  1. Hello friend! Don't know if your question in the tags was rhetorical but since I can answer, I'm here anyway!

    Have you ever heard of ceruloplasmin? It's a protein in our blood that actually does carry a lot of copper (no joke, u can look it up) and is required to help metabolize and oxidize the iron in our blood. It's technically in the blood plasma, and more of an atomic compound but it explains the taste.

    Put more scientifically: each ceruloplasmin (cp) molecule holds 6 cu atoms which act as an enzyme cofactor to convert iron to an Fe+3 state so that the plasma protein transferrin can transfer Fe+3 into developing RBCs.

    But yeah, there's copper in there too, on a microscopic scale like basically everything else in the body. Super cool lol
