Well fuck. Keicho is alive! This is certainly AU! Jotaro will have to track him down to get info on Akira?

Also, damn. I cried for some moments! And yay for Okuyasu and Josuke (plus Koichi) getting their meet cute!

This reminds me that Araki never showed us if Josuke tried to his Okuyasu's dad or anything.

    1. Ah! Thank you for reading! This is where the real AU starts. Still following canon timeline but I switched things up a bit. And there will be more about Okuyasu's dad in Part 3 (or maybe 4...I actually can't remember of the top of my head). I have some theories about how the flesh buds work...

I do wonder how things will change now with Keicho alive. But man, that backstory and his inner thoughts were harsh to read. Made me feel sorry but also made me want to kick his ass. Okuyasu was poor little kid... but then I remember Keicho was too and then he fucked up.

        1. I've always had a lot of sympathy for Keicho. Of course I abhor how Keicho treats Okuyasu (because Okuyasu is my all time favorite and doesn't deserve any of the horrible things that happen to him growing up), but I also always saw in him (or maybe read into him) this profound sense of being lost and having gone too far and not knowing how to go back or change. (In the live-action movie, I was actually really inspired by Masaki Okada's performance because, especially towards the conclusion, I saw Keicho doing these horrible things, but Masaki did such a great job of portraying how it was actually hurting Keicho too to hurt Okuyasu. I thought it really brought out just how conflicted he really was, which is what I always sensed in him too) I wanted to see what would happen if Keicho had a chance to change. He's a hard character to write at times because a lot of his tendencies are to do things that are harmful and his relationship with Okuyasu is absolutely toxic and as I've been writing this I've had to be very careful with that. Keicho tends to unconsciously (or maybe consciously depending on the day) hinder Okuyasu's personal growth a lot. But Josuke (canonically and also in later parts) is just the best thing for Okuyasu and it's really because of Josuke that he's able to pull himself up and out of Keicho's shadow (both canonically and in later parts of this fic).

P.S. Sorry if I got carried away with the response. I just love talking about fic stuff and Jojo stuff with people!

No problem. I actually love when people talk about Okuyasu or Josuke, or Okuyasu AND Josuke. I of course loved all of DIU, but meeting those two and their friendhsip was amazing.

            1. Josuke and Okuyasu are an amazing team. They really compliment and complete each other. Anytime I talk about them to friends who don't watch or read Jojo, I can't talk about one without explaining the other because they're inseparable in my brain. (And a lot of what makes up a lot of my fic from part 3 onward is tracking how they become best friends so quickly and how they make each other better and inspire each other.)
