Chapter Text

“Sebastian: is this really the last show of the Kuroshitsuji world tour?” a weary-sounding Earl Ciel Phantomhive half mumbled as he looked at his tired face in his dressing room mirror before sipping his never-to-be-missed pre-show cup of earl grey tea.

“Indeed it is…” Sebastian smiled as he scrolled social media on his phone, a luxury many in the crowd would be denied due to the tour’s strict no phones policy.

“…In fact it’s the 219th concert to be precise.”

“How typical of you to have been keeping count.” Earl Ciel commented as he placed his tea cup on the dresser. “But it’s so nice to be ending it back home in London.”

“At your own Funtom Music Hall no less. One might imagine you had it built purely for this purpose in mind.” Sebastian smiled, earning a tsk from the earl.

“It’s a nice bonus for our Black Tier fan club members.” Earl Phantomhive stated. “Plus we can go the extra mile with lights, pyrotechnics and projections.”

“Speaking of going the extra mile will you be watching the support bands from your box?” Sebastian asked. “Personally I feel you should considering it’s as much of a big night for them as it is for our band.”

“As it’s the final show I think I’d ought to.” The earl declared and quickly drank the last of his tea. “When are the F.O.L. 4 on?”

“They’re due to go on in five minutes.” Sebastian said as he put on his leather jacket.

“Let’s go Sebastian.” Earl Ciel announced as he grabbed his own jacket and headed for the door Sebastian had opened for him.

“Do you suppose the rest of the band will be joining us?”

“I think they’ll be watching from the wings of the stage.” Sebastian replied with the knowledge he was right. “Those who play instruments tend to stick together.”

“Whereas I just sing. You can save that. I’ve heard it all before from people worse than you. But it’s all very well playing a tune. We write the lyrics.”

“For every song the band has ever recorded.” Sebastian confirmed as the pair made their way through the venue’s backstage corridors and flights of stairs to the doors of the Phantomhive Box which was located directly opposite the stage in the middle tier of corporate boxes and was the only one that couldn’t be seen into by anyone not on the stage.

Sebastian once again opened the door for Earl Ciel, who was greeted by the rest of his personal protection staff: Finny, Mey-Rin, Baldroy and Snake. The four of them had been given permission to watch the final concert of the tour as a thank you for all their hard work.

This however didn’t stop them from leaping to their feet in anticipation of orders.

“Sit down everyone please.” Earl Ciel fake smiled and pretended to be flustered as he took his own seat, front and centre with Sebastian taking the seat behind.

Baldroy and Mey-Rin flanked Sebastian, Finny and Snake flanked Earl Ciel.

“It looks like everyone has made their way inside just in time.” Sebastian commented as the lights went down and the crowd cheered as six figures walked out to their instruments at the very front of the stage.

“Let the show begin.” Earl Ciel smiled as he sat back in his chair, finally able to enjoy some music before he took the stage later.
