    I don't know if this makes any difference but college softball players play on turf if that makes any difference but love the story.

      I played college ball at a Division 1 school for four years. Neither ours nor any of the other fields I ever played on in my entire career had turf. Also, softball diamonds nearly always have a full dirt infield, rather than the grass that baseball diamonds have, and the outfield is grass.

        I play softball too. I was on a college field yesterday so maybe it was a different division. I loved your story though.
