    Pros to Jason escaping: Now he has a higher chance of being reunited with his family

    Poor Nocturna really did love Jason, in her own way. But in the comics I just always got the feeling that she didn't really understand what it meant to be a mom. She's never all that affectionate with Jason and seems to be expecting him to take the first step to making them a "real" mother and son. It's my impression that she just wanted someone to adore her--like she did the night, or like Anton (her step-brother/lover--comics are weird) adored her--but in, like, an innocent way, and thought having a kid would provide that. She's the epitome of "loved the idea of children more than the reality."
