i love to cook im just messy when doing so but i like experimenting in the kitchen alot and its a 50/50 whether my food will taste good. Also im the same way with fire i like messing with lighters and matches or help my dad with bonfires or burning garbage.
My dad just makes a huge pile of kindling or throws a couple pallets in the pit and douses it in lighter fluid or as we call it boy scout water and tells everyone to stand back as he throws a match on it. I'm like redneck pyromaniac like making fires you can see from outer space.
One of the funnier bonfires we had is when a neighbor called the police on our bonfire party and the fire department came out only to tell us we were fine and my dad invited a couple of the fireman out after they were off duty and they showed up with smore ingredients for us kids and worked with my dad to teach him how to make amazing but properly controlled fires and one taught my dad the best wood to keep a fire roaring. Nothing is funnier than having a salty neighbor report you than having the very same fireman bring you fucking smore and kick back with you dad for a couple beers.
Oh my god LOL! XD (I remember the only bonfire I actually got to take part in wsas really big, yet whenever I moved the wind seemed to change just so I wouldn't stop getting smoke in my face; I didn't really mind, but it ended up being just me swinging around the fire every few minutes like "CAN'T CATCH ME!" *whomph* X'D)
Some of my favorite bonfires were the pig roast in Hell, Michigan (yes there is literally a small town in my state called Hell) where they would cook a huge pig over a bonfire and it was kinda all you could eat till the pig was gone then we went over to the ice cream shop cause Hell has some of the best ice cream and smoothies then we sat around and listened to old people (mostly old bikers) tell funny stories of there travels or entertained us kids with music.
I REMEMBER HEARING ABOUT THAT PLACE!!... (Mainly when it froze over X'D) (Meeeaaaaat...) And that, m'dear, is called a Hog Roast! They are THE BEST!!! (Though my Dad loves Bullying Mum and I about not being vegetarian, so I only got to join in a hog roast once, when it was at my mum's cousin's farm, and I mainly remember literally eating until I was stuffed, toddling home... Then up chucking once out the car 'cause HOLY FUCK DON'T LET ME OVER-EAT WHILST TIPSY! X'D)
For some reason I don't understand vegetarians i mean biologically we are omnivores if you look at the make up of our teeth compared to herbivore so we are scientifically supposed to eat meat seeing as our bodies require the consumption of it to stay healthy also I will backhand pet owner that take in carnivore or primarily meat eating animal and try to force them to be vegetarian that can literally kill a animal or make them extremely unhealthy I mean i have no problem with vegetarians until there beliefs are hurting other.
Ahhhh, the fun thing is, my Dad is vegetarian and my bro is whenever he visits, because Mum managed to get the middle-ground for most meals which means my Mum and I are usually pescatarian (just fish and vegie) around my old man, then sneaking in meat as a snack on the side or something. It is annoying how much it can cause those sorts of problems, 'cause there's the idea that mushrooms and nuts make a good stand in for meat, yet as far as I see it, there's the circle of life and foodchain, so it's //normal// to eat meat... (It's also why I don't really care when I find a dead bird killed by a cat in the street, or a rabbit or bird run over, since they're also eaten by cats and humans, it's just animals like hedgehogs and foxes that get run over that I get upset about (haaa, hedgehogs are my favourite small omnivore animal and foxes are another of my fav carnivorous creatures!))
I would be an asshole and eat meat in front of him its his choice to only consume vegetable and what he is doing is being manipulative by forcing his lifestyle on you and you mother by making you feel shame for eating meat to the point you have to sneak around. I know your British and prize respecting your elders above all else but your dad is being manipulative which is a form of emotional abuse by shaming you for doing somehthing that is not harmful or illegal but hurts his wittle feelsies. Despite your British heritage your are not subject to your country's opinions and should be what make you strong not what a bunch crusty old English people expect you to be times have changed society has changed they either catch up or get left behind. Don't bow to anyone as an adult even your dad especially over him belittling and outright shaming something as harmless as your dietary habits.

XD (I'm the babu of my bro and I, we would have had a bigger bro, Sam, though he was Stillborn; the whacky thing is that sorta makes us kids a macabre thing of dead, perpetually ill and [maybe(?)] healthy. I have a feeling if my parents had one more kid they'd be the Most Healthy Being on Earth, like if my aunt had one more kid I'd have a cousin who'd be 7ft tall or smn X'D)
our family had a hard time producing boys so honestly that why all my generation in my family is girls with the exception of me now but yeah im the baby of all my sister and cousins so it was rough growing up. However im honestly besides my sister Sarah the only one who hasn't popped out a kid yet and besides my sister Amber the only one who isn't married yet though i do have a lovely fiance. I am also the only queer one out of my biological family cause i do have a step sister who is married to a woman.
So cute! XD The only step-family I can think of is my Uncle on my Dad's side, who remarried after his first wife left him, but then he married my new Auntie, and she's Awesome! XD She gives me her hand me downs when she knows they'll fit me and she has my style down-pat, 'cause all her kids are bigger than her now! XD
Yeah my family's quite small and most of them are assholes anyway it why i stopped going to family events. After my grandma died there really wasn't any point in it anymore honestly i got to more of my fiance's family events then I do my own cause her family is more tolerable than my narcissistic know it all family plus i hate dealing with my cousins little heathen children only small child in my family i actively deal with is my nephew cause he a little angel with how my sis is raising him and he so cute and he pretty fucking smart for only just turning two years old. i have a annoying family that takes more patience to deal with than should be humanly necessary i only really talk to my sisters Amber and Sarah and my dad and my grandpa when he is around cause like any elderly American he lives in Florida and only comes up once a year.
Aaaah. The only family I can really tolerate is my grandparents and maybe my mum and bro, otherwise it's too estranged on my dad's side and there are too many people on the other side... (I even remember my Great-Grandpa from my dad's side!! He always had something for me and Wilf to play with and I remember he had the best sort of garden view - though the garden itself was small and just grass with a path leading to a shed in the corner, you could see one of the few remaining farmer's fields over the other side slopping up to the sky! There was also a multicoloured wind-turbine sat close to the door, so from the right angle it'd look like it was part of the horizon! *grandparent complex pokes its head out again*)
i loved going to my grandparents house in this place in Michigan called Saranac there house sat on a lake which we occasionally swam in and in the spring we would get a visit from this duck couple we called Donald and Daisy and their babies for that year plus the wildlife like the squirrel were fun to watch and grandma put up bird feeder for dozens of different birds like Orioles and hummingbirds so we saw lots of cute birds and i could identify each one cause of the bird watching books grandpa kept in the living room. The permanently moved down to Florida when i was a kid so we rarely saw them anymore then grandma died and grandpa comes up maybe once a year to see us but i don't know it just feels like nothing the same after grandma died like she was the only one who kept us from fighting and being assholes to each other....it kinda feels like grandpa doesnt even care anymore like....it feels like i don't even have a family anymore just a group of people who just happen to share blood and get together maybe once a year to posture and peacock like it makes them so much better than the next person....it kinda just depressing now when i think about it.
Ah... I think I'm kinda lucky, because my Grandparents are equally friendly and polite, I've never actually seen them argue or anything; they're very much the Traditional British Couple, also? Because Granny is very feminine and knows how to cook, clean and stuff, whilst Grampy knows how to garden and do mechanics and stuff. Together they make their home really nice and snug, and they actually built it together from the ruins of an abandoned church, so I remember being in year 4 (about 8/9ish in age) all "My grandparents are awesome! They're building their Own House!" It's not really complete, because the room that used to be Gramp's workshop is being turned into Granny's sewing room whilst Grampa's modifying one of the three sheds outside (Wilf and I got to help out with that! It was fun! ^w^) I think it's from them that I partially get my love of statues and dolls and antiques? 'Cause Grampa managed to buy 2 1940s trucks and then that old sort of Gypsy's wagon, whilst my Gran got all these adorable statues for the garden and porcelain statuettes to put around the house, as well as a few china dolls (two of which she bought for me, though there's apparently so much stuff in our house I can't have them over here ¬~¬) They live in Wales, in the countryside, so I love visiting them a lot! (Though they voted brexit... But that was because they were tricked with the idea of their peaceful home being turned into a busy place like London, which is just... TMI 24/7 =w=")
honestly i stopped caring about my family past my dad and step mom, my bio and adopted sister and my grandpa people like my girlfriend and my friends even you are more like family than my own blood relatives in my opinion it not blood that makes family it love and people that actually give a shit about your wellbeing.
Ah~! Thanksu~~! XD (TBH, I always end up calling my friends "Big Sis", Mama", "Auntie" and now my "Momma" friend has a boyfriend... Who definitely acts like a Dad already... ¬w¬) (Though I only tend to use the terms in my head because last time I said it out loud I was told off by some whilst the "granny" of our group was just like "Ah! Does that make ___ my daughter?!" which was shortly followed by screaming X'D)
Im more like aggressive wine dad friend like hell on the Homestuck amino app im the father of this group of transboys who are all like under the age of sixteen. at times i also seem like mafia dad friend cause im like my children must stay safe while while bending the rules and being chaotic little demons.
