Comment on Childhood's End

  1. “Laure, hold still a moment.” She half-knelt to grasp the smaller girl around her middle and hoisted her up, almost high enough to sit on her shoulder; her old bones groaned with the effort.

The idea of Eileen holding up the little girl to show Djura who was coming was genius. I would have never thought of that (and probably would have taken a gatling barrage to the face for being so stupid). The reminder that Eileen is actually pretty old is a nice touch too.

Something else I noticed, the point where your story diverged is important when one thinks about it. The difference between yours and canon is Gascoigne's daughter actually left her house to find her parents. Think on that for a moment, she won't be at the house when the player character comes knocking. Ergo, we don't get the music box and the mini questline with the little girl never happens. She might actually survive this! Secondly, if Djura is going to do what I think he's doing, then he may not be in Old Yhrnam when we get there. He might make it through the night too!

Isn't it funny how a single changed event can have a ripple effect? Even something as simple as a little girl stepping outside vs. staying indoors.
