Work Text:

Robin finds himself outside button house, it's raining, quite heavy infact, but it doesn't matter to him as it passes right through him. Thunder crashes loud onto the land, He likes to observe the fields as it happens, Robin has never knows why he enjoyed it, it was just one of those things..

But, something feels off, something wicked feels like it's creeping up on him about to strangle him, and the feeling finally enters his vision

He watches Julian stumble around the field in fear, jumping at each bash of lightning that hits the ground

"Robin!" His voice echoes as if he wears a microphone that projects his voice all around him "R-robin where are you? Robin!"

He watches behind the fence, only watches, he tries to squirm and move but it fails, his body forces him to stand still, his power to divert lightning feels... weak, it's still there, but he just didnt feel strong enough

In his head he screamed 'Julian! Must go, must move!!!' But his body had betrayed him, all he could muster was a whisper, he tried with all his might, he tried to scream, growl, roar! nothing. He was practically silent

Lighting struck the ground again, closer to Julian, and his fear starts to spike more, the bolts feel like they walk towards him, surrounding him like he's food. It creeps closer up to him, Robin can practically see him shaking

And the it hits him.

Julian cries out a blood curdling scream of agony, as he falls to the floor, his back arches and he grips the ground in pain, his screams go on and on. They don't stop and it's all Robin can hear

He tries again, to move to scream, but the only thing that happens is a quiet breath with a faint hint of his voice. His body feels like wet spaghetti, he tries to pull the lighting from him but... Nothing, hes to weak to pull it from him, he is nothing. Robin is nothing.

The cave man jolts awake in the pantry to the sound of glass shattering, if he had they ability to touch things he would have knocked all of the tin cans directly onto the floor

His legs shake as he tries to bring himself to stand, hobbling out of his 'bedroom' to find the kitchen light broken on the floor, the windows lack and light, and the house is silent, he hopes he hadnt woken anyone up with his... his...

Was it really all a dream?

Well, if you put it into better words it was the opposite of a dream, it was horrid, and there's this weird sinking feeling inside his stomach, like it's missing something, or like all of his insides had fallen to the floor.. Just like Julian had fallen

Wait, w-was Julian even ok? Did he have the same nightmare? What if it wasn't one!

Robin racks his brain trying to separate dream from reality, his head begins to spin as it gets harder to differentiate the two

Maybe he should go check on him, just incase..

Rushing upstairs and running to Julians room, he practically falls through the wall and onto the floor, before picking himself up and running over to the sleeping politician. He lies fully still in the middle of the bed

Robin places a finger under his nose to check for his breath, it was always quite weird how the ghost stuff worked, despite being alive for so long, he never understood why certain things happened. Yet despite all this, Julian breathed perfectly fine..

His eyes also snapped open.

"AHHHH!" The MP screamed, jolting back away from his finger "Robin! Bloody hell it's the middle of the night, What the hell was that for!!"

"Me sorry! Just uh.. " He racks his brain trying to come up with an excuse but he couldn't muster one up fast enough.. Plus it'd be best to tell the truth "Had bad dream, you ok?"

"Oh, I'm perfectly fine Robin... I'll take to assume I was part of this bad dream?"

"Y-yes, just come see if you ok, not sure if dream or real.. "

The two sit in silence, staring blankly at each other, probably waiting for one of them to make the first move, I mean what does one say in this situation?

The MP decided to take initiative, rubbing his eyes and stretching as he began to talk again

"Well, as I said Im fine, so you best be off now"

"But.. " Robin tenses, brining his legs closer and fiddling with the furs of his clothes, swaying anxiously. "What if me leave then bad thing happened, need to make sure you is fine!"

Julian looks at him with tired eyes, he seems to barley comprehend what's going on around him

"Robin nothing bad is going to happen to me" he flips back over onto his side, facing away from his caveman companion "go back to sleep.. Ill be here in the morning"

"But what if y-"

"Oh my God" he shoots back up "Fine you can stay just... Complete silence I don't want to hear a peep!" Julian starts to point his finger in his face, giving him a stern look.

He shuffles over to the right side of the bed, leaving room for his new guest to lie on the left side of the bed, flipping himself back overback he gestures him to join

Robin let's out a little gasp of joy, lying on the bed he starts to cuddle himself into a ball, keeping a close eye on the door incase of an intruders... One that can see and attack ghosts

"Night Julian"

"Goodnight Robin"

Julian had fallen asleep about an hour ago, and Robin wasn't sure how long he'd been awake, he led awake staring at the door, his eyes only adverteded when he heard the politician shuffle around in his sleep. It felt like everytime he mover he only got closer to him, it had become a sort of distraction to him, struggling to focus on the 2 at once

And again, he moved around again, Robin could feel his breath on his neck, he would've moved if it didn't mean he might accidentally wake him up

"Mm, Robin.." Julian murmured

"Uh Wot" he whispered back

And Julian shuffled again, closer to Robin this time, he wrapped one arm around his and placed the other on his chest

"Ok, Who stole Julian and replace him!"

"Oh... That what happen in your nightmare?"

Robin was starting to feel... Confused, very confused, Julian is never like this. So why now?

He reluctantly cuddles him back, not because he doesn't want to but rather he doesn't know if normal Julian would be ok with it

The caveman pulls him in closer, gentley, as not to properly wake him, and it feels.. Safer, he feels like he can probably protect Julian like this rather than staring at a door, holding him close like this also made him feel stronger. Unlike in the dream, get felt like he could get hold of his powers, he felt stronger.. He felt like he could do more for Julian than ever

And the idea that his was safe soothed his mind, and finally put it at ease

Robins dreams had been quite the opposite, they were calmer and felt safer than last time, and come the morning he remains calmly sleeping, but the other ghosts beg to differ

The time for the "Smash or pass" club, suggested by both Julian and Robin the previous night was planned for today, Thomas and The captain sit in the lounge and wait for the others to arrive, mainly the clubs creators

"What the bloody hell is taking them so long!" The captain exclaims

"Well why should I know? I can't perceive where the are from right here can I?" Thomas had replied in a sassy tone, and the captain did not like this attitude one bit.

"Well! You've got legs dont you? Why don't you get up and find them?" The captain responds, trying to match his attitude

Thomas scoffs, reluctantly getting up and waltzing upstairs to Julian's room, and the captain stays sat, pleased with himself and the accomplishment of bossing people around successfully once again

Thomas saunters down the hallway, sighing of course, hes not sure why he listed to the captian, worst case scenario he starts rambling on about his fighter jets again

He pokes his head through Julians door, and instead of seeing the dammed politician, hes met with.. The back of Robins head?

He walks round to the end of the bed and finds Robin and Julian fully entwined with each other, there arms wrap around their body's, locking them into place, Julians head in squished into Robins chest as the caveman seems to gently stroke the back of his head

"... Robin?" Thomas whispers to him

Robin swats his hand indicating for Thomas to leave "you wake him!" He whispers back as loud as possible, as not to wake his lov- his friend! As not to wake his friend!

Thomas rolled his eyes and saunters out the room, God knows what those to got up to last night
