“Put the groceries in the fridge,” Shadow says as he opens the door.
Sonic zooms in from behind him, holding up the grocery bags with a grin. “Yeah, yeah, I know. Go sit on the couch and trust your roomie to do the work!"
Shadow grumbles something like what trust? under his breath, but it doesn’t mean anything. Not anymore. Not since he invited Sonic to share his apartment with him.
Shadow hates grocery shopping on the weekend. Thankfully, Sonic is there to make it better.

“Hey, Tails! Tails, look!”
Tails raised his head curiously from his book to see Sonic standing before him. In his hands was what appeared to be a large blanket.
Looking up, Tails could see that glint in his brother’s eyes. That same glint whenever he got excited.
“What is it?”
“Check this out.” Sonic grinned.
Tails decided to indulge his brother, dog-earing the page he was on in his book before setting it down.
Sonic raised the blanket, covering himself from Tails’ view before he dropped the blanket.
And Sonic was nowhere to be seen.
