Chapter 1: Get revenge for me Kamimura

Chapter Text

“Your new roommate will arrive today. You should really tidy this place up, it's a disaster.”

“I know…do you know when they will be here?”

“Nope, I'll call you if I get any updates.”

“R-right..”
Hasegawa thanked his RA and closed his door. He immediately started picking up his scattered books and loose papers. He has been alone in his dorm since the semester started, so he was confused on why they gave him a roommate now.

He didn't even have much room for another person. He just had to hope the new roommate was a light carrier.

And thankfully for him, they were.

Well, light enough anyway, he only had two bags and a hairpin clutched in his hand that seemed to have fallen out of his hair.

He didn't even notice him entering the room until he spoke up.

“Hey, is this my room?”

“Huh?”

The teen was most definitely his age, only he looked malnourished a tad bit. His blue hair reached mid back, and was a bit messed up from the wind outside. His oversized hoodie has a skull on the front pocket. His left hand held something small and light that Hasegawa couldn't make out.

His eyes shined red and he didn't seem to have much life behind them.

Even though he had no malice in his voice, Hasegawa could pick up on some sort of hostility from his words.

“O-oh yeah, it is!”

“Ah well, nice to meet you.”
He gave a small bow, his hair strings falling off his shoulders.

In a way, it reminded Hasegawa of a jellyfish.

The boys demeanor spoke out to him. His soft yet threatening voice slipped out his mouth like it was rehearsed. He was a lot shorter than Hasegawa, only being about shoulder height.

He didn't smile, yell, or talk unless nessasary to.

But there was something else that was brought to Hasegawas attention.

Something that bugged him a bit.

‘HE'S SO FUCKING PRETTY OH MY GOD?’

is what he wanted to say, but he decided to settle on,

“Y'know, you don't look like the average man”

Yeah

He settled on that.

This is not my fault

“Escuse me?”

“W-wait not in that way! Just your more…”

“femimene?”

“A-ah well, not really…”

He looked up at Hasegawa, eyes piercing his soul.

“You're… more pleasent to look at?”

“Ah I see. Well, if there is no more to talk about,”

He tried to reapply his hair clip, but seemed to struggle getting his hair in a bun.

“Eh? Well then, I'll put it in later.”

He put his hairclip on the side table next to the couch, allowing Hasegawa to get a good look of it.

It was a butterfly clip. The wings were a muted red around the edges, and a saturated orange in the middle of it. It was a monarch butterflies by the wing design. The clip seemed big enough that it's supposed to hold up ponytails and buns.

It seemed easy to apply, even for Hasegawa, who couldn't even braid hair.

“I could help you with that”

The other teen turned around, not expecting that response.

He pulled out a coin from his pocket and flipped it.

*Thud*

It hit the back of his hand, as he covered it with his other one. He revealed it to himself, not showing any emotions, then turned back to Hasegawa.

“That will be quite helpful if you could.”

“Sure! Here, let me grab it”
He made sure to be gentle with the clip, not wanting to risk breaking it. With how he clutched it while in the doorway, it was most definitely important.

The teen kneeled on the ground in front of the couch while Hasegawa sat behind him on it.

“Do you need this in a bun or..”

“Anything works.”

“R-right!”
He went to grab his hair, then realized something.

His hair was soft as hell.

Like softer than it should be.

It slipped in between his fingers and on his lap.

‘Come on Hasegawa you don't even know his NAME! Stop thinking about his flawless eyes and soft ha- SHUTTHEHELLUP’

Hasegawa started gathering his hair, taking the time to get to know the boy.

“So um.. what's your name?”

“Kamimura”

Ah, I'm Hasegawa”

“I see”

“So Kamimura, what do you do for a living?”

He paused and pulled out the coin again.

*Thud*

He caught it with ease and looked at the coin.

“I work as a crime scene cleaner. Half the time I'll be covered in blood, so be warned of I walked in looking injured. I assure you I'd tell you if I needed medical attention!”

“Wow! T-that has to be tiring at points right? I couldn't really relate to all that…I work on quiz shows often, but when I'm not I'm unemployed.”

“Ah yes some times, though you get used to it after awhile.”

Before he knew it, he was already done.

“Alright, you're all good now.”

Kamimura stood up and turned to face Hasegawa.

Well thank you Hasegawa, I think I should turn in for the night. Have a good night!”

“Y-you to Kamimura, sweet dreams!”

Kamimura nodded and headed for his part of the dorm.

Hasegawa decided he should also turn in for the night, and went to lay down.

It was nice meeting Kamimura this evening! He hoped he could get to know him more tomorrow!

But he just couldn't fall asleep. Something was bugging him. And this time it wasn't his stunning looks and gentle voice.

Well, it partly was, but that wasn't the point.

The point was the coin.

And time he went to ask a open ended question, Kamimura flipped that rusted coin.

It wasn't that he was annoyed, just confused.

What was the point of the coin? Was it just an anxiety thing? Hasegawa could understand that. Maybe it was just an habit he grew up with? Something brought down by his parents?

He could just ask these questions in the morning.

He turned over and drifted off.

For about 2 hours.

He woke up to the front door swinging open and someone rushing out, along side what he could only assume to be a crow, as he heard the “caws” from he's bed.

He opened his door to see feathers all over the floor, and the door fully opened.

He knocked on Kamimura's door.

“Kamimura?”

It was unlocked.

Hasegawa pushed open the door to see the window wide open and feathers on the window sill.

Kamimura's bags were opened all over the place.

Hasegawa caught eyes on what he could only assume was to be a childhood photo.

It showed a young boy with black hair with his parents. The kid looked as happy as could be. It didn't take much thinking to figure out the kid was Kamimura.

What concerned him though was the x’s on his parents faces. Along side the message “I swear I'll get revenge for you, even if it means dying. That mother fucker will pay.”

He put the photo back and left the room.

He turned back to the wide open door, and ran out.

………………………………………………….

He didn't know where to go, so he went for the forest near the campus.

He walked through the trees and branches on the forest floor, trying not to make too much noise.

He's been walking for almost 20 minutes now. There was still no sign of Kamimura anywhere.

That was until he heard a sound not to far away.

“HELP ME, OH GOD SOMEONE HE-”

it was cut off by choking noises and a loud thud against the branches.

It didn't sound like Kamimura, but still Hasegawa ran over to check.

What he saw would haunt him.

Bodies, lots of them.

They were hanging from the sturdy tree branches.

It looked like they were hung by vine-like plants.

They were all dead, all 50 bodies were dead. So many children, elderly, parents, they were all dead.

Hasegawa almost puked. The smell of their blood and the sounds of gagging by the ones getting killed still were too much.

He wanted to turn around.

He caught eyes on the thing that did it.

That thing

Wasn't human

It wasn't an animal either

If Hasegawa had to make the call, it was a demon who crawled from hell.

“Ha! You're all weak.”

He had another victim in his grasp.
She was squirming in its vines.

One around the neck, around the shoulders, elbows, ankles, torso, knees, everywhere really.

She was trying to speak but couldn't. There was a sword on the ground broken in half near her. Hasegawa wondered if it was hers. Why did she have a sword?

“Ok, ok I'm done joking around,”

Hasegawa sighed a sigh of relief, thinking how the girl was going to get home.

“Bye bye now!”

*Crack*

“GAH-....”

She was dead. The vines snapped her neck a whole 360 degrees.

The vines then begin hanging up the body with the others.

Hasegawa didn't scream, he couldn't. He wasn't putting his life on the line for dead people.

But it seemed someone would.

“Ara Ara, seems like someone had a good night!”

Kamimura.

He jumped off a branch from the tree behind the demon, floating down like he was paper.

He landed on his tippy toes right behind the demon, maybe a foot away.

He wasn't wearing what he was earlier. Instead of his oversized hoodie, he has on a haroi. Orange at the top that faded to a deep purple at the bottom. His haroi showed his shoulders, which must suck since it was freezing out. His hair was pit up in a bun again, so he must've never tooken it out. There was a sword sheath on his person.

He seems to work with the other girl, especially since they were wearing the same uniform, other that the haroi.

“I- who are you?!”

“Me? Now, this isn't the time for introductions!”

His small smile didn't waver while staring at the demon, or the bodies.

“What's your name?”

“You just sai-”

“Answer the fucking question”

He was still smiling, it was almost like,

It was fake.

That smile was fake.

The smile he saw upon his face when they met, was that fake too? Hasegawa couldn't tell.

“Y- you don't need to know my name! You're just going to die like everyone else!”

The vines sped towards Kamimura, faster than ever before.

Hasegawa couldn't watch it, he didn't want to see him die.

But he didn't die.

Kamimura jumped up back on the branch, spinning around to meet the demon's gaze.

“Well, it's going to be like that then? Very well.”

He reached for his sheath and pulled out a sword. The sword wrapped around his body in a fluid motion. It glowed a dark purple. There were tiny blades on the edges of it.

That wasn't a normal sword.

He jumped off the branch and swung his sword. It flew around in the air, slicing the demons skin all over.

The slashes were huge and everywhere. And yet…the demon was completely fine.

Kamimura floated down behind the demon. Even though the demon seemed fine, Kamimura didn't seemed fazed.

“Ha! You missed my neck! Your life is mine!”

“Ah ah ah!”

The demon grabbed at its neck and fell. It was purple all over and it's vains were poking out. Hasegawa heard it choking on its own blood.

“Now, it seems like a good time to introduce myself!”

He kneeled beside it.

“ Demon Slayer Core, Kazutoshi Kamimura. My older sister taught me a lot when it came to poison. Pretty cool don't you think?”

The demon was moving anymore and its head rolled away.

“Oh, you can't answer me if your dead. Silly me!”

He turned around and jumped back up on the branches.

Hasegawa just stood there, not moving.

There was only one thing going on through his head.

‘oh my god he just got hotter holy shit’
