Chapter 1: The vessel

Chapter Text

He stared at the text he had sent twenty minutes ago, he had already called her five times since the morning. She didn't pick up once nor did she text back.

Satoru
Yui chan why aren't you picking up?
Are you mad at me ಥ╭╮ಥ?

There was as usual no response, He knew she was training the second year students but ignoring her husband is not a good thing now is it? He was getting impatient, how could someone completely ignore the strongest like this?
He waited half an hour more and called again, if she didn't pick up this time he'd definitely just teleport to Malaysia and bring the woman back himself. That wasn't necessary as she did pick up the phone.
"What is it Satoru?"

"Ah Yui-chan you finally answered, it's bad to ignore your beloved husband like this you know. You're breaking my heart here" He whined.

"I was asleep Satoru" she says
"Asleep? While training the students tsk tsk."
"why'd you call?" The tiredness in her tone was evident.

He sighed before answering
"I had some news, sukuna vessel has appeared, happened last night"
"Mhm I sensed something was up. Who is the vessel?"
"Itadori yuji, he can control sukuna, so right now there aren't any problems."
"What are the higher ups saying?"

"The usual 'we must eliminate him' blah blah blah" he imitated their old voices earning a chuckle from her.
"Now now was that a chuckle I heard?"

Yui could hear the smirk that formed on his face. "Anyway when is the training finishing?"

"Couple more days."
"Seriously? I haven't seen you in a week, I'm dying of loneliness here." Satoru pouted, before he could continue Yui got back into the track.

"This Yuji Itadori how old is he?"
"He's fifteen. Yaga approved of him to study in the school. I was thinking when you get back-" she cut him off.
"Hm, Satoru I'll call you later alright"
"Yui-"
She cuts the call before he could complete saying whatever he was saying. There is a sukuna vessel, something was happening in this world, things have been restless ever since the event that happened last year.

Yui:
I will be back tomorrow

Satoru:
Aww miss me already?
It's okay, no need to shorten your training.
I've got everything under control

Yui:
You sure?

Satoru:
Positive. ;p

He stared at the screen knowing damn well she'll be there the first thing in the morning, and boy was he right. The first thing he was woken up to was her tired face sleeping beside him, even in sleep there was tension in her features. He could never get bored of seeing her features, analyzing them, his eyes roamed on the scar of her neck and cheek, he brushed a strand of hair away from her face. Her eyes fluttered open to meet a pair of blue eyes.

"Morning" his voice heavy with sleep. She only hummed in response, moving a little closer to him.
"missed me too much now did you?"
"Shush" she placed a finger on his lips, he chuckled as his arms encircled her waist pulling her closer. She was still very much in need of sleep, her ash blue hair spread on the pillow. He placed a gentle kiss on the top of her head, his lips touching her soft hair, he then untangled himself from her carefully, to start the day.
He was preparing breakfast when she decided to join him.

"Hey sleepyhead, coffee?" He placed the cup of freshly brewed coffee infront of her. He was wearing his blindfold already.

"Paintbrush" her voice soft and weary.
He looked at her as he heard her voice.

"Paintbrush?" He repeated her words.

"You look like a paintbrush" she said with the most straight face, jumping up to sit on the kitchen counter.

A audible gasp left his mouth as he stood in between her legs, hands on her side. He leaned in.

"C'mon sweetheart a paint brush, seriously? Ouch."

"You're burning the breakfast, love."

The burning smell filled the kitchen, Yui took a sip of her coffee as Gojo quickly turned off the stove, and turned his gaze back to her.

"I'm a hot paintbrush though, right?" He said wiggling his eyebrows, which could be seen through the blindfold.

"Anyway sugar did you bring back the students?" He asks.

"No, kenji's with them for two days. I'm heading back after meeting the kid." She says sipping her coffee.

"When will you be back, darling?"

"Three more weeks."

"That's a long time." He leaned on the opposite counter, even with the blindfold she could feel his eyes staring in her own.

"How many finger has he consumed till now?"

"Always straight to the point huh? He ate two" he earned a sigh from her side.

"Yui-chan you worry too much you know, trust me on this hm?"

He was back inbetween her legs, his fingers slowly finding their way to her neck to trace the uneven skin of the scar on the side. Her slightly tensed body relaxed under his touch, her fingers found their way to his blindfold tugging it down to reveal his ocean blue eyes. Their eyes met, a soft comfort flowing inbetween them, Satoru leaned down as their forehead touched softly.

"It's gonna be okay, pretty girl." His voice soft and comforting, he understood her like the back of his hand.

He pressed his lips on her forehead a soft kiss, he let it linger for a while before pulling away.

"My lips are right here, you know" she pointed from her forehead to her lips, Gojo let out a snort of laughter as he leaned in again, and stopped just so their lips brush against each other.

"Quite affectionate today aren't you? Finally took some pitty on your husband?" He asks as his lips hover over her's.

His comment earned him an eye roll before she pulled him closer, their lips met in a soft kiss. The world around them faded away, her hands travelled to his face cupping it in her hand as their lips swayed in harmony.

"I've missed you, pretty girl" he said breaking the kiss, she only hummed in response. After a few seconds of comfortable silence Yui decided to break it.

"Satoru" she said in a whisper.

"Yes, my love?" His eyes never leaving her's.

She ran her fingers through his soft white hair, as he waited for her to talk. Their foreheads resting against eachother. He somewhat knew what was going on her mind, he always did.

"Nothing will happen to the kid Yui, I promise. I'm the strongest afterall, plus I've got you." His voice firm as he spoke, his hand holding the back of her's on his face. He brought her palm to his lips and placed a gentle kiss on the slight roughness of her palm. She trusted him, his voice had the same tone which he had eight years ago.

"Eat some breakfast, love. I'll take a quick shower and join you okay?" He said as he kissed her forehead, and backed away. He served her a plate of pancakes.

While he was in the shower she was left alone with her thoughts, she mindlessly scrolled through her phone hoping something would catch her attention.

"Yui-san watching a screen while eating is so not good for your health." A tiny voice said, she felt a little weight on her head.

"Get down from my head, little one." She spoke as the creature appeared in front of her.

It was no larger than a palm. Emitting yellow light. It didn't have ears, big white light for eyes and a small tiny mouth, it sat down infront of the plate of half eaten food. It was almost see through, with big doe eyes and a sweet smile. It was a soul.
Something she had created years ago.

"Finally decided show up, Nori?"

"What makes you say I left, master?"

Yui gently patted the soul's head. Nori was created twelve years ago, when Yui first joined jujutsu high in 2006.

"Ah if it isn't Nori herself" Satoru's voice heard from behind Yui. He had just gotten out of the shower, a towel draped around his waist. The scars on his chest a cruel reminder of the event of August 2006, the beginning he would call it.

***

The meeting with Itadori Yuji was nothing unusual.

"Yuji meet Yui, she'll teach you next year. If you are lucky you might receive some training this year itself." Satoru spoke in his usual happy, cheerful tone, his arm around her shoulder.

Yui looked at the boy with a stern expression, making the boy fidget in her intense gaze.
She studied him, which made Yuji more nervous. Gojo patted Yuji's back trying to ease him.
Yui sighed and took a step back. For which Yuji looked over to Gojo asking what was happening.

"Oh she's just looking into your soul" Gojo says as if it's nothing new.

"Huh? She can do that?" Yuji whispers to Gojo in an amused tone.

"I know, how scary is that?" Gojo whispers back to Yuji. For which he earned a smack on the back of his head by her fist.

"Meanie" he pouts. Just as he rubbed the back of his head, Megumi noticing Yui's presence came towards the three of them.

Her eyes lifted from Yuji's to the newcomer as she heard his soft footsteps, "you're back ma'am." Megumi says his voice softer than usual."I'll be going back in a few hours" She says. while Gojo and Yuji were busy in their own world.

"He never talks to me like that" Gojo whispers.

"Me too" Yuji whispers back.

Chapter 2: Welcome back

Chapter Text

"Have you always been so stuck up?"
"You were cuter when you couldn't talk."

The sun had begun to set, when he got the call from Ijichi. Itadori Yuji dead at mission, something he had hoped not to hear, but it was just wishful thinking. Yui was away, he was away, and the first grade sorcerers were all coincidentally away, checkmate for the higher ups.

He teleported back to Japan, directly infront of Shoko's hospital. The barrier around the hospital area stopped the cursed spirits trying to get a part of Yuji's body.

The barrier opened, for him, making him chuckle a bit, Yui's barrier. It kept out anything and everything she did not want, the barrier of souls. Satoru went straight to the morgue passing by the white hospital walls and scent of cleaning supplies, god they gave him a headache.

He found Ijichi sitting by Yuji's body extremely stiff, while Yui stood nearer leaning against the wall, crushing a cigarette bud to the ground with her shoes, hiding it, while masking the smell of cigarette with her own cursed energy, as if that could fool the six eyes.

He sighed mostly because of seeing a fifteen year old laying on a cold metal table, dead but also because of the cigarette. He flopped down beside Ijichi.

"What happened, Ijichi?" He asked in an eerily calm voice, but a vein popping from his forehead spoke a different story, making Ijichi flinch a bit.

"A curse womb, I had only asked them to investigate not to engage in any fight." Ijichi spoke finally.

"Why were three second grade sorcerers on a first grade mission...Ijichi?" Satoru said, the vein popping out more.

"There were no first grade sorcerers so...the...higher ups-"

"Ofcourse, the brilliant oak trees decided to send fifteen years to a suicide mission, and conveniently one of them happened to be the one they were trying to get rid off, the other was my son, and a girl, because god forbid a girl is strong." He snapped his tone not giving his anger the justice.

"Maybe, I should just kill them."

Ijichi was quiet not meeting his blindfolded eyes. Yui was still quiet, just looking at Satoru's outburst.

"Where is shoko?" He asks.

"She's...treating Megumi." Ijichi says.
He sighed again, silence followed the three, for a few seconds before, Yui finally spoke up.

"The cursed womb, was placed by someone. It wasn't supposed take birth there." She said.

"Yui-san, are you saying the higher ups placed it there?"

"No, but someone who knew about the higher ups wanting to kill the kid and also about the sorcerer's being away." Could be a spy, she thought, the six eyes heard.

"Then who placed it?"

"I don't know everything, Ijichi."

"But can't you sense it...? Souls and stuff? You're powerful to-"

"Stop flirting with my wife, Ijichi." Satoru cuts him off, making Ijichi annoyed a bit.

"I wasn't!" He exclaimed, "I thought, she could sense every soul-"

"Ijichi expect a forehead flick."

"Stop bullying him, Gojo."
Shoko says who entered the morgue, who had finished treating Megumi.

"Now, before you ask" she starts putting on her gloves and mask on her chin. "Megumi is fine, he had plenty bruises on his back and a lot more broken bones, nothing I can't fix, I've already sent him off." She finishes.

"Now with this one." She said looking at Yuji's body laying on the cold metal table.
"Be careful with the poking around" Yui speaks with a low voice.

"Ofcourse who do you I think I am? Now then let's get it start-" her voice trailed off as gojo smirked at the sight infront of them.

"Woah! I'm completely naked." It was Yuji's voice, Ijichi looked like he'd seen a ghost.

A smile spread on gojo's face. As shoko removed her gloves, mumbling "such a waste" while gojo stood up patting yuji's back.
"Welcome back, yuji."
"It's good to be back, Sensei." Yuji smiled brightly. Yui threw his clothes back to him, while gojo stepped out to talk to shoko. He heard Yui talking to Yuji.

***

The moonlight glowed on the ruffled sheets, as the birds returned home. Her head rested on his chest, mostly because he was holding her against him while tracing the tiny scars on her bare back, quite concentrated to count them. There was silence through the whole apartment, aside from their breaths.

"34! There are five new ones just on your back! Do your wounds not heal, woman?" He exclaimed and continued, "the next thing I know, I'd be counting unmarked skin than the scars!"

"Wouldn't that be a nice game"

He huffed, still holding her on top of him, moving one hand from her back to her hair.

After a few seconds of silence she spoke up again. "Satoru" her voice for once soft, he hummed in response while braiding on part of her hair, very messily. "The kid-" she tried to continue but he instantly cut her off.

"He doesn't remember what promise he made, does he?" Satoru sighed focus still on the braid.

"No, but there is a way, I could-"

"Nope not happening, too dangerous." He cut her off again, making her hit his chest causing him to chuckle and fake an injury.

"Stop cutting me off." She said sitting up on him, the half braid peeking out.

"Ow! Sugar that hurt! And I wasn't done there" He exclaimed, his hands finding their way to her thighs, with a cocky smirk.

She got off him, the sheets ruffled up more as he too sat up behind her, facing her back.
"Aw, yui-chan are you pouting? Lemme see, I missed your-" he cuts himself off when she turned around and he was met with a stern pair of eyes, "you hid the last finger didn't you?" Her words and her voice drained the playfulness from his. He leaned back on his hand and exhaled a deep breath, his eyes not leaving hers.

"Will I ever be able to hide something from you?"

"Answer the question." She said.

"I did, yes. The kid's fifteen and this is the best way to make sure he makes it to his thirties." he says laying back down on the bed, side ways this time, his hair dangling to the ground. While his hand rested on his chest. She also flopped down beside him, her hair reaching for the ground beside his.

"He'll be okay toru, don't try to do everything yourself." She said.

"You always say that" he says turning his body towards her, to look at her.

"And you never listen" she too turned towards him, to look at him.

"Can't help it, you're too cute when you're mad." She rolled her eyes and sat up with him the upside down head, making both of feel a bit dizzy.

"Also, I can not take you seriously when you look like you're straight out of my wet dream." He says pulling her on his lap, by her waist.

"How are you always horny?"

"Hey, don't blame me! I haven't seen my wife since three weeks, this is just the compensation."

"Right."

He chuckled while kissing her scared neck, the roughness not making him flinch.

The entire night, which was for them only from three am to five, they spent it talking, and finally asleep at five thirty. Satoru woke up just after an hour, to her laying on her stomach beside him the blanket rested on the low of her waist. Her face hidden from his gaze. He tilted his head smiling to himself at the tiny braid that was still there behind her ear.
She woke up when he was in the shower.

A few hours later, he was still around the apartment, on a week day, walking around with the blindfold on and with no shirt. She didn't bother questioning it, but around noon, she was sitting on the couch with a book open on her lap, when flopped down beside her with a bag of sweet chips, which was just chocolate with wafers, and turning on the tv.

"Where'd you hide the kid again?" She asked looking up at him.

"Wouldn't you like to know?" He replied with his stupid smirk, eating the chocolate, like his last meal, "want some, chips?" He said as she stared.

"No thank you, and don't call them chips." She says.

"Nuh uh, chips, it says right here on the packet." He said pointing on the packet.

She just gave him a look and got back to reading, after a few more minutes she spoke up.

"Satoru"

"Yeah?"

"Why you home?"

"I can't even stay at my own place?"

He throws an arm lazily on the backrest before sneakily putting it on her shoulder, the tv was just background noise now, the afternoon sun gave a glow to her figure which his blindfolded eyes were drawn to.

He wasn't least bit worried about skipping that one day as Yaga had probably just guessed he wouldn't show up to school that day when he heard from Ijichi that Yui was back.

"You're staring" Yui says not looking up her book, breaking him from his thoughts, he doesn't reply yet.

"Yui-chan" he spoke up, curling a side of her hair in his finger.
"Reading that book every other day won't give you a different answer."

"I know, that doesn't mean we just give on this." She sighed, as he pulled her closer letting her head rest beneath his chin.

"You worry too much." he spoke up.

"You worry too little."

"Hey! I do worry-"

"About yourself, asshole."

"I have you for that, sugar." He poked her nose.

"Asshole."

"Your asshole."

"Disgusting."

Chapter 3: Flaming Hot!

Chapter Text

"You ran away!?"
"Just harmless exploring."

The afternoon sun dazzled on the students as they lay on the ground covered in sweat panting.
Toge laid on Panda as Maki and Megumi were sitting with crossed legs, while Nobara was completely wrecked also laying down.

Satoru watched them from a distance, his eyes swooping on the kids then at his wife who sat on the stairs a bit away from them, she had removed her coat which was neatly folded and kept beside her, she held a wooden sword resting on the coat. Her hands on her knees and her chin on her plam. The sun illuminated her face, giving her a soft glow, the turtle neck she wore was covering her scars on her neck. Her yellow eyes were soft just enjoying the summer breeze that flowed on her face and through her hair.

"Yui-san's training is definitely something" Nobara says sitting up.

"We haven't even scratched the surface." Maki speaks up, "you'll see it next year, just how hard her training is."

There was a hint of respect in her voice, everyone knew she looked up to Yui. The others nodded, agreeing with Maki.
Yui was still on the stairs for the kids to get rested.

"Really!? What else will she make us do?" Nobara asked mostly to Maki with stars in her eyes.

"You'll see what we mean next year." Panda said making his voice deeper trying to sound scary with a laugh. Which made Nobara just stare at him.

"She makes the second years train with the curses she controls." Megumi says breaking the build up panda was giving.

"Not just that, gumi! She also let's them go out of-"
"Only for the third years, don't call me that please." Megumi says cutting off panda.

Just then all their body tense up as they feel an immensely strong crused energy, thick enough to suffocate them.

"Slacking off are you?"

All of them take a breath of relief as they hear the familiar voice of the familiar twenty eight year old, they also sighed.

"What? I know you guys are happy to see me!" He says before looking up to see, Yui walk towards the group.

"Ah! Yui-chan there you're are!" He says walking to her throwing an arm around her.
"What do you want Satoru?" She asks and he just shushed her.
"Now kids, sorry, but I'm stealing away your lovely teacher for today, train among yourselves. Make us proud" he said not even giving Yui a chance to speak before turning her and pushing her along with him. "Satoru-" he shushed her again. As he walked he could hear Nobara.

"Are they close? She looks like she barely tolerates him" she says making the second years laugh. "What?" She asks again.

"Salmon...salmon salmon." Toge says.

"What did the blondie say?" Nobara asks.

"They're married...since eight years" Megumi says.

"What now?"

***

Satoru basically dragged her along with him, as she put up with him not questioning it. After they were far away from the training grounds he stopped, and loomed infront of her.

"Yui-chan, could you please borrow a puppet from-"
"No" she said sternly crossing her arms to her chest.
"Please? The old man won't give them to me anymore..." He said putting a puppy face up.
"That face won't work everytime you know."
"But it is working this time, isn't it?" He said with a smirk. She sighed, "fine I'll get you that, it's for the kid isn't it?"

"Yep, the boy who lived."

"Did you watch Harry Potter last night?" He just nodded like a toddler.
Yui put on her coat, before speaking up again.

"I got a case yesterday, a cafe was burned up, it's probably just something normal but I'm checking it out anyway."

Satoru listened wondering why she was telling this to him when she never shared her cases with him, he waited for her to continue.
"You're coming with me, to check it out." She says, which suprised him.

"My, did the sun rise from the west today?" He says with a huge smile before continuing, "as much as I'd love to come, Yui-chan, I'm a very busy-"
"You're coming." She said leaving no room for arguments.
"Yes, ma'am."

Now, Satoru was hoping it'd just be a quick check up and he'd just teleport them to that placed but for him that day was full of surprises when she insisted on taking the subway. He even thought of taking her to see Shoko, when she held his hand. He wasn't complaining about the change but he was complaining about taking the trains.

"Yui-chan a car would be so much better than a train!" He said as she took the tickets.
"You slack off around this time anyway."
"Rude." He says guiding her into the train, his hand not leaving her lower back.

A few heads turned the way of the couple, it wasn't new to them, heads turned even when they were in a room full of sorcerers, and these were just mere weak humans. A few teenagers whispered to eachother.

"Looks like we attracted some attention" Satoru says.
"It's that idiotic blindfold of yours" she retorts.
"Seriously, what's your problem with my blindfold, hmm?"
"You look stupid."
"Ouch..?" He says.

The two of them just stare out the windows of the train, the talks becoming background noise. Their hands were on top of eachother's on the handrail a soft flow of intimacy.

"So, what was the actual reason for the subway, sugar?" Satoru whispered only for her ears.
"A few sorcerers from almost every level are working with a group of curses."
"Even students?"
She nodded, getting a sigh from him. It was something how he believed every word that came out of her mouth.
"You brought me to a subway to tell me this?" He asked.
"I don't trust the crow lady." She says, bringing a hearty laugh out of him.
"Even in our own apartment?" He asks.
Yui just shrugs. Satoru knew just how much she hated her, it had been going on since the day she met her.

The two of them soon got to the scene, which was being handled by the cops. Since it was just a fire, that for some reason burned everyone and everything inside. The crime scene was guarded even though it wasn't a big deal for the two of them .

"So can we-"
"I'm not letting you teleport me"
"Aw" he made that stupid face again.
For some reason he seemed to be acting teeny bit more joyful that day, which hadn't gone unnoticed by her. He did that everytime he was feeling too much.

"Satoru, let's go in" she says, slipping her hand into his pocket interlocking their fingers, even without expressing, her actions always grounded him. His fingers tightened around her's, still keeping up the act. His covered eyes traced over her, how the sunlight hit just perfectly on her, which for his eyes made it seem like an angelic glow.

The two of them walked into the scene. The ashs of the unfortunate humans still remained, in the corners and the creeks. Yui had closed her eyes, letting the lingering cursed energy flow through her, to see what happened.

"This was definitely a curse, a special grade probably." Gojo said, this made her eyes open, she nodded, agreeing with him.

"Don't know what it was and what the curse looks like, there is not even a single speck of soul I can feel here." Gojo just hums, while walking around.

"There were more than one, I feel different cursed energy, the one that burnt feels dominant though." Gojo says, still exploring the burnt place.
"Looks like we won't get more information from just standing here." She says.

"True-wait! Is that a sweet shop!?" He exclaimed.
"It's a small stall, that sells Kikufuku Mochi."
"You knew?"
"Why else would I ask you to come along?" She says, looking at the stall.
"Aww! Yui-chan!!" He stalked to her, picked her up from behind and spun her around causing her to yelp.

He put her down, grinning like a child, his heart felt lighter. The cops outside stared at the couple with a look of distaste, because who in their right mind would be so calm and lovey in a place that burnt up the customers like toast?
But lucky for them, they were never in the right mind.

Yui asked him to go to the stall first, which he gladly agreed to do so as her technique, soul manipulation, would be easier to work with without the six eyes around. He could sense her cursed energy from across the street while he ordered some Kikufuku mochi. He felt all of the different ways she was using her technique to uncover what had happened there, even if he was far he was still close enough to drain his eyes, and yet he couldn't stop himself from looking at her, even if his eyes stung or if his head hammered. This was one of the many reasons she did not take him with her on missions, he wasn't that free to tag along always anyway.

When she joined him at the stall he was waiting at while eating, he could see the tiny bit of confusion and curiousity in her eyes, while sitting beside him.
"How is it?" She asked.
"Perfect, as usual." He replied with a mouthful, which made her shake her head in disapproval at his table manners, but there was a tiny smile on her lips that made his heart skip a beat.

"So, what happened in there?" He asked before feeding her a bite, she took it and then answered.

"For once, I have no idea!" She sighs "There were definitely two curses and another one felt a bit inclined to a human but at the same time, it seemed like a curse." She replied while leaning back on her chair, "I'll find out after they recover the cctv footage." He hummed while eating.

"you know, Yui."

"Hm?"

"I think these may be the same curses that are affiliated with few sorcerers."

"Might be, high chances. They definitely are powerful."

There were still murmurs going around them, like in the train.

A sigh left him as he stood up, as much as he pretended to love the attention, he wasn't in the mood that day.

He got a few more mochi's to go and the two of them left the crowd behind, one of his hand held the bag of sweets, the other was on her lower back. When the two of them got away from sight, he pulled her closer so their chest would touch.
"Hold tight, sugar." He whispered in her ear as she wrapped her arms around his neck, while he fully pulled her by her waist.

He just soaked up the closeness for a few seconds before teleporting the two of them back to jujutsu tech, into his office.

"I hated every second of that" she says pulling her arms back but his arms just caged her to his desk.

"You should go home" he says leaning closer.
"It's-"
"It's five pm. You're going home, Yui." He said with quite seriousness.

"Fine, come early" she said, while he nodded before gently cupping her face in his hand, crassessing the rough skin, before leaning in and kissing her softly.

He could sense how much toll her cursed technique had taken on her by how she kissed back, like hell he'd let her work more.

This was nothing new for them, they always went home seperate mostly because Satoru worked late nights while she mostly worked in the mornings.

When he got back to their apartment the main lights were all switched off, he got to their shared bedroom where she was fast asleep, the moonlight shining on her through the windows. She was sleeping on her stomach, the blanket bunched up to her waist. He just stood there, watching, eyes soft. The blindfold long gone, he stripped and slipped into something comfortable, closed the curtains before joining her on the bed. He layed on his side just looking at her before throwing his legs and arms on her, and stealing the blanket.

"Blanket theif!" she mumbled sleepily. He just chuckled against her skin while shifting to hold her correctly.

Chapter 4: Six eyes

Chapter Text

"I'm taller than you! Look!"
"Oh shut up."

His ears were ringing, his eyes tied shut, he didn't feel his mouth, while his bare feet felt thick liquid filling the room. His wrists were chained to the wall. His robe getting wet with the liquid. The bind on his eyes broke, his eyes roamed around the room. The mirror infront of him showed someone he did not recognise, the creature had three pairs of eyes and white hair, the thing wore a smile. He stared at it as blood pooled around him, it was up to his waist now.

"Aren't you supposed to be the strongest?" The thing said. Satoru could only listen, it's voice louder than the ringing of his ears.

"What's the point of being the strongest when you couldn't even save your bestfriend, Satoru Gojo?" The thing said again, the smile growing wider, and wider as the skin around its mouth started ripping into flesh.

"Pathetic, you'll lose her too." It continued, the blood reached his neck, it was too thick. The chains heavy on his wrists and ankles.
"You'll kill her too, like you killed him." The thing continued, it's voice getting louder as blood flowed from its mouth and the ripped open lips, that continued, as chunks of meat fell. It's laughs were loud, mocking him, the blood was drowning him.

His breathing tightened as he choked, the chains clasped harder onto his wrists and feet pulling him back to the wall. His heart thumped against his chest.

Until he felt a familiar warmth flowing into him. He's racing heart was being held, his soul was being tended to. The nightmare was being suppressed, as he felt her fingertips on his scalp, her cursed technique flowing softly from her fingers tips into him. His headache softened. His tensed body relaxed on top of her. He breathed a relaxed breath.

Satoru rarely dreamt but when he did it was always the six eyed creature taunting him.
"Satoru" He heard her soft call. His eyes fluttered and went back into sleep. Just listening to her heart beat against his ear. He didn't dream the next few hours of his sleep, but he was engulfed in the warmth she was providing him.

When his eyes opened, he noticed she was missing from the bed. He threw his legs off the bed, sighing, there were a small drops of sweat on his chest, abs and back. He leaned back on his hand, rolling his head back. He heard the shower running which meant she was in there, his mind started wandering but the creature's words pulled his mind back. He never really let the words get to him before but last night's words hit a bit.

He groaned and stood up, ditching his sweatpants, and boxers and decided to join her in the shower.
He opened the bathroom door to be greeted with hot steam, his eyes caught onto her figure in the shower. He softly closed the door behind him before stepping into the shower with her.

"Good morning." She muttered as he wrapped his arms around her slippery waist while pulling her back into his chest.

"It is indeed a good morning, sugar." He whispered in her ear in his morning voice, while kissing her earlobe.

The hot water fell on both of them, his lips started to travel kissing her neck, her nape, and travelling down from her neck till her hips, where the scar ran, from her neck till her hips. Even though it was a thin, sword scar it wasn't ignorable on her skin.

"Thank you" he whispered against her skin, just holding her as the hot water flowed onto them, he was kneeling infront of her, holding her.

"What for?" She asked, turning in his arms.

He just shrugged before letting his lips continue their journey in worshiping her body.
He was never good with words, this was his way of thanking her. The shower glass was soon covered with a different type of steam.

When it was over he rested his forehead on hers to ground himself back to Earth. The hot water continued to drench them as her hands cupped his face, his blue eyes fluttered shut at her touch. They just held each other under the water, their bodies connected, she knew it was a bad dream he had, she always did. That's why their relationship had been working, even though both of them weren't good with words.

They just knew, words were never required for them. Satoru shifted and laid his head on her shoulder holding her tightly against him, both their skins slick, she held him back massaging his nape.

The words of the creature still rang through his ears, he hadn't dreamt about him since last December.

It didn't sit right with him, why would he suddenly dream about him? His grip around her tightened.

"Satoru" she started, making him pull back and look at her, he didn't want to stop touching her so he put his forehead back on hers.

"We'll drain the tank"

"I could care less about that, I just...let's just stay like this for a while, yeah?" She nodded in response.

He slowly sat down with his back to the shower wall, pulling her down on his lap. The water droplets fell on his face like tears, she wiped his face and shifted his wet hair. He was breaking. She saw it in his eyes, and he saw the slight panic in hers. His lips formed a small and tired smile.

She pulled him against her chest, his ear rested right on her chest, listening to her heartbeat, a shaky breath left him. They stayed like that-for a few minutes.

Before she spoke up,"Let's take a break today, Satoru." She said while holding him right there. He took a few seconds before taking a breath and getting up, and helping her up. He turned off the shower, before bringing his gaze back to hers.

"Can't do that, tons of work to do." He says stepping out of the shower and wrapping a towel tightly on his waist, and left the bathroom, leaving her right there. He mentally cursed himself for worrying her as he got dressed.

She came out of the shower after a few seconds, in a towel herself. He was already in uniform and blindfold.
He was tired, she could see it in his movements.
She got dressed in her uniform and went to the living room.

"Satoru" she called out as he was walking around the apartment looking for something.

"Hm?"

"The puppet is right there on the couch." She said, just observing him.

"Oh! Thanks love." He grabs it, then turns and walks towards her. He saw it in her eyes even with the poker face, she was worried. He leaned down to kiss her. She put her palm on his lips.

"My my what's this?" He mumbled against her palm.

"You aren't going"

"Oh? And you're gonna stop-" she grabbed his wrist and throws him on the bed, causing an oph sound from him.

Sometimes he forgets how strong she was, and she always reminded hlim. She rolled him into the blanket like a burrito. His face peeking out of the edge, a pout forming him.

"Oh c'mon, Yui. I'm fine!" He exclaimed.

"Don't care, you're sleeping in today." She says and got up to leave, just to be pulled back on the bed on him by her wrist. He had broken out of the blanket burrito.

"Then we're both sleeping in." he says caging her in his legs and arms.

Her back was against his chest, his legs on her hips, arms around her shoulders caging her completely. He played this trick everytime, everytime she got too worried. She got out of his arms and sat up, he sat up with her.

It was a nice act the two played, both of them couldn't afford to sleep in, and they knew that, yet it was the comforting delusion of normality for them.

An act of feeling human until reality hits them. No matter how much they pretended to be normal, pretending doesn't turn something into reality and it would never come true for them.

"Let's go" he says pressing his forehead to her nape, and teleporting both of them to jujutsu high, just in time for the first class.

He wondered if they could ever be frank with eachother, even if the two of them knew, even if they knew, he wondered if they'd ever sit down and talk without the act normality. He wondered this the whole day, when he taught classes, even when he'd gone to meet Yuji. His brain was running fast.

***

It was around nine pm, he was eating with Yuji when his phone rang. He didn't hide the look of distaste on his face when he saw the caller ID, it was one of the higher ups. They had called him to send him to a investigation.

"Gojo, there has been a murder, check it out. It should be your first priority." The old voice said from the other end.

"why is this a priority?" He asks barely interested.

"The man killed was one from the council." The elder said.

Satoru's eyes widened just a bit before a smirk spread on his lips.
"Oh? Mkay" he said cutting the call, he didn't want to talk to the old man anymore anyway.

He bid his byes to Yuji, and headed to the scene there wasn't even a tinge of cursed energy. When he got to the victim's house, the word of the death of a higher up wasn't out yet so the house was quite empty.

He got to the man's room, where the scene was left untouched. He still couldn't sense any cursed energy. The old man's bodyguards were snapped to half their blood painted on the walls. The man himself was beyond recognition, Satoru just looked at the body. The head was laying away from the body, blood pooling between them. His skull was smashed into the ground before it was ripped out of the body by the neck.

Satoru let out a low whistle when his six eyes saw how gruesome death it was, "that's definitely one way to go." He muttered.

There wasn't much he could do other than observe. Even though his six eyes could sense anything and everything it couldn't sense souls unlike Yui, but the higher ups didn't really trust Yui to handle this investigation. It was funny how they believed he wouldn't tell her, this good news was definitely gonna be shared, he was there for a couple more hours before heading back home.

Yui was still up with some paperwork on the couch when he reached She had only kept on the dim lights in the living room, her was pulled up in a ponytail which exposed her scared neck and cheek, she was wearing his shirt and shorts, he removed his shoes and jacket.

"Whatcha doin up?" He asks before flopping down beside her.

"Paperwork" she replied as he put his chin on her shoulder.

"I can see that" he said nuzzling into her neck.

"Satoru go get some sleep, it's two in the morning." She said not looking up from her papers.

He just hummed in response before sitting up straight, and just look at her, there was a silence for a few seconds until he spoke up again.

"Oh and Ichimura's dead." He said casually while reading from her shoulder.

"How?" She asked not looking up from her papers with no suprise or whatsoever.

"Head smashed to the ground, not a clean death." He wasn't suprised by her lack of interest.
"Deserved I have to say, whoever did it did the world a favour." He continued, she hummed in response.

He watched her before taking the papers from her hands, "that's enough for you, we're going to bed." He muttered before pulling her up, she didn't protest because that would get them nowhere.

She also didn't protest when he hoisted her up and on his shoulder, "this isn't necessary you know" she says while hanging off his shoulder.

"I know, but payback for manhandling me in the morning."

"Your payback is to carry me to the bedroom that is a few steps away?"

"You talk too much."

"You're an idiot."

"No way to talk to your husband, woman."

"Cry me a river."

Chapter 5: Ren

Chapter Text

"What's with the pendent?"
"Oh this? I donno."

It had been a month seen the higher up Ichimura's death, some other old man had already replaced him. The sister exchange event was approaching soon. Satoru had been attacked on which he didn't think to mention to Yui because he didn't even consider it as an attack. Yuji was almost done with his training.
It had been raining when Satoru introducing Yuji to Nanami.
Yuji's first assignment, no one was worried really since Nanami was with him afterall.

That evening, the hideout was eerie as the group looked at the transfigured bodies. Yui crouched down beside the corpses and touched the flesh, as the others watched. They saw her cursed energy passing from her palm into the body, there was no change, just a mush of flesh.

"Straight to the soul" she muttered, standing up and wiping her hand to a napkin.

"Are they really humans sensei?" Yuji asked, for which Yui nodded, before correcting him by saying "were".

"Oo how disgusting." A familiar voice spoke from Yui's shoulder, it was a small soul just like Nori, but instead of yellow this one was blue. It appeared out of thing air and sat on her shoulder holding onto her ear lobe like a child.

"Huh? Gojo sensei!? Why does that thing have his voice? What is that?" Yuji exclaimed taken aback.

The soul turned around to see Yuji and stuck his tongue out at him. Before turning back and observing Yui that was observing the corpses. Nanami was at the couch resting, Shoko had finished healing him, she too was looking at the corpses.

"I still don't know what that is." Yuji spoke up, making Yui turn around to Yuji.

"This is Ren, a soul. It has Satoru's voice because I made this by taking a little fragment of his soul." She says, like it is the most normal thing in the world. While Ren gave Yuji a peace sign.

"What can you not do, Sensei?" Yuji asks flabbergasted.

"Bring those disfigured humans back." She replied before continuing, "Nanami how was the curse that made this art?"

Nanami opened his eyes, and sat up straight on the couch before telling her everything about the patched face curse. She just nodded, while listening to him.
As she listened to Nanami, Yuji turned to Shoko, Ren still on Yui's shoulder.

"I still don't understand about that thing." he whispered to her.

"Well, it'll take time it took me months too." shoko replied before continuing. "You see, Ren is made from a fragment of Gojo's soul while there is another little yellow soul that Yui made from her own soul, with me so far?" For which Yuji nodded.

"They are like little continuation of their souls. Ren's and Satoru's memories are connected just like Nori's and Yui's. Ren is always with Yui while Nori is always with Gojo. Its disgustingly cute." Shoko said.

"So...they work like calls?"

"More like video calls, yeah, pretty much."

"Does that mean they are always connected?" Yuji asks out of curiosity, observing Ren. Shoko hums in response.

"That's...did not know that Gojo Sensei was such a romantic person..." Yuji says softly, mostly to himself, awfully calm.

Satoru had just finished up all the paperworks. It was around one in the morning, he stretched in his seat, ready to head home early.

The school grounds were completely silent, the only light in the building was from his office. He flicked the lights off and headed down the hall, he had an urge and he followed it.

Down into the students dorms, then to Megumi's room. Lights reached out of the closed door, hinting he was still awake.

"Megumi-chan, better sleep it's one am." He said acting nonchalantly failing terribly.

He didn't get any annoyed remark back from the door. His fingers wrapped around the door handle, suprisingly it was open.

He went in and saw Megumi fast asleep on the study table, lights beaming on him. Megumi held a photo frame in his hands as he slept like a baby.

Satoru smiled softly looking at the picture, it was of the four of them, Yui was beside him, Megumi in between the two and Tsumiki on her lap, Yui had a beaming smile on her face while Satoru had one of his arm wrapped around Yui with his head touching hers, Yui had one of her arm around Tsumiki the other around Megumi.

Megumi tried to act unbothered but failed there was a hint of smile on his face in the photo.

They were young, all four of them and beaming with joy. Yui was barely twenty when that picture had been taken yet her skin still wore the scars.

He remembered why they had taken those pictures, to prove to a school that they were a real family. Since Satoru had changed both of their schools to a better and prestige one after officially adopting them.

His hand reached out gently pressing his palm on Megumi's rested head, waking him up slowly.

"Sleep on the bed kid, you'll get a back ache." He said in a mere whisper, which woke Megumi up.

He was still half asleep and clinging to the picture frame. Satoru helped him to the bed and watched Megumi just falling on the mattress. Satoru pulled the blanket on Megumi.

"Good night, Megumi." He said softly before leaving his senses picked up the faint whisper that left the sleepy boy.

"Good night, dad."

Yui was already asleep when Satoru came in with complete joy. He opened the bedroom door found her sleeping with the curtains open, he wondered if she did that on purpose.

She was sleeping on her back, one arm resting on her stomach the other thrown on her eyes. Her hair was tied in a messy braid.

He hastily changed into sweatpants, removing his blindfold, throwing it aside, and basically jumped on the bed to wake her up.

He shook her lightly, her arm came off her eyes and she yawned looking up at him.

"Is someone dying?"

"No!"

"Then why'd you wake me up?" She tried to sit up but he held her down she was taken aback from the look of pure joy on his face.

"What?" She asked.

"He...called...me...DAD!!" he almost screamed in joy, he let his words sink into her sleepy brain.

Her lips tilted, a soft smile on her face as she looked at him.

He lost himself in her smile, god he had missed it. He hadn't seen that smile in years, the genuine smile of her's that made her eyes disappear and her cheeks puff up. He forgot why he was so joyfully in the first place, he leaned down instinctively and kissed her forehead.

"I love you." He said, not hearing his own voice.

She just smiled, too sleepy to hide behind her walls. He melted down onto of her. Laying his head on her stomach, his feet off the bed.

"Sleep properly, toru." She scolded making him shift and lay down next to her.

"I love you too" she said while he fell asleep.

________

Chapter 6: First loss

Chapter Text

"Between the two who is the calmer one?"
"Gojo definitely, well...Yui is surely making him more human."

The light blub flickered emitting a red hue, the walls were painted with blood, splatters even on the bulb. Curses lingered on the bodies eating away their cursed energy. It was nothing different from a slaughter house.

He cringed at the sight, fixing his glasses. The room stunk of flesh and blood. He wondered what the higher ups wanted him to do by sending him to all these scene. It's not like he could see what happened in the past, and he sure as hell did not care if the higher ups were being slaughtered left and right.

This time there were two corpses of the higher ups, twins. He hated them, I mean he hated all of them anyway.

Nori appeared on his head, since his hair was down, she sat comfortably.

"Yui-san will get mad if you get late for the date." Nori states.

"I know, I know. I'm trying not to get any of their filthy blood on my shoes." He said with distaste and continued, "I feel no cursed energy, do you think the assassin is a non-sorcerer?"

"Might be, but a non-sorcerer is not strong enough to get past the bodyguards-right?" Nori said.

Satoru hummed, before his eyes caught a movement, too quick for mere humans. A smirk spread on his lips, he turned around on his heel and walked out of the estate.

"What...? You won't check it out?" Nori asks.

"And risk getting Yui mad? I'd rather fight the king of curses than get your master angry." Satoru said as he stood in front of the car, Ijichi looked up as Satoru came back from the estate within a few minutes.

"Gojo-san that was quick." He said.

"Oh yeah, I have a date." Satoru said simply and got into the backseat.

Ijichi stared but didn't question the poor thing was too terrified to question his way of work. He got into the driver's seat, looking back at Satoru who was on his phone scrolling, Nori now laying flat and also looking at his phone.

"Where to?" Ijichi asked.

"Back home, and wait there you gotta drop me and her off to the hotel I chose." Satoru says not looking up.

"Gojo-san I'm not your personal Chauffeur-" he cut himself off when he saw Satoru's eyes in the rearview mirror.

Ijichi started driving the estate fading in the background.

After a few minutes Nori tugged on his hair catching his attention, she slid down from his head to his shoulder then down on his lap. He looked at the soul question in his eyes.

"She's gonna cancel the date." Nori said suddenly, "asked me to let you know, she'll call though." Nori continued.

Satoru sighed, this wasn't the first time this has happened and just as Nori had said his phone rang, her name and a photo lighting up on the screen. He it picked up and brought it to his ear.

"Come to the safe house, now." She said cutting the call. Ijichi sped up towards the safe house. Satoru leaned back on seat, gently petting Nori's head, she smiled.

It always amused him whenever Nori smiled. Nori was a part of her that she had given to him, they were so different yet so similar. Nori was made when Yui was a teenager, so-it was exactly like the sixteen year old girl that stepped into jujutsu high. While Ren was exactly like the seventeen year old Satoru.

The car sped towards the safe house, they reached after a few minutes. Yui opened the door, she wasn't in her usual uniform. He let his gaze run over her body, a long black coat hung on her shoulders, a white tube top with black wide jeans. A short golden chain adorned her neck with her normal neck chain. His eyes roamed about, oh she had gotten ready for the date, a small smirked started forming on his lips.

She stepped aside letting him walk through, he looked at the couch and the smirk disappeared. Shoko was there treating a wounded Nanami and Yuji.

"Ah! Gojo sensei you're-woah you look good" Yuji complimented.

"Thanks Yuji-kun, I had a date." Satoru says, making Yuji look and Yui before looking back at Satoru.

"Anyway, what happened?" Satoru asks. That's when Nanami opened his eyes.

"A special grade curse, it was the one that used idle transformation-" Nanami started.

"Patch faced" Yuji chimed in.

"Yeah, patch face. That curse had brainwashed junpei making him take his whole school hostage. That cursed transformed him when we reached there." Nanami finished.

"The students were fine...just that curse ran away, couldn't exorcise it." Yuji added.

From what they had heard from Nanami, Yuji had grown closer to Junpei, for someone that has witnessed a death of a friend he was taking it well. Guess he'd gotten used to it, people dying around him.
Satoru figured they hadn't eaten dinner yet, so he went of and bought some for the five of them. They ate in silence mostly, even the ever talkative Yuji and gojo were quiet. Yuji, grieving a friend while the other three it had been years since they had eaten together. A flash of nostalgia hitting them like truck.

***

The next day Satoru and Nanami were at the safe house to check up on Yuji. Yui was away on a short mission, the higher ups loved suprising her by sending her away the first thing in the morning. Satoru and Nanami were lounging in the back yard of the safe house.

Satoru's long legs stretched on the table while Nanami st crossed legged reading a newspaper, he sometimes wondered if this man secretly a sixty year old in a twenty-seven year old's body.

"Hey! Nanamiiii I'm bored." Satoru whined, "let's go on a treking camp, we could have loads of sweets. We could video it a post it over social media" he clapped his hands above his head. "We could play a guessing game, top ten favourite things about Satoru Gojo." Satoru said.

"Pass" nanami answered in a single word.

"You're no fun, literally opposite of Yui."

"I don't want to be her either, imagine being your wife." Nanami retorts.

As if she had heard her name, she came into the backyard right next second holding three cans. She threw the fruit juice to Satoru, the strong coffee for Nanami the other can for herself. She sat down beside Satoru, Nanami muttered a thank you.

"Aw Yui-chan you shouldn't have..." Satoru says while drinking the juice with delight.

"You texted me to bring them."

Satoru just slurps on his juice, as a soft silence passes over them.

"How is Yuji handling the situation, it's the first time he's seen a friend pass in front of him right?" Nanami breaks the silence after placing the coffee down on the table and fixing his glasses.

"He isn't moping around." Satoru replied leaning back.

"He's right behind the door." Yui added, there was a thud behind the door hinting that Yuji might have hit his head to the door while trying to listen to his teachers.

He understood that there was no point in hiding anymore he steps inside.

"Gojo Sensei!!" Yuji yells in excitement as he bursted into the room. Both the Gojo's turned.

"How long do I stay hidden? When can I meet fushiguro and kugisaki!!?" Yuji spoke while barely containing his excitement.

"Yuji-kun you've been dead for two months." Satoru starts seriously with two fingers on his chin while looking at him. "You can't just show up! We'll make it a reveal they will remember!"

"Woah! How?"

"Leave it to me." Satoru chuckled pointing his thumb at himself with a huge grin.

Nanami sighed, "he's gonna do something idiotic" he muttered under his breath.

"Very idiotic" Yui replied.
