Chapter Text
24 HOURS EARLIER - BEFORE THE FIGHT
"Danny, it's been almost 3 years. You still haven't told your parents?"
"Yeah, man. It's been a while."
"You guys don't understand. If I told them that I'm bi, they'd probably go insane or something. I don't really know."
Meet Daniel Fenton, often known as Danny. He's about to be a senior at Casper High and seems like your average high school student. He actually has a secret identity, but no one knows it. He has ghost powers and uses them to fight off ghosts in his alter-ego form, Danny Phantom.
"Yeah, well, I think you should at least tell Jasmine." Sam replied. Samantha "Sam" Manson is Danny's best friend, along with Tucker Foley. She is a goth girl who is a vegetarian and avoids drama as much as she can. Everyone assumes she's dating Danny, but that couldn't be further from the truth. They just make out a lot, nothing serious.
"She knows already, Sam. Remember?"
Sam nodded. "Oh yeah. What do you think, Tucker?" She turned to the boy with glasses.
"I don't know." Tucker Foley is somewhat the smartest of the group. However, he usually responds similarly to Sam.
"Oh, come on. Are you guys still upset over that?" Sam looked from Danny to Tucker and then back to Danny.
Danny crossed his arms and rolled his eyes. "I wouldn't put it past him to know the rules of… what you and I had."
"It's not like you were getting to home base with her anyways, Danny. I had a better chance than you." Tucker scoffed.
Sam just shook her head. "Tucker, had I known that you only had sex with me JUST to get to Danny, I would've never done it. You pretty much used me to hurt him."
"And I'd do it again if it meant that he'd crumble under his only 'girlfriend' not wanting him at all."
Danny wanted to break Tucker's jaw. There's no way he just said that, he thought to himself. Nothing could truly break up their friendship, they'd all been friends for years. Then again, there are times where they'll put space in between them, whether it be because of one too many ghost missions, or in this case, something with Sam.
"Hey, knock it off. Both of you. I'm sick of you two fighting. You've been going back and forth for weeks, and senior year starts in three months. You two need to get it worked out soon, or I'm gonna pull out of this and it'll just be the two of you."
Danny started to walk off. "We'll see."
Once Danny was out of distance, Sam turned to Tucker. "I hope this is going to be worth it. If I get caught in the crossfire of you and him being enemies, and some shit goes down to the point where I lose him, I'll kill you."
Tucker began to sweat.
Danny walked to Nasty Burger, where he found himself most comfortable sometimes. It was a hot day and, just like any other day in Amity Park, it was half-full in Nasty Burger. Some of the people that Danny went to school with were here, including Kwan.
"Hey, Danny. Nice to see you here." Kwan smiled as he greeted Danny. Kwan wasn't like all the other football guys. He was a lot smarter and nicer. He was the only person Danny really liked on the team, anyway.
"Hey Kwan. I'm surprised you aren't with Jazz right now."
"Yeah, she's busy getting new clothes for our date tomorrow. Got to look her best for me." Kwan laughed.
"Oh yeah, how could I forget?" Danny laughed as he sat across from the football player. "She only talked about it… hmm, I don't know. 100 times."
Kwan has been dating Jasmine, Danny's older sister, since sophomore year. It was good to know that after being scanned by their dad, and questioned by their mother, Danny and Jazz could relax and not have to worry about them embarrassing one of their friends like that again. Danny looked at Kwan and smiled.
"Y'know, I knew you would be perfect for my sister. You guys have great chemistry with each other."
"Yeah, it's pretty good. When she's not helping me study for tests or when I'm not helping her pick out outfits that match whatever book she's ready at the time, we just hang out and vibe with each other."
"If only that could be me." Danny sighed and put his head down. He was 17, in his senior year, and doesn't have a girlfriend anymore. Or a relationship.
"Danny, I've been meaning to ask you about that. Are you even into girls?" Kwan knew it was a touchy subject based on what Jazz told him.
"I don't know, I might be. Who knows? Maybe I'll be with a girl. Sam and I are still close, but now, we only make out with each other. Did I tell you she-"
"She slept with Tucker?" Kwan interrupted.
"How did you know that?" Danny asked.
"You guys weren't around each other a lot after the semester ended. Plus, Tucker couldn't stop talking about her."
"So that guy was bragging about it, too?! Oh he's SO lucky I haven't tried to smash his face in yet!" Danny was angry.
"Also… I hate to tell you to do this, Danny, but turn around."
Danny looked confused, but he turned around and saw someone marching in his direction.
"Shit." Danny groaned. "Of all the people in this world, Kwan. Of ALL the people. You're still friends with him? You know he hates me, RIGHT?"
"Missed me, FENTON?"
"Sorry man." Kwan said, hoping the two wouldn't fight.
