Ahh, thank you so much! <3 It's kind of funny, I never considered that this story has many villains, but now that you point it out, yeah, it does! Although Justin Hammer doesn't actually do anything bad, he's just his sleazy self, and Hydra is very much in the background, mostly for that oppressive dystopian vibe. I'm pleased to hear I sold the not!Tony; he was fun to write, because I saw him as a sort of caricature of Tony that Obie created over the years.
I definitely left room for more, although I don't presently have any plans for a sequel. It was a choice I made from the start, that everything wouldn't be resolved in the end, because the story of how they slowly win the world back from Hydra would be a huge epic, and honestly I have to admit I'm not sure if I will ever have the time or the patience to write that.
