Thank you so much!! Characterization is always the thing I'm worried about the most, so I'm really glad to hear you say that!
Murphy and Raven's dynamic has always been one of my favorite developments of the show. This show is all about enemies to allies/friends/lovers (Bellarke, Clexa, Becho, Kabby, etc) but Murven's change has always been so FASCINATING to me. If someone had told me back around season 1 that Murphy would STILL BE AROUND and would also be one of my favorite characters, I never would have believed them.
I feel really bad for Echo as a character, because even from when she first showed up in Season 2, I was like "oh, she's here to be a love interest to Bellamy like Lexa is for Clarke". and it's not like I disliked her based on that, but I was annoyed that that was her PURPOSE. I'm glad they're finally giving her more to do than be an obstacle to the heroes, and so like Raven I felt a little guilty that I was ruining her romantic arc haha. But I also wanted to show that she really IS a part of their family, because I think a lot of fans have been struggling with watching Bellamy care about people that the fans didn't get to watch him learn to care about. I think it makes sense for Spacekru to be as close as they are, and I wanted to show at least a little of what they might have spent time doing together. Also I just loved the idea of a badass grounder spy discovering TV and movies and getting very sucked in.
I started and rewrote that scene when Bellamy hears the calls SO MANY TIMES. I was so nervous of not getting it right! So thank you, I'm glad it paid off!
