I'm so glad you liked this. As you've probably read in other comments above, I am happy with some of how this story turned out and still love certain parts of it, but overall it's a mess and I think some of the issues you point to are part of it. As a rule I tend not to go back to revise or further finish stories I've published already because I feel like the best way to grow as a writer is to keep pushing myself on newer projects. So I'm sorry to say this won't get an expansion, but I understand why you think the story could use it. Ultimately I think what happens is that this is the same timeline but it is sort of happening in parallel time, so both Stans learn something about being a better partner for Kyle. Young Stan has seen how Kyle grows up and he realizes that his future self has played a role in that, and he tries to be more present and more conscious and just less of an asshole. I think Stan is somewhat traumatized from what happened to him him the future so he probably just keeps it to himself, only telling Kyle years later when they're adults who are in love leading adult lives that are very different from the one he glimpsed. (I suppose the timelines diverged after this switch happened.) He would tell Kyle about this crazy life they had in LA and Kyle would just be like "wow, how absurd." Though I stand by him having butt lift surgery, that's a very Kyle thing to do.
Thanks for reading and for sharing your thoughts. It really means a lot to me!
