Oh i LOVE this. It's absolutely gorgeous. I love the premise and I adore that you used Raven's POV for it. I would honestly read a whole series of this AU from different perspectives. Murphy's POV. Bellamy's POV. Emori's POV. But I adore Raven and I love getting her perspective on everyone's changing relationships and dynamics while balancing her own feelings for Murphy and the secret of Clarke. I've been so fascinated by the potential of Raven and Murphy and one of my absolute favorite parts was this:
"...there’s something breathtaking about being the focus of such singular devotion, knowing that there’s something deeper than love tying you together. There’s this horrible thing that happened, this terrible almost accident that should have guaranteed that you never said a single kind word to each other again but somehow drew you together, in the end."
What a great way to look at how their relationship has changed and deepened.
Thank you! I didn't originally intend to stick with Raven all the way through, but I liked keeping the mystery of Murphy's feelings, and the breakup with Emori, and the impending Becho. And Raven was a lot of fun to write. She's probably my 2nd favorite character on the show after Bellamy, and I've never written from her POV before, so it was definitely a treat!
I've been fascinated by Raven and Murphy's dynamic since the moment she tried to give him up to the Grounders. I liked the dropship scenes but for some reason they didn't really grab me until the moment Murphy said he came to help with the Finn thing because Raven asked. That moment really underscored their dynamic to me, and it's one of the things that first got me thinking about shipping them.
