We might be making them worse...

Summary:

Two Time isn't doing well due to being isolated from everyone, as the other survivors think they're weird and odd at best, or think they're dangerous at most.

007n7 feels bad as he's pretty isolated, too.

OR
UwUbean5 is back on his bullshit. And is projecting their cult background onto Two Time.

Notes:

Chapter 1 summary - A round ends, Two Time died first before they could actually do their ritual that allows them to have their second life, and Shedletsky gets mad, and Two Time tries to argue back and fails as Shedletsky has a "loud = I'm right" complex.
Angst ensues.

TW's - mentioned deaths (temporary as they respawn in the lobby/living area), self-punishment (includes self-harm and restricting food), and positive manipulation (007n7 kinda manipulates Two Time into actually eating something, so it's positive manipulation.) And cult themes (praying to 'spawn' for forgiveness.)

As always, chapter 1 will be mid. 007n7 is peak dad to the point of calling cold weather 'Baltic'

spent my entire time writing this fighting my spell checker + accidentally turning this into a draft twice cause im a twat.

Chapter 1: hypocritical (bitch you're just hysterical.)

Chapter Text

Dying first was something that happened to everyone during rounds, especially ones that started abruptly, but this time, it felt worse.

When anyone else died first, everyone would see if they were okay after the round ended, yet this time...
No one said anything, cause it was Two Time who was the one to die first; they didn't even get to do their ritual before getting killed. They tried to find a safe place to do it, and it got them killed immediately.

It'd been around an hour since the round had ended, and everyone was chilling, except for Shedletsky, who got up and walked into the kitchen, where Two Time had retreated to so they could avoid the others.

"Hey, you," Shedletsky started bluntly, "What the fuck was that back in that round?" He asked harshly, cornering Two Time, taking advantage of the massive height difference.

Two Time faltered a little, no one really talked to them unless it was Elliot during the rounds and even then the interactions were kept short. "Uh- I died..." They spoke quietly, swallowing a little. "I'm sorry..."

Shedletsky rolled his eyes, "Sure you are, let me guess, your precious 'Spawn' told you to die?" Shedletsky asked condescendingly, "The voices tell you to trip?" He continued, ignoring the sound of Veeronica rolling in on her skateboard, too busy being an utter bitch.

"Hey, come on, man, that's not fair," Veeronica stated bluntly, rolling over to the toaster and placing her hand on it to recharge. "We've all died first, we're stuck here together, so let's maybe calm down-" Before she could continue, Shedletsky interrupted her.

"Stay out of this." Shedletsky glared at Vee before looking back at Two Time, "Honestly, what were you thinking?"

"I was going to do my ritual in a safer area!" Two Time answered defensively, "You've died first more than I have! You're being a hypocrite!" They continued, they didn't know why they were being defensive, but it was something about the way Shedletsky would condescendingly bring up Spawn and the voices, that just made Two Time angry, who did Shedletsky think he was exactly?

"At least I try! And I don't waste time by performing a ritual that doesn't even do anything!" Shedletsky yelled back, "You've been nothing but an annoying, hysterical brat since you arrived. 'Spawn' this, 'Spawn' that. It's not real, and it's getting in the way of you actually being helpful!"

Two Time couldn't take it, they shoved past Shedletsky and took off outside, ignoring 007n7, who was on the porch as they ran past.

Veeronica takes her hand off the toaster and rolls over to Shedletsky, "What is wrong with you? You did nothing that entire round, but they're useless cause they died first?" She asked bluntly, crossing her arms, looking back a little as 007n7 walked into the kitchen before she continued to talk to Shedletsky.

"Hi, sorry to interrupt, but uh...Two Time just ran off into the woods..." 007n7 started, "Shouldn't one of us go after them?" 007n7 added, crossing his arms as Shedletsky and Veeronica continued to argue with each other, as everyone else didn't seem to even notice that the cultist had left, "Guess I'm going after them?" He asked, waiting a few seconds before relenting with no pressure, "I'm going after them." He nodded simply. Uncrossing his arms, going upstairs to his room to get a coat, putting it on before he grabbed one of his hoodies to lend to Two Time.

007n7 left the cabin and took off in the general direction that Two Time had run off in, muttering under his breath over how Baltic it was out here. It took him a full twenty minutes to find Two Time. He found them in a clearing, kneeling in the middle of some flowers, "Hey uh, Two Time, you okay?" He called out, approaching slowly, pausing as he saw the small glint of metal in the moonlight. Maybe it was the deep-seated dad instincts, or the experience of also being unstable, but he was immediately alarmed,

007n7 crouched next to Two Time, "Hey, bud, let's put the knife away, yeah?" He urged gently, wincing at what he saw.

"I deserve punishment. I didn't earn a second chance, and I didn't help during the round." Two Time stated blankly, staring down at their cut-covered arms, "Spawn demands blood...So I shall provide."

"Well, I'm sure Spawn has uh...Had enough blood, so...Let's just put the knife away." 007n7n answered, gently and carefully taking Two Time's knife off them, putting it into his pocket, "Here, put this on, it's fucking baltic out here." He added, handing Two Time the hoodie he had brought with him, "You can keep it if you want to." He continued as Two Time put on the hoodie before standing, the cultist putting the hood up before crossing their arms in a subtle means of self soothing.

007n7 gently wrapped an arm around Two Time's shoulder and began to walk them back to the cabin, "I can make some tea when we get back." 007n7 suggested as the two of them walked.

Once they got back 007n7 took Two Time to the kitchen and sat them down at the table, before busying himself with putting water in the kettle and turning it on to boil, "I'm off to get the first aid kit, stay right there."

Two Time just nodded softly and watched as 007n7 left the room, the cultist taking the hood off.

"Hey."

Two Time flinched and nearly fell out of their chair, "Oh dear Spawn!" They yelled, looking over to see Veeronica in the doorway, the cultist taking a second to calm down, a bit surprised that she was talking to them, "...Hi."

"You okay?" Vee asked, staying in the doorway, looking at Two Time.

Two Time nodded a little, "Yeah, I'm okay..."

Veeronica nodded, "Alright, just thought I'd ask before I go to recharge properly, night." She added, giving the cultist a small smile before she used her skateboard to roll out of the room, the sound of what might've been her ricocheting off the walls to go upstairs could be heard, the fact that the sounds of everyone else yelling at her to stop followed made it clear that was exactly what she did.

007n7 walked back into the kitchen, "Do you think she knows she can just...walk up the stairs?" He asked with a small half-hearted smile, sitting down at the table with the first aid kit, taking out the antispeptic wipes and some bandages, "Sleeves up please."

"Do we have to? I'll be fine, Spawn will protect me." Two Time answered, looking up graciously as if their god was up there.

"Well, maybe Spawn sent me with a first aid kit to protect you." 007n7 answered, leaning forward a little, he didn't want to demean or be condescending to Two Time, that was obviously a trigger, so maybe he could spin their devotion to Spawn into a bit more of a positive thing, "Ever think about it like that?"

Two Time blinked, silently thinking over what 007n7 said, before hesitantly pulling the sleeves up, showing their arms to 007n7, "What now?" They asked, wincing as 007n7 answered by taking a wipe and beginning to gently clean their wounds, "Ow." Two Time stated bluntly, closing their eyes and biting their tongue to keep themself from crying.

"I'm sorry, I know it hurts." 007n7 murmured soothingly, finishing up with cleaning the wounds after a couple more minutes, now carefully applying the bandages to Two Time's arms, gently tying off the bandages before securing them with some stickers from the first aid kit. "There we go. Now, what kind of tea do you like?" He asked, standing up and going over to the kettle that had finished boiling the water, the man grabbing two mugs.

"Uh...Do we have any peppermint?" Two Time asked, putting the hood of the hoodie back up as Dusekkar walked in, turning their head away from him.

Dusekkar paused observing Two Time's behaviour before walking over to 007n7 and whispering to him, "Are they alright?"

"I thought you hated them." 007n7 whispered back, putting a peppermint teabag into the mug he chose for Two Time, before pouring hot water into the mug.

"You are mistaken, my hatred lies for their cult and their beliefs, not Two Time themself." Dusekkar answers quietly.

"They're fine now." 007n7 answered simply, watching as Dusekkar nodded and looked back at Two Time, "Trust me, I'm a dad, I know things." He gloated jokingly.

"Very well, I felt bad for not checking on them after the round." Dusekkar replied before leaving, giving Two Time a small glance as he did so.

Two Time looked back up, "I heard all of that." Two Time mumbled as 007n7 walked over with their tea, the cultist taking the mug and sipping it, "Thank you." They added.

007n7 gave Two Time a small smile, "Sorry, we've kind of gotten used to you not being in the normal parts of the cabin." He shrugged apologetically. He knew it sounded lackluster, but he meant it. The man grabbed his mug before looking in the cupboards. "Have you eaten today?"

"I am not to eat until Spawn gives me a sign that I can." Two Time answered shortly and bluntly, before sipping their tea, "Until then, I shall sustain myself with tea."

007n7 thought for a moment, he didn't want to keep having to pull the 'maybe Spawn is making me help you' card, but it was obvious that that was what he would have to do, he hadn't seen Two Time eat in days, "Well, maybe me asking is the sign that you can eat, think about it." He started, deciding to start with small food items, "I've helped you twice now, it could be a sign." He continued, grabbing a packet of crackers and putting the pack down on the table in front of Two Time, "What is a more obvious sign than someone asking if you've eaten?"

Two Time put their mug down and squinted at 007n7 skeptically as they thought over the man's words, "Hm. I suppose that is correct..." They mumbled, hesitantly taking the packet of crackers and taking some of the crackers before giving the packet to 007n7, the cultist eating the crackers dry and in small, respectful bites, thanking Spawn in their head for allowing them to eat even after all their mistakes from today, so Two Time found themself savouring every bite. "Thank you." They nodded at 007n7 before getting up from the table, rinsing their mug out in the sink, and putting it on the drying rack. "I'm off to bed now, but...Thank you for being nice to me. Your kindness will take you far." Two Time stated with a small smile, before leaving the kitchen and going upstairs.

The cultist curled in on themself as they passed Builderman and Shedletsky in the hallway, the two of them silencing their conversation as the cultist passed them. Two Time stayed quiet, they couldn't help but feel as though the duo had been talking about them, so they rushed down the hall and into their room, closing and locking the door.

Two Time stalked over to their small makeshift altar they had made to honour Spawn. They kneeled on the ground in front of it, putting their hands together with their head tilted down to the ground, "My dear Spawn, I let you down, and for that I have come to repent for my mistakes. I took this gift for granted during a round and didn't prioritize the ritual, and I died for it. I shall appease you again; this won't happen again." They spoke quietly and clearly, "Please forgive me, I am eternally grateful for my gifts." They finished before standing up and walking over to their bed, lying down on it, and curling up on their side, hugging one of their pillows close to their chest as they tried to sleep.

Chapter 2: 'So fucking awkward'

Summary:

It's morning, and Two Time doesn't quite understand that they're not welcome at the table.

They're also mildly sick from being outside in the cold.

Dusekkar calls out the fact that the cult was bad.

Notes:

CW's - mild ableism (making fun of/laughing at someone's neurodivergent traits), self-punishment (self-isolation) + implied child abuse (go hand-in-hand with each other). There's also harmful stimming, such as hitting and hair pulling.

Like the tags suggest, I was in a cult; a lot of Two Time's mannerisms are based on my own. Recovery is a bitch, especially when you don't know that you need to recover, so I would often punish myself for things I got punished for in the cult, such as my autism. I was punished for meltdowns and for having 'rude' answers, I was punished for being silent and for talking too much. Yes, this includes locking myself in my room.

Two Time's undiagnosed autism is autism-ing.

Chapter Text

It was 7 AM, and normally Two Time would've already been awake, but unfortunately, being exposed to extreme coldness during the evening made them have a bit of a lie-in, so by the time they got out of bed, everyone else was awake and downstairs getting breakfast.

Two Time silently walked into the kitchen and decided just to have some tea. The cultist was listening in on the conversation happening at the table as they boiled the kettle, giving Veeronica a small, timid wave once they noticed her waving at them more energetically. She was clearly very recharged. Two Time finished making their tea and walked over to the table and stood there a bit quietly; it was mainly the people talking who didn't notice them, such as Noob, Elliot, and Shedletsky.

Two Time stood there for a full five minutes before Shedletsky turned around and screamed due to not expecting Two Time to be standing there.

"Oh God!" Shedletsky yelled before standing up and pushing Two Time out of the way, "We need to put a bell on you." He grumbled, tossing his plate in the sink before sitting back down, turning to look at Two Time, who continued to stand there, "Oh, I'm sorry, did you need something?" He asked in a mockingly nice tone.

"Can I sit too?" Two Time asked, taking a small sip of their tea, looking down at Shedletsky.

Shed choked out a small laugh, looking at the others before looking at Two Time, "And why would I say yes to this?" He asked, rolling his eyes a little bit.

Two Time shrugged a little, deciding to just stand there drinking their tea as the others went back to talking. The cultist didn't move from their spot next to the table.

"...God, they're so fucking awkward..." Shedletsky whispered to Noob, giving a vague gesture to Two Time, "Seriously like...Fucking go away?" He added as Noob giggled and nodded in mild agreement.

"Who're we talking about?" Two Time asked, blinking in mild confusion.

Shedletsky exhaled roughly, slamming his hand on the table as he turned around, "Are you stupid or something? Can you not take the hint?" He asked bluntly, standing up, smirking as Two Time stepped back a little bit, "Seriously, no one at this table wants you here."

"Shedletsky, that's really out of line to say." Guest 1337 piped up, standing up and pulling Shedletsky away from the cultist, though he made no effort to counter Shedletsky's words; if anything, he backed them up, "Maybe you should join 007n7 on the porch, eh?"

"Oh, but...I kinda wanted to be with you guys..." Two Time countered a bit quietly, drinking a bit more of their tea as they looked at everyone there, hoping for Veeronica to maybe chime up, but...She didn't; instead, she averted her eyes and went back to talking with Taph and Dusekkar. "Fine," The cultist relented, finishing their tea and putting the cup into the sink, "I'll go join 007n7." They mumbled, turning around and leaving the kitchen, nervously rubbing their arm in hopes of self-soothing.

As Two Time walked away, Shedletsky snickered a little, "Oh my God- What is wrong with them?" He asked bluntly, sitting back down as he Noob laughed, the duo stopping after noticing that no one else was laughing.

"You're both dicks." Veeronica finally grumbled, getting up and leaving the table too, going outside to join Two Time and 007n7.

007n7 was a bit surprised as he suddenly had company outside on the porch, but it was welcomed company. He watched from the bench on the porch as Two Time sat on the steps, "You okay?" He asked, leaning forward, glancing to the door as Veeronica walked outside too.

"...The others were being a bit...mean," Veeronica mumbled to 007n7, glancing at Two Time, exhaling as she walked over to the steps and sat down next to them, "Uh, I'm sorry for not saying anything..."

"It's fine." Two Time answered simply, not even looking at Veeronica, just looking down at the ground ahead of them.

"Oh, so as the others were being mean, you did nothing, from the sounds of it?" 007n7 inquired, looking at Veeronica, he found himself taking on the dad tone. "Can I ask why you didn't say anything?"

Veeronica faltered a little, her screen visually showing static for a second before she gulped, "I was scared they'd be mean to me too..." She admitted a bit quietly, looking down too, "I am sorry though..."

"I said it's fine." Two Time deadpanned, getting a bit annoyed that this was dragging a bit now, "You two are dragging it."

007n7 blinked at the genuine show of frustration, "Sorry." He nodded, deciding not to drag the conversation on any further, "So how'd you sleep?"

"Fine." Two Time shrugged, fidgeting with their pyjamas.

"Is that all you're going to answer with, just 'fine', nothing else?" Veeronica asked, genuinely confused at Two Time's behavior.

Two Time looked at Vee and then at 007n7, "Am I supposed to be saying anything else?" They asked.

"No, no. You don't have to say anything else, it's just that some people may view your short answers as rude," 007n7 explained, "I understand, though, you're not meaning to be rude."

"How is saying 'fine' rude though? I'm answering the questions, that's not rude." Two Time answered, the cultist trying to remember if they had been taught anything back at the cult that could help them here, but all they could remember was getting punished for having too long of answers, punished for being chatty and talking more than everyone else, yet now they're being punished for the opposite, "I can't win." Two Time surrendered, standing up and going back inside and to the kitchen, seeing as mostly everyone appeared to have left the room.

Two Time entered the kitchen and bumped right into Dusekkar, leading to him dropping his glass of water, the cultist jolting at the sound of it shattering.

"Ugh, seriously?" Dusekkar groaned, picking up the shattered pieces and grabbing a nearby cloth to clean up the water. "We are putting a bell on you." He grumbled as he finished cleaning up, "Well? Are you not going to apologise?"

"...Sorry..." Two Time mumbled, walking around Dusekkar and grabbing a new glass and filling it with water before offering it to him, "Here?"

Dusekkar exhaled and took the glass, "Gee, thanks." He deadpanned, "You done sulking?" He asked, drinking the water.

"How do you drink and eat..?" Two Time asked suddenly and bluntly before blinking harshly, "Sorry for asking, that was rude, I was taught better than to ask such things..."

"Oh, you were taught? Let me guess, by the cult?" Dusekkar inquired before sighing, "How did they teach you exactly?"

Two Time perked up at the opportunity to talk about the cult, "Oh! They'd just give out punishments when needed, we'd have group prayers, and we'd make offerings, and worship Spawn and-"

"Okay, yeah, Two Time, 'Spawn' isn't real, okay? You're brainwashed." Dusekkar interrupted, physically unable to listen to any more of what Two Time had to say, "You are utterly brainwashed." He continued, not even trying to make himself sound gentle, "Your respawn abilities were given to you by the spectre, it's not real- None of this is real. It's just lies the cult made up to keep you obedient."

Two Time didn't answer, the cultist retreated out of the room and went upstairs, biting back tears as they slammed their door open before slamming it shut, before they began to pace their room a little. Unable to regulate themselves, Two Time began to pull their hair as they paced like an animal, "Just calm down, it's real- It's all real." They mumbled to themselves, when that didn't calm them down, Two Time pulled their hair harder before hitting themselves on the head over and over again. They continued the harmful means of calming down, even as they stumbled over onto the floor, landing on their knees in front of their altar for Spawn.

They didn't deserve friends; they didn't deserve this team. All they had done was freak everyone out, snap at the two people showing them kindness, and break things. It was like being in the cult all over again, only this time, Two Time didn't have cult leaders to implement punishments for bad behaviour.
They'd have to do that part themselves. Two Time got up and grabbed their room key, locking their door on the inside before sliding the key under the door, effectively locking themselves in their room, making it so that they would only be let out if someone else were to stumble upon their key outside of their room.

Two Time went back over to their altar to pray to Spawn. They felt a little shaky, most likely from being stupid enough to have run outside the night prior, but it wasn't anything a little prayer couldn't fix. This was nothing compared to the real deal, punishment-wise; they could handle it. They could handle being locked in their room for hours, sometimes days on end. Only able to pray to Spawn and sleep, and maybe have some food slipped under the door occasionally by fellow cultists.
After praying, Two Time stood up and put the hoodie 007n7 had given them on, before flopping back down onto their bed. They couldn't describe it, but they felt a bit off; their throat hurt a bit, but they were sure it wasn't anything a bit of rest and isolation couldn't fix; it was probably from all the talking.

Notes:

I spent the majority of my time writing this fighting with grammarly and autocorrect. I have never spammed 'dismiss' more times in my entire life holy shit (help is grammarly bad? cause this feels bad.)

Anyway, y'all think the cultists were vaccinated? Even if they were, I think Two Time's immune system would be a little weak. :) I was vaccinated and got sick after going outside in the winter. I got bronchitis when I was like 8 or 9.

Chapter 3: I'm a sick dog, and a scared kid (plz be kind to me you'd be the first who ever did)

Summary:

Dusekkar finds Two Time's room key outside of the cultist's room, uses it to unlock the door, and is very unsurprised by the state he finds Two Time in.

Two Time doesn't want to admit that they're sick.

Takes place hours after last chapter btw

Dusekkar also realises that Two Time isn't neurotypical (i know. shocking news.)

Or - Two Time is coming down with something and has a meltdown, Dusekkar tries to help and manages to succeed.
007n7 is there for the ending to be like "aawwweeee"

Notes:

CW's - Mentioned past child abuse (hitting, hair pulling, forced-isolation, medical neglect, and starvation), and general sick-fic stuff (coughing, being shaky, delirious, etc.) + Harmful stimming (hitting and hair pulling/scalp gripping/scratching.)

Dusekkar doesn't hate Two Time as a person in this, ik that in canon he scorns them and the cult, but in this he's like "fuck the cult. so tell me about the cult so i can learn more about YOU and so i can hate the cult more."

Two Time is very delirious in this btw, like they're convinced they're back with the cult, and that they're in danger. Cause trauma will do that to you.

Anyone else get Calpol as a kid? I remember those little syringe thingys to a tee lolz (it's an oral syringe, not like, a needle syringe. It's used to make it easier to give kids medicine.)
I actually hate grammarly so much I cannot be assed with it anymore and i've had it for like 3 days, the mispellings are caused by my dyslexia, brain damage and hate for grammarly's glitchy bitchass.

Chapter Text

Dusekkar went upstairs a few hours after breakfast. He had spent the morning cleaning the kitchen and talking with Shedletsky and Builderman. He floated down the hall to go to his room when he caught a small glint on the floor outside of Two Time's door, he sighed and floated over to it and picked it up. Dusekkar tried to open Two Time's door and groaned upon finding that it was locked.

"It doesn't count as breaking in if I have the key." He grumbled to himself, using the key to unlock the door. He had assumed that Two Time had left their room and had dropped their key after locking their room. Instead, when he entered the room, he was greeted with the sight of Two Time lying on their bed, curled up on their side, "I'm sorry...Did...Did someone lock you in your room?" He asked in quite a worried tone, setting the key down before floating over to the cultist. "Was it Shedletsky?" He added, jumping to conclusions immediately.

Two Time shook their head, sitting up groggily, "I locked myself in...Slid the key under the door." They answered, dragging one of their hands down their face.

Dusekkar was stumped, "...You locked yourself in your room..?" He asked warily, before noticing Two Time's fatigued state, "Are you feeling alright?"

"Yeah..." Two Time nodded immediately, "I'm good." They added, going so far as to give a thumbs up, acting as though they weren't trembling.

Dusekkar hummed and nodded, "Okay, in that case, come with me." He instructs, floating away and pausing in the hallway, watching as Two Time gets out of bed and shuffles after him, the cultist putting the hood of their hoodie up, "You sure you're alright?" He asked again, leading Two Time into the bathroom, where he grabbed the thermometer and turned to the cultist.

Two Time eyed the thermometer in confusion and stepped back almost instinctively, "Yeah...I'm alright."

"You'll be fine with me checking then, yeah?" Dusekkar questioned, giving a small nod to the thermometer.

"...What is that?" Two Time asked warily, taking a small step forward like an on-edge feral animal.

Dusekkar blinked a couple times, it never crossed his mind that Two Time wouldn't know what a thermometer is, "It's a thermometer...It's used to check temperatures..." He explained, "It won't hurt you, I just don't believe you when you say that you're alright, you seem a bit...Sickly..."

Two Time relented, groaning and pushing the hood off their head and stepping forward so Dusekkar could use the thermometer, unfortunately it was a thermometer that went into the ear, and it made the most ear-piercing beep noise once it read the temperature, Two Time immediately yanking away from the thermometer and Dusekkar, the cultist covering their ears.

"Sorry, sorry. I forgot it made noise." Dusekarr apologised immediately, checking the temperature reading and freezing up a little, "Bed, now." He ordered firmly, "You're sick."

"No, I'm not, Spawn prevents us from getting sick!" Two Time argued back, putting the hood of the hoodie back up as if to hide away, "Besides, since when did you ever care about me?"

"I care about all my teammates, and that includes you. I just have no patience for that cult." Dusekkar argues in a more calm tone, floating forward and lifting Two Time up to physically take them to bed, "Now, come on, you're sick. You're temperture is way too goddamn high for you to not be sick." He continued, floating into Two Time's room and setting them back down on their bed. Dusekkar watched as Two Time curled up on their side with their arms shielding their head, "...You good?"

"Being sick means I have done something to make Spawn unhappy...Which means I'm going to be punished." Two Time rambled out, trembling a little bit, their voice cracking from fear.

Dusekkar felt a small flicker of concern with anger, this was delerious behaviour from Two Time, but it was also fear, "Uh...You're not going to get punished for getting sick, it just means you weren't wearing outside clothes..." Dusekkar argues gently, "You're not with the cult anymore."

Two Time swallows and looks up at Dusekkar, "...You're not going to hit me?" They asked, trembling a little as they sit up properly, taking off the hoodie.

"No, I'm not going to hit you." Dusekkar answered politely, "What I am going to do though, is go get you some water." He added, swiftly floating out of the room, leaving the door open.

Two Time sat there groggily, blinking slowly as if trying to still process what Dusekkar said, the cultist letting out a few noises of discomfort as they raked their hands through their hair.
They knew they weren't with the cult physically, but they felt like they were still there mentally. They hadn't gotten sick often, but they remembered the one other time they had gotten sick. They were 8, and had gotten a bit of a cold. It was a blur, but they remember being locked in their room without any food for a couple days, and then when they were let out, it was to be punished cause they were still ill, they distinctly remember their hair getting pulled as they were put back into their room. They were locked in there until they weren't sick anymore. A full week, locked in their room, no food, no medicine, just water, no interactions with anyone else unless it was one of the leaders.

"I'm back." Dusekkar greeted, floating into the room again, pausing as he noticed the dazed look in Two Time's eyes as they sat on their bed, "Hey, you okay?" Dusekkar asked, setting the glass of water down on Two Time's bedside table, he hesitantly reached out to touch their shoulder, he yanked his hand back as Two Time flinched as soon as Dusekkar's hand touched their shoulder.

Two Time scrambled back away from Dusekkar, the cultist falling off the side of their bed, "Ow-" They grumbled, curling up as they held their head in their hands.

Dusekkar floated round to the other side, "I didn't mean to scare you." He said carefully, helping Two Time up off the ground and getting them back into bed, "I'm sorry," He added, "Here, drink your water." He urged calmly, handing Two Time the glass of water, watching as the cultist took a few small sips. "Have you had medicine before?" He asked, watching as Two Time put the glass back on their bedside table.

Two Time coughed a little and shook their head, "No...I wasn't given medicine when I was sick as a kid." They answered, sitting up a bit more as they coughed harder, the cultist trembling as they had a coughing fit, a really bad one.

Dusekkar watched as Two Time had their coughing fit, "Breathe." He instructed, moving so he was sitting on the bed, granted he was still slightly levitating, but it was the thought that counted, "Hey, look at me, breathe."

Two Time nodded and looked up at Dusekkar, their eyes filled with tears, the cultist took a small breath in, only to start coughing again. Two Time trembled as they tried again, taking in a small, tearful inhale, before exhaling, repeating the process until they had calmed down, but even then, it didn't really work, so Two Time found themselves resorting to all they knew, hitting. The cultist pulled their knees up to their chest as they hit their head as they sniffled and choked back coughs.

Dusekkar moved back a little as he watched the cultist hit themself. He didn't want to let them hurt themself, but he also didn't want to make them more distressed by suddenly grabbing them, so he opted to try and intervene verbally, "Hey, uh...Maybe instead of hitting yourself, you could try hitting the blanket or just y'know hand flapping instead?" He suggested.

Two Time didn't answer, the cultist instead getting up off their bed to pace around like they had done hours prior, still incredibly trembly and tearful as they continued to hit their head. This self-injuring ritual continued until Two Time stumbled and fell onto their floor, where they proceeded to just curl up and sob, gripping their hair tightly in a futile effort to regulate themselves just a little bit, their nails digging into their scalp.

"I will be right back," Dusekkar states a bit worriedly, getting off the bed and floating to his own room, which he shared with Taph. He grabbed one of his spare blankets before going back to Two Time, "I'm just putting this over you, it's weighted." He warned calmly, slowly draping the blanket over Two Time, the cultist still trembling and sobbing for another 10 minutes, but Dusekkar was patient; he had to be.

"Th-Thanks..." Two Time forced out, sitting up with the blanket around their shoulders, it felt a bit calming. The cultist inhaled tearfully as they stood up and lay back down on their bed, wrapping the blanket around themself as they moved so they were resting on their side.

"I'm getting you some Calpol." Dusekkar nodded softly, floating out of the room and going back to the bathroom. He looked through the medicine cabinet, pausing as Builderman walked in, "Hey, uh, I know Two Time is an adult, I think, but do you think it'd be best to give them the kids medicine or the adult medicine, they said they've never been gived medicine before so I'm a bit worried that the adult stuff might be too strong, y'know?"

Builderman blinked a couple times. The man had gone into the bathroom to use the goddamn bathroom but was now being asked medical advice, "Hm. Give them two dosages of the kids' medicine, that should work." He shrugged before gesturing for Dusekkar to leave, "Now leave."

"Yes, Sir." Dusekkar nodded, grabbing the box containing the bottle of Calpol, specifically the Six-Plus Calpol, before floating out of the bathroom, closing the door for Builderman. Dusekkar floated back into Two Time's room, "Hey, I got the medicine I mentioned." He stated, floating over to the bed, opening the box, luckily, this box came with the little medicine syringe, which would hopefully make it easier to give the medicine to Two Time, "So, this is Calpol, it'll help with your cough and fever." He explained, figuring it'd be best to tell the cultist what he was about to give them, "This is the kids' stuff, but I figured it'd be best for you to have it, seeing as you've never had medicine before, but cause it's for kids, I'm gonna give you two dosages, okay?"

Two Time nodded, staying laid down on their side, watching intently as Dusekkar prepared the first dosage, the cultist cringing at the sight of the medicine in the syringe, "...That looks disgusting." They mumbled bluntly.

"Mm, well, it's medicine." Dusekkar shrugged, "It's strawberry flavour though." He added, feeling a bit happy that he added that, seeing as the cultist perked up upon hearing the flavour.

Two Time nodded, exhaling a little, opening their mouth a little to allow Dusekkar to give them the medicine. Two Time cringed at the feeling of it in their mouth, but Dusekkar said it'd help with the fever and coughing, so they swallowed it. They liked the taste; it tasted fine, but god, that feeling was vomit-inducing. "I don't like it..." Two Time mumbled, sitting up properly to drink some more water to rinse their mouth out.

"Oh, I'm sorry..." Dusekkar apologised, feeling a little bad, he hadn't considered the possibility of Two Time not liking the texture of the medicine itself, "One more dosage, okay? Then you're done." He added, trying to urge them to take the second dose. Luckily, the cultist nodded, Dusekkar preparing the second and last dose.

Two Time just nodded, opening their mouth for Dusekkar to just get this hellish medical care over with, the cultist cringing as the medicine entered their mouth; they swallowed it immediately and swiftly grabbed their water and drank it, "Next time, I'm praying to Spawn to fix this." They grumbled, setting the glass down before they lay back down.

"Mhm, you get some sleep." Dusekkar nodded, giving Two Time the gentle order to sleep, before he floated out of the room, putting the medicine back into the bathroom, before he went downstairs and out onto the porch, where he found 007n7, "Hey, so...Two Time is sick, just wanted to let you know, I've taken care of them, but they seem to trust you." He explained, "They're fine right now." He added as 007n7 immediately stood up, not wanting to give the poor guy a heart attack.

"Okay, well, I'm off to check on them anyway." 007n7 answered bluntly, walking past Dusekkar and going upstairs. He was happy that Dusekkar had the decency to look after Two Time while they were sick. 007n7 carefully opened the door to Two Time's room and looked inside, softening at the sight of Two Time passed out, fast asleep in their bed, their arms wrapped around a spare pillow, as they had a weighted blanket wrapped around themselves. Once he had confirmed that the cultist was fine, he quietly left the room, gently closing the door, before he went back downstairs.

"Thank you." 007n7 nodded at Dusekkar, "Look, I'm pretty mad at all of you right now, that display at breakfast, and after the round last night was abhorrent, but thank you for having the decency to help them..."

"I feared that stepping in at breakfast would've made Shedletsky's little outburst worse..." Dusekkar answered honestly, "I also said some things after...But, after what I've seen, I can say...I don't hate Two Time...I never hated them, I was just frustrated. I have real magic, but they have fake abilities given to them by the Spectre, and it gets frustrating to hear them talk about their 'gift' when they don't have one. They're just brainwashed, and the Spectre is making them worse...And with all of us isolating them, I think we might be contributing to that..."

007n7 blinked before gasping sarcastically, putting a hand to his chest, "Oh my God, no way! Socially isolating the cultist and making fun of them was making them worse?! Oh my god, no way."

Dusekkar exhaled at the show of sarcasm, "I know...I know- Look, I'm sorry...I realised that we've been isolating you too..." He added, "So, I'm doing what the others won't, apologising. I am really sorry for making you feel like an outcast..."

"I am touched at the sudden show of care and concern, and you are forgiven, but I am a middle-aged dad whose kid is a killer. Save your apologies for Two Time, save the apologies for when they're not sick." 007n7 answered, going into the kitchen to make himself a cup of coffee, "Thank you again, but like I said, I don't need your apologies." He added as Dusekkar followed.

Notes:

Dusekkar proceeded to continuously apologise for the next three hours :3
