through herself. It must have been bad as Glinda’s hands were suddenly wrapping around her, the magic restraining her having broke. “I trust you, Elphie. I know you’d never hurt me.” Elphaba looked up and met Glinda’s gaze. She nodded, letting a hand trail down the blonde’s stomach and stopping teasingly close to her core.
“Are you sure, my sweet?” Elphaba hesitated, though she felt Glinda buck up again into her hand.
“Y-yes, Elphie,” Glinda confirmed, moaning loudly as Elphaba easily slipped two fingers carefully into her soaked pussy. The blonde’s walls clenched around green fingers, almost pulling her in deeper as Elphaba began to slowly work her hand. She allowed her thumb to brush against Glinda’s clit, pushing her closer to her climax. Elphaba ground down harder on Glinda’s thigh as it flexed with each of Elphaba’s thrusts. Both women’s speech melted into various whines and moans as they approached their respective climaxes together.
Glinda peaked first as Elphaba tentatively added a third finger, careful of her nails still, even in her lust-addled state. The blonde’s walls clenched tightly around Elphaba’s fingers, pulling her in deeper and holding her there as Elphaba still worked her own pussy against Glinda’s thigh. She came quickly after, slowly pulling her fingers from where they had been buried in the blonde and laying her head to rest on Glinda’s chest as they both came down from their highs.
The first to come back to consciousness was Glinda, her arms snaking around Elphaba’s body, her fingers running through dark braids. Elphaba listened to Glinda’s heartbeat slow down, pressing a kiss to her chest as she sat up and met the blonde’s gaze. It’d been so easy to get wrapped up in the feeling of it all things hit her at an alarming speed, and she felt tears well in her eyes as she looked down at Glinda.
“Elphie, what’s wrong?” Glinda’s voice was soft as her hand cupped Elphaba’s cheek, brushing away the tears that had started to fall. Elphaba leaned into the girl's hand, eventually shifting to lie next to her. Glinda’s arms were still firmly around her waist, and the blonde was pressing kisses into her face and cheeks.
“I’m sorry, Galinda, I just– I can’t believe… everything. It’s been so long, and I just. I’ve really missed you.” Elphaba admitted, moving closer to Glinda. The blonde didn’t waste a second, shifting from drawing intricate patterns on her skin to once again combing pale fingers through dark braids.
‘I’ve missed you too, Elphaba… not a day has gone by that I haven’t thought of you. Haven’t worried you were cold or hungry. Haven’t wished…” Glinda’s voice trailed off. Elphaba, from where her face was pressed into Glinda’s neck, could practically feel her swallow the rest of the words. Elphaba pulled back tentatively and met Glinda’s gaze.
“Haven’t wished… what, my sweet?” Elphaba asked, her brows furrowing as Glinda’s gaze fell away from her own. Instead of pushing, Elphaba let the silence sit between them. She knew sometimes the blonde needed a moment, so she just waited.
“That all those years ago I told you the truth.” Glinda finally breathed out, and Elphaba’s brows only furrowed more as the blonde met her gaze once again. “That I love you, Elphaba Thropp.” Elphaba inhaled sharply, more tears welling in her eyes at the words. There was a part of her deep down that longed to hear them, especially hear them from the blonde who she now held in her arms.
She couldn’t help herself as she pressed forward and captured Glinda’s lips in another kiss, the blonde melting into it and the tension that had riddled her moments ago diffusing swiftly.
“I love you too, Glinda,” Elphaba admitted into the small space between them, her breath ghosting over Glinda’s lips. The blonde smiled, a genuine smile that allowed her dimple to show, and it made Elphaba’s heart absolutely melt. She couldn’t help pressing kisses all over Glinda’s face before pulling her closer into her arms.
They had a lot still that needed to be figured out, and plenty that worried the both of them about days to come. But for at least this night, Elphaba had Glinda in her arms, and the two of them could pretend they were in a different world, living much different lives.
